In early January, vivo shared the Android 11-based Funtouch OS 11 update timeline for India. According to the schedule, the company is supposed to release the update for vivo V17 by the end of March. Keeping up with the promise, the firm has begun the update rollout for this smartphone.

As per a report by PiunikaWeb, vivo has started seeding out Android 11 (Funtouch OS 11) update for vivo V17 in India. The update for this smartphone comes with build number vivo rev 8.75.6 and weighs a whopping 3.43GB in size.

Hence, users of this handset are advised to download the update via WiFi. If they don’t have a broadband connection, they can opt for adding additional data to their existing plan as it does not cost much in India.

That said, this software build is currently only available for a select few users. The type of build which has been released now is similar to that of Xiaomi’s MIUI Stable Beta. 

That means vivo is testing this build publicly among select users before rolling it to everyone. If these early adopters don’t come across any major issue, the same build will be released for all in the coming days. Else, a new build will be rolled out and it will go through the same process.

The vivo V17 launched with Android 9.0 Pie (Funtouch OS 9) in early 2019. The handset was updated to Android 10 (Funtouch OS 10) last year. Hence, the latest Android 11 (Functouch OS 11) update could be the last major software update for this phone.
