<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi</a> started rolling out the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/02/19/xiaomi-starts-rolling-out-hyperos-update-more-devices/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">HyperOS update to the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G</a> smartphone last month. However, the update seems to have inadvertently triggered widespread compatibility issues with essential Microsoft applications.</p>

<p>Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G users on public forums are reporting that they are experiencing frequent crashes across a range of Microsoft apps including MS Teams, Outlook, Edge, and Copilot.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-NE-5G-Featured-A-1024x683.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G HypeOS Microsoft" /></figure></div>

<h2><strong>HyperOS update on Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G is causing Microsoft app crashes</strong></h2>

<p>The issue first came to light via MIUI&#8217;s Reddit forum, where a user reported that the Microsoft apps on their phone started crashing right after they installed the HyperOS update.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-reddit wp-block-embed-reddit"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="reddit-embed-bq" style="height:316px" ><a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/miui/comments/1b9axyy/microsoft_apps_are_crashing_since_hyperos_update/">Microsoft Apps are crashing since HyperOS update</a><br> by<a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/Borsi03/">u/Borsi03</a> in<a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/miui/">miui</a></blockquote><script async src="https://embed.reddit.com/widgets.js" charset="UTF-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p>Many other users chimed in with similar complaints in the comments, suggesting that they were experiencing the same issue. The Reddit user also said that they tried to reset and re-install the MS apps, but didn&#8217;t seem to help.</p>

<p>We further looked into the issue and found reports (<a href="https://answers.microsoft.com/it-it/msoffice/forum/all/xiami-lupgrade-hyperos-outlook-teams-office-365/25538470-85ff-4f5b-b6ad-1f10b3d437b4" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">1</a>, <a href="https://answers.microsoft.com/it-it/msoffice/forum/all/non-mi-apre-outlook-su-smartphone/ac13cc05-435f-4705-ab9b-f6398339699e" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">2</a>) of the same problem on the Microsoft forum as well.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While Xiaomi is yet to acknowledge the issue, the Reddit user mentioned in the comments that removing the Intune Company Portal app seemed to temporarily fix the problem with Microsoft apps.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-reddit wp-block-embed-reddit"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="reddit-embed-bq" ><a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/miui/comments/1b9axyy/comment/ku91ww4/">Comment</a><br> by<a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/Borsi03/">u/Borsi03</a> from discussion<a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/miui/comments/1b9axyy/microsoft_apps_are_crashing_since_hyperos_update/"><no value></a><br> in<a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/miui/">miui</a></blockquote><script async src="https://embed.reddit.com/widgets.js" charset="UTF-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p>However, this workaround comes with a significant drawback. It restricts access to all work-related apps and emails, essentially isolating the work profile.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For those unaware, the Intune Company Portal is a Microsoft app often used by organizations to manage devices and enforce security policies.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For now, if you own a Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, it&#8217;s advisable to refrain from installing the HyperOS update for the time being. It&#8217;s best to wait for an official response from Xiaomi regarding this matter. We hope Xiaomi will look into the issue and release a fix as soon as possible.</p>

<p>Back in January, Xiaomi <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/01/17/xiaomi-11-lite-5g-ne-miui-14-update/">began to roll out</a> MIUI 14 update for the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G. It was initially available for the EEA variant of the smartphone. Now, a month later, the update is live for the Indian version as well.</p>

<p>The latest software update for the handset is based on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-13/">Android 13</a>. Thus, the device has received two of the three promised Android updates.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="551" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-5G-NE-1-1024x551.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE" class="wp-image-412792" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-5G-NE-1.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-5G-NE-1-300x161.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-5G-NE-1-768x413.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-5G-NE-1-696x375.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-5G-NE-1-781x420.png 781w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>According to <em><a href="https://xiaomiui.net/xiaomi-11-lite-5g-ne-miui-14-update-released-for-eea-41552/">Xiaomiui</a></em>, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-14/">MIUI 14</a> update for the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G in India arrives with build number V14.0.3.0.TKOINXM. The system update is being pushed to users via OTA.</p>

