Vivo has launched the Vivo Watch 3 globally, following its initial release in China. The global version, which is currently available in the Philippines keeps the same sleek design but offers improved battery life. Weighing 36g, the Vivo Watch 3 features a stylish design with a rotating crown and a large 3D curved glass display.

The AMOLED display of the watch measures 1.43 inches with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. It runs on BlueOS, providing a simple user interface with an Always On display feature.

Health tracking is a key feature, with multi-channel monitoring including 8-channel heart rate and 16-channel blood oxygen tracking. The watch also monitors stress levels, detects noise, and tracks sleep, with a Silent mode to aid rest. Fitness enthusiasts can take advantage of over 100 sports modes.

For connectivity, the Vivo Watch 3 offers Bluetooth calling, music control, and NFC access card support. Motion gestures can be used to answer calls or silence alarms. The battery lasts up to 16 days in Bluetooth mode, providing extended use.

Pricing & availability

The watch comes in two versions: Moon White with a leather strap for PhP 14,999, and Asteroid Black with a rubber strap for PhP 13,999. It is available for purchase on Vivo’s official website.

In other news, Xiaomi has teased the upcoming Redmi Buds 6 wireless earbuds, now available for pre-order ahead of their official launch on September 25 alongside the Redmi Note 14 series. The earbuds feature an in-ear design and come in green and white. Key upgrades include dual ceramic dynamic drivers for improved sound quality, advanced noise cancellation with a reduction depth of 49dB, and up to 42 hours of battery life. Global launch details of these earbuds are currently under wraps.

Vivo Watch 3 surfaced on SDPPI

The Chinese brand’s smartwatch was certified on the SDPPI database. It was spotted carrying the V2405 model number. Unfortunately, the certification does not confirm any finer details like its specs, design, or pricing. But we can expect the global variant to be identical to the Chinese version. Just recently, the Vivo Watch 3 ECG version debuted in China with a premium look, which may also arrive in the global market.

Talking about the specs, the Vivo Watch 3 sports a 1.43-inch circular AMOLED display that offers an Always-on Display, 3D curved glass, and 466 x 466 resolution. This model runs on the company’s proprietary BlueOS and offers 4GB of internal storage paired with 64MB of RAM. A 505mAh battery pack powers this smartwatch. Vivo had initially claimed that this smartwatch could offer up to 16 days of battery life on a single full charge. However, the brand later admitted to error in its claims. So you can expect around 7 days of battery life with regular use.

The Vivo Watch 3 features a slimmer form factor compared to its predecessor. It comes with a stainless steel along with a rotating crown as well as a physical button. It also comes with 5ATM water resistance, which promises protection up to 5 meters of submersion. The wearable features a heart-rate monitor and a SpO2 blood oxygen sensor. Vivo has launched the new Vivo Watch 3, featuring a stylish black metal case and leather strap. This latest model, presented alongside the Vivo X100 Ultra smartphone, now includes an electrocardiogram (ECG) to check for heart rhythm irregularities.

The new ECG feature completes checks in just 30 seconds and is primarily designed to spot conditions like atrial fibrillation. Alongside ECG, the Vivo Watch 3 continues to offer heart rate and blood oxygen level monitoring, supports over 100 sports modes, and tracks cycling and sleep patterns.

The watch features a 1.43-inch AMOLED panel, with an Always-on display and up to 100 different watch faces to choose from. The battery life of the Vivo Watch 3 lasts up to 16 days under normal use but drops to about three days when using the always-on display and LTE features. The watch includes NFC for contactless payments and a built-in GPS that works independently of a smartphone.

Availability and Pricing

The Vivo Watch 3 ECG version is currently only available in China priced at 1,499 yuan ($207). The price is expected to rise to 1,699 yuan after the initial offer period ends ($235).

Vivo has acknowledged an error in its promotional materials for the new Vivo Watch 3 smartwatch. The company initially claimed that the watch could last up to 16 days on a single charge with eSIM in its promo materials. But it turns out that this figure is only achievable under specific usage conditions.

In a statement posted on its official Weibo account, Vivo said that the Vivo Watch 3 has a battery life of 7 days in normal usage scenarios. And, to achieve the 16-day battery life, users must use the watch in a more limited capacity.

Vivo provided detailed testing conditions for both battery life claims:

7-Day Battery Life:

• Continuous intelligent heart rate monitoring

• 2 hours of daily connection to the LTE network

In terms of health and fitness, the Vivo Watch 3 is equipped with a heart-rate monitor,  SpO2 sensor and it will warn the user when abnormal fluctuations are found. The device is also capable of tracking sleep, stress, and even menstrual cycle for women. The smartwatch can also detect high noise levels for hearing protection. The Vivo Watch 3 packs support for more than 100 workout modes along with customized exercise plans. 

The Vivo Watch 3 runs on the company’s proprietary BlueOS operating system based on Rust programming language with features like NFC car keys, camera control, and more. The smartwatch can also store cards and users can swipe it by raising their wrist. It also displays QR code for receiving payment. The smartwatch comes with eSIM support for hands-free voice calling. The Vivo Watch 3 has 64MB RAM and 4GB native storage for storing music. It can also connect to TWS earbuds. The wearable device is backed by a 505mAh battery unit and is claimed to offer a battery life of 16 days on a single charge.

