DxOMark has finally published its review of the Vivo X300 Ultra, and the result is a little surprising at first glance.

Despite being Vivo’s most expensive camera flagship and arguably one of the most ambitious camera phones released in recent years, the X300 Ultra did not take the top spot among Vivo devices. Instead, it finished with 170 points, just behind the Vivo X300 Pro’s 171-point score. Huawei’s Pura 80 Ultra currently remains ahead of both at 175 points.

On paper, that one-point difference is almost meaningless. Nobody is going to look at two photos and correctly identify a one-point gap in a DxOMark ranking. Still, the result is interesting because the Ultra costs significantly more and carries substantially more camera hardware.

The explanation seems to come down largely to video.

DxOMark awarded the X300 Ultra a noticeably lower video score than the X300 Pro. According to the review, low-light video performance was one of the weaker areas, with more visible noise and less consistent handling of difficult scenes. The Pro apparently did a better job balancing exposure, dynamic range, and noise reduction under challenging conditions.

The X300 Ultra was built around pushing hardware, especially when it comes to zoom photography. Unsurprisingly, some of its strongest results came in telephoto, ultra-wide, portrait, and zoom testing. DxOMark itself gave the device extremely high marks in several of those categories.

In fact, this is where the rankings become a little more complicated.

Someone who spends most of their time shooting portraits, wildlife, distant subjects, or travel photos may very well prefer the X300 Ultra over the X300 Pro despite the lower overall score. A single ranking number doesn’t always capture those differences particularly well.

DxOMark also pointed to occasional image artifacts and moments where processing could look somewhat unnatural. That’s not a criticism unique to Vivo. Many smartphone brands are now leaning heavily on computational photography and AI processing, and sometimes the software gets a little too enthusiastic.

The result highlights something that smartphone enthusiasts have debated for years: the “best camera phone” often depends on what you actually photograph.

The X300 Pro appears to be the more balanced device according to DxOMark’s testing methodology. The X300 Ultra, meanwhile, feels more specialized. It excels in areas that many photography enthusiasts care deeply about, even if that comes with a few trade-offs elsewhere.

Others never made the trip because the manufacturers decided the market wasn’t worth the trouble. A few exist in a legal grey area that makes importing them genuinely complicated. Whatever the reason, they’re out there, and they’re good. Really good.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra

Xiaomi has been building its partnership with Leica for a few years, and the 17 Ultra is where that work really pays off. The main camera sits on a one-inch sensor, and we called it one of the most ambitious smartphones of the year after getting hands-on time with it at launch.

What sets it apart from the usual flagship camera race is the Leica Essential mode, which gives photos their emotions back. Rather than chasing sharpness and perfect accuracy, it pulls back highlights, lets shadows breathe, and adds a subtle grain that makes images feel like they were taken with a real camera rather than optimised by a computer. It’s a genuinely different philosophy, and it works.

The battery is the biggest in any Xiaomi Ultra device yet, and the phone is rated for dust and water resistance at three separate ingress protection levels. It starts at around €1,249 in Europe.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra

The Find X9 Ultra is Oppo’s most powerful phone yet, and it comes with a camera setup that looks borderline excessive on paper. Two 200-megapixel sensors, a third 50-megapixel periscope, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide. 

So as you might guess, the Find X9 Ultra targets the ultra-premium segment, competing directly with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra as one of the most camera-forward phones on the market.

The Hasselblad tuning on the camera gives the results a more natural, less processed quality that’s different from what Samsung or Google serve up. The Find X9 Ultra leans into a more expressive design with eco-leather options that give a tactile, character-driven feel.

It starts at Rs 169,999 in India, or about $1,776 at current exchange rates. Not cheap, but then again, you’re getting four cameras, with two of them shooting at 200 megapixels.

Vivo X300 Ultra

Vivo has been making some of the most interesting camera phones in the world for a couple of years now, and the X300 Ultra continues that streak. Though the upgrades this year are just too incremental. 

Our first impression of the phone was that it might as well be called the X200s Ultra. Not to say the improvements aren’t noticeable, but modest compared to the generational leap of its predecessor.

That said, what it does well, it does exceptionally. For instance, the “Raw Lighting” mode dials back the computational processing to produce images that look more like they came from a professional camera than a phone. Saturation is reduced, sharpening is toned down, and the fine details come out more naturally. It’s the kind of feature that’s far more useful day-to-day than any flashy filter.

The main camera uses a Sony LYTIA 901 sensor, and Zeiss handles the colour calibration. The telephoto is a genuine upgrade over last year’s, though we found a noticeable difference only in low light. In good lighting, the gap between the X300 Ultra and X200 Ultra is minimal.

The 6,600mAh cell and 100W wired charging run everything. Available from around €1,999.

Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max

Huawei is the most complicated name on this list. US trade restrictions have essentially cut the company off from American markets, and using one here comes with real trade-offs — no Google services, limited app support, and software that takes some patience to work around.

With all of that said, the Pura 90 Pro Max’s camera system is genuinely worth knowing about. The Pro Max is the top of the lineup this time, and it leads with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, a first for any Huawei flagship. The phone also supports up to 20x telephoto video recording using that same lens, putting it in rarefied company on the zoom front.

The main camera uses a variable aperture that physically adjusts like a real camera — ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0 — which gives you more control over depth of field than any fixed-lens phone can match. Huawei calls this its second-generation Red Maple Image technology, designed to maintain natural colours in complex lighting situations like sunsets or firelight, where other phones tend to go strange.

We compared the phone against the Vivo X300 Ultra, and while it delivers a more elegant and refined experience, it sits a step behind on raw display quality and outright performance. At around $1,199, it’s the most affordable phone on this list. Imported that is. 

Huawei Pura X Max

Most foldable phones fold to be taller and narrower, or they flip to be compact. The Pura X Max does something different. It folds horizontally to create a screen that’s wider rather than taller, closer in shape to a compact iPad than a regular phone. It is the industry’s first horizontally wide foldable with a 7.7-inch inner display and a near 4:3 aspect ratio. 

Spoiler: the upcoming iPhone Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide might share a similar footprint.

Such a design has a real upside. Watching video, reading, multitasking, editing photos, or anything you’d normally do on a small tablet is much more comfortable on a display shaped like this. The 5.4-inch outer screen is wide enough to handle messages and calls without unfolding. And despite the large displays, Huawei kept the weight to a reasonable 229 grams and the unfolded thickness to just 5.2mm.

The same Google services caveats that apply to the Pura 90 Pro Max apply here, too. And the water resistance rating of IP58/IP59 is a step below what Honor manages on the Magic V6. But as a piece of hardware, thinking differently about the foldable form factor, there’s nothing quite like it. 

