In the past few months, Honor unveiled the Honor Magic V6 powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, while the Oppo Find N6 foldable debuted with the 7-core version of the same chip. Apart from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, two more horizontally foldable smartphones from Vivo and Xiaomi are expected to debut in the coming months. Here’s a look at what to expect from these foldables.

Vivo X Fold 6, Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 incoming

According to tipster Bald Panda, the next major foldable smartphones expected to launch are the Vivo X Fold 6 and Xiaomi Mix Fold 5. The tipster claims that the Vivo foldable could feature one of the largest batteries ever seen on a foldable phone, along with a 200-megapixel primary camera. Despite the large battery, the device is also said to maintain an extremely thin and lightweight design.

According to a recent leak by tipster Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X Fold 6 may pack a massive 7,000mAh battery. Speculation also suggests that the device could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. The Vivo X Fold 5 was unveiled in June 2025, so there is a possibility that its successor could debut around the same time this year.

As for the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5, the tipster suggests that it may arrive with an upgraded version of Xiaomi’s in-house chipset technology. According to a recent report, the device could be equipped with the upcoming in-house chipset called the Xring O3. It is unclear what upgrades the O3 will offer over last year’s Xring O1.

At present, there is no clarity on whether Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable phone will be called the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 or Xiaomi 17 Fold. It is advisable to wait for further reports to confirm its final marketing name.

In the comments section of the Weibo post, Bald Panda further hinted that Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable is currently scheduled for a Q3 launch timeline. Since the Xiaomi 18 series is expected in September, it is likely that the foldable phone may debut in July.

Huawei Mate XTs Ultimate Design

Huawei introduced the Mate XTs as a follow-up to last year’s Mate XT. It remains the only production-ready tri-fold phone available for purchase in 2025. The device switches between three usable form factors: a 6.4-inch folded phone, a 7.9-inch mini tablet when half-open, and a full 10.2-inch tablet when completely unfolded. The display features COE pixel technology, which reduces power consumption by 13%.

The tri-fold mechanism uses a Tiangong hinge with dual-track linkage, aerospace-grade steel, and an 8-layer buffer. Huawei claims 30% higher impact resistance, and the thinnest part of the display is just 0.02mm. The Kirin 9020 chip replaces the previous Kirin 9000 and improves performance by 36%.

The camera system includes a 50MP variable aperture main sensor, a 40MP ultra-wide with macro support, a 12MP periscope lens, and a 1.5MP multispectral sensor. It runs on a 5600mAh silicon-carbon battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging support.

Prices start at 17,999 yuan (around $2,520) for the 256GB variant and go up to 22,499 yuan ($3,150) for the 1TB stylus bundle.

Xiaomi Mix Flip 2

Xiaomi launched the Mix Flip 2 with significant hardware and design upgrades. The device features a triple-curve foldable build and weighs just 199g. It comes with a redesigned hinge structure that improves durability with certifications for 200,000 folds.

The 4.01-inch outer AMOLED screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 3200 nits brightness, and app functionality across more than 500 apps. The inner 6.86-inch AMOLED screen also offers 1.5K resolution, Dolby Vision, and a dynamic refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite powers the device with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. Leica has co-developed the camera system, which includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens with macro focus, and a 32MP front camera with 4K video recording.

Xiaomi priced the base 12GB+256GB variant at 5,999 yuan ($840), while the top-end 16GB+1TB version costs 7,299 yuan ($1,022).

Huawei Pura X

Huawei also launched the Pura X flip phone earlier this year with a unique 6.3-inch foldable OLED screen that uses a 16:10 aspect ratio. The outer 3.5-inch OLED display adopts a square 1:1 ratio. Both screens feature LTPO 2.0 technology, 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and 1440Hz PWM dimming.

The device uses the Kirin 9020 processor, according to reports, and offers up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. The rear camera setup features a 50MP RYYB main sensor, a 40MP ultra-wide, and an 8MP 3.5x telephoto lens. It also adds a 1.5MP multispectral color camera.

The 4720mAh dual-cell battery supports 66W wired and 40W wireless charging. The Pura X starts at 7,499 yuan ($1,050) and goes up to 9,999 yuan ($1,400) for the premium 1TB Collector’s Edition.

Oppo Find N5

Oppo launched the Find N5 globally with a focus on display quality and hinge engineering. The phone features an 8.12-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED foldable screen with a peak brightness of 2100 nits and 2160Hz PWM dimming. The outer 6.62-inch AMOLED screen peaks at 2450 nits and uses ceramic guard protection.

The titanium flexion hinge is now 36% stronger and 26% slimmer than the previous generation. Both displays support stylus input. The phone runs Android 15 with ColorOS 15 and brings new features like AI call summaries and cross-platform file access.

The camera system includes a 50MP main sensor with Hasselblad tuning, a 3x telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide sensor. Under the hood, it comes with a 5600mAh battery that powers the device with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.

In China, prices start at 8,999 yuan ($1,260), while the international model costs 2,499 SGD (around $1,937).

Vivo X Fold 5

Vivo released the X Fold 5 with a focus on battery tech and display brightness. The inner 8.03-inch 2K+ LTPO panel and the outer 6.53-inch FHD+ screen both reach up to 4,500 nits. Both screens also support Dolby Vision and UTG glass protection.

