Xiaomi celebrated its 5^th anniversary with a bang by announcing that the company’s smartphone sales have exceeded 100 million units. The announcement was made by the company’s CEO, Lei Jun, on the Xiaomi official Chinese blog who also said that the next five years will be very crucial to Xiaomi and that the competition in the next five years will be fierce due to the growth of local and foreign competitors as well as the entry of new players in the industry.

Xiaomi’s shipped almost 70 million units last year which means the company sold over 30 million units within the first three months of the current year to exceed its 100 million sales goal. The company has also said that their sales numbers would actually be higher if not for capacity or availability issues.

The company’s latest flagship devices, the Mi Note and Note Pro, which were announce last January are also expected to sell very well with their top-of-the-line features and specifications partnered with very competitive price tags which is Xiaomi’s signature style. The company also most recently announced two special editions of the Mi Note, the Ladies Edition and Bamboo Edition, which features a pink design and a natural bamboo rear panel, respectively.
