WhatsApp, a popular messaging app owned by Meta, is rolling out a new password-less passkey feature for all Android users. This new feature will provide users with a more secure and convenient way to log in to their WhatsApp accounts, without the need for traditional passwords or two-factor SMS authentication.

Passkeys are a new type of login credential that is more secure and easier to use than traditional passwords. They are based on public key cryptography and use the user’s device’s built-in authentication mechanisms, such as fingerprints or facial recognition. This makes passkeys much more resistant to phishing attacks and other forms of password theft.

The feature is rolling out to all Android users over the next few months. To check if it’s available on your device, open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Account. If you see the option “Passkeys,” then you’re good to go.