Honor Magic V6

Folding phones have always come with compromises you had to accept in exchange for the novelty. The Magic V6, which debuted at MWC 2026, is the clearest sign yet that Honor has figured out how to close that gap.

Our impression of the foldable was that the crease on the inner display is remarkably shallow, even after a week of heavy use. Honor’s new Super Steel design, rated for 500,000 folds, also feels solid and smooth throughout. It measures 8.75mm folded and just 4mm when open.

Where Honor brings real improvement is ingress protection. The Magic V6 is the first foldable phone in the world to earn both IP68 and IP69 ratings. Getting caught in the rain with a foldable has always been a mild source of anxiety. Not anymore, at least with this one.

The Magic V6 also offers an exceptional camera experience for a foldable. The main is a 50MP sensor that captures an incredible amount of detail, even after significant cropping during post-processing. The periscope telephoto lens supports 3x and 6x optical zoom, though, at 6x, AI processing is quite prominent. 

What you should know before importing

Importing any of these phones is possible, but not always simple. You’ll want to research band compatibility carefully; not all models support the same 5G and LTE frequencies used in the US, which means you might end up with slower data speeds or limited coverage.

The Huawei devices in particular require workarounds for apps that rely on Google services. And warranty support? You’re largely on your own. But if you’ve ever looked at what’s available at your carrier and thought this is it? Now you know there’s a lot more out there. Just not here.

Although I already shared my hands-on experience with the photography kit in the vivo X300 Ultra review, the weather during those days was quite poor, so I didn’t manage to capture many sample shots. Recently, I decided to head out again—into the woods and down to the seaside—to see if I could truly uncover the potential of this kit. When something costs €600, you definitely wouldn’t dare buy it casually without doing your homework first. Hopefully, after reading this article, you’ll have a clearer idea of whether it’s worth the investment.

Unboxing

The first layer of the packaging is the X300 Ultra itself, while the second layer contains all the accessories from the vivo X300 Ultra photography kit.

Actually, the accessories are basically the same as those of the first generation. There’s a tripod collar ring and also a 67mm filter adapter ring. Aside from this new 200mm teleconverter lens, everything else can easily be purchased from the official website. If you really only want the 200mm lens, make sure you check the link here.

Grip Usage Experience

The overall design of the new photography kit is pretty similar to the one from the X200 Ultra, except that the color has changed from black to silver. Once all the accessories are attached to the phone, it really does look quite a bit like a professional camera, right?

The imaging grip allows you to customize the function of every button and dial. Among them, I recommend customizing this function for the Fn key, because if you want to use the teleconverter lens for street photography or birding, this is the only way to quickly activate teleconverter mode.

Speaking of street photography, the 200mm teleconverter is probably the more suitable choice. The 400mm one not only sees farther than you’d imagine, but also feels pretty awkward in the hand. Compared to the grip, I actually prefer holding onto the lens itself. But with the 200mm one, you can just hold the grip normally.

As for things like build quality or compatibility, I already talked about them in the X300 Ultra review, so I won’t repeat them here. Instead, let’s combine it with some photos and talk about the actual user experience.

Astrophotography

If you have a 400mm lens, I’m pretty sure you’ll be interested in the moon.

What do you think about this photo? Isn’t it hard to believe this was taken with a smartphone? Even though it was shot at 1600mm and definitely uses algorithms to enhance image quality, this is still the most natural-looking moon photo I’ve ever seen, with the least amount of obvious AI processing. You can see the craters on the surface, but without excessive sharpening. That’s the charm of an optical telephoto lens.

Maybe you haven’t realized what it means to shoot celestial objects without a tripod: the stabilization on this kit has reached to the next level. Out of the 9 photos I took, only one came out slightly blurry.

Even if you were holding a professional camera, you still wouldn’t be able to capture shots like this without a tripod. But aside from the moon, other celestial bodies are still too far away from Earth. If you really want to get into astrophotography, you’ll still need to buy more professional lenses.

Concert Photography

Ever since vivo started making teleconverter lenses, its phones have included a mode called “Stage”.

In this mode, exposure is lowered, shutter speed is shortened, contrast is increased, and AI enhances every detail of the subject. It’s hard to believe that from 20 meters away, you can clearly capture someone’s hair strands and even the texture of their face, but the X300 Ultra, combined with the teleconverter lens, really does achieve this.

Some people don’t really like AI-enhanced photos, and honestly, neither do I, but if you’re actually at a concert and don’t want to regret your photos after getting home, then I’d still recommend using Stage mode. The AI is basically just bringing back your wrinkles and hair details. I think that’s acceptable.

If you’re outdoors during the daytime, then Auto mode can also produce a very sharp photo. No AI, everything just looks natural.

Wildlife Photography

Wildlife photography has always been a category that demands a lot from photography equipment. But now, you only need to spend 3000 dollars to step into the world of wildlife photography. You just need to walk into the woods, attach the grip and teleconverter lens, and then you’re already a qualified birder.

Well, this combination really can take some very beautiful bird photos. Sharp, clear, and sometimes it can even capture what they’re eating. You should also remember that these were handheld shots. Being able to take photos like these without a tripod proves to some extent just how high the upper limit of the stabilization performance is.

Maybe you’re wondering how much the teleconverter lens improves image quality. Here’s a photo taken without the teleconverter lens. At first glance, it still looks quite clear, but compared to the one shot with the teleconverter attached, there’s still a pretty noticeable gap. Taking excellent wildlife photos also requires some skill, because animals are always moving, making them much harder to photograph than the moon or singers.

First of all, you need to be willing to press the shutter button. Smartphones are not like DSLRs; electronic shutters don’t have a lifespan. So you really need to take a lot of shots before getting a satisfying photo. Secondly, if you want to photograph birds in flight, you still need to mount it on a tripod. And remember to turn off stabilization, because that’s the only way to keep the bird inside your frame.

If I had to point out a weakness, I’d say autofocus. Right now, the X300 Ultra’s bird recognition isn’t very accurate. In about 1/4 of the bird photos, the focus wasn’t actually on the bird itself, which is why I emphasized earlier that you absolutely need to shoot more photos.

There are also two more issues that are neither big nor small. The first is that the higher the magnification, the more obvious the shaking around the edges of the video becomes. This is caused by electronic stabilization, so if you avoid zooming in too much, the issue becomes less noticeable.

The second is that a 400mm focal length is still a bit too short for bird photography. In-Sensor Zoom alone simply can’t save photos taken in low light. So this photography kit can only really serve as an entry-level setup for wildlife photographers. Once the X300 Ultra helps you discover the charm of wildlife photography, then you can move on to buying a dedicated camera and longer telephoto lenses.