The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and includes a VC + graphite cooling system. The hinge uses an antenna structure to save internal space and supports up to 600,000 folds.

The triple rear camera system includes a 50MP main shooter, a 50MP periscope lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. It also features dual 20MP front cameras. The 6000mAh battery supports 80W wired and 40W wireless charging.

Vivo priced the X Fold 5 at 6999 yuan in China and Rs. 1,49,999 in India (around $1,700).

Honor Magic V5

Honor introduced the Magic V5 as its most durable and premium foldable to date. The design features an eight-curve frame and King Kong Giant Rhino Glass for superior drop resistance. The hinge uses aerospace-grade materials and supports 500,000 folds. The phone also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings.

The 7.95-inch inner and 6.43-inch outer OLED screens support 120Hz refresh rate and peak at 5000 nits. The display also supports HDR Vivid and Dolby Vision. The camera setup includes a 50MP wide lens, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 64MP periscope with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.

It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite with up to 16GB RAM and a 6100mAh silicon-carbon battery on the 1TB variant. Charging support includes 66W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.

Honor priced the base model at 8,999 yuan ($1,260), and the top-end variant at 10,999 yuan ($1,540).

Honor has launched the Magic V5 in China as the world’s thinnest foldable. The Ivory White variant measures 8.8mm when folded and 4.1mm when unfolded, weighing 217 grams. The phone uses a Luban Suspension Hinge tested for 500,000 folds and includes King Kong Giant Rhino Glass for protection.

The 7.95-inch inner and 6.43-inch outer OLED displays both support 120Hz refresh rates and peak brightness up to 5000 nits. The phone is rated IP58 for dust and IP59 for water resistance. The rear camera system includes a 50MP wide, 50MP ultra-wide, and 64MP 3x telephoto with up to 100x digital zoom. It uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and offers up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.

But with the Vivo X Fold 5 finally arriving in the Indian market, the competition in the foldable segment in 2025 is heating up. In the past, Vivo’s foldables had a clear edge over Samsung’s offerings. But with the various improvements, let’s see how it takes on the South Korean tech giant’s flagship foldable.

Vivo X Fold 5 vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Design & Display

With the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung finally made major upgrades to the design. It is finally matching the foldables from Chinese competitors with a slim 4.2mm body when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded. This makes it even slimmer than the Vivo X Fold 5’s 9.2mm body (4.3mm unfolded). While this is a minor difference, the Galaxy Z Fold series doesn’t fall behind in this regard. So your decision here is based on personal preference. Notably, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 offers an IP48 rating for water and dust resistance, while the Vivo X Fold 7 brings an IP5X and IPX8 rating, which is slightly better.

On the display side, the Vivo X Fold 5 brings an 8.03-inch foldable QHD+ AMOLED inner screen and a 6.53-inch 1.5K AMOLED outer display. Both panels offer a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, 4500 nits of peak brightness, and Dolby Vision. Meanwhile, Samsung offers a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, FHD+ resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for protection, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The primary screen is an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a QXGA+ resolution (2184 x 1968) and 120Hz refresh rate. So once again, you’re getting gorgeous displays on both models.

Performance

Vivo packs the X Fold 5 with last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC that offers high performance capable of handling gaming and everyday tasks with ease. But Samsung’s foldable flagship goes above and beyond with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. This custom version of the 8 Elite is more powerful, meaning, you’re getting the best Android chip on the market. Apart from a noticeable improvement in raw performance and graphics computing, this chip is also more power efficient. So if you want the best money has to offer, Samsung clearly has the edge here.

Camera

Vivo swings back in the photography department with its Zeiss camera lens and tuning on the X Fold 5. The 50MP (Main, Sony IMX921) + 50MP (Ultra Wide, Samsung JN5) + 50MP (telephoto, Sony IMX882, 3x) is a flagship grade camera setup that is also found on the Vivo X200. While Samsung did make an upgrade in the camera setup by bringing the S25 Ultra’s 200MP primary sensor, the rest of the kit (12MP ultra wide + 10MP telephoto) lags behind.

The main shooter is a true flagship camera, but the overall versatility with Zeiss modes and the other two sensors are just superior in my opinion. For selfies and video calls, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has 10MP cameras while the X Fold 5 has 20MP cameras.

Battery & Charging

Another area that Vivo dominates is in the battery and charging department. Thanks to its massive 6,000mAh cell, you can expect a much better battery life on the Vivo X Fold 5 compared to the Z Fold 7’s 4,400mAh battery. Samsung still offers the embarrassingly slow 25W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging speeds on its ultra premium phone, while Vivo offers a more respectable 80W wired and 40W wireless fast charging.

Pricing and Verdict

The Vivo X Fold 5 only arrives in a single 16GB + 512GB variant in India that costs 149,999 INR. On the other hand, the 12GB + 256GB base variant of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 costs 174,999 INR. The higher end 512GB model with 12GB RAM costs 186,999 INR. So Vivo is undercutting the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in the global market.

