The 55-inch model seems to be the most sought-after model as it was listed as “sold out” in a short while after the sales commenced. The other two models are still on sale.

The TV is available in three models – 43 inches, 55 inches and 65 inches. The 43-inch model is priced at CNY 1,499 ($ 210), while the 55-inch model costs CNY 2,399 ($ 337). The 65-inch model is on sale for CNY 3,399 ($ 478). These prices are no doubt quite shocking as they show the TV offer full value for your money.

The Mi TV Pro comes with a 4K LCD panel and a full-screen, near-bezel-less design. The frame and rear panel is made of optimized aluminium alloy with a 3D carbon fiber texture. All models are powered by the new Amlogic T972 chipset. The chip is jointly developed by Xiaomi TV and Amlogic and is the first to support 8K video content playback. It uses the most advanced 12nm process technology in the current TV chip, quad-core A55 processor architecture, clocked at up to 1.9GHz. Compared to the previous generation, the overall performance of the chip is increased by 63% and power consumption decreased by 55%. The TV Pro series also comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Further, the Mi TV Pro comes with a Bluetooth remote with support for voice input.

The company has now unveiled the Mi TV Pro at one of its official stores in China with the product up for pre-order. The pre-order will run from September 15 to 24 and participants will need to deposit 100 yuan. After the device goes on sale, those who pre-order will receive a complementary Xiaomi TV speaker valued at 399 yuan.

The company made a short promotional video which shows how customers reacted to the TV when they checked out.

The Mi TV Pro is expected as the first Xiaomi TV to support 8K decoding. The TV is also coming with a full-screen, near bezel-less design as can be seen from the video. Xiaomi is hosting a launch event on 24th September where the company will be launching the Mi 9 Pro 5G and Mi MIX 4 smartphones. Along with that, Xiaomi will also expected to launch its 8K Smart TV and MIUI 11.

Now, the Mi TV’s official Weibo account has shared a new teaser poster which hints that the company is all set to unveil its 8K Smart TV in the market next week. The poster has a bold font in the center that reads “8K Ready” and below that it teases “We Are Ready!”.

Currently, the highest resolution that Xiaomi Mi TVs have is 4K resolution. If a new Mi TV Pro comes with an 8K resolution, then that firmly places the premium TV on the high-end of Xiaomi’s TV lineup.

Recently, during its ‘Smarter Living 2020’ event in India, Xiaomi launched four new TV models in the Indian market, including the Mi TV 4X 65-inch. Prior to that, its sub-brand Redmi launched its first Redmi TV in China with an aggressive pricing. A couple of days ago, Xiaomi announced a 70-inch model for its Mi TV 4A series.

However, Xiaomi’s won’t be the first company to launch 8K TVs in the market. TCL has already unveiled 8K TV but the device is not going on sale anytime soon. Other brands like Samsung and LG have also launched 8K TVs.

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has already launched Honor Vision TV powered by HarmonyOS at an aggressive price point while OnePlus is also set to enter this market with its OnePlus TV on 26th September. While the OnePlus TV will first be launched in India, it’s just a matter of time it makes way to the Chinese market.