Conclusion

I’ve already tested the teleconverter lenses in the three main scenarios they’re designed for: astrophotography, concert photography, and wildlife photography. Looking at the results, concert photography turns out to be the most suitable use case for this kit. vivo clearly understands that its strength lies in portrait shooting, so even in a dim concert venue, it handles capturing the moment remarkably well.

After weeks of teasing, Vivo has officially launched the Vivo X300 Ultra in India. It follows the smartphone’s Chinese debut in late March, and as expected, not much has changed.

The device revolves around the idea of offering a camera-first experience. It features a 14mm ultra-wide camera using a 50MP Sony LYTIA 818 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, OIS, and third-generation VCS bionic spectrum technology.

The 35mm main camera uses a 200MP Sony LYTIA 901 sensor with an f/1.85 aperture, improved light intake, and reduced reflectivity. The 85mm telephoto camera is based on a 200MP Samsung HP0 sensor and offers 3-degree gimbal-level stabilization with support for up to 60 autofocus operations per second.

All of this is housed in what Vivo describes as a metal, pancake-style camera module with a knurled texture. The device comes in Victory Green and Eclipse Black and carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Vivo X300 Ultra with teleconverter module

The Vivo X300 Ultra is also compatible with two external teleconverter modules. The first is the Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra, which offers 400mm focal length using a 15-element optical structure. Meanwhile, the non-ultra Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 has a 200mm focal length with around 8.7x optical zoom. 

Both telephoto extenders feature CIPA 6.5-rated stabilization, meet ZEISS APO optical standards, and support fast autofocus at up to 60fps. Combined with the phone’s native cameras, Vivo refers to the entire setup as the “ZEISS Master Lenses Collection.”  

Not to forget, the extenders are compatible only with the Vivo Imaging Grip Kit. 

As for videos, the X300 Ultra supports 4K 120fps Dolby Vision and 4K 120fps 10-bit Log recording across all lenses. It includes OIS on all cameras, a four-microphone array, and support for 3D LUT imports. And if you’re professional, it supports ACES workflows, built-in cinematic modes like 24fps film style, and a 60fps modern format.

Display, performance, and battery

The device is powered by Qualcomm’s best Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Vivo has also upgraded thermal management with a liquid cooling vapor chamber. The system increases overall heat dissipation by 14 percent and features a 22% larger vapor chamber. 

On the front, you get a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and 2160Hz PWM dimming. It runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6.

It is backed by a 6,600mAh battery with 90W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

Price and availability

The Vivo X300 Ultra comes in 12GB/512GB and 16GB/512GB variants in India, priced at Rs 159,999 and Rs 169,999, respectively. The 400mm telephoto extender costs Rs 27,999, and the imaging grip kit costs Rs 11,999. The X300 Ultra, along with the grip kit and both extenders, is available at Rs 2,09,999.

The camera setup is where things stand out a bit more. The X300 Ultra includes two 200MP sensors as part of a triple rear camera system. A new camera comparison making the rounds is putting a smartphone up against a full-frame mirrorless setup, and the results are interesting to say the least. Chinese creator fenibook has shared a side-by-side camera comparison between the Vivo X300 Ultra and a Sony A7 III paired with the 24–70mm GM II lens, along with the original RAW files for anyone who wants to take a closer look.

On paper, the comparison feels a bit uneven. The Sony setup costs significantly more once you factor in both the body and lens, while the Vivo sits around the $2,000 mark depending on the variant. But that’s also part of the point: how close a phone can get to dedicated camera gear in certain situations.

In good lighting, the Vivo actually holds up better than some might expect. Its 200MP sensor produces images with a lot of detail, and in all the image samples shown in the video, they appear sharper than what comes out of the A7 III’s 24MP sensor. Colors are also fairly well controlled, though in some tricky lighting situations the Vivo samples can look slightly less natural compared to the dedicated camera. Vivo is likely relying on heavy post-processing here, but it’s handled well enough that the images don’t come across as overly processed.

That said, it’s not a complete picture. The test doesn’t really cover more challenging scenarios like low light or a wider range of focal lengths. And realistically, pixel-peeping 200MP images isn’t something most people will do regularly. A full-frame camera still has a clear advantage when it comes to flexibility, especially with zoom lenses, where it can deliver results that a smartphone setup struggles to match. Even with Vivo’s optional 400mm G2 teleconverter, there are limits. With that accessory, the X300 Ultra is expected to retail at around €2,300 in Europe.

But the point here isn’t to replace a dedicated camera in every situation. It’s more about how close a smartphone can get while staying portable. And from that perspective, the Vivo X300 Ultra does quite well. The images are highly detailed, colors are mostly consistent, and there’s no obvious noise or artifacts. For users who want more flexibility, there’s also the option to add the teleconverter kit, which is relatively compact.

Vivo X300 Ultra Repair Cost

Starting with the essentials, a screen replacement is listed at 1,620 yuan, though there’s a discounted price of 1,320 yuan if users agree to return the damaged panel for recycling. A new battery costs 199 yuan, while replacing the back cover costs 350 yuan.

Unsurprisingly, motherboard repairs are the most expensive. Depending on the configuration, prices range from 3,300 yuan for the 12GB + 256GB variant all the way up to 4,200 yuan for the 16GB + 1TB model.

For the camera, the rear main sensor costs 820 yuan to replace, the periscope lens 790 yuan, and the ultra-wide module 450 yuan. Even the smaller multispectral sensor isn’t free at 95 yuan. Meanwhile, the front-facing camera is relatively affordable at 125 yuan.

If you lose accessories, you can get the charger set at 199 yuan, and a replacement data cable costs 69 yuan.

To note, major repairs, including the screen, battery, motherboard, and cameras, are covered for free during the warranty period. Once that expires, users will need to pay for both parts and labor, though the labor fee is capped at 50 yuan per visit, even if multiple components are repaired at once.

With just days to go before its European debut, the Vivo X300 Ultra has leaked with pricing and color options for the region.

Earlier leaks, including what looked like listings from Vivo Austria’s own store, suggested the top-end model (16GB RAM, 1TB storage) could land at around €1,999. That immediately raised eyebrows. At that level, it’s brushing up against phones like Apple’s highest-end iPhone.

Now there’s a slight change. According to tipster Roland Quandt, a newer retail source points to a launch price of €1,900 for the 16GB+1TB configuration. There’s also mention of a bundled version that includes the 400mm G2 Ultra teleconverter, essentially an add-on aimed at getting more out of the camera system. That package is said to be priced at around €2,300, so quite a jump if you want the full setup.