Samsung has made great improvements in its latest foldable flagship, but the Vivo X Fold 5 is a better rounded foldable overall. But once you factor in aspects like the software, Samsung definitely has an edge. But for that much extra money, it’s still hard to recommend the Z Fold 7 to first-time buyers of a foldable phone or those outside of Samsung’s ecosystem.

Vivo has officially launched the X Fold 5 in India, adding yet another book-style foldable to the premium smartphone category. Unveiled alongside the Vivo X200 FE on Monday, the new foldable maintains a familiar two-screen setup while bumping up internal specs to current flagship standards.

Vivo X Fold 5 Specifications

The X Fold 5 features an 8.03-inch foldable AMOLED inner screen and a 6.53-inch AMOLED outer display. Both panels support a 120Hz refresh rate and reach a local peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Vivo says the displays are TÜV Rheinland certified for eye protection and tuned with Zeiss Master Color calibration.

Performance-wise, the phone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. It ships with FuntouchOS 15 based on Android 15. 

The hardware is backed by a 6,000mAh battery that supports 80W wired and 40W wireless charging. Vivo claims the phone offers durability certifications across multiple standards, including IPX8 and IP5X. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometrics. 

Vivo X Fold 5’s camera setup includes three 50MP sensors on the rear. The main is a Sony IMX921 sensor with OIS joined by a Sony IMX882 telephoto lens with up to 100x digital zoom, and a Samsung JN1 ultrawide unit. The foldable uses 20MP selfie cameras on both the inner and cover displays.

Connectivity options are standard for the segment, with dual SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, OTG, and USB Type-C. The phone is 9.2mm thick when folded and 4.3mm when open, with a weight of 217 grams.

Honor and Vivo have already announced their latest flagship foldable (1,2) in their home market. With the global release for both the Honor Magic V5 and Vivo X Fold 5 being right around the corner, here’s a quick comparison between these two models.

Vivo X Fold 5 vs Honor Magic V5: Design

Foldable smartphones are known for their heft and bulk, but Chinese brands have made great progress in this regard. The Honor Magic V5 is the best example of this since it is the world’s thinnest foldable phone yet, measuring just 8.8mm thick (4.1mm unfolded). Despite having a bigger battery and two screens, it is also lighter than the iPhone 16 Pro Max, weighing around 217 grams.

While this is all quite impressive, Vivo isn’t too far behind either. The Vivo X Fold 5 also launched with a thin 9.2mm body (4.3mm unfolded) and weighs around 217 grams for the titanium version. In the past, foldable phones didn’t offer robust Ingress protection, but this has been changed in the latest flagships. Both devices offer up to an IP59 rating for water and dust protection. So the Magic V5 is the winner here by a hair’s margin, literally.

Performance

These are ultra premium smartphones, and you can expect top-tier performance from the duo. However, the Honor Magic V5 is equipped with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, which has a notable bump in performance compared to last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that powers the Vivo X Fold 5. The X Fold 5 Pro would likely offer the latest chip, but the base variant here falls behind in terms of raw horsepower.

Photography is another area where foldable phones haven’t been the best when compared to typical flagship devices. The cameras are basically the same as the ones found on the Vivo X200 and offer top notch photography experience.

Honor’s Magic V5 is no slouch in this regard either, with a 50MP (Main) + 50MP (Ultra Wide) + 50MP (Periscope Telephoto) setup on the back and a 20MP selfie shooter on both screens. But Vivo has established itself as a consistent performer in the photography department with the Zeiss collaboration offering additional customizability when taking pictures. So, Vivo has an edge in the overall photography experience.

The Vivo X Fold 5 and Honor Magic V5 are nearly evenly matched in the battery and charging side as well. The former has a 6000mAh battery pack, which supports 80W wired fast charging, 40W wireless fast charging, and reverse wireless charging support.

On the other hand, the latter has a 6,100mAh battery on the 1TB variant and a 5,820mAh cell on the other configurations that supports 66W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, wireless reverse charging. On paper, the Vivo has a better package, but the more efficient Snapdragon 8 Elite could offer a longer battery life.

Pricing

Honor Magic V5 starts from 8,999 yuan (roughly 1,255 US Dollars) for the base 12GB + 256GB variant, which makes it nearly 300 US Dollars more expensive than the Vivo X Fold 5. For the same storage option, Vivo’s flagship foldable costs just 6,999 yuan (roughly 975 US Dollars). In other words, the Vivo X Fold 5 could be a better deal if you can forego the latest chipset and slightly slimmer design. The Magic V5 is a top tier offering for its price, but it will likely compete with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 at this price range.

Vivo has confirmed that the Vivo X200 FE and Vivo X Fold 5 will launch in India on July 14. The smartphones will be available on Vivo India’s website, Flipkart, and Amazon. Microsites for both devices are now live on all three platforms.

Vivo X200 FE features

The Vivo X200 FE comes with a 6.31-inch display, measures 0.799 cm in thickness, and weighs 186 grams. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Plus processor with a 3.4GHz peak clock speed and a 4 plus 4 all-big-core CPU. The phone is available in Amber Yellow, Frost Blue, and Luxe Grey. It has an IP68 and IP69 rating for dust and water resistance.