The Vivo Watch 3 is offered in Chen Yehei, Moonlight White, Starlight, and Bright Moon colors. The smartwatch starts at CNY 1,399 (~$191) for the eSIM version with a leather strap whereas the other with a soft rubber strap costs CNY 1,299 (~$178). This teaser also offers us a look at the new removable strap design as well.

Furthermore, the bottom of the wearable houses the health monitoring sensors, while the device is expected to run on the company’s proprietary BlueOS. This software will enable features like NFC car keys, camera control, and various other basic functionalities. Notably, the Vivo Watch 3 would likely offer various sports modes and could offer waterproofing for protection.

Vivo is preparing to launch its Vivo Watch 3 smartwatch on November 17, 2023. Ahead of the launch, the company has released a design teaser for the upcoming smartwatch.

The teaser reveals a round dial for the Watch 3 with a crown on the right frame. It also confirms two color options for the watch—Black and White with the latter laced in a leather band and the former sporting a silicone band.

Vivo has also confirmed that the Vivo Watch 3 will ship with BlueOS, the company’s new self-developed operating system. 

BlueOS is the world’s first OS to be written in Rust programming language and features generative AI capabilities. As a result, Vivo claims that BlueOS will offer unlimited watch face support and it will also have its app store.

As for the specs, the Vivo Watch 3 is expected to feature an OLED display. More details about the smartwatch will be revealed at its launch event.

Vivo has finally confirmed the launch date of the Vivo X100 series. The brand released the below poster to reveal that the photography-focused flagships, the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro, will be announced at 7 pm (local time) on Nov. 13 in China. The Vivo Watch 3 will also be unveiled alongside the Vivo X100 series. 

Vivo X100 series, Vivo Watch 3 launch date

The Vivo X100 series will feature the Dimensity 9300, which is expected to debut through MediaTek’s launch event that will take place on Nov. 6. The X100, which bears the V2309A model number, was recently benchmarked on AnTuTu with an impressive score of 2,249,858. The X100 and X100 Pro will be the first smartphones to feature LPDDRT5 RAM, which promises 13 percent improved performance over LPDDR5x RAM, which is available on almost all the recent flagship phones.

This score is higher than upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered flagships, such as the Realme GT 5 Pro, OnePlus 12, and Xiaomi 14 (already launched), that were spotted with respective scores, such as 2,229,696, 2,110,808, and 1,992,387 points on AnTuTu. The X100 Pro+, which will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, is expected to debut in Q1 2024.

The Vivo X100 series will come preloaded with the all-new OriginOS 4-based Android 14. Shown below is an official image that showcases the rear design of the Vivo X100. The X100 series is also confirmed to feature the Zeiss-certified Vario-APO-Sonnar lens, which is designed for periscope telephoto photography.  The lineup is likely to carry a starting price of 3,999 Yuan (~$546), similar to the Xiaomi 14 series.

The Vivo Watch 3 is also scheduled to launch alongside the X100 series. The brand has confirmed that it will run on the newly developed Blue OS, which will come with its own app store and offer unlimited watch face support through generative AI. It is the world’s first operating system to be written in the Rust programming language. Additionally, Blue OS has been touted as the world’s first operating system to build the system framework using the Rust programming language.

Vivo is expected to launch the Watch 3 smartwatch in China alongside the Vivo X100 series of smartphones. According to a new leak from Digital Chat Station, the Vivo Watch 3 is rumored to have support for 4G LTE, which would allow users to make calls and receive messages directly from their wrist, without needing their smartphone nearby.

Likewise, the smartwatch is likely to keep the round watchface and will have a circular OLED screen with a new”desktop pet” feature. The feature is expected to be similar to the one on the Vivo X Flip’s external screen. This fun and unique feature will add personality to your smartwatch, making it more than just a functional device.

The watch is also expected to support sports health monitoring functions such as heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring and will also integrate seamlessly with OriginOS 4.0–-Vivo’s upcoming OS based on Android 14.

Digital Chat Station has previously leaked some information about the Origin OS 4.0 system, which is expected to debut in October. Some of the new features that have been rumored to be included in the system include AI large models, global free small windows, and more.

As for the release time of the Vivo Watch 3, the blogger said that it is expected to debut together with the X100 series of smartphones. This is supported by a recent Weibo post from Jia Jingdong, VP of Vivo and GM of brand and product strategy, who said that the X100 series and iQOO 12 series are “getting closer and closer” and will be announced after the Asian Games.

The Vivo Watch 2—predecessor to Watch 3—was released in December 2021, currently retails for 1,199 yuan, and is available in three colors: black, white, and silver. It supports network connectivity via e-SIM and can achieve 7 days of battery life in typical scenarios with this function turned on, and 14 days of battery life with this function turned off. The watch also has dozens of built-in sports modes and supports a 50-meter waterproof design.