Even at €1,900, though, this is firmly in ultra-premium territory. Especially considering the same phone is already available in China at noticeably lower prices if you go the import route. That gap is something buyers in Europe have been pointing out more often lately.

Vivo does seem to be trying to soften the blow a bit. Pre-order offers, at least in some regions, are expected to bundle in accessories or discounts. At the end of the day, it’s a phone that’s leaning heavily on professional photography and videography. The Zeiss collaboration, the hardware, the optional teleconverter, it’s all clearly aimed at photography first.

The official pricing is expected to be confirmed on April 16, so there’s still a small chance things shift again. But even if it does settle around €1,900, the bigger question is whether buyers see enough value there to justify it. As one commenter noted, a Lumix S5D with a zoom lens goes for around €790.

Amid much anticipation, the king of camera phones in 2025 was updated with the vivo X300 Ultra at the end of March 2026.

Among a crowd of Ultra models, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica features the best optical zoom lens in the world, and the stunning colors of the Leica Essential mode leave a deep impression. As for the OPPO Find X9 Ultra, although it hasn’t been released yet, the official has already revealed an exciting piece of information: it will come with a 200MP 3x telephoto, along with the world’s best 10x ultra-telephoto camera.

In contrast, the vivo X300 Ultra doesn’t seem to bring us many surprises, and there are even “downgrades” in its camera specifications. If last year’s X200 Ultra was one of my favorite phones, then this year’s X300 Ultra is probably no longer on that “favorites” list.

Camera

Looking purely at the raw capabilities of the camera system, the X300 Ultra remains one of the strongest contenders. However, when compared to its predecessor, it feels like vivo hasn’t fully pushed the envelope. Most of the upgrades are concentrated on the main camera, which now features a slightly larger sensor and higher pixel count. And It also follows the industry trend by incorporating a 5MP multispectral camera.

The ultra-wide camera remains largely unchanged, while the apertures on both the main and telephoto cameras have actually been reduced. For a device priced over $1,000, seeing such minimal hardware improvements is unlikely to sit well with most users. All that’s left is to hope the real-world camera performance delivers a pleasant surprise.

Teleconverter

That said, for those with ultra-long-distance photography needs, vivo remains a trusted choice. Its teleconverter kit was well-received last year, and the new iteration should be no exception. The new 200mm teleconverter is significantly more compact, and an additional 400mm lens is now available. If you’re determined to capture wildlife on the African savannah or shoot from the back of a concert hall using a smartphone, the X300 Ultra paired with the teleconverter kit might be your best option.

Unlike the hardware, the camera software sees no downgrades. The most notable addition is a new photo color tuning style—no need to guess where the inspiration comes from, right? There are also two new photography styles, said to be developed using vivo’s latest color science. We’ll dive into how effective these new features are in our full review.

Design

Aside from the camera, I also have some reservations about the design. The X300 Ultra is available in three colors. While the black version remains as satisfying as ever, the other two fall short of their counterparts on the X200 Ultra. The white model, in particular, feels a bit overdone—in my opinion, the snow mountain pattern is simply unnecessary. Then again, maybe I’m wrong—maybe it could end up being a favorite for some people.

After a year of trial and error, vivo has finally come to the conclusion that the camera control button was unnecessary—so it’s gone on the X300 Ultra. Personally, I wish they had added an AI button instead; having an extra customizable button is quite convenient for everyday use.

Other

Other changes aren’t very noticeable. For example, the body is slightly thinner, but the weight has increased a bit. Charging power has gone up slightly, and so has the battery capacity, both by around 10%. As for the processor, it’s definitely the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5.

The screen refresh rate has been upgraded to 144Hz, while the resolution remains at 2K (3168×1440), and the display finally uses flat glass. The bezels are very narrow and appear symmetrical on all four sides. There are also some upgrades that aren’t visible from the outside, including an improved vibration motor and top speaker.

During the initial hands-on, the X300 Ultra feels more like an X200s Ultra – far from what I would define as a true next-generation upgrade.

The good news is that we can still safely say it remains one of the most powerful camera phones on the market. If you really love a 35mm main camera, then the X300 Ultra is indeed a more reassuring choice than the Nubia Z80 Ultra. But beyond that, if you are holding an X200 Ultra, I don’t see enough must-buy reasons to upgrade. I would even recommend buying the X200 Ultra instead—it’s not that different from the X300 Ultra, but costs less. Meanwhile, I’m more looking forward to the OPPO Find X9 Ultra, which, based on the rumors we know so far, feels much closer to what the X300 Ultra should have been—the true king of camera phones. In any case, please wait and see whether our real-world tests and full review prove us completely wrong.

Vivo has introduced the Vivo X300 Ultra at its spring launch event, positioning it as a camera-focused flagship with a strong emphasis on professional imaging. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the device combines high-end hardware with an advanced multi-lens system developed in partnership with Zeiss.

Design and build

The X300 Ultra follows a camera-inspired DECO design, drawing from the look of pancake lenses. The design is minimal and functional, with a 2.5D flat display and physical detailing such as a knurled texture and silver trim along the frame edges.

It comes in three finishes. Film Green features an oily sheen inspired by vintage lenses. Silver Tone uses a textured back that reflects light differently. Black remains the standard option. The phone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Performance and cooling

The device runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. Vivo has upgraded thermal management with Ice Pulse Fluid VC cooling. The system increases overall heat dissipation by 14 percent, with a 22 percent larger vapor chamber. Camera system

The 85mm telephoto camera uses a 200MP Samsung HP0 sensor with gimbal-level stabilization and supports up to 60 autofocus operations per second.

To extend zoom capabilities, Vivo offers two external teleconverter modules. The Zeiss G2 Teleconverter provides a 200mm focal length with around 8.7x optical zoom. The Zeiss G2 Ultra Teleconverter extends this to 400mm using a 15-element optical structure.

Imaging software and video

The device includes a Blueprint Original Color Camera system with 12 spectral channels and a dedicated sensor for improved color accuracy. Vivo’s color processing includes Smooth EV compression and a custom color appearance model to handle brightness and tone.

On the video side, the X300 Ultra supports 4K 120fps Dolby Vision and 4K 120fps 10-bit Log recording across all lenses. It includes OIS stabilization on all cameras, a four-microphone array, and support for 3D LUT imports. It also integrates with ACES workflows for professional editing. Built-in cinematic modes include a 24fps film style and a 60fps modern format.

Display and battery

The phone features a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and 2160Hz PWM dimming. It runs Android 16 with Origin OS 6.

It is backed by a 6600mAh battery with 90W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

Vivo is gearing up to launch the Vivo X300 Ultra on March 30 in China. The company already showcased the device at MWC in February, so a global launch is also expected soon.