The rear camera setup is backed by ZEISS and includes a 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX921 sensor, optical image stabilization, and an f/1.88 aperture. It also features a 50MP telephoto camera using a Sony IMX882 ultra-sensitive sensor, and an 8MP ultra wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field of view. As usual, the listing has revealed the chipset, RAM, and OS version of the device.

The Vivo X Fold 5 (V2429) Geekbench listing reveals that the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. While the chipset’s name is not mentioned in the listing, the CPU details and GPU details are sufficient to claim the inclusion of the SD8G3 chip.

The listing further reveals that the Vivo X Fold 5 has 16GB of RAM and runs on Android 15. In the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench, the device scored 2142 and 6315 points, respectively.

Vivo X Fold 5 price leak

According to a recent X post by tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Vivo X Fold 5 will be priced at Rs 1,49,999. This pricing belongs to the sole 16GB+512GB configuration of the device.

Vivo has also confirmed that the Vivo X200 FE, a compact flagship offering, will also debut alongside the X Fold 5 on July 14 in India. The tipster revealed that the X200 FE will be available in two options, such as 12GB+256GB and 16GB+512GB. These variants are said to cost Rs 54,999 and Rs 59,999, respectively.

Vivo is adding two new devices to its Indian portfolio this month. The company has confirmed that the Vivo X200 FE and the X Fold 5 will officially launch in India on July 14. 

The Vivo X200 FE is effectively a rebranded version of the S30 Pro mini, and most of its specifications are already known. It features a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit color support. Vivo claims the panel can hit a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. 

The device measures 7.99mm in thickness and weighs 186 grams, placing it in the lightweight category by today’s standards. Color options include Black Luxe, Blue Breeze, Pink Vibe, and Yellow Glow.

In terms of imaging, the X200 FE includes a 50MP Sony IMX921 main sensor with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP telephoto sensor (Sony IMX882) with 3x optical zoom. On the front, Vivo is equipping it with a 50MP autofocus selfie camera.

The X Fold 5, meanwhile, is one of the slimmest foldables available on the market. Vivo says the device weighs 217 grams and measures 9.2mm when folded. It features a 6,000mAh battery utilizing the brand’s new fourth-generation silicon-carbon anode design, paired with a second-generation semi-solid-state system. 

Vivo says the battery will operate even in sub-zero conditions, down to -30°C. The charging speeds top out at 80W wired and 40W wireless.

The X Fold 5 is also rated IPX8 for water submersion, IPX9+ for high-pressure underwater resistance, and IP5X for dust, making it one of the few foldables with this kind of ingress protection.

July 2025 is shaping up to be even more jam-packed for smartphone enthusiasts.

We will see many mid-range phones, including OnePlus Nord 5, Nord CE 5, Nothing Phone 3, and Oppo Reno 14 series, launching this month, alongside the latest foldables from Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. There’s also a new Ai+ smartphone brand releasing in July 2025.

If you’re looking to upgrade to a new smartphone, the wait might be worth it. To give you a clearer picture of what’s to come, we’ve listed all the upcoming devices, along with all the details we know so far.

1. Nothing Phone (3)

Launch date: July 1, 2025 (official)

The Nothing Phone (3) is launching later today. It’s expected to introduce rather significant changes to its rear design. Official-looking renders appeared recently, showing an awkward placement of the rear cameras. While Nothing hasn’t confirmed Phone (3)’s camera setup, it has confirmed that one of the three is a 50MP periscope telephoto unit.

The black circle on the right is for the Glyph Matrix. There’s no iconic Glyph Interface that we are used to seeing in Nothing phones. The brand will likely use the new Glyph Matrix in upcoming high-end phones as well.

The Phone (3) is expected to feature a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a 5,150mAh battery with 100W wired and 15W wireless charging support. It’s confirmed to pack the powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset for smooth performance. The phone will receive Android updates for five years and security updates for seven years.

2. AI+ Smartphones

Launch date: July 8, 2025 (official)

The new AI+ smartphone brand, led by Realme India’s former CEO, Madhav Sheth, is all set to launch its first smartphones next week. The upcoming phones — AI+ Nova 5G and AI+ — Pulse are designed and built in India and will be exclusively sold through Flipkart.

The smartphones have a starting price of INR 5,000, but this likely includes card discounts as well. We’ll have better clarity about the pricing at the launch. As for the key specs, the phones have a 5,000mAh battery and dual rear cameras led by a 50MP sensor. The phones also feature a microSD slot for up to 1TB of additional storage.

According to a recent leak, the Nova 5G will use a 6nm Unisoc T8200 chipset, while the Pulse 4G will feature a 12nm Unisoc T7250 chipset. Privacy is another key focus of the brand, as it claims all the users’ data stays in India on Google Cloud servers approved by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY).

3. OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5

Launch date: July 8, 2025

OnePlus is also on this month’s list for the launch of Nord 5 and Nord CE 5. The former will be a premium mid-range phone, while the latter is going to be a toned-down version of it.

The brand has confirmed that the Nord 5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and will feature a 7,300mm² vapor chamber. It features a vertical camera array on the rear side, housing two sensors. According to recent leaks, it may include a 50MP Sony LYT-700 primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide sensor. The front side could come with a 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor.

Other leaked specs include a 5,200mAh battery with 80W fast charging and a 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate.

