As TENNA website suggests, the different version of the device will be a bit thicker – at 5.1 mm and a tad heavier – 153g (original Vivo X5Max is 146g). Also, the device is said to use a more energy-efficient eight-core MediaTek MT6752 processor, which can effectively enhance its 2000mAh battery life (will see if it works out in our review in the future).

As far as other specs go, Vivo X5Max+ will have pretty much identical specs as its thinner brother, which include 5.5 inches 1080P screen, built-in 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (expandable up to 128 via Micro SD card slot). Moreover, there will be a 13 and 5mp camera modules on the back and front, respectively. The device will be run by the Funtouch OS 2.0, which is based on Android 4.4.4 and support both 3G and 4G networks. Last but not least, the smartphone will have Vivo’s signature Hi-Fi system (upgraded 2.0 version). Finally, the price point is said to be 2999 Yuan in China. We don’t have a word on international pricing or availability yet.

Today, Vivo revealed in their Weibo account that their new phone, the Vivo X5Max will have a 3.5mm earphone jack. It was previously leaked that this phone would have a thickness of 4.65mm. As you can see in the photo, the earphone jack nearly reaches the ends of the phone.

Furthermore, a Vivo insider also revealed that the Vivo X5Max would also use a Super AMOLED display screen made by Samsung. This screen only has a thickness of 1.36mm.

A Super AMOLED screen is actually pretty expensive as only Samsung has it so we can expect to increase the cost of the Vivo X5Max. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Well then, how far Vivo can go?

From the leaked news, , Vivo X5 Max’ thickness is only 4.75mm, much thinner than R5. Most importantly, X5 Max can accommodate a 3.5mm headphone jack. Is it real?

Recently, Mr. Lei Feng, the Chief Marketing Officer of Vivo, has divulged through his Weibo that the upcoming X5 Max will supposedly keep its 3.5mm audio jack so it will guarantee users experiencing Hi-Fi class sound quality. Vivo will not compromise on the thickness, which is the best proof towards ” Perfection”.

How did Vivo achieve this thickness? Vivo explained that 90% of the chips have been moved along one side of the screen, among which 700 pieces of 786 components. This comes with a thickness of 1.77mm only.

A 4.75mm Smartphone accommodates with a 3.5mm headphone jack is truly unbelievable! Does mobile phone need to continuously slim down to less than 4mm? Let’s have a look at it…