Ahead of that, the global model of the Vivo X300 Ultra has appeared on Geekbench.

The device, identified by the model number V2562, is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It is paired with 16GB of RAM, runs Android 16, and scored 3,468 points in single-core and 9,644 points in multi-core tests.

Interestingly, the Chinese model of the device, with model number V2547DA, also appeared on Geekbench a few days ago. It posted slightly higher scores, with 3,722 in single-core and 11,621 in multi-core tests.

The processor, RAM, and OS version are the same as the global model, which suggests the latter might still need some optimization.

Vivo X300 Ultra Specifications (Expected)

Vivo X300 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.82-inch 2K BOE display with narrow bezels all around. The Chinese model will pack a 6,600mAh battery, along with 100W wired and 40W wireless charging support. Despite that, the phone reportedly maintains a slim profile at 8.19mm.

Cameras, of course, are the highlights here. It features a 200MP Sony LYTIA-901 main sensor paired with a 50MP LYTIA-828 ultrawide sensor, which was previously used as the X300 Pro’s main sensor. This phone also has a 200MP ISOCELL HP0 prerescope telephoto unit along with a 5MP multi-spectral sensor, which will improve colour accuracy. 

On the audio and recording side, the X300 Ultra introduces a quad-microphone system. The phone also includes customized speakers, featuring a 1697 upward-firing unit and a relatively large 0.8cc sound cavity, which could contribute to louder or fuller audio output.

Last but not least, the device is said to include a high-end 751440 vibration motor for more precise haptic feedback. Vivo is also adding a back-tap gesture feature, allowing users to trigger shortcuts like silent mode, flashlight, or screen recognition functions.

Vivo is getting ready to unveil its next camera-focused flagship, the X300 Ultra, and most of the details are already starting to fall into place. The phone is set to launch on March 30 alongside the more compact X300s, and going by the latest leaks, Vivo is clearly doubling down on photography this year.

Design-wise, the X300 Ultra doesn’t look like a major departure from previous X-series models, but the color options, based on leaked renders, help it stand out. The three variants include a soft green with a dual-tone finish, a clean matte black, and a white option with a similar two-tone look. The design still leans heavily on that large circular camera module at the back, which has pretty much become a signature for Vivo’s flagship line.

The camera setup is where things get interesting. The phone is expected to feature two 200MP sensors, which is unusual even by current flagship standards. Vivo is once again leaning hard into smartphone photography, and its upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra looks like it’s going all in on camera hardware. At a recent imaging-focused event, the company shared detailed specs that make it clear this phone is being positioned less like a typical flagship and more like a compact camera alternative.

The announcement came during Vivo’s Blueprint Imaging Technology Communication Conference, where the brand outlined a new camera system developed in collaboration with Zeiss. The setup follows what Vivo calls a “3+2” configuration, essentially three main sensors backed by additional optical elements and processing tweaks.

The ultra-wide camera uses a 1/1.28-inch Sony LYTIA 818 sensor. That’s unusually large for an ultra-wide, and Vivo is pairing it with its latest VCS bionic spectrum tech and Zeiss T* coating. The company claims improved light capture and CIPA 6.0 level stabilization, which could make wide shots more usable in low light than usual.

The main camera is where things get even more ambitious. Vivo is using the Sony LYTIA 901, a 200MP sensor that hasn’t been seen in a phone before. It’s paired with a new lens setup designed to reduce reflections and improve light intake, along with updates to noise reduction and HDR processing.

Then there’s the telephoto system, which might be the headline feature. Tipster Experience More suggests that the upcoming ultra-flagship smartphones, expected to include the Vivo X300 Ultra launching this month in China and the Oppo Find X9 Ultra arriving next month, will see noticeable price increases. Due to rising storage costs, both devices are tipped to be priced significantly higher than the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, with an estimated increase of around 500 yuan (~$70) for comparable variants.

The tipster adds that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s early-mover advantage was largely due to its pricing. In hindsight, the 500 yuan to 700 yuan price increase over the Xiaomi 15 Ultra now seems relatively minor, especially as upcoming ultra-flagships like the Vivo X300 Ultra and Oppo Find X9 Ultra are expected to launch at noticeably higher prices due to rising storage costs.

To recall, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has been available in China in three versions, such as 12GB+512GB, 16GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB. These variants are priced at 6,999 Yuan (~$1,020), 7,499 Yuan (~$1,080), and 8,499 Yuan (~$1,235), respectively.

With the Vivo X300 Ultra expected to cost 500 yuan more than the 17 Ultra, it is likely that its 12GB+512GB version could be priced at around 7,500 Yuan (~$1,090).

Vivo X300 Ultra key details emerge

As can be seen above, the Vivo X300 Ultra image circulating on Weibo reveals several key details about its specifications. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

The chip is accompanied by 16GB of RAM, 16GB of virtual RAM, and 512GB of internal storage. The screenshot also mentions the inclusion of Vivo’s VS1 and V3+ chips. The VS1 reportedly handles image pre-processing (before ISP), while the V3+ takes care of post-processing (after capture) to enhance final photo and video output.

Coming to the elephant in the room, the Vivo X300 Ultra does not pack a 7,000mAh battery as rumors claimed. Instead, it features a 6,600mAh unit, which is still larger than the 6,510mAh battery that powers the existing Vivo X300 Pro. Therefore, the X300 Ultra’s battery is expected to last more than a day with normal usage. As per recent certifications, the Ultra edition may support 100W wired charging, and as per other reports, it may support 40W or 50W wireless charging.

Speaking of battery size, the Vivo X300s, which is scheduled to launch alongside the X300 Ultra, will pack the largest battery seen on an X-series device. It is said to feature a massive 7,100mAh battery.

These devices, along with the Vivo Pad 6 Pro and a rumored vlogging camera, are also scheduled to launch on March 30. Most of these products may remain exclusive to China, while the X300 Ultra is expected to release globally in the second quarter of this year.

Vivo showed off the first images of the X300 Ultra earlier this week in an official teaser, revealing the phone in a new “Film Green” color. Now the device has surfaced in real-life photos in a beige shade, showing it from nearly every angle.

As you can see, the X300 Ultra features a massive camera module on the back with Zeiss branding. It’s particularly noticeable in the side-angle shot (the second image), which also shows the power and volume buttons. This beige variant also appears to have patterns on the rear panel.

The frame looks to be made of metal, while the bottom houses the usual hardware: microphones, a USB-C port, a speaker grille, and a SIM tray.

More interestingly, one of the leaked photos shows the settings page with key specs for the X300 Ultra. According to the image, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It also includes Vivo’s in-house VS1 and V3+ dual imaging chips.