The more affordable OnePlus Nord CE 5, on the other hand, is expected to feature a 120Hz AMOLED screen, Dimensity 8350 chipset, 50MP dual rear cameras, a 16MP selfie camera, and a massive 7,100mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging.

4. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7

Launch date: July 9, 2025

The next-generation Galaxy foldables will be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event scheduled for July 9. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be the showstopper. However, reports say Samsung could also unveil a cheaper Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 may come with an 8-inch inner screen and a 6.5-inch cover screen. It’s expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. The device is said to feature a triple camera setup, led by a 200MP sensor, and a 4,400mAh battery with 25W charging support.

As for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, it’s likely to sport a 6.8-inch inner screen and a 4-inch cover screen. Samsung is expected to ship the device with two chipsets, either with an Exynos 2500 or a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, depending on the market. The device could be equipped with a dual rear camera setup, including a 50MP primary camera and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. It’s said to have a 4,300mAh battery and 25W fast charging support.

Both foldable phones will likely ship with Android 16-based One UI 8 software out of the box, promising seven years of Android and security updates.

5. Oppo Reno 14 series

Launch date: July 3, 2025

This week, Oppo will announce the Reno 14 series in India. There will be two smartphones: Reno 14 5G and Reno 14 Pro 5G. The Reno series targets the mid-range segment, offering a good blend of performance, price, and features, and the Reno 14 series will be no different.

As for the specs, the Reno 14 Pro is confirmed to have the Dimensity 8450 chipset. It will feature a triple camera setup, comprising a 50MP (OmniVision OV50E) primary camera, a 50MP (Samsung ISOCELL JN5) ultrawide camera with a 116° field of view, and a 50MP (OmniVision OV50D) telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. The selfie camera also has a 50MP resolution, featuring the Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor. The Reno 14 Pro is said to have a 6,200mAh battery with 80W wired charging support.

The Reno 14 will have the same selfie camera but a different rear camera setup, which includes a 50MP (Sony IMX882) primary camera, a 50MP telephoto camera, and an 8MP ultrawide sensor. Other key specs include an AMOLED screen, Dimensity 8350 chipset, and a 6,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging.

6. Realme 15 series

Launch date: mid-July (unofficial)

The Realme 15 series is confirmed to launch soon in India. Although there’s no exact launch date yet, it will most likely be unveiled later this month.

The official teaser reveals that the brand will soon launch the Realme 15 5G and Realme 15 Pro 5G. There will likely be a “Pro+” variant at a later stage. Most of the things about the Realme 14 series are under covers.

The Realme 15 Pro is being positioned as an “AI Party Phone,” suggesting that the device will come with loads of AI features. The official poster also hints at flagship features for the Pro model that were previously exclusive to the Plus line of Realme smartphones.

6. Vivo X Fold 5 and X200 FE

Launch date: mid-July (unofficial)

Vivo X Fold 5 and Vivo X200 FE are officially confirmed to launch soon, most likely this month.

The Vivo X Fold 5 may feature an 8.03-inch LTPO inner screen and a 6.53-inch cover screen, both supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s said to be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

The foldable phone could feature a triple camera setup on the rear side, including a 50MP (Sony IMX921) primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP (Sony IMX882) periscope telephoto unit. It’s expected to house a 6,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired and 40W wireless charging speeds.

The Vivo X200 FE will likely launch alongside the X Fold 5 sometime this month. Key specs include an LTPO AMOLED panel, Dimensity 9300+ chipset, and a 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. The device may feature a triple camera setup, including a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. For selfies, it will have a 50MP camera.

7. Motorola Moto G96

Launch date: July 9, 2025

The Moto G96 launch is also due for this month. The device features a stylish design and will be offered in four colors: Ashleigh Blue, Greener Pastures, Cattleya Orchid, and Dresden Blue, all with a vegan leather finish.

The Motorola smartphone will feature a 6.67-inch 3D curved pOLED screen with 144Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset. The device is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.

A dedicated page is already live on Amazon, revealing key details, including a curved screen with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 4000 nits.

The smartphone features IP65M water resistance and Honor Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Technology 2.0 with 2m drop resistance. It weighs 189g and has a thickness of 7.98mm. The Honor X9c 5G features a dual-camera setup led by a 108MP primary shooter with OIS support. The brand claims a 3x zoom without any loss of detail. Additionally, the device offers a range of AI-assisted camera features, including AI Eraser, AI OIS Motion Sensing, and AI Night Mode.

The Honor X9c 5G packs a 6,600mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 66W fast charging. It has dual stereo speakers and boots MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15.

Vivo has started teasing the India launch of the X Fold 5, just days after the phone was unveiled in China. This comes alongside the teaser for the Vivo X200 FE, which is also expected to launch in India soon.

The Vivo X Fold 5 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It features a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP main sensor with Sony IMX921, f/1.57 aperture and OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP 3x telephoto lens using the Sony IMX882 sensor. It also has two 20MP front cameras, one on the cover screen and one inside.

The phone has strong durability ratings. It is certified IPX8 and IPX9 for water resistance, IP5X for dust resistance, and can handle temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius. The hinge uses a carbon fiber support system and is tested for 600,000 folds.

