The lineup consists of the Vivo X80 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/04/25/vivo-x80-pro-launch-2-variant-50mp-camera-2k-display/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">the X80 Pro</a>. Out of the two, the vanilla X80 model comes with the latest Sony sensor for its primary camera and brings along the impressive <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mediatek/">MediaTek</a> Dimensity 9000 SoC. So let&#8217;s take a detailed look at the specifications and features of this device.</p>
<h3>Design &amp; Display</h3>
<p>Design-wise, the X80 follows in the footsteps of its predictors featuring the classic &#8220;cloud step design&#8221; with some improvements. The device has a large rectangular camera island on the back, housing a triple camera setup in a circular module with the ZEISS branding.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-456701 " src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80.png?x96852" alt="Vivo X80" width="531" height="529" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80.png 749w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-300x300.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-696x694.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-421x420.png 421w" sizes="(max-width: 531px) 100vw, 531px" /></p>
<p>The device features curved edges and a flat back panel. The power button and volume rocker are housed on the right edge of the device.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x80/">Vivo X80</a> is equipped with a curved 6.78 inch FHD+ 120Hz E5 AMOLED display on the front with a centered hole punch housing the selfie camera. The display panel is capable of 1500 nits of brightness and covers 100% of the P3 color gamut. The device has narrow bezels going around it which are only noticeable on the top and bottom.</p>
<h3>Specs</h3>
<p>The Vivo X80 houses the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 flagship SoC under its hood. The SoC comes paired with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The company has claimed that the device has an AnTuTu score of over one million points with the highest score achieved being a mind-blowing 1,049,081 points.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-456702 size-large" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-specs-1024x550.png?x96852" alt="Vivo X80" width="1024" height="550" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-specs-1024x550.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-specs-300x161.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-specs-768x412.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-specs-696x374.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-specs-1068x573.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-specs-782x420.png 782w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-specs.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>The device is also quite good in gaming applications as it has achieved the KPL (King Pro League) competition machine test certification beating able to run the game stably for 4 hours in both modes of &#8220;90 frames + extreme picture quality&#8221; and &#8220;120 frames + high-definition picture quality.&#8221;</p>
<p>To keep the device cool, the Vivo X80 features a VC liquid cooling solution with a soaking plate covering an area of 4285mm², making it the largest soaking plate on a Vivo device so far.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-456703 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-battery.png?x96852" alt="Vivo X80" width="978" height="925" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-battery.png 978w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-battery-300x284.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-battery-768x726.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-battery-696x658.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-battery-444x420.png 444w" sizes="(max-width: 978px) 100vw, 978px" /></p>

However, there wasn&#8217;t any clue about the exact sensor and its type. Now, the tipster <a href="https://weibo.com/6734482564/LlW9z3aeV" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>@BaldPanda</em></a> has revealed some details about this sensor enticing us even more for its official release.</p>
<p>The tipster reveals that the Vivo X80 will come with a Sony IMX886 main lens. The sensor will be 1/1.56 inches and will adopt an RGBW arrangement. Unfortunately, the tipster hasn&#8217;t revealed the pixels of this sensor on the phone, but it is expected to be more than 50MP.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-451835 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Vivo-X80-camera.png?x96852" alt="Vivo X80 " width="630" height="135" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Vivo-X80-camera.png 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Vivo-X80-camera-300x64.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px" /></p>
<p>Also, we aren&#8217;t sure about the other lenses on the phone. If we go by the standard setup, the phone may have ultra-wide and telephoto sensors as secondary and tertiary lenses. The camera is also expected to be backed by the Vivo V1 Image Signal Processor, just like the predecessor.</p>
<p>Other than the cameras, this time, the Vivo X80 series will have the X80 and X80 Pro. There are slim chances of the brand continuing the Plus model as the company is currently teasing the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/vivo-x-fold">Vivo X Fold</a> as the top-end model.</p>