The device also packs a 6,600mAh battery.

What can you expect?

As you know by now, the X300 Ultra is all about the camera. Its rear setup is said to include a 200-megapixel Sony LYT-901 main lens with a 1/1.12-inch sensor and 35mm focal length, along with a 200-megapixel Samsung HPB periscope telephoto camera at 85mm with Zeiss APO certification

A 50-megapixel Sony LYT-828 ultra-wide lens and a multispectral sensor complete the system.  For selfies, you are likely to get a 50-megapixel front camera with autofocus. 

A previous leak also suggests that the Vivo X300 Ultra could arrive in four configurations: 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB. The top-end model is also tipped to support satellite communication.

Samsung phones with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

The Galaxy S26 series, launched in February 2026, features a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It’s worth noting that only the S26 Ultra gets this chip worldwide, while the S26 and S26+ get the Snapdragon chip in select regions, including the US, Canada, Japan, and China. Other regions, including India, get Exynos 2600.

Vivo has officially revealed the design of its upcoming X300 Ultra and X300s smartphones after several weeks of teasers. The company has shared the first official images, highlighting a camera-inspired design language and a new film-themed color finish. The announcement offers an early look at Vivo’s next-generation flagship imaging smartphones.

Vivo introduces a camera-inspired design approach

According to Vivo product manager Han Boxiao, Vivo refers to the X300 Ultra as a “professional V camera phone,” while the X300s is positioned as a smaller version called the “super V camera phone”. For those who do not know, “V camera phone” refers to Vivo’s concept of a smartphone designed with a camera-first approach, combining professional camera features with a mobile phone form factor.

Both models feature a new “Film Green” color finish that blends classic photography aesthetics with a modern smartphone design. The company suggests the color and styling aim to deliver a mix of retro and contemporary visual appeal.

Both devices also support a long-range telephoto extender kit. The X300 Ultra will support what Vivo calls the “Cannon 400” telephoto system, designed for extreme long-distance photography with a 400mm focal length. The lineup also supports the “Lipstick 200” telephoto mode, intended to offer a lighter and more portable zoom shooting experience.

The X300 Ultra is expected to focus heavily on professional video recording. It will support 4K 120fps 10-bit Log recording across multiple focal lengths, along with Dolby Vision recording and cinematic slow-motion video at the same resolution.

Industry sources suggest that Vivo may officially launch the X300 Ultra, X300s, and the Vivo Pad6 Pro tablet on March 30, with market availability likely beginning on April 3.

Ahead of the expected March 30 launch, new details about the Vivo X300 Ultra has surfaced online. Vivo product manager Han Boxiao has shared details about the device’s video capabilities, highlighting improvements designed for both everyday recording and professional content creation.

Professional video recording receives a major upgrade

According to the executive, the upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra continues the evolution that started with the Vivo X200 Pro, whose video capabilities received strong feedback from users across different markets. The new model is said to focus heavily on professional recording, offering improvements in hardware processing, shooting controls and post-production flexibility.

One of the most notable additions is support for full focal length 4K 120fps 10bit Log recording. The previous generation delivered full focal length 4K 60fps Log video, but the X300 Ultra doubles the frame rate to 120fps. This improvement is expected to provide smoother footage and greater flexibility during editing. Importantly, all three rear cameras are said to support the same recording specifications, which removes limitations across focal lengths and ensures consistent output regardless of the lens used.

The phone is also said to introduce a more advanced Professional Video Mode with a redesigned interface. The recording screen reportedly presents shooting information more clearly while allowing creators to adjust a wide range of parameters. Another notable feature is the ability to preview 3D LUT colour profiles while recording Log footage. This allows creators to evaluate colours and tone in real time instead of waiting until the editing stage.

For post-production workflows, the device is claimed to support APV 422 professional video encoding. This format allows for a wider colour range and greater editing flexibility. Vivo says the Log footage can integrate directly into ACES colour workflows that are commonly used in film production, enabling easier collaboration with cinema cameras during colour grading.

Reports have revealed that apart from the Vivo X300 Ultra, the March 30 launch event is also likely to introduce the Vivo X300s smartphone and the Vivo Pad 6 Pro tablet.

According to the shared screenshot, the Vivo X300 Ultra, Vivo X300s, and the Pad 6 Pro are expected to be announced on March 30. The same information also indicates that the devices may become available for purchase starting April 3. Multiple bloggers reportedly shared the image online, hinting that the information may have originated from retail channel communication or early distribution details.

Vivo X300 Ultra, X300s, Pad 6 Pro storage variants and color options

The Vivo X300 Ultra is said to arrive in four configurations: 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, 16GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB. The top-end model is tipped to include satellite communication support. Color options mentioned in the leak include green, black, and silver.

For the Vivo X300s, the configurations listed include 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, 16GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB. The smartphone may be offered in green, purple, white, and black color options.

Meanwhile, the Vivo Pad 6 Pro tablet could come in five variants: 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, 16GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB. The tablet is expected to be available in blue, purple, and gray finishes.

There is no information on whether the Pad 6 Pro will be released globally. The X300 Ultra is rumored to hit the global market by the second quarter, whereas the X300s may remain confined to the Chinese market for some time. Later, it may get rebranded as the Vivo X300T in India.

Vivo’s upcoming X300 Ultra is starting to appear more frequently in leaks and teasers, and the company is once again putting a strong focus on camera hardware. In the latest teaser, Vivo executive Han Bo Xiao shared early camera samples on Weibo.

The posts highlight the phone’s primary and telephoto camera, which uses the 200MP Sony LYT-901 and 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HPO sensor, respectively. Unlike many smartphones that stick closer to a 23–24mm focal length for the main camera, this one uses a 35mm equivalent lens for the main camera. The camera is tuned in collaboration with Zeiss, something Vivo has relied on heavily in its flagship models.

The sensor is reportedly capable of capturing about 30 percent more light per pixel compared to previous generations. Some of the shared images show strong details and fairly natural colors. The size of the main sensor is also quite large at 1/1.12 inches, which should help with low-light photography.

Vivo is also said to support external teleconverter accessories, allowing focal lengths around 200mm or 400mm. In one of the examples shared online, zoom levels equivalent to roughly 1600mm have been demonstrated, though that clearly involved heavy digital cropping.

Beyond cameras, the phone has also surfaced on Geekbench under model number V2562. The listing points to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, along with 16GB of RAM and Android 16. The benchmark scores themselves look fairly average, but that’s not unusual for early tests on a camera-focused device.

Vivo hasn’t confirmed an exact launch date. However, a well-known Weibo tipster, Bald Panda, claims the X300 Ultra could arrive in China before the end of March 2026. Some speculation points to March 30 as a possible launch day.