It includes a 6000mAh dual-cell battery with 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. A Shortcut Button is also included for quick access to apps and functions.

The phone is 9.2mm thick when folded and 4.3mm thick when open. It weighs 217 grams. Vivo has confirmed that the X Fold 5 will be available through Flipkart and Vivo’s official online store after launch. The exact launch date will be shared in the coming days.

The folding phone market has evolved a lot since 2019. However, this category has struggled to grow beyond a niche. 

Even as they’ve gotten sleeker and more polished, many still feel like experiments—nice to try, but not quite ready for everyday use. Vivo’s new X Fold 5 quietly pushes back against that idea.

Instead of focusing on flashy features or just high-end specs, the X Fold 5 works on the basics: making the phone lighter, thinner, more compatible with other devices, and better for real-world use. And the formula seems to be working for Vivo. 

Here are five things that make the Vivo X Fold 5 stand out from the rest of the foldables. 

Lighter Than a Slab

The biggest hardware change in the X Fold 5 is how light it is. Its titanium version weighs just 217g while the glass model is slightly heavier at 226g.

That’s lighter than many regular flagship phones, including the iPhone 16 Pro Max (227g) and even Vivo’s own X200 Ultra (229g). 

Vivo also keeps pushing the limits of thinness. Last year’s X Fold 3 was already as slim as a USB-C cable when folded at 4.7mm thickness. The X Fold 5 goes even further and is now just 4.3mm slim. 

And it’s not just about being light and thin for looks. The lighter design makes it easier to use the phone while closed and to carry it around without it feeling bulky in your pocket.

Foldable, Not Fragile

Durability has always been a weak spot for foldables. Moving parts, bendable screens, and complex hinges often reduce long-term reliability.

Vivo is trying to solve that with the X Fold 5. It is the industry’s first folding phone with three ingress protection. It is IPX8 rated for water resistance, IPX9+ for high-pressure water jet protection, and IP5X for dust protection. Vivo says the foldable can handle temperatures as low as -20°C.

This level of protection is rare in foldables. Most brands still treat dust and water resistance as sacrifices you have to make. Vivo doesn’t.

Bridging Android and Apple—Sort of

One of Vivo’s more surprising moves is trying to reduce the gap between Android and Apple. While most Android brands ignore the Apple ecosystem, Vivo is trying to work with it.

The standout feature is support for Apple Watch on an Android device. Using a new app called Vivo Health Connect, users can now pair an Apple Watch with the X Fold 5. Of course, this will sync all your health data, notifications, and activity rings. And you can pick your calls from the watch itself.

It’s the first Android phone to offer this, and it could make switching from an iPhone easier for Apple users. There’s also a case designed with MagSafe support, and the phone can wirelessly reverse-charge an iPhone. 

Productivity That Feels Practical

Foldables are often sold as productivity tools, but few truly deliver. The X Fold 5 takes a more thoughtful approach. It doesn’t try to replace your laptop, but it does make multitasking easier.

It has a feature called “Atomic Workbench” that lets you open up to five apps at once on the screen, with drag-and-drop support between them. It doesn’t just stretch the phone UI to a bigger display—the layout adjusts smoothly whether you’re holding it vertically or horizontally.

It also works well with Apple’s macOS. You can mirror your MacBook screen, control both devices with the same keyboard and mouse, and even access your Mac files directly on the phone.

It’s also the first Android device that can access iCloud Drive directly, removing yet another roadblock for Apple users who want to switch.

Still a Capable Camera Phone

Vivo hasn’t forgotten that foldables should still have strong cameras. The X Fold 5 borrows its camera system from the X Fold 3. It includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 3x periscope zoom lens.

Not to forget, the 3x telephoto is also tuned for macro photography. Vivo is also continuing its partnership with ZEISS, and the camera includes several classic filters and styles. 

This isn’t Vivo’s best camera setup—that honor still goes to the X200 Ultra—but it doesn’t feel like a downgrade either. Keeping the camera system slightly more compact helps the phone stay light and thin.

Vivo has officially launched the X Fold 5 in China, marking a significant step forward in the foldable smartphone space. Marketed as the world’s lightest large-format foldable phone, the X Fold 5 weighs just 217g in its Titanium finish and introduces several industry-firsts. Let’s check out the key specs of this device.

Vivo X Fold 5 Specifications

The X Fold 5 features an 8.03-inch inner AMOLED display with a 2K+ resolution of 2480×2200 pixels, supporting a 1-120Hz adaptive LTPO refresh rate and up to 4500 nits peak brightness.

The outer screen is a 6.53-inch FHD+ LTPO AMOLED panel with the same 120Hz refresh rate and brightness level. Both displays support 10.7 billion colors, Dolby Vision, and high-frequency PWM dimming for reduced eye strain. The inner screen is protected by UTG glass, while the outer display uses second-generation Armor Glass for improved durability.

The phone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, combined with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. It uses a custom hinge-integrated antenna setup that improves signal strength by 36% in the folded state. Vivo has tuned the network performance in collaboration with Qualcomm for multi-band signal enhancement.

