Oppo has just announced the ten winners of the 2022 OPPO Research Institute Innovation Accelerator, which had teams from across the globe competing against each other to take on some of society’s biggest challenges. With the winners announced, the ten teams will receive a sizeable prize fund and other resources.

As per official notes, the ten teams will be sharing a Prize Fund of 3,000,000 Yuan, which roughly translates to about 460,000 US Dollars that will be provided alongside resources from Oppo and its partners. Out of the winning proposals for tackling societal challenges, one of them includes an earphone that can easily optimize sleep quality. Furthermore, there was also a system that was designed to detect earthquakes early with rapid intensity reporting.  Another one winning entry was a smartphone specially designed to provide a greater quality of listening experience for hearing impaired.

For those unaware, the Innovation Accelerator was launched back in May 2022 and was established in accordance to the smartphone maker’s “Virtuous Innovation.” Notably, all of these proposals were judged on four major criteria, which includes of Feasibility, Innovation & Originality, Social Value, and Long term Potential. The ten winning proposals were taken from a pool of 535 entries that were submitted by technology professionals, entrepreneurs, and social science researchers based in 39 countries and regions around the world.