Realme Narzo Power – 10,001mAh

Launched earlier this month, the Realme Narzo Power stands out as the phone with the largest battery in this list. It houses an enormous 10,001mAh battery, which is far larger than the capacity typically seen in mainstream smartphones. The device also features 80W wired charging, allowing the massive battery to refill relatively quickly.

In addition to battery endurance, the Narzo Power offers competitive hardware for its segment. It features a 144Hz curved-edge AMOLED display, the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, and a 50-megapixel dual-camera system. The phone is priced from Rs 26,999 (~$295), positioning it as a mid-range device with an unusually large battery.

iQOO Z11- 9,020mAh (upcoming)

The iQOO Z11 is the only unannounced phone on our list. Confirmed to launch this month in China, the Z11 will house a mammoth 9,020mAh battery. Apart from this, the phone is expected to feature a 6.83-inch OLED screen with a 165Hz refresh rate, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. The brand is yet to reveal its design, but it is likely to have the same design language as the existing Z11 Turbo. At present, there’s no information about the phone’s availability outside the Chinese market.

Poco X8 Pro Max – 9,000mAh

The Poco X8 Pro Max is scheduled to launch globally on March 17. It is expected to become the largest battery phone from Poco so far. Reports suggest that the Indian variant may include a 9,000mAh battery, while the global model could feature a slightly smaller 8,550mAh unit.

The device is believed to be a rebranded version of China’s Redmi Turbo 5 Max, which also packs a 9,000mAh battery. If the specifications remain similar, the X8 Pro Max could offer a strong combination of performance and endurance in the upper mid-range segment.

Poco X8 Pro – 7,560mAh

The Vivo X300 Ultra is expected to debut in China around March 30. Early reports suggest that it may include a battery close to 7,000mAh, which is quite large for a flagship camera-focused smartphone.

The phone will be an ultimate phone for photography as it confirmed to feature a 200-megapixel Sony LYT-901 main camera, a 200-megapixel Samsung HP0 periscope telephoto camera, a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-818 ultra-wide lens, and a 5-megapixel multispectral sensor. The global launch is expected in Q2 2026.

Vivo X300s – Around 7,000mAh

The Vivo X300s, which is expected to launch alongside the Vivo X300 Ultra, may also pack a 7,000mAh battery. So far, the brand has confirmed that the device will feature a 6.78-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 200-megapixel main camera. It remains unclear whether the phone will be released in markets outside of China anytime soon.

Vivo X300 FE – 6,500mAh

The Vivo X300 FE recently went official quietly in Russia last week. The device packs a 6,500mAh battery, which is quite large considering its compact form factor. It features a 6.3-inch display and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, making it a powerful yet relatively small smartphone with impressive battery capacity.

Vivo has revealed two new ZEISS telephoto extender lenses for the upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra, aimed at pushing smartphone photography further into long-range shooting. The 400mm teleconverter was earlier showcased at MWC 2026, and now the company’s product manager Han Boxiao has also confirmed details about a 200mm variant. These accessories are designed to significantly extend zoom capabilities while maintaining strong image clarity.

Vivo X300 Ultra to support 200mm and 400mm telephoto extender lenses

The first accessory is a 400mm telephoto extender G2 Ultra, which is designed for creators in mind. According to Boxiao, the lens delivers an equivalent 400mm focal length, which currently represents one of the highest magnification levels seen in smartphone add-on optics. When paired with Vivo X300 Ultra’s 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, the system can produce direct optical images at extremely long focal lengths. Using a 23mm equivalent focal length as the baseline 1x zoom, the setup effectively reaches about 17.4x pure optical zoom with the 200-megapixel sensor.

Vivo also claims that the telephoto camera now supports improved optical stabilization, including around 3° optical stabilization along with a new high-refresh tracking system capable of maintaining focus at up to 60fps. Even after attaching the extender lens, the setup reportedly maintains CIPA 4.5-level stabilisation. The company suggests that this allows users to capture usable shots even at focal lengths as extreme as 1600mm, making distant subjects such as wildlife or stage performances easier to photograph.

A lighter 200mm extender designed for portability

Alongside the larger accessory, Vivo has also introduced a redesigned second-generation 200mm extender lens G2. This version is intended to be lighter and easier to carry. The company states that its weight has been reduced by 27 percent, bringing it down to around 153 grams while also shrinking the overall size.

Despite the smaller body, the optical design has been upgraded. The lens now includes 15 elements instead of the earlier 13, which is expected to improve image clarity while maintaining strong stabilization rated at CIPA 6.5. Vivo says the compact design makes it practical for everyday shooting without compromising telephoto performance.

These accessories are part of Vivo’s broader ZEISS camera ecosystem built around multiple focal lengths. The system covers lenses ranging from ultra-wide 14mm to standard 35mm and portrait-friendly 85mm, along with the longer 200mm and 400mm options. The above image also shows a 2.35x ZEISS telephoto extender, which works with existing X300 models. Likely, it will also be supported by the X300 Ultra.

Vivo is expected to unveil the Vivo X300 Ultra later this month, and speculation suggests the brand may also introduce the Vivo X300 Max alongside it. The X300 Max was reportedly displayed in a confidential case at MWC 2026 recently. Today, Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao confirmed that there is no Vivo X300 Max. Instead, this device will debut with the Vivo X300s branding. He also confirmed several details about the device.

Vivo X300s moniker confirmed

According to Boxiao, the company had internally discussed naming the device the Vivo X300 Max due to the scale of its upgrades. However, Vivo eventually chose to keep the “s” naming convention, similar to the previous X-series refresh.

The Vivo X300s is aimed at users who want a large-screen flagship without compromising on imaging. While many recent imaging-focused models have shifted to compact displays, this device combines a bigger screen with strong camera capabilities.

The “s” reportedly stands for “SuperMax,” highlighting improvements across multiple areas, particularly performance. Vivo also suggests that the X300s will sit alongside the X300 Ultra, offering a balance between powerful photography and flagship hardware.

Boxiao revealed that the Vivo X300s will have a 6.78-inch BOE Q10 Plus panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. This would make it the first device in the X series to support such a high refresh rate, and it is also said to support native 144FPS gameplay in certain MOBA titles. The display will support Zeiss color tuning and circular polarization technology designed to improve eye comfort.

Audio performance is also set to improve with the inclusion of symmetric 1115 dual speakers similar to those found on the iQOO 15. The system includes upgraded amplifiers and algorithms to deliver a wider sound field. Vivo claims that gaming audio cues such as footsteps and gunfire can become significantly clearer, helping players identify positions more easily.

