<p>Xiaomi’s latest flagship lineup brings two powerhouse devices, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-15-ultra/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi 15 Ultra</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-15-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi 15 Pro</a>. Both offer top-tier performance, premium designs, and cutting-edge camera technology, but they cater to slightly different users. The Ultra pushes boundaries with its professional-grade camera system and enhanced build, while the Pro delivers flagship specs at a more affordable price.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With key differences in battery, charging, and photography, choosing between them depends on your priorities. This comparison breaks down their strengths and weaknesses to help you decide which model best suits your needs.</p>

<h3><strong>Design and Display</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="617" height="739" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-128.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi 15 Ultra" class="wp-image-679087" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-128.png 617w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-128-250x300.png 250w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-128-351x420.png 351w" sizes="(max-width: 617px) 100vw, 617px" /><figcaption>Xiaomi 15 Ultra</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Xiaomi 15 Ultra and 15 Pro share a similar design philosophy with premium materials, but the Ultra stands out with its more rugged construction, including an aerospace-grade glass fiber option and an eco-leather finish. While both devices boast an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/03/03/honor-watch-5-ultra-launched-globally/">LTPO AMOLED</a> display with 3200 nits peak brightness, HDR support, and 120Hz refresh rates, the Ultra offers Xiaomi Shield Glass 2.0 for superior protection. The Pro, on the other hand, features <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/20/ivoomi-ipro-launched-india/">shatterproof glass</a> (2024 gen), which also provides durability. The Ultra is slightly thicker and heavier, likely due to its larger camera module and build materials.</p>

<p>Overall, the Ultra feels more luxurious and durable, making it ideal for users who want a premium, robust device. The Pro, however, is slightly slimmer and lighter, which may appeal to those preferring a more comfortable grip. Display-wise, both models are nearly identical, so there isn’t a major difference in visual quality.</p>

<h3><strong>Specifications </strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="624" height="687" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-133.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-679106" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-133.png 624w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-133-272x300.png 272w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-133-381x420.png 381w" sizes="(max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px" /><figcaption>Xiaomi 15 Pro</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Both devices are powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/03/05/snapdragon-8-elite-regains-lead-in-latest-antutu-performance-chart/">Snapdragon 8 Elite</a> chipset with the same CPU and GPU configuration, ensuring top-tier performance. The Ultra comes with UFS 4.1 storage, whereas the Pro uses UFS 4.0, which means slightly faster read/write speeds on the Ultra. However, the difference may not be very noticeable in daily use.</p>

<p>Battery capacity differs significantly, the Ultra packs a 5410 mAh (global) or 6000 mAh (China) battery, while the Pro boasts a larger 6100 mAh cell. Despite the Pro having a bigger battery, the Ultra supports 80W wireless charging compared to the Pro’s 50W, making it more convenient for fast wireless top-ups. Both support 90W wired charging, ensuring quick refills.</p>

<p>While the Pro has a larger battery, the Ultra’s superior storage speeds and wireless charging capabilities give it an edge in terms of convenience and efficiency.</p>

<h3><strong>Camera</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="647" height="714" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-130.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi 15 Ultra" class="wp-image-679089" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-130.png 647w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-130-272x300.png 272w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-130-381x420.png 381w" sizes="(max-width: 647px) 100vw, 647px" /><figcaption>Xiaomi 15 Ultra</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Ultra dominates the camera department with a quad-lens setup, featuring a massive 200 MP periscope telephoto lens with 4.3x optical zoom, a 50 MP main sensor with a 1.0-inch type sensor, a 50 MP telephoto with 3x zoom, and a 50 MP ultrawide. It also includes a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/11/honor-magic-6-pro-1-inch-sensor-3d-tof-recognition/">TOF 3D</a> sensor for depth mapping. The Pro has a triple-camera setup, with a 50 MP main sensor, a 50 MP 5x periscope telephoto lens, and a 50 MP ultrawide.</p>

<p>In terms of zoom, the Pro’s 5x periscope lens offers better long-range shots, but the Ultra’s 200 MP periscope sensor provides more detail at mid-range zoom. The Ultra’s 1.0-inch main sensor also gives superior low-light performance. Video capabilities are similar, but the Ultra benefits from advanced Leica optics and an optional filter ring holder for professional-grade shooting.</p>

<p>If camera quality is your priority, the Ultra is undoubtedly the better choice, offering more versatility and professional-grade enhancements. However, the Pro still holds its own with a solid camera system.</p>

