This isn’t the first time Apple has been rumored to have an interest in Intel’s modem business, but today’s report suggests that Apple is still in talks with the company about a potential deal.

The two companies have been in discussions since last year, but The Information warns that the talks could still fall through without a deal. The Information estimates that a deal for Intel’s German modem business could bring “hundreds” of modem engineers to Apple. Intel’s chip production facilities are headquartered in Germany after a 2011 purchase of chip maker Infineon.

The publication notes that a number of former Intel executives, who were assimilated as part of the Infineon deal, now work at Apple. While some were recruited years ago, others, like Stefan Wolff, former manager of Intel’s German modem outfit, came to Cupertino within the past few months. In February, Apple hired former Intel executive Umashankar Thyagarajan, an engineer thought to play a key role in the development of the chipmaker’s XMM 8160 5G modem.

Editor’s Pick: Xiaomi Mi Band 4 officially launched with AMOLED color Display & Cheap Price tag

The company had been planning to use Intel’s 5G chips for its 2020 iPhones, but rumors indicated Intel wasn’t able to meet design deadlines, causing the relationship between the two companies to sour. Apple is now planning to use Qualcomm’s 5G modem chips in its 2020 5G iPhones, and is also working on its own modem chip development for later devices.

In the future, Apple is aiming to reduce its dependence on suppliers like Qualcomm by creating its own modem chips, but the company still has a few years to go before the technology is ready. Apple has been telling new modem chip hires in San Diego that it doesn’t expect to release devices with its own modem chips until 2025.

Now, it seems like there has been an about-turn by the standards body. The board of members consisting a list of 1,000 parties on the company’s official website has again listed Huawei Technologies name. The same applies to the WiFi association sponsor list, where Huawei makes another appearance.

Now, keep in mind that this doesn’t necessarily mean Huawei is completely safe. This could merely be a temporary addition until the 90 day grace period is over. Optimally however, we’d love if this were a permanent decision for both associations. At least, that’s what we hope it means, since it’d be great news for the company. Much nicer than all the doom and gloom that they’ve been going through lately.

Editor’s Pick: OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition vs Huawei P30 Pro: Which One Is Better

Even if it’s not permanent, Huawei does at least have an answer to the SD card problem. The company has its Nano Memory card solution, used in the likes of the P30 Pro. It’s a proprietary format that’s not widely available or used by other brands, but it’s an option. For WiFi however, there’s not really any solution we can see for the foreseeable future.

Honestly, I’d really like it if we could get over with this entire ban shebang already. It’s made for a lot of interesting news, but losing Huawei would be a huge shame. They’ve been so innovative and fresh lately, I’d be quite disappointed if they just died. While things aren’t looking great for the company, we really hope things end up OK for them in the end.

Huawei is the one of Chinese electronic manufacturer that has been sucessfully to spread their products to global market, and now Huawei hsa already demos the 10Gbps WiFi connection in their lab.

The lab is located Huawei’s campus in Shenzhen, the new WiFi technology can transfered the data 10 times than fastest WiFi that available today. Thi snew technology is based on advanced generationthat called as 802.11ax, but this is at very beginning. And the IEEE board approved the standard effort in March after a year of groundwork.

Huawei is believes that this new technology will becoming the standard on year 2018, after agreement of global standard requirements and this technology have to support by chipset manufacturer.

The technology is uses MIMO-OFDA, that describes as a mix of two technologies. MIMO – multiple in, multiple out – uses many antennas at both the transmitting and receiving stations for spatial multiplexing. The same frequencies, by taking different spatial paths, can carry different information.

While OFDA, more properly OFDMA, orthogonal frequency division multiple access – takes existing ODFM schemes, and divides sub-carriers to different data streams.

Huawei is continues to develop, promote and invest to this advanced WiFi technology for the future.
