Vivo first unveiled the Vivo V7+ in India as its first model with an 18:9 aspect ratio that would be sold in the local market in September last year. The tech giant later took the wraps off the smaller variant – Vivo V7 a couple of months later. The smartphones came with a selfie-focused outlook and despite packing a Fullview display, both had an HD+ display resolution. Both devices have faced stiff competition for their budget outlook from other Chinee rivals like Xiaomi.

Vivo recently announced that the first set of variants of the V7 and V7+ would get price cuts. Also, a few new limited edition variants of both the devices were announced, all in a bid to shore up sales. Vivo is said to have also slashed the profit margins for its offline retailers by over 40% and this has led to the loss of more than 10,000 retailers in a short while. A source disclosed exclusively to Phoneradar that Vivo also plans to discontinue both the Vivo V7 and V7+ smartphones in the Indian market.

The decision to discontinue the V7 and V7+ in India may be unconnected to the uninspiring performance since they were launched. Instead, the Chinese tech company is said to be planning the launch of two new models featuring the same FullView 18:9 display. As at this moment, there is no detail available on the two new models that would be launched by Vivo. But it is unlikely the company will launch the models exclusively in India. We may likely see the devices launched in China before hitting India. Already, we have had a couple of leaks concerning Vivo models with full-screen design and in one case a screen-to-body ratio almost at 100%.

Vivo, the China-based smartphone manufacturer has partnered with designer Manish Malhotra to launch Vivo V7+ Infinite Red Limited Edition phone in India, targeted towards millennials across the country.

Apart from the red-colored body, there is also a heart-shaped motif on the back panel, which is designed by Manish Malhotra. The phone will be available for purchase through Amazon India as well as offline stores across the nation, for a price of Rs. 22,990.

Commenting on the announcement, Kenny Zeng, CMO, Vivo India, said in a statement:

With the launch of V7+ Manish Malhotra Limited edition, we are providing an opportunity for consumers to express their love in a more elegant and captivating manner.

The Vivo V7+ is company’s first phone that comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio with ‘Full View’ display. It sports a 5.99-inch IPS display with screen resolution f 1440 x 720 pixels.

Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, along with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. There’s also a microSD card slot, enabling users to further expand the storage capacity up to 256GB.

The phone is fitted with 24-megapixel Moonlight selfie camera that features a LED flash, a customized 1/2.78 image sensor and f/2.0 aperture. Even with 4x zoom, the selfie shots carry all the details. The rear camera side features a f/2.0 aperture 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and optimized algorithm. It is capable of capturing of 64-megapixel Ultra HD photos with top notch clarity.

Vivo is consistently expanding its reach in Southeast Asian countries. It has already entered markets like Malaysia and Thailand in the recent past. In December, the company had entered Taiwan by the launch of Vivo V7 and Vivo 7+. Both the smartphones are now available for buying in the country.

The Vivo V7 and V7+ are respectively priced at NT$9,900 (~$331) and NT$10,900 (~$365) in Taiwan. The company is aiming to gain a share of 5 percent in the smartphone market in the country. It has collaborated with Taiwan Mobile and Synnex Technology to promote its smartphones in the local market.

The Vivo V7 and V7+ respectively offer a screen-to-body ratio of 83.6 and 84.4 percent. The V7 has a 5.7-inch screen that produces HD+ resolution whereas the V7+ has a larger display of 5.99 that also delivers the same resolution. These handsets are the first phones to be powered by Snapdragon 450 chipset. These phones also feature 4 GB of RAM. The native storage of the Vivo V7 is 32 GB whereas the inbuilt storage of V7+ is 64 GB.

Initially, the smartphone was available exclusively through online retailer Flipkart. But now the phone is available on other e-commerce platforms such as Amazon India and Paytm Mall. Along with that, it is also available through offline retail stores. The phone is available in three colour options — Champagne Gold, Matte Black and the recently introduced Energetic Blue.

Also, the company has announced that the users of Reliance Jio will receive an additional data benefit of 100GB to all those who purchase the Vivo V7. While the company has slashed the pricing of Vivo V7, the pricing of its bigger sibling — Vivo V7 Plus remains unchanged. It is still retailing at a price of Rs. 21,900 in India.

