<p>The company has several popular lineups and one of them is the Redmi Note series. As per the latest numbers revealed by Xiaomi, so far, the company has shipped more than 200 million units of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/redmi-note">Redmi Note</a> series smartphones globally. It has only shared an overall number and not individual figures for each generation in the lineup.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-390620 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped.jpeg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Redmi Note Series 200 Million Units Shipped Globally" width="1200" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped.jpeg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped-300x150.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped-768x384.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped-1024x512.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped-696x348.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped-1068x534.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped-840x420.jpeg 840w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>A few months ago, in November 2020, the company had announced that the Redmi Note series <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/19/redmi-note-series-global-sales-exceed-140-million-units/">managed to sell 140 million units</a>. This means that in about half a year, it has managed to sell an additional 60 million devices.</p>
<p>The company believes that the reason behind such popularity of the Redmi Note series smartphones is the brand&#8217;s strategy of offering high-end products with better technology, richer experience, and higher quality to everyone at an affordable pricing of around 1,000 yuan, which is approximately $155.</p>
<p>Xiaomi first introduced the Redmi Note series in 2014. A couple of years ago, in 2019, along with announcing the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-note-7">Redmi Note 7</a> series, it revealed that Redmi has become an independent brand. It is one of the most successful product lines of the Redmi brand.</p>
<p>This announcement from the company just days before Xiaomi is expected to launch the new Redmi Note 10 series smartphones in the Chinese market, likely on 26th May. The phone, powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/10/mediatek-announces-7nm-dimensity-700-5g-processor-for-affordable-5g-phones/">MediaTek Dimensity 700</a> SoC, is expected to be made available in China in four color options. The Pro version of the same is expected to come packed with the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/lu-weibing">Lu Weibing</a>, Partner at Xiaomi Group, President of Xiaomi China and International Department as well as General Manager of Redmi brand, is set to host a talk on 26th May regarding the global shortage of chips and shed light on how it affects the company.</p>

As <a href="https://www.idc.com/getdoc.jsp?containerId=prUS47423721">per the latest report</a> coming from IDC, the tablet market witnessed a growth of 13.6 percent in terms of sales in the year 2020.</p>
<p>In total, 164.1 million tablets were shipped, which is more than 144.5 million devices shipped a year prior to that. Unsurprisingly, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> was the market leader throughout the year in this segment.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-370211 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Tablet-Shipments-2020.png?x44794" alt="Worldwide Tablet Shipments 2020" width="924" height="370" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Tablet-Shipments-2020.png 924w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Tablet-Shipments-2020-300x120.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Tablet-Shipments-2020-768x308.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Tablet-Shipments-2020-696x279.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 924px) 100vw, 924px" /></p>
<p>The report claims that Apple managed to ship 19 million <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-ipad">iPads</a> in the four quarter of 2020 alone, showcasing its dominance in the market. In total, the Cupertino-based giant managed to ship 53.2 million units last year, covering 32.5 percent market.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a> came in at the second position with shipments of 10.1 million Galaxy Tabs in Q4 2020, which is a growth of 45 percent compared to the same period previous year. The company got a market share of 19.1 percent.</p>
<p>Despite struggling to keep its consumer electronics business afloat, Chinese giant <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> managed to be in the top 5 tablet brands for the year 2020, thanks to the company&#8217;s shipment of 16 million units in the last year, getting 9.8 percent market share.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/lenovo">Lenovo</a>, the China-based company, stood fourth with 5.6 million shipments in Q4 2020, up 2.5 million shipments in Q4 2019. In total, the company shipped 14.1 million units last year and managed to get 8.6 percent market share.</p>

The spending figure combines the spending on both the platforms, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google">Google</a> Play Store and Apple App Store.</p>
<p>Compared to the spending figures for the last year, it represents a 15 percent increase for the same time period. This hints that we could witness a new record in terms of app spendings once the report of H2 2019 also gets published.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-262626 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/h12019-app-revenue.jpg?x44794" alt="H1 2019 App Revenue" width="727" height="481" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/h12019-app-revenue.jpg 727w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/h12019-app-revenue-300x198.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/h12019-app-revenue-696x460.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/h12019-app-revenue-635x420.jpg 635w" sizes="(max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px" /></p>
<p>Further, the report reveals that the users on iOS spent almost $25.5 billion on the App Store in the first half of 2019 while the Android users spent around $14.2 billion across Google Play Store. The spending on the Google Play Store shows a growth of around 20 percent compared to the last year.</p>
<p>The gaming category applications account for the highest-earning apps, bringing in around $29.6 billion.
