Over the last couple of days, we have covered some reports regarding Vivo working on a next gen foldable smartphone. Now, an online listing has basically confirmed this news, as well as the upcoming foldable device’s name.

Previously, a leak from a known Chinese tipster had claimed that the Chinese brand is working on a new Vivo X Fold+ model. Now, the Google Play Supported Devices list has basically confirmed this moniker. Apart from this list, the device has even been spotted on other certification websites as well, including the likes of GeekBench, 3C Certification, and more. Looking at the Google Play listing, the device is set to carry the V2229A model number, which is identical to the model number spotted on other databases.

The Vivo X Fold+ was spotted on the Google Play Supported Devices List alongside other new smartphones like the Vivo X Note. Unfortunately, this listing does not reveal any other finer details regarding this new foldable phone apart from confirming its model number. Although, this does hint that the smartphone’s launch is just around the corner. We also have previous reports that hints at its specifications. GeekBench listed the device with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC that will be paired with at least one model that has 12GB of RAM.

The device is also confirmed to run on Android 12 OS out of the box. The Chinese tipster also revealed the camera specifications of the device, which includes a 50 megapixel primary camera, a 12MP portrait shooter with 2x zoom, a 48MP ultra wide angle lens and an 8 megapixel periscope sensor. Other features include a 6.53 inch 120Hz AMOLED external display, an 8.03 inch 120Hz AMOLED primary display, and 4,700mAh battery pack that supports 80W fast charging as well.

Vivo is reportedly working on its next-gen foldable smartphone, dubbed X Fold S. The foldable has been the subject of various leaks recently. And today, it has been spotted on China’s 3C certification platform, hinting at an imminent launch. The listing reveals the device will support 80W fast charging. It is also rumored to be equipped with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Soc.

Tipster Digital Chat Station has spotted the Vivo X Fold S on China’s 3C certification site with model number V2229A. The listing confirms the device will be with an 80W dual C-port GaN flash charging head.

The tipster also sheds some light on the specifications of the device. He claims the Vivo X Fold S will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset. It will have a large screen offering 2K resolution and 120hz refresh rate.

Further, the foldable is said to be fueled by a 4700mAh battery and support 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. The tipster previously claimed that the X Fold S will have a quad camera setup that consists of a 50-megapixel primary, 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle, 12-megapixel telephoto, and 8-megapixel periscopic sensors. While on the front, it will house a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. The device is also said to have a new bright red plain leather body.

Vivo X Fold

The Vivo X Fold S will launch as the successor to the Vivo X Fold that was launched in April last year. The exact launch date of the forthcoming foldable is yet to be revealed, however, the 3C certification hints that the device may arrive soon.

Now, the company is believed to be working on another foldable phone model, which is dubbed the X Fold S. This device is expected to launch soon, and a new leak has revealed some key specifications as well as its rear design.

The news arrives from a known tipster Digital Chat Station, who shared the information on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website). On the social media post, the tipster stated that the Chinese smartphone maker is planning on launching a new foldable smartphone in China soon. Although, the leak did not reveal the exact launch date for the device. The tipster also shared that the new foldable phone will feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which is in line with our previous report.

Under the hood, a large 4,700mAh battery pack will power the device, which also supports 80W fast charging as well. This is also larger than the previous X Fold model’s smaller 4,600mAh battery pack. Furthermore, the upcoming Vivo X Fold S will apparently feature a rear panel design that is similar to the previously launched X Fold. Recent reports have revealed that Vivo is working on the Vivo X Fold S foldable phone. The moniker of the device suggests that it will be an improved version of the company’s first foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold, which went official in April this year. A new leak, courtesy of tipster Panda is Bald, has revealed the key specifications of the device.

According to the source, the Vivo X Fold S will have three major improvements over the X Fold. The leak revealed that the foldable phone will feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, a 4,700mAh battery, and 80W wired charging. In comparison, the X Fold offered the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, a 4,600mAh battery, and 66W fast charging. It appears the other specifications of the X Fold S will be identical to the X Fold.

The Vivo X Fold foldable phone features an 8.03-inch foldable AMOLED display with LTPO technology. It supports 1916 x 2160 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+. On the front, it features a 6.53-inch AMOLED cover display that supports 1080 x 2520 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset-powered X Fold has 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 256 GB / 512 GB of storage, and a 4,600mAh battery with 66W fast charging and 50W wireless charging support.

The X Fold’s front features a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The rear shell of the device has a 50-megapixel main camera with laser autofocus and OIS, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 5x optical zoom.

A recent report claimed that the Vivo X Fold S would debut in September. It is believed that the company is reportedly working on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered flagship, which may debut in November or December of this year.

In April, Vivo unveiled the Vivo X Fold as the company’s first-ever foldable phone. Rumors are rife that it is working on an updated version of the device, which will probably be released in the Chinese market with the Vivo X Fold S moniker. A Weibo user has shared a few key specifications of the device.

The new leak reveals that the Vivo X Fold S will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. The X Fold S is expected to carry support for 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and a dual ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner.

To recall, the X Fold that went official earlier this year featured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, 66W wired charging, and 50W wireless charging. According to tipster Bald is Panda, the device will feature the Sony IMX766V 50-megapixel main camera. The rest of its specifications will be identical to the IQOO 10 5G.