The device runs OriginOS 5 based on Android 15 and introduces a new productivity-focused feature called “Atomic Workbench.” It supports up to five simultaneous apps in split-screen view with drag-and-drop functionality, designed for heavy multitasking. The X Fold 5 uses a reengineered hinge made from FS55 high-strength steel and carbon fiber. The X Fold 5 is the first foldable certified with IPX8, IPX9, and IPX9+ water resistance, capable of withstanding 80°C water and high-pressure jets. It is also rated IP5X for dust resistance.

The device can operate in extreme cold conditions, such as -20°C, and is equipped with dual stereo speakers, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS with NavIC, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Vivo has also included an industry-first design where the inner screen can be independently replaced.

Vivo is set to unveil the X200 FE smartphone in Taiwan on June 23. It has a separate launch event scheduled on June 25 in China for X Fold 5. Looks like both devices will make their debut on the same day in the Indian market.

Per GSMArena, the smartphones will launch in India anytime between July 14 and July 19. It’s a slight shift from a previous leak claiming a July 10–15 timeframe for the foldable. But either way, it appears Vivo’s next round of flagships are locked in for a July India entry.

The X200 FE is largely a known quantity at this point. Vivo’s teasers confirm it’s a rebranded version of the Vivo S30 Pro mini, and the spec sheet lines up accordingly. 

The phone features a compact 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color support, and a claimed peak brightness of 5,000 nits. It weighs 186g and measures 7.99mm thick. The phone will be available in four colors: Black Luxe, Blue Breeze, Pink Vibe, and Yellow Glow.

Camera-wise, the X200 FE includes a 50MP Sony IMX921 sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 50MP telephoto lens (Sony IMX882) capable of 3x optical zoom. The front houses a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus, a first for the company’s X-series lineup.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro was one of the thinnest foldable smartphones when it launched, and the Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to continue this design philosophy. In the official teaser, the Chinese brand claims that the device is lighter and stronger than before. Rumors have hinted at the new foldable flagship weighing just 209 grams and measuring around 4.3mm unfolded and 9.3mm when folded. You also get an IPX8, IPX9, and IPX9+ rating for water resistance along with an IP5X rating for dust resistance.

It is confirmed to arrive in three color options, namely White, Titanium, and Pine Green. The rear also has the large circular camera island with the Zeiss branding. The Vivo X Fold 5’s primary display is rumoured to be a tall 8.03-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2K+ resolution. Meanwhile, the cover screen is a 6.53-inch LTPO OLED screen with a FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. You can expect to find great multitasking functionality, with a teaser video showcasing the device running five apps on the main screen.

Performance

A recent GeekBench listing revealed that it packs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which is paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. If this is true, then the Vivo X Fold 5 is getting the same processor as its predecessor, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro but a generation ahead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 on the base Vivo X Fold 3.

So the Snapdragon 8 Elite could be limited to the Vivo X Fold 5 Pro. Despite its ultra slim body, the Vivo X Fold 5 will pack a massive 6,000mAh battery pack, which is the largest ever on a foldable phone. There is also support for 90W wired fast charging and 30W wireless fast charging.

Camera

Vivo flagships are known for their great photography experience and the Zeiss collaboration, both of which are returning on the Vivo X Fold 5. The primary camera is a 50MP Sony IMX921 sensor along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel IMX882 telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Simply put, this appears to be the exact same camera system as the one found on the brand’s Vivo X200.

Launch Date

The company has confirmed the Chinese launch date for the Vivo X Fold 5. It will make its debut along with the Vivo TWS Air 3 Pro on 25th June 2025. While the Chinese pricing is still unclear, a recent leak hinted at the Indian pricing being around 139,999 INR (roughly 1636 US Dollars).

With the ‘Atomic Workbench’, the Vivo X Fold 5 users will be able to take video calls, check PPT slides, monitor stock trends, and run professional tools—all while continuing gameplay, without interruptions. The interface supports real-time interaction across five app windows, making it highly suited for work and play.

Like recent Vivo phones in China, the X Fold 5 will run on OriginOS 5-based Android 15. Additional software-related features include support for Apple Watch and iCloud sync, cross-ecosystem message and call functionality, and PC remote access with Mac file connectivity.

Vivo X Fold 5 spotted with a 90W charger

A new Vivo smartphone with the model number V2507A has been listed in the database of China’s 3C certification platform. This device is believed to be the Chinese variant of the Vivo X Fold 5.

The alleged X Fold 5 was spotted with support for a 90W charger in the 3C certification. Speculation suggests that the X Fold 5 may debut in July in China. 

As shown in the screenshots, a Vivo phone with the model number V2429 has been certified by the IMDA authority in Singapore and the SIRIM certification platform in Malaysia.

While the IMDA listing provides no details about the device’s name or specifications, the SIRIM listing confirms that it will be marketed as the Vivo X Fold 5. Thus, the V2429 is the global version of the X Fold 5.

Vivo X Fold 5 specifications (rumored)

As per a recent report, the Vivo X Fold 5 will feature an 8.03-inch 2K+ 120Hz AMOLED inner display and a 6.53-inch FHD+ 120Hz LTPO AMOLED cover screen. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it will sport a triple 50-megapixel camera setup (Sony IMX921 main, ultra-wide, and IMX882 with 3x optical zoom) with Zeiss optics and a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

The device offers a 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired and 30W wireless charging. It will also feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IPX8 rating, and will measure 4.33mm in the unfolded state.

