There are still a lot of people who do not need the 5G connectivity, indeed the main smartphone manufacturers keep releasing several 4G phones in the midrange segment. The most advanced 4G chipset is the Snapdragon 680 and it is powering a lot of devices in the affordable segment. Among the latest ones, we got the OPPO A76, the Realme 9i, and the Vivo Y32. This is a comparison between the specifications of three among the best 4G phones out there.

Design

The most attractive design is definitely the one of the OPPO A76: it comes with the special OPPO Glow finish providing a matte back with brilliant elements. The Vivo Y32 is the thinnest, the most lightweight, and the most compact phone of the trio, but the OPPO A76 is more suggestive thanks to that finish. Note that OPPO A76 and Realme 9i come with a punch-hole design, while the Vivo Y32 comes with a less impressive waterdrop notch. All the phones are built with polycarbonate.

Display

If you are looking for the best display, then you should opt for the Realme 9i. It is the only device in the trio to sport the Full HD+ resolution with 1080 x 2412 pixels, and it even comes with a 90 Hz refresh rate. The OPPO A76 goes up to 90 Hz as well, but it has a lower HD+ resolution of 720p. The Vivo Y32 has an HD+ display as well, and its refresh rate is standard. All of these phones are equipped with side-mounted fingerprint readers and they all come with IPS panels, so do not expect amazing image quality.

Specs & Software

As already mentioned, all of these phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 mobile platform. It lacks the 5G connectivity, but it is built at 6 nm so it is very efficient, and it even provides good CPU performance thanks to Kryo 265 Gold cores running at a max frequency of 2.4 GHz. You can get up to 8 GB of RAM with the Vivo Y32, while you get a max of 6 GB RAM with the OPPO A76 and the Realme 9i. That is the reason why Vivo Y32 wins the hardware comparison. On the other hand, the A76 comes with more advanced software: ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11.

Camera

The best camera is provided by the Realme 9i: it is the only one with a 50 MP main camera, while both its rival come with a disappointing 13 MP rear camera. Even the front camera is better: it is a good 16 MP front snapper against two 8 MP sensors found on the OPPO A76 and the Vivo Y32. The rear cameras of the OPPO and Vivo devices are exactly the same.

Battery

All these phones feature a 5000 mAh battery, so we expect a similar battery life in most of the scenarios. But given that Realme 9i has a Full HD+ display, its energy consumption is higher. The OPPO A76 and the Realme 9i provide faster charging speeds thanks to 33W fast charging, while the Vivo Y32 with 18W fast charging is the only one to support reverse charging.

Price

The OPPO A76 is priced at Rs. 17,499 / $231 in India, the Realme 9i starts from Rs. 12,990 / $172, and the Vivo Y32 will sell for Rs. 16,990 / $225. The Realme 9i wins the comparison thanks to a better display and a superior camera.

Despite the large diffusion of 5G, 4G-only phones are still a big thing and a lot of people still choose them because they often allow saving a lot of money. That is why we had the chance to make a comparison between the Redmi Note 11 4G and two more recent 4G phones: the Realme 9i which just launched in the European market as well, and the Vivo Y32. They all come with great prices, but which one offers the highest value for money? This specs comparison will hopefully let you find out.

Design

My favorite design of this comparison is the one of the Realme 9i. It has a more elegant camera module than Redmi Note 11 4G, is less invasive, and with the same color as the rear cover. Further, unlike the Vivo Y32 that comes with a waterdrop notch, it comes with a punch-hole design for the display: the punch hole is placed on the top left corner. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 11 4G remains interesting because it is the most compact phone of the trio. All of these devices are made of polycarbonate for both the rear side and the frame.

Display

The most advanced displays belong to the Redmi Note 11 4G and the Realme 9i. They have two LCD panels with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080p and a 90 Hz refresh rate. The Realme 9i has a wider 6.6-inch panel, while the Redmi Note 11 4G stops at 6.5 inches. Unfortunately, the Vivo Y32 has a lower HD+ resolution with 720p and it comes with a standard 60 Hz refresh rate, so expect an inferior image quality. All the phones are equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

Specs & Software

The Snapdragon 680 mobile platform found on the Realme 9i and the Vivo Y32 is actually more powerful than the MediaTek Helio G88 chipset found on the Redmi Note 11 4G. Between these two, the Vivo Y32 wins the hardware comparison because it offers up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage, while the Realme 9i stops at 6 GB of RAM. The trio runs Android 11 out of the box, with highly customized user interfaces on top. Do you prefer MIUI, Realme UI or OriginOS?

Camera

The best rear camera department belongs to the Redmi Note 11 4G which offers a 40 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro sensor. The Realme 9i has the same 50 MP main camera, but it lacks an ultrawide sensor, replaced by a useless depth sensor. The Vivo Y32 comes with a poor 13 MP dual camera, but its front camera is more interesting thanks to an f/1.8 focal aperture which should allow capturing brighter selfies.

Battery

All of these phones are equipped with a 5000 mAh battery, but the Vivo Y32 should last more on a single charge because it has a display with a lower resolution and a standard refresh rate. The Realme 9i has the fastest charging technology with a power of 33W, but unlike its two rivals, it does not support reverse charging.

Price

Redmi Note 11 4G starts from $157/€138 in China, Vivo Y32 begins at €140/$159, and Realme 9i is currently unavailable in the Chinese market but it can be purchased in India for $203/€179. The Realme 9i wins the comparison thanks to its great chipset, faster charging, and great overall specifications.

Now, the company is gearing to launch another phone soon as a phone dubbed Vivo Y32 has appeared on TENAA certification.

The Vivo Y32 carries the model number V2158A and sports a Vivo Y33s-like design. For those who are unaware, the Vivo Y33s was launched last month and it seems that Y32 will be its sibling with a similar design footprint. The smartphone features a water-drop notch display and has a triple rear camera setup.

It seems that the Vivo Y32 will be just another budget offering with similar specs to the Vivo Y33s for different markets. Recently, the phone passed China’s 3C certification revealing an 18W fast charging support. It also affirms that the phone could be a budget 4G offering for the Chinese market.

As of now, there’s little information about the phone, but we expect the device to pass more certifications soon followed by a launch this year.
