The three-side bezel-less floating glass design gave it a modern, premium look, while the integrated 88W Dolby Atmos soundbar made its presence felt from the very first use. Unlike most TVs where the speakers feel like an afterthought, Vu has treated audio as a core feature here. Here’s my experience after using it for a couple of weeks.

Display and Audio

The main highlight of this TV is its QLED panel with Dolby Vision support. With a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K UHD) and 400 nits brightness, I found the colors vibrant and the contrast levels sharp. Watching nature documentaries, the greens, blues, and reds popped with a richness that felt lifelike, while dark scenes in movies revealed details that standard LED panels often miss.

I also noticed the benefit of HDR10 and HLG support, especially in OTT content. Shows on Netflix and Prime Video carried that extra punch of clarity. The AI upscaling engine did a decent job with HD content too – older YouTube videos and cable TV channels looked sharper and less pixelated.

Gamers will appreciate the MEMC (Motion Enhancement), VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) features. There’s even a Game Dashboard with a crosshair option, which adds to the immersive feel.

Dialogue in movies was crisp with no more rewinding to catch what a character said, thanks to Vu’s focus on dialogue clarity. Music, meanwhile, had a surprisingly good low-end punch. Bass-heavy tracks felt dynamic without being muddy, and I didn’t feel the need to connect an external soundbar. For late-night watching, the speech and late-night modes lowered the bass thump while keeping voices sharp.

Performance and Smart Features

Running on Google TV OS, the interface is smooth and intuitive. Right out of the box, I had access to Netflix, YouTube, and Prime Video. The 1.5GHz VuOn AI Processor with Turbo Mode, paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, ensured apps loaded quickly without noticeable lag. Switching between apps or casting from my phone was effortless.

I also tested Chromecast built-in and Apple AirPlay. Both worked seamlessly, letting me stream from Android and iOS devices without hiccups. Bluetooth 5.3 was handy too – I paired my wireless headphones for private watching and even connected my phone to use the TV as a giant speaker through Vu’s My Music mode.

The Wi-Fi remote was another pleasant surprise. With hotkeys for Netflix, YouTube, Cricket, Cinema, Picture, and Sound modes, I didn’t need to dive deep into menus. Voice search with the Google Assistant worked accurately, saving time when looking up shows or adjusting settings.

Over the course of three weeks, I used the Vu Vibe DV 65-inch TV for a mix of streaming, gaming, and casual TV. What stood out was its balance between visuals and audio – you don’t just watch content, you feel it. The integrated Atmos soundbar meant I didn’t need additional speakers, while the QLED panel ensured picture quality remained consistent across different lighting conditions.

One small limitation is the 60Hz refresh rate, which, although enhanced with MEMC, may not satisfy hardcore gamers who expect 120Hz. Still, for most casual and even moderate gaming, it held up well.

Another point worth mentioning is the 400 nits brightness. While perfectly fine for indoor use, in very bright rooms or direct sunlight, the panel didn’t get as bright as some premium OLEDs or higher-end QLEDs. But in dim to moderately lit rooms, it performed beautifully.

Design and Build

The floating glass panel design adds a touch of premium sophistication, and the build quality feels sturdy. At 16.6 kg net weight, the 65-inch model is not too heavy to wall-mount, though I opted to use the included table stand. The rear layout is simple, with all ports – including 3 HDMI (with eARC support), 2 USB, Ethernet, AV input, optical audio, and headphone jack – neatly aligned.

Vu has thoughtfully included a wall bracket kit in the box, which is a nice bonus, as many brands charge extra for this accessory.

Verdict

After spending time with the Vu Vibe DV 65-inch QLED TV, I can confidently say it’s an excellent choice for those who want a premium home-theatre experience without clutter. The standout features for me were the crisp Dolby Vision visuals, powerful integrated Dolby Atmos soundbar, and smooth Google TV interface.

It may not have the highest brightness levels or 120Hz refresh rate, but for family movie nights, binge-watching OTT shows, or even occasional gaming, it performs brilliantly. Add to that Vu’s thoughtful touches like the Wi-Fi hotkey remote, sleek design, and bundled wall mount, and you have a TV that feels well worth the investment.

The Vu Vibe DV 65-inch model (65VIBE-DV) is priced at Rs. 52,000 on Amazon India. Given the Dolby Vision QLED panel, integrated 88W Atmos soundbar, and Google TV OS, I’d say it delivers solid value compared to similarly priced rivals from Samsung or LG.