<p>Like any other software update, it is being rolled out in batches. Therefore, it is currently limited to a select few users. Anyway, all units shall get access to the update in the coming days.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-11-lite-5g-ne/">Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G</a> was released in the second half of 2021. It debuted with MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11. The phone was later updated to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-12/">Android 12</a>-based <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-13/">MIUI 13</a> in the first quarter of 2022.</p>

<p>As per <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Xiaomi/">Xiaomi</a>’s official update policy, the product will receive one more Android update (Android 14) and security updates until 2025. The next major update will likely roll out in 2024 or late 2023 at the earliest.</p>

<p>The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G’s hardware is more than enough for the next few years. It offers a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset, LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.2 storage, a 6.55-inch 10-bit FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED display, a 4,250mAh battery, 33W fast wired charging support, and more.</p>

<p>Xiaomi <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/12/11/xiaomi-miui-14-launched-all-details/">unveiled MIUI 14</a> at the Xiaomi 13 series launch event in December. The latest version of the company’s mobile software is being rolled out to eligible devices. The rollout was limited to China earlier but now the availability of the update is being extended to more markets.</p>

<p>Hence, the EEA variant of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-11-lite-5g-ne/">Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE</a> has started receiving the MIUI 14 update based on Android 13. Let’s go through the details.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-NE-5G-Featured-A-1024x683.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G Featured A" class="wp-image-414883" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-NE-5G-Featured-A-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-NE-5G-Featured-A-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-NE-5G-Featured-A-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-NE-5G-Featured-A-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-NE-5G-Featured-A-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-NE-5G-Featured-A-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Xiaomi-11-Lite-NE-5G-Featured-A-1920x1280.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>According to <a href="https://xiaomiui.net/xiaomi-11-lite-5g-ne-miui-14-update-released-for-eea-41552/"><em>Xiaomiui</em></a>, the MIUI 14 update for the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE arrives with build number <em>V14.0.4.0.TKOEUXM</em>. The update is currently only available for ‘Mi Pilot’ testers.</p>

<p>For the unaware, ‘Mi Pilot’ is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Xiaomi/">Xiaomi</a>’s global public beta program. New software builds are initially released for users enrolled in this initiative.</p>

<p>Later, the same build is rolled out as ‘Stable Beta’ for a limited number of the general public. If there are no major issues, the build is finally released for every user as ‘Stable’.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-14/">MIUI 14</a> is the second major software upgrade for the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. Similarly, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-13/">Android 13</a> is the device’s second Android update.</p>

<p>As the phone is eligible for 3 Android updates, it should receive one more next year. Also, it should get security updates until 2025.</p>

But even the slimmest and lightest phone needs protection against drops and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/Xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> seems to be well aware of that. Hence, the partnership with Kittie Yiyi to supply a limited edition case.</p>
<p>The case appears to be made up of hard transparent plastic rather than silicon and has a yellow or black lanyard string at its bottom. This string can be tied to one&#8217;s wrist for an iron grip on the phone. The case also has bumpers on its edges to protect against those deadly corner drops that almost always end up in shattered screens.</p>

<p>The<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi-11-lite-5G-ne/"> Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G NE</a> will be called Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G in the Indian market, and it will come in three variants &#8211; 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB. As per the tipster, the base model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage will cost <strong>₹21,999(~$299)</strong>.</p>
<p>However, it is unlikely that the Mi 11 Lite NE 5G launches at this price. Since the global price of EUR369(~$433) is close to ₹31,000, we can expect the NE 5G model to launch under ₹30,000 in India. But it probably won&#8217;t be as low as the figure mentioned by the tipster.</p>

<p>Additionally, the tipster reveals that the phone will launch in four colors out of which one of them will be made available later, whereas, the other three colors will be for sale immediately after the launch. Although the tipster doesn&#8217;t mention the colors, we can still speculate that the Indian region will get the same four colors as the global model i.e. a Truffle Black, Peach Pink, Bubblegum Blue, and Snowflake White. The names might differ in the region.</p>