Vivo is said to be up for a big reveal in India, with rumors pointing to a July 10, 2025, launch for two heavy-hitters: the X200 FE and the X Fold5. The former has already been spotted on India’s BIS certification website. Set to debut at the same event, these devices promise flagship-grade features within a refreshed design. Leaks are spilling exciting details, so let’s dive into what’s coming.

According to sources, the Vivo X200 FE is a compact flagship with a 6.31-inch 1.5K flat OLED display at 120Hz, complete with an under-display fingerprint sensor. It’s expected to run on either the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ or the Dimensity 9400e chip, delivering smooth performance for gaming and multitasking.

The camera setup doesn’t disappoint either: features a 50MP main sensor (1/1.56″ Sony IMX921), a 50MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom (Sony IMX882), an 8MP ultrawide, and a 50MP selfie camera. With a 6,500mAh battery (up from 5,0700mAh unit of the China-exclusive X200 Pro Mini) and 90W wired charging, plus IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, it’s built to last. It weighs around 200g, only 13g heavier than the Pro Mini, and is expected to come in 12GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB variants.

The Vivo X Fold5, meanwhile, is a foldable flagship with an 8.03-inch 2K+ AMOLED inner display and a 6.53-inch LTPO OLED cover screen, both at 120Hz. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, it’s a beast.

Its camera system mirrors the X200 FE’s, with a 50MP main (IMX921), 50MP ultrawide, and 50MP 3x telephoto (IMX882), plus dual 32MP selfie cameras. It packs a 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired and 30W wireless charging, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a three-stage alert slider. At 4.3mm unfolded and 9.33mm folded, it’ll be one of the slimmest foldables ever built. For context, the Oppo Find N5 — the slimmest Android foldable phone in 2025 — measures 4.2mm unfolded and 8.9mm when folded.

While the X200 FE targets compact phone fans, the X Fold5 aims to rival Samsung’s foldables.

The news arrives from known tipster Paras Guglani, who shared the details on X (formerly Twitter). He claimed that the Vivo X200 FE will arrive in four colors options, which includes Gray, Black, Pink, and Yellow. To recall, the device was already tipped to launch in Gray and Yellow in the last leak, which also revealed its storage options. The Vivo X200 FE is expected to be announced in June, with Guglain stated that the release is set in the later half of the month.

This likely refers to the Indian release. But that’s not all, the tipster revealed the launch timeline of another flagship foldable smartphone. The Vivo X Fold 5 5G might be arriving in the Indian market in the third quarter of this year. In other words, its release is set somewhere between July and September 2025. This is in line with one of our previous report, where we covered a leak from another popular leakster, Digital Chat Station.

Interestingly, Vivo has reportedly decided to skip the number “4” in its naming. This is a common practice among Chinese brands, as the number 4 is considered unlucky in Chinese culture due to its phonetic similarity to the word for “death.” While the recent report revealed several specifications of the X Fold 5, it did not mention anything about its launch timeline. However, in a recent Weibo post, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that the device will debut in the coming months.

According to DCS, the Vivo X Fold 5’s launch timeline is tentatively scheduled for July in China, but the brand is also aiming to possibly move it up to June, depending on internal progress. To recall, the tipster previously claimed that the X Fold 5 will debut in Q3 this year in the home market.

He added that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered Vivo X Fold 5 will come with several key highlights. The device is expected to feature a sizeable 6,000mAh battery, support wireless charging, and include a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens. The camera module retains the brand’s signature large circular layout, positioning the phone as a design-centric imaging flagship.

On the front, the Vivo X Fold 5 is likely to feature dual 20-megapixel selfie cameras, placed on the cover and internal displays, respectively. Interestingly, this contradicts a recent report that claims the X Fold 5 will have two 32-megapixel selfie cameras on the front and inside.

A new leak from XpertPick appears to confirm the same and reveals the device’s full specifications well ahead of its official debut.

Vivo X Fold 5 specifications (rumored)

According to the leak, the X Fold 5 will feature a 6.53-inch LTPO OLED cover screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The inner display is said to measure 8.03 inches and also uses AMOLED tech with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2K resolution.

Powering the device will reportedly be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the same chip powering the X Fold 3 Pro. It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The rear camera setup is expected to include three 50MP sensors: a main Sony IMX921, an ultrawide with autofocus, and a Sony IMX882 telephoto with 3x optical zoom. For selfies, Vivo may include two 32MP cameras; one on the outer display and another inside.

The battery could be one of the key differentiators. It’s said to be a 6000mAh cell, which would make it the largest battery in any foldable on the market so far. Despite that, the body is rumored to measure just 4.3mm when unfolded and 9.3mm when folded. Charging is expected to be 90W wired and 30W wireless. 

Moreover, the leak says the device will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a three-stage Alert Slider, and several AI-driven tools. It will also have an official IP rating. For context, the previous X Fold 3 Pro came with an IPX4 rating.

Unfortunately, the report suggests Vivo might not launch a Pro variant this time around, meaning no direct successor to the X Fold 3 Pro.