The phone will also include a large customized 4D vibration motor designed to deliver stronger and more detailed haptic feedback. The motor is said to support enhanced vibration effects in more than ten popular mobile games, allowing users to experience stronger tactile responses during gameplay. He added that this will be the largest and most powerful vibration motor ever included in an X-series device.

Boxiao has also confirmed that the device will be equipped with a Zeiss 200-megapixel image sensor. However, he did not reveal any other camera-related information.

Previous reports have revealed that the X300s will feature a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera in its triple camera setup. It will have a Dimensity 9500 chip and a battery of around 7,000mAh capacity. It may offer 90W wired and 40W wireless charging and run on OriginOS 6-based Android 16. It is also said to have an IP68/69-rated dust- and water-resistant chassis.

Last week, he confirmed specifications of the phone’s main and periscope telephoto cameras. In his latest update, Boxiao has now shared new information about the device’s ultra-wide camera, while also teasing the presence of another unusual sensor hidden within the camera module.

Vivo X300 Ultra’s ultra-wide camera details revealed

According to Boxiao, the Vivo X300 Ultra will feature a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera built around the Sony LYTIA-818 sensor. The lens is expected to offer a 14mm focal length, making it suitable for landscapes and wide scenes. With a 1/1.28-inch sensor size, Vivo claims this will be among the largest sensors used for an ultra-wide camera in a smartphone.

The larger sensor is also expected to improve video recording. Boxiao explained that ultra-wide cameras are often important for video capture because they help deliver stable footage. On the X300 Ultra, stabilization is said to improve from the previous generation’s CIPA 5.0 rating to CIPA 6.0. The bigger sensor can also help gather more light, which may improve low-light video quality.

The above image hides another camera sensor under the sunglasses emoji. While he did not reveal the exact details, he suggested that this unusually powerful new sensor and the device’s upgraded color processing will be discussed in a future update. This could be the rumored 5-megapixel multispectral lens.

Earlier disclosures revealed that the Vivo X300 Ultra will introduce Sony’s LYTIA-901 sensor globally as part of its main camera system. Boxiao’s latest Weibo post reveals that the Vivo X300 Ultra will feature a fifth-generation ZEISS 200-megapixel “Thanos” periscope telephoto camera based on a Samsung HP0 sensor. The camera is paired with Vivo’s BlueImage imaging technology, which brings optimisations in areas such as colour accuracy, autofocus performance, HDR processing and power efficiency.

The X300 Ultra is said to introduce a large-sensor telephoto lens with 3° optical image stabilization, marking the return of Vivo’s earlier gimbal-style stabilization concept. Traditional telephoto lenses usually offer stabilization in the range of 0.7° to 1°, while the X200 Ultra reached 1.2°. The new system reportedly increases stabilization performance by two to three times, delivering what Vivo describes as gimbal-level steadiness.

According to Boxiao, the telephoto camera achieves CIPA 7.0-level professional stabilization, a standard typically associated with dedicated cameras. This allows longer and steadier exposure times, improving light intake and making high-zoom photography easier even for casual users. The stabilization is particularly useful when shooting at long focal lengths such as 200mm, 400mm, or beyond, especially in handheld video scenarios.

By this, the Vivo X300 Ultra will debut as the world’s first flagship phone equipped with dual 200-megapixel cameras. Recent reports have revealed that the rear camera setup is also expected to include a Sony LYT-828 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 5-megapixel multispectral sensor for color accuracy.

Vivo’s next flagship camera phone, the Vivo X300 Ultra, has started appearing in fresh leaks revealing key details about its display, design, and imaging system. A new tip from Digital Chat Station suggests that the device could bring notable changes compared to the previous generation, particularly in display design and camera capabilities.

Vivo X300 Ultra display and design details tipped

According to the leak, the Vivo X300 Ultra will feature a 6.82-inch display supplied by BOE. The panel is said to offer a 2K+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate and support LTPO technology for dynamic refresh rate adjustment. The screen will reportedly adopt a flat design with regular rounded corners instead of the quad-curved panels used in earlier models.

The tipster also claims the display will have extremely narrow bezels on all four sides, creating a symmetrical look around the panel. This marks a shift away from the equal-depth curved screens that previously appeared on several flagship phones. The change could improve grip, screen protection compatibility, and overall usability.

In addition to the new display design, the Vivo X300 Ultra is said to include a slightly larger battery than the Vivo X300 Pro. However, the battery capacity is not expected to reach the 7,000mAh mark that had been rumoured earlier. Under the hood, it will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

The Vivo X300 Ultra is also expected to support advanced video features such as full focal length 4K 120fps recording with Dolby Vision and optical stabilisation across lenses. Vivo is reportedly preparing a new photography kit as well, including a 400mm telephoto converter and a professional camera grip designed to extend the phone’s long-distance shooting capabilities.

Tipster Digital Chat Station also hinted that, besides the already known telephoto converter, there may be another accessory that has not surfaced yet. According to the tipster, this additional telephoto accessory could be designed to suit regular photography enthusiasts rather than only professional users.

Vivo officially unveiled the X300 Ultra at Mobile World Congress 2026, and now the company is sharing more details about the phone’s video chops. 

In a post on Weibo, Vivo product manager Han Boxiao laid out what he calls the key camera upgrades coming to the X300 Ultra. According to him, the X300 Ultra is aiming to be a “pocket camera” for creators.

Vivo X300 Ultra can record 10-bit Log from all three lenses

One of the headline features is what Vivo calls its “no secondary camera” Zeiss Master Lens Trinity. In practical terms, the company says all focal lengths — from wide to telephoto — will support 4K 120fps 10-bit Log recording. The same applies to 4K 120fps Dolby Vision capture and optical image stabilization across all focal lengths.

The consistency carries over into post-production. The X300 Ultra supports APV 422 professional video encoding, which Vivo claims brings output closer to what you’d expect from a dedicated camera. 

Moreover, Log footage can load and apply 3D LUTs and custom LUTs during recording, enabling real-time color calibration on set. It’s also compatible with ACES workflows, so Log clips can drop into professional cinema pipelines without heavy conversion.

As for the audio, the X300 Ultra has a four-microphone system with six preset scenes designed to enhance target audio while reducing ambient noise. 

For more casual use, Vivo is adding two cinematic color presets: Film Style and Film Look. These are designed to deliver more polished, one-tap results without requiring manual grading. The official says that sample photos and videos in these modes will be shared later.

The device is also tipped to feature a 6.82-inch 2K BOE flat display with narrow bezels and LTPO technology. It will pack the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and a battery of around 7,000mAh capacity with 100W wired and 40W wireless charging support.
