Chinese tech giant Vivo is preparing to launch its new affordable smartphones Vivo Y18t and Vivo Y18i. Gizmochina has spotted the Vivo Y18t and Y18i in the IMEI database. The company aims to gain a place in the affordable smartphone market with its two new models.

Vivo Y18t and Vivo Y18i

Vivo is trying to increase competition in the budget smartphone market. The company will launch its new budget smartphones Y18t and Y18i in the near future. The Vivo Y18t will have the model number “V2408” while the Vivo Y18i will have the model number “V2414”. We don’t have any detailed information about these two devices. However, the Vivo Y18t and Vivo Y18i can offer several improvements compared to their successors.

Vivo Y18 featured a 6.56-inch IPS LCD display with 720p resolution and 90Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, 50MP main camera and 8MP front camera. The Vivo Y18t and Vivo Y18i are expected to have more advanced features. However, the technical specifications of these two devices are unknown.

The launch dates and prices of Vivo’s new Y18t and Y18i have not yet been announced. However, these devices are expected to be affordable. In this way, the company will appeal to a wide range of users.

Vivo has just unveiled a new Y series smartphone model in India. The device in question is the brand’s latest budget grade handset, which packs some notable specs and features despite its affordable price tag. This announcement arrives mere days after the company unveiled the Vivo Y18e, so let’s check it out.

Vivo Y18 Specs

The Chinese brand’s new Y18 model sports a 6.56-inch LCD panel that offers HD+ resolution, TUV Rheinland certification, and 840 nits of peak brightness. While it comes with lower resolution, it makes up for detail with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate screen. Under the hood, it is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC that is paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Users can expand the storage via microSD card slot and even raise the RAM via 4GB virtual RAM expansion. The Vivo Y18 packs a 50-megapixel dual camera setup on the rear, while the front houses an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.

A large 5,000mAh battery pack powers this device, which supports 15 wired fast charging via USB Type-C. Although, it is worth noting that the retail box does not include the charging brick. Other notable features include Android 14 OS based FunTouch OS 14 custom skin, side mounted fingerprint scanner, and an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance.

Vivo Y18 Pricing & Availability

The Vivo Y18 has a starting price tag of 8,999 INR (roughly 108 US Dollars) for the 4GB + 64GB storage configuration. Meanwhile, the 4GB + 128GB option costs 9,999 INR (roughly 120 US Dollars). It is available for purchase through the Vivo eStore. You can get your hands on this smartphone in a Space Black and Gem Green color variant.

Vivo is apparently working on a new Y series smartphone, which could be dubbed the Vivo Y18. This model was just spotted on the Google Play Console listing, revealing some of its key specifications. So here is everything you need to know.

Vivo Y18 may be a rebranded Y03

To recall, the Chinese smartphone brand unveiled the new Vivo Y03 earlier this week. But prior to its release, it was spotted on certification platforms like NBTC with the V2332 model number. Now, the Vivo Y18 has surfaced on the Google Play Console database with the V2333 model number. In other words, the Vivo Y18 is likely a rebadged version of the Y03 for different markets.

If this is true, we can expect the specifications of the two Y series smartphones to be similar. Back in February 2024, the Vivo Y18 was also spotted alongside the Y03 on the Bluetooth SIG certification that revealed support for Bluetooth 5.0 standard. The Google Play Console listing also offers us a look at the front and back of the Y18, which showcases a design that resembles the Y03. Furthermore, the Vivo Y18 was listed with the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC.

This chipset is paired with 6GB of RAM and the device runs on the Android 14 OS out of the box. The RAM is one of the only differences in specs since the Y03 launched with 4GB of RAM. Unfortunately, this is all the information we have at the moment, so stay tuned for more updates.

In January, a couple of new Vivo phones, such as the Vivo V40 SE 5G, Vivo V30 SE, and Vivo Y200e 5G, were spotted in the database of the Bluetooth SIG certification. Now, another set of upcoming Vivo phones has emerged in the Bluetooth SIG’s database. The new certifications reveal the existence of a new iQOO phone as well as a few Vivo phones.

Upcoming Vivo / iQOO phones

The above screenshot reveals the existence of the iQOO Z9 5G and the Vivo T3 5G. Both have been spotted with model numbers I2302 and V2334, respectively. The specifications of these smartphones are not known yet.

The Chinese edition of the iQOO Z9 is expected to feature the Dimensity 8300. However, it is unclear whether the same device will be released in India. The Vivo T3 5G is expected to replace the Snapdragon 695-powered Vivo T2 5G, which debuted in India with a price tag of Rs 18,999 in April last year. The certification reveals that the iQOO Z9 and Vivo T3 will support Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.

The above screenshot shows the existence of three other devices. Devices bearing model numbers V2332, V2333, and V2350 will have marketing names, such as the Vivo Y03, Vivo Y18, and Vivo Y18e, respectively. The model number V2345 is also associated with the Vivo Y18. All these devices support Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Unfortunately, the rumor mill is yet to leak the specifications of these devices.

Devices that receive Bluetooth SIG certification are known to go official in around one month. Hence, there is a possibility that some of these devices may go official later this month or in March.