<h3><strong>Pricing</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="643" height="687" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-134.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-679107" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-134.png 643w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-134-281x300.png 281w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-134-393x420.png 393w" sizes="(max-width: 643px) 100vw, 643px" /><figcaption>Xiaomi 15 Pro</figcaption></figure></div>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/03/03/xiaomi-15-ultra-photography-kit-precision-protection-and-performance-for-199/">Xiaomi 15 Ultra</a> starts at approximately $1099, while the 15 Pro begins at around $749. The $350 difference is justified by the Ultra’s premium materials, additional camera capabilities, and enhanced charging speeds.</p>

<p>For those who want flagship-level performance without spending extra, the 15 Pro is an excellent choice, offering top-tier specs at a competitive price. However, if you’re looking for the best Xiaomi has to offer in terms of camera and premium build, the Ultra is worth the extra cost.</p>

<p>The Xiaomi 15 series of flagship smartphones has already made its debut in China. But while an official date for the global launch is still unknown, a fresh report hints that the premium devices or the Redmi 14 5G could be unveiled in India next month.</p>

<h2>Xiaomi 15 series or Redmi 14 5G India launch imminent</h2>

<p>According to known tipster <em><a href="https://x.com/yabhishekhd/status/1883016188416159881" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Abhishek Yadav</a></em>, the Chinese tech giant is apparently planning on releasing the Xiaomi 15 series or Redmi 14 5G in the Indian market in February. For those unaware, the Xiaomi 15 series consists of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/07/xiaomi-15-full-review-yes-still-the-king-of-6-3-inch-phones-but-no-surprises/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi 15</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/16/our-xiaomi-15-pro-review-is-live/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi 15 Pro</a>. Recent rumors have also revealed that the company is working on a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/24/xiaomi-15-ultra-appears-in-real-life-image-for-the-first-time/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi 15 Ultra</a> as well as a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/27/xiaomi-15s-pros-first-key-detail-is-out-thanks-to-certification/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi 15S Pro</a> model. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Xiaomi-15-Review_1.mp4_20241107_114539.194-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-658734" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Xiaomi-15-Review_1.mp4_20241107_114539.194-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Xiaomi-15-Review_1.mp4_20241107_114539.194-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Xiaomi-15-Review_1.mp4_20241107_114539.194-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Xiaomi-15-Review_1.mp4_20241107_114539.194-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Xiaomi-15-Review_1.mp4_20241107_114539.194-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Xiaomi-15-Review_1.mp4_20241107_114539.194-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Xiaomi-15-Review_1.mp4_20241107_114539.194-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Xiaomi-15-Review_1.mp4_20241107_114539.194.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Xiaomi 15</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Notably, the company did unveil the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra variants in India but skipped the Xiaomi 14 Pro. Xiaomi released in the region back in March 2024. So the Xiaomi 15 series could be arriving in the Indian market a month earlier than its predecessor. Unlike these higher end devices, the other device that could launch in India is a budget friendly smartphone from the brand&#8217;s subsidiary Redmi.</p>

<p>The Redmi 14 5G is the other model that was talked about in Abhishek&#8217;s tweet. As the name suggests, the Redmi 14 5G is a successor of the Redmi 13 5G, which was released in mid-2024. Meaning, that even this model is arriving earlier than expected. Keep in mind that this is still just an unconfirmed report, so take this news with a pinch of salt for now and stay tuned for more.</p>

<p>Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/10/24/xiaomi-15-series-and-hyperos-2-0-based-on-android-15-finally-have-an-official-launch-date/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi 15 series in the Chinese market</a> as its latest flagship smartphones. This high end lineup is set to drop on 29th October 2024. But ahead of the announcement, it seems the devices are already quite popular with pre-bookings surpassing even its predecessor.</p>

