With the Vivo X80 series launch being just around the corner, there have been various rumors and reports regarding the device surfacing online in the past few days. Now, the latest one has revealed the complete specs of the higher end X80 Pro model.

According to a 91Mobiles report, known tipster Ishan Agarwal has shared the full specifications list of the X80 Pro ahead of its launch in China, which is set to be unveiled on April 25. For those unaware, the X80 series is the Chinese smartphone maker’s latest flagship offering and is expected to include three models. Namely, the base X80, X80 Pro, and the X80 Pro+ variant as well. Now as per the tipster, the Vivo X80 Pro will feature top notch specs and features.

On the front, the device will apparently sport a 6.78 inch AMOLED display that has a 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 300Hz touch sampling rate. This panel will even include an in display fingerprint reader as well. Under the hood, the premium grade handset will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, which will be paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.

Meanwhile, the rear features a quad camera setup that consists of a 50 megapixel primary sensor, 48 megapixel ultra wide angle lens, 12 megapixel portrait telephoto shooter, and an 8 megapixel periscope lens that offers 5x optical and 60x digital zoom as well. The device will be powered by a large 4,700mAh battery pack that supports 80W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. For software, it is expected to run on the Android 12 OS based OriginOS Ocean. Vivo’s upcoming flagship offering will be the Vivo X80 series. The series will comprise the X80, X80 Pro, and X80 Pro Plus smartphones. While the details for the vanilla X80 are scarce, we do know that the Pro and Pro Plus will power Dimensity and Snapdragon chips, respectively. Now, the popular tipster DigitalChatStation has cryptically revealed the Dimensity-powered Vivo X80 Pro will come with Sony’s IMX8-series sensor.

The tipster reveals that, as for Vivo, the IMX8-series sensor will be supported by a Dimensity 9000-powered device. As of now, the Vivo X80 Pro is the only upcoming Vivo phone to come with the aforementioned chipset. Having said that, we can believe that the upcoming Vivo X80 Pro will come with the new IMX8-series or IMX800 sensor.

As per the tipster, this IMX8-series sensor will be a 50MP primary unit. To recall, the previous rumors have revealed that the X80 Pro will come with a 50MP + 12MP + 12MP + 12MP quad-camera setup. So, the 50MP tipped unit is in line with the past leaks, however, the previous leak revealed an IMX789 sensor, instead of the now rumored IMX8-series/IMX800 sensor.

Furthermore, the tipster says that the phone will also have the V1 Image Signal Processor. To those unaware, the Vivo V1 is the company’s self-developed chip that offers an array of benefits. The chip brings better image processing and also enables high computing power and low power consumption. Currently, the Vivo X70 series has the V1 ISP.

The Vivo could be amongst the first devices with the IMX8/IMX800 series sensor. Honor will be another brand to bring this sensor to its phones. A recent leak from @RODENT950 revealed that the Honor Magic 4 Pro+ will also feature an IMX800 sensor.

Other than this, the Vivo X80 Pro is tipped to come with a 6.78-inch FHD+ E5 AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit color depth. It will have the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC paired with 6GB/8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB of USF 3.1 internal storage.

As mentioned earlier, it will have a 50MP quad-camera system. The secondary lens will be a 12MP ultra-wide lens(IMX663 sensor), a 12MP tertiary lens with 2x optical zoom, and lastly a 12MP telephoto lens with 10x hybrid and 60x “code zoom”. It is said to have a 32MP selfie shooter.

It will pack a 4,700mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support. The phone will run on Android 12 OS and have an in-display fingerprint scanner. The device is tipped to cost around CNY 5,699(~$898).
