The new variant features a gradient hue starts from blue on the lower part of the handset and turns into purple on the upper one. The color looks very impressive and reminds of the Aurora gradient hues of the latest Huawei and Honor flagships, but it is not exactly the same.

The Night Purple color is on the backplate and the frame, while the front panel of Vivo X21i in this new color variant is black. It has been made available with a price tag of CNY 2598 which roughly translates into $390 dollars. Both the materials and the specs sheet remain exactly the same as the standard version, but note that this variant is only available in the configuration with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, while if you need the one with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB ROM you have to go for the other color variants.

Vivo X21i’s design is composed of a glass back and an aluminum frame and it has a wide 6.28-inch display with a notch, a 19:9 aspect ratio and a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels. On the hardware side, it packs an octa-core Helio P60 chipset by MediaTek which can run at a max frequency of 2 GHz (both the Cortex A73 and Cortex A53 clusters can reach the same frequency). The main camera is a dual setup with 12 and 5 MP resolutions, f/1.8 and f/2.0 apertures, while the secondary front camera features 24 MP. At last, there is a moderate battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh and Android 8.1 Oreo is installed out of the box.

The carrier has just revealed almost all of its main specs, as well as the renders, showing the complete design of the upcoming variant of the X21. According to China Telecom, the upper-midrange device will be equipped with a 6.28-inch display which will have a notch and a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels. The design consists of a typical glass sandwich with a metal frame, and on the rear side, there is a fingerprint reader.

There is still no info about the launch of a “UD” variant (like Vivo X21 UD) with an under-display fingerprint reader. Vivo X21i measures 154.37 x 74.98 x 6.99 mm and it weighs 159 grams. The device will be considerably thinner than the standard X21 even if the look doesn’t change much. While the standard version features an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, this one has an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 SoC manufactured on a 12 nm production process, which can run at a max frequency of 2 GHz and includes a Mali G72 MP3 GPU.

According to a Weibo tipster, the Chinese manufacturer is now rumored to be working on a MediaTek Helio P60 powered edition of the X21. The new variant is speculated to debut as Vivo AI Smart Photo X21i or Vivo X21i. The tipster seems has the same unannounced smartphone to post about the new X21 variant. The X21i along with Helio P60 has been spotted on Geekbench benchmarking platform.

The tipster has claimed that the Vivo X21i will debut soon. However, there are no details available on its launch date or pricing. On Geekbench, the X21i has scored 1,499 and 5,777 in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. The Geekbench listing reveals that it is powered by ARMMT6771V/C which refers to the MediaTek Helio P60 SoC. The chipset is coupled with 6 GB of RAM and the handset is running on Android 8.1.0 Oreo.