The Vivo V7 features a 5.7-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset, which comes coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

There is also a dedicated microSD card slot, enabling users to further expand the phone’s storage capacity up to 256GB.  A 24-megapixel front-facing camera is present for taking selfies, which also comes with a Portrait mode and a “Moonlight Glow” LED flash to make the images look better in low-light conditions. India is the new love of Chinese manufacturers and they are not afraid to show it with the first and sometimes exclusive releases they are getting. Vivo yesterday announced that its mid-range Vivo V7 will now be available in Energetic Blue.

When the Vivo V7 was unveiled last month, it was only available in Matte Black and Champagne Gold. Now interested buyers can pick up the full-screen smartphone in a third color option.

The Energetic Blue Vivo V7 is now available on Amazon India and Flipkart at a discounted price of Rs. 18,990 instead of Rs. 19,990.

The specs remain the same as the other color variants. You get a 5.7-inch 1440 x 720 display, a Snapdragon 450 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.

The selling point of the phone is its 24MP front facing camera with support for portrait mode and live photos and a dedicated selfie flash. You also get a 16MP camera on the rear and a fingerprint scanner.

After launching the Vivo V7+ in markets like India, the Chinese manufacturer had launched a similar phone with Vivo Y79 moniker in China. In the same way, after the launch of Vivo V7, the company has today unveiled the Vivo Y75 phone with similar specs.

Vivo Y75 Specifications and Features

The Vivo Y75 comes with a 5.7-inch display that produces an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The display supports an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is powered by Helio P23 chipset that includes an octa-core processor and 4 GB of RAM. The native storage available on the Vivo Y75 is 32 GB. It also supports a microSD card slot through the hybrid dual SIM slot.

For snapping photos, it features an f/2.2 aperture 13-megapixel rear camera instead of the 16-megapixel primary camera found on the Vivo V7. Also, instead of the impressive 24-megapixel selfie snapper found on the V7, the Y75 phone has 16-megapixel front-facing camera. It does not feature a frontal LED flash that is found on the Vivo V7 smartphone.

The handset is running on Android 7.1.2 Nougat that is customized with FunTouch 3.2. It also equipped with Face Wake feature for unlocking the device by scanning the face of the user. The other features available on this phone include 3,000mAh battery, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and v4.0 Bluetooth.

Just like the V7 Plus, this one too follows Vivo’s vision of focusing on selfie camera. The mid-range smartphone has a lot of similarities with its bigger sibling V7 Plus — from the design of the phone to the specifications.

The smartphone features with a 5.7-inch FullView display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels, having an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a 2.5D Curved Glass. It boasts 83.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. On the other hand, the V7 Plus features a 6-inch display panel.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor, backed by 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. There is also a microSD card slot, allowing users to further expand storage capacity up to 256GB on the device.

Apart from display, the only major difference between the V7 and the V7 Plus is storage and RAM, with the Vivo V7 Plus having 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

On the optics front, the smartphone features a 16-emgapixel f/2.0 rear camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and a single LED flash. However, the highlight of the device is the front-facing camera, which comes with a 24-megapixel lens.

The camera also supports Portrait Mode and Live Photos, similar to Vivo V7 Plus. It has the ability to shoot 64-megapixel Ultra HD images by stitching multiple images. The selfie camera comes with Smart Beauty 7.0  and also has “VivoFace Access” technology that enables users to unlock the device through facial recognition.

The Vivo V7 will come with a FullView display. The smartphone is expected to feature a 5.7-inch HD+ display as opposed to the 6-inch display on the V7 Plus. Under the hood, it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, along with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Vivo has been known for focusing on the camera department and the V7 will not be an exception. The smartphone retains the same 24MP selfie camera which was the highlight of the V7+. The device will also come with a 16MP front-facing camera.

In the previous month, Vivo had unveiled the Vivo V7+ smartphone with full screen design in India. A new device with Vivo Y79 has received TENAA certification in China. Its specifications suggest that Vivo V7+ may launch as Vivo Y79 in China.

The images of the Vivo Y79 shows that it resembles the Vivo V7+. The TENAA listing show that the Vivo Y79 measures 155.87 x 75.74 x 7.7 and its weight is 160 grams. Like the Vivo V7+, the Y79 features a 5.99-inch display that supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,440 pixels. It may boast a high screen-to-body ratio of over 84 percent.

