<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">This </span><a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi-12-ultra/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Xiaomi 12 Ultra</span></a><span data-preserver-spaces="true"> case render image features the device with a back cover and reveals the same rear camera island design spotted in recent leaks. The image also gives credence to claims of the device having a quad-camera setup as four lenses are visible along with an LED flash. </span></p>
<p>The device is revealed to have a curved display, a first in the Xiaomi 12 lineup, while the front camera punch-hole is present in the center. The presence of the punch-hole also puts to rest the rumors about the 12 Ultra having an under-display camera (at least there&#8217;ll be a punch hole variant).</p>
<p>We know there have been rumors about the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/01/05/xiaomi-12-ultra-may-never-launch-heres-why/"> Xiaomi 12 Ultra being canceled</a> in favor of the Xiaomi Mix 5 Pro, but our source didn&#8217;t have any information on this.</p>
<p>Earlier leaks have hinted that the device will feature a 6.6-inch 2K display. Additionally, the device is rumored to come with a quad-camera setup comprising a primary 50MP Samsung GN5 lens, a 48MP 2x zoom lens, a 48MP lens with 5x zooming capability, and lastly, a 48MP sensor with 10x zoom.</p>
<p>Under the hood, the 12 Ultra will come powered by the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1</a> SoC and is expected to have an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The phone may come with 120W rapid charging featured in the Xiaomi 12 Pro.</p>
<p>Although Xiaomi is yet to reveal any details regarding the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, the device is expected to debut in mid-February after the Chinese spring festival.</p>

Now, we have the answer to your questions.</span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">We have acquired exclusive images of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra&#8217;s case through our industry sources, which reveal the same design featured in </span><a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/10/xiaomi-12-series-case-leaks-reveal-peculiar-rear-camera-setups/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><span data-preserver-spaces="true">earlier leaks</span></a><span data-preserver-spaces="true">. Our sources have also revealed that this design for the upcoming device is confirmed.</span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5062.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-430631" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5062.jpg?x10805" alt="Xaomi 12 Ultra case" width="800" height="614" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5062.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5062-300x230.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5062-768x589.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5062-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5062-696x534.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5062-547x420.jpg 547w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5061.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-430632" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5061.jpg?x10805" alt="Xaomi 12 Ultra case" width="800" height="644" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5061.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5061-300x242.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5061-768x618.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5061-696x560.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_5061-522x420.jpg 522w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">So what will fill the eight cutouts of the rear camera module revealed by the case? Well, first, it appears that the phone will not feature a secondary display panel that was present in its predecessor, the Xiaomi 11 Ultra. Additionally, </span><a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/11/16/alleged-xiaomi-12-ultra-12-ultra-enhanced-chipset-and-camera-details-emerge/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><span data-preserver-spaces="true">previous leaks</span></a><span data-preserver-spaces="true"> have suggested that the phone might feature a quad-camera setup with a 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 primary sensor that will fill up the massive center cutout. The other three cameras were tipped to be a 48-megapixel camera with 2x zoom, a 48-megapixel camera with 5x zoom, and another 48-megapixel camera with 10x zoom.</span></p>
<p>While <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/11/15/xiaomi-leica-may-team-up-for-xiaomi-12-ultras-cameras/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">other leaks</a> suggest that Xiaomi 12 Ultra might feature Leictha&#8217;s technology since <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/leica/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Leica</a>&#8216;s partnership with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Huawei</a> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/15/huawei-and-leicas-partnership-will-end-with-the-p50-series/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">ended</a> earlier this year. The other four cutouts are expected to be filled by an LED flash, a noise-canceling mic, and other sensors.</p>
<p>Other than the camera module, the cases reveal that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will feature the power button and volume rocker on the right side, a USB-C, speaker grill, and mic at the bottom, along with another speaker grill at the top.</p>
<p>The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is all but confirmed to feature Qualcomm&#8217;s latest <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-1/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Snapdragon 8 Gen 1</a> Soc and may also feature a 120Hz OLED display with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a 4500mAh battery, and 120W fast charging support.</p>
<p>Apart from this, not much is known about the upcoming device, but we expect to learn more in the coming days ahead of its official launch.</p>

While alleged renders of the vanilla Xiaomi 12 model have been doing rounds for a while now, the design of its Ultra variant has remained in the dark. But that&#8217;s now changed with the release of a new unofficial render by <a href="https://twitter.com/BenGeskin/status/1469306199824912385">Ben Geskin</a>.</p>
<p>The blogger has based it on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/10/xiaomi-12-series-case-leaks-reveal-peculiar-rear-camera-setups/">protective case leaks from yesterday</a> that had revealed alleged designs of the entire Xiaomi 12 series. From that, it seems that the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro will be featuring very similar designs while the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be going for a never-before-seen look.</p>
<figure id="attachment_430371" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-430371" style="width: 696px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-430371" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/ben-geskin-xiaomi-12-ultra-render-1024x1024.jpg?x10805" alt="ben geskin xiaomi 12 ultra render" width="696" height="696" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/ben-geskin-xiaomi-12-ultra-render-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/ben-geskin-xiaomi-12-ultra-render-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/ben-geskin-xiaomi-12-ultra-render-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/ben-geskin-xiaomi-12-ultra-render-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/ben-geskin-xiaomi-12-ultra-render-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/ben-geskin-xiaomi-12-ultra-render-1068x1068.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/ben-geskin-xiaomi-12-ultra-render-420x420.jpg 420w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/ben-geskin-xiaomi-12-ultra-render.jpg 1500w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-430371" class="wp-caption-text">Credits: Ben Geskin</figcaption></figure>
<p>Nearly half of the rear of the device will be taken up the camera module alone. This, despite it seemingly ditching the secondary screen at the rear &#8211; something that was a highlight feature of the Mi 11 Ultra. The case leak had also shown a total of eight cutouts for the camera module and Ben has reflected that on his design.</p>
<p>Four of those are dedicated to the cameras on the render, making the Xiaomi 12 Ultra have a quad-camera setup. But it isn&#8217;t clear yet if the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will indeed be having four cameras or if it will stick to the more traditional tri-cam setup found on its predecessor. Three of the remaining cutouts have been allotted to random sensors while the last one is a flash.</p>
<p>The Xiaomi 12 Ultra render also divides the phone&#8217;s rear into two sections, one of which is darker than the other. If Xiaomi indeed goes for such an implementation, then it could be possible that one of the sections will perhaps have a different feel as well.</p>
<p>Apart from this, not much is known about the device. Some reports do suggest though that the phone will feature 120W fast charging and have a 120Hz OLED display. Under the hood, the phone is expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, and the pricing of the Xiaomi 12 series <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/09/xiaomi-12-price-cross-4000-yuan-rise-chip-price/">could start from 4,299 yuan</a>.</p>