<h2>Xiaomi 15 Series Pre-Bookings Breaks Xiaomi 14&#8217;s Record</h2>

<p>The Chinese tech giant&#8217;s upcoming smartphones will be launching in three days alongside the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/10/24/xiaomi-pad-7-band-9-pro-launch-with-xiaomi-15/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi Pad 7 series and Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro</a>. Recently, Xiaomi started taking pre-bookings for the Xiaomi 15 smartphones and these might have already outperformed last year&#8217;s Xiaomi 14 series. This news arrives from Xiaomi&#8217;s former Civi product manager, and its new Redmi Product Manager. So it appears that the newer phones are more popular.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="747" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Xiaomi-15-Pro-official-render-3-1-1024x747.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi-15-Pro-official-render-3-1" class="wp-image-656744" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Xiaomi-15-Pro-official-render-3-1-1024x747.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Xiaomi-15-Pro-official-render-3-1-300x219.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Xiaomi-15-Pro-official-render-3-1-768x560.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Xiaomi-15-Pro-official-render-3-1-696x508.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Xiaomi-15-Pro-official-render-3-1-1068x779.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Xiaomi-15-Pro-official-render-3-1-576x420.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Xiaomi-15-Pro-official-render-3-1-324x235.jpg 324w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Xiaomi-15-Pro-official-render-3-1.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Xiaomi 15 Pro</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>This means that the new flagship might already be a hit in China. To recall, the lineup consists of just the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro. Although, the top end Xiaomi 15 Ultra is rumored to launch later on. Both of these model are equipped with Qualcomm&#8217;s new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which promises significant improvements in performance over its predecessor. These new devices also run on the brand&#8217;s Android 15 OS based HyperOS 2.0 custom skin out of the box.</p>

<p>The company recently shared a teaser that revealed the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/10/25/xiaomi-15-15-pro-complete-design-key-specs-confirmed/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">design of the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro</a>. Just yesterday, other <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/10/25/xiaomi-15-15-pro-more-specs-confirmed-6100mah-battery-5x-periscope-zoom/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">key specs and features were also confirmed</a>. The Xiaomi 15 Pro will sport a 2K AMOLED display that also has a higher peak brightness than its predecessors. Under the hood, a massive 6,100mAh battery pack will power the higher end model. For optics, there is a new telephoto shooter that offers 5x optical zoom and 10x hybrid lossless zoom. So stick around for more as we will be covering the launch event next week.</p>

<p>Following the <a href="https://www.giztop.com/xiaomi-15.html">Xiaomi 15</a>, the <a href="https://www.giztop.com/xiaomi-15-pro.html">Xiaomi 15 Pro</a> has also passed the 3C certification, indicating that the devices will be introduced soon. The Xiaomi 15 series will be launched in October. This will happen right after Qualcomm unveils the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. </p>

<p>Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is Qualcomm&#8217;s flagship SoC and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi</a> will be the first to use this chip. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 15 series comes with 90W fast charging support. This is a significant drop compared to the Xiaomi 14 Pro&#8217;s 120W fast charging support. But we think that the brand can reduce charging time with some optimizations.</p>

<h2>Xiaomi 15 series, HyperOS 2, and more to come</h2>

<p>Xiaomi is working on more than one thing. These include the Xiaomi 15 series, HyperOS 2, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/09/24/xiaomi-plans-introduce-different-tri-fold-smartphone-2026/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">new tri-fold smartphones.</a> While the brand is working on so many things, it never avoids conducting quality control tests of its devices on a regular basis. Now, the Xiaomi 15 Pro has successfully passed the 3C certification and the model number is exactly the same as the previous leaked model number: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/05/14/xiaomi-15-pro-statellite-edition-imei-database/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">2410DPN6CC</a>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="947" height="292" data-id="651647" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Xiaomi-15-Pro-2410DPN6CC-3C-certification.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-651647" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Xiaomi-15-Pro-2410DPN6CC-3C-certification.jpg 947w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Xiaomi-15-Pro-2410DPN6CC-3C-certification-300x93.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Xiaomi-15-Pro-2410DPN6CC-3C-certification-768x237.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Xiaomi-15-Pro-2410DPN6CC-3C-certification-696x215.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 947px) 100vw, 947px" /></figure>
</figure>

<p>We see that the <a href="https://www.giztop.com/xiaomi-15-pro.html">Xiaomi 15 Pro</a> has 90W fast charging support like the Redmi Note 14 Pro+. The Chinese manufacturer has reduced the fast charging level for some reason in its new generation devices. The previous Xiaomi 14 Pro had 120W fast charging support. </p>

<p>Apart from these, <a href="https://www.giztop.com/xiaomi-15.html">Xiaomi 15</a> series will come with HyperOS 2.0 pre-installed. HyperOS 2.0 will be based on Android 15. Currently, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/09/24/xiaomi-hyperos-enhanced-beta-could-be-preview-hyperos-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi has released HyperOS Enhanced Beta</a>, and this version is actually a preview of HyperOS 2.0. HyperOS 2 is highly anticipated by Xiaomi users and its official launch in October is not long away.</p>