The Vivo Y79 is fueled by 1.8 GHz processor and 4 GB of RAM. It appears that the smartphone would be driven by 1.8 GHz Snapdragon 450 SoC that powers the Vivo V7+. Both the handsets feature 64 GB of storage. The Vivo Y79 will be coming preinstalled with Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS that will be probably overlaid with FunTouch OS.

A 16-megapixel camera will be present on the rear side of the Vivo Y79 whereas its front may feature a 24-megapixel Moonlight selfie camera. The back panel of the phone features a fingerprint reader. The only major difference between the Vivo V7+ and Vivo Y79 is that the former includes a 3,225mAh battery and the latter has a 3,150mAh battery.

TENAA has also certified another Vivo phone with Vivo Y79A moniker. Except for support for CDMA 2000 network on Vivo Y79A, both the Y79phones seem to carry the same specs. Like V7+, the Y79 may come with similar features like Hi-Fi audio chip and face scanning. It is expected to arrive only in gold color.

The Vivo V7+ will be available for pre-booking from Sept. 7 with the price tag of Rs. 21,990 (~$343) on Amazon and Flipkart in India. The first sale of the smartphone will begin on Sept. 15.

Vivo X20 and Vivo X20 Plus are the upcoming smartphones from Vivo. Speculations have it that X20 duo may debut on coming Thursday in India. Fresh information that have emerged from China have revealed the alleged specifications of the Vivo X20 and X20 Plus.

Previous reports have revealed the Vivo X20 and X20 Plus would be coming with a bezel-less smartphone. The real-life images of the smartphone of the alleged Vivo X20 phone that appeared in the previous week also corroborated on the rumors of bezel-less design. Fresh details coming from Chinese media has revealed that the Vivo X20 would be featuring a 5.2-inch display and the larger Vivo X20 Plus would be fitted with a 5.5-inch screen. These displays are expected to deliver an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The Snapdragon 630 is rumored to power the Vivo X20 whereas the Snapdragon 660 may be present under the hood of the X20 Plus. Both the chipsets are speculated to be accompanied by 6 GB of RAM. The Vivo X20 may house 64 GB of inbuilt storage and the X20 Plus may come with 128 GB of native storage. The report suggests that both phones will be coming with a front-facing camera of 24-megapixel.

These handsets are expected to come preloaded with Android 7.1 Nougat OS. A leaked render of the Vivo X20 shows the front and backside of the phone. The fingerprint scanner is not visible on either side of the phone which indicates that it may feature an in-screen fingerprint reader. A 3,500mAh battery is speculated to power both phones. These phones are expected to arrive with full metallic chassis.

Some markets are expected to receive these smartphones as Vivo X20 and Vivo X20 Plus. Some markets like India are speculated to receive them as Vivo V7 and Vivo V7+. In the previous month, the Chinese firm had confirmed that it would be holding a launch event in India on Sept. 7 to unveil the selfie focused Vivo V7+. The image shown in the press invite suggests that Vivo V7+ would be arriving with bezel-less design just like the render of the Vivo X20 render shown above.

There is no information available on the launch date of the Vivo X20 and X20 Plus and their pricing. More information are expected to surface soon in this week through the unveiling of Vivo V7+.

It has been a while we saw a new machine from Chinese tech company Vivo but the tech company looks set to unveil a new smartphone, albeit in India. Already, invitations have been sent out for the launch event which would hold on September 7 in Mumbai, India.

The press invite clearly reveals the device that would be launched is the Vivo V7+ which looks like a successor to the Vivo V5 launched in India last year. The poster also reveals the design as well as the main feature of the V7+. First, it will likely come with a design with little bezels at the sides and a high screen-to-body ratio. Even the bezels at the top and bottom edges would be reduced also. In addition to that, the V7+ is being projected to pack a “revolutionary selfie camera” which would capture clear shots and clear moments. The device will likely have a dual selfie camera setup just like its predecessors, talking about the trio of Vivo V5, V5S and V5 Plus.

The Vivo V7+ is expected to pack a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED 1080p display and would be powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor backed by 6GB RAM and a 128GB expandable storage. The device is expected to run Android Nougat and pack a 3,500mAh battery under its hood. We can’t say when the device will hit other markets, including Vivo’s home country, China but it may likely launch with a different name in China.
