Xiaomi is expanding its smart home range with a new air purifier. The latest home appliance is the MIJIA Smart Air Purifier 6, which is the successor to the MIJIA Air Purifier 5 from last year. Now, this model has been listed on the brand’s global website, hinting at an imminent release. We also get a look at some of its specs and features, so let’s check it out.

Xiaomi’s Latest Smart Air Purifier 6 Brings Healthier Air

The Chinese tech giant’s new MIJIA Smart Air Purifier 6 surfaced on the global website, carrying the AC-M25-SC product number. As per the listing, the product is designed to clean out the air with a five stage air purification process that removes allergens like pollen, while also removing odors and formaldehyde.

Furthermore, the filtration system uses an activated carbon filter and UV radiation, as well as various sensors that can map temperature and humidity, along with PM2.5 and PM1 sensors, and a dust sensor. The Xiaomi MIJIA Smart Air Purifier 6 measures 250 x 250 x 550 millimeters and even houses a display on the front. It is capable of a CADR of 443 m³ per hour.

As of right now, this smart air purifier is only listed on the Xiaomi global website. In other words, there is still no information regarding its pricing and regional availability. However, we can expect more information from the brand to surface soon.

Xiaomi MIJIA All-Effect Air Purifier Ultra Enhanced Edition

As per the official marketing material, the new MIJIA air purifier can remove 95 types of air pollutants to offer ’10 level composite deep purification’. It employs a special oxygen dissolution layer, a high precision PM1 filter layer, a microporous high-quality activated carbon layer, a full-width light curtain, a formaldehyde catalytic filter element, a second generation carbon array, a high energy sterilization ion field, an antibacterial, an anti-allergic filter layer, and PET washable filter layer.

All of these combined help to not only clean the air but also get rid of strong odors. So secondhand smoke, kitchen waste, and others can be filtered out. The Xiaomi MIJIA All-Effect Air Purifier Ultra Enhanced Edition has even received the Swiss SGS Deodorization certification for this as well as medical grade air purifier certification. Sterilization is done using traditional UV lamp beads and other tech to eliminate bacteria and viruses.

Being a smart air purifier, the product supports Mi Home app pairing. This brings access to various modes like allergy friendly mode, pet enhancement, dirt purification, and more. It arrives with Xiaomi Smart Connection, allowing you to connect it to multiple smart home devices. Xiaomi hosted its Smarter Living 2023 event earlier today (13th April 2023) during which it unveiled a number of new smart home products for the Indian market. Among the new announcements, the company announced two new air purifier models, so let’s have a look.

Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4

The Chinese tech giant has just announced a pair of new smart air purifiers with the first model being the Smart Air Purifier 4. This model was unveiled by the company’s CMO Anuj Sharma and it comes with a pre-filter, True HEPA Fulter, a new Activated Carbon Filter, and a Negative Air Ionizer as well. Furthermore, the Smart Air Purifier 4 also arrives with Filtration + TUV allergy care certifications & formaldehyde absorption technology as well.

The model is designed to cover up to 516 square feet area and offers an CADR (clean air delivery rate) of 400 meter cubic per hour. This is possible thanks to its 360 degree air suction technology. It can even run on a dedicated Sleep Mode that drops the noise down to just 32.1 decibels and turns off the indicator light as well. The fans are easily accessible to allow users to clean it. The new air purifier also sports an OLED display that has two buttons, a power button and a button to change modes.

Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite

The brand also launched another new air purifier, which is the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite. As the name suggests, it is a slightly smaller model that takes up less space but still manages to dish out lot of air. It has a CADR of 360 meter cubic per hour and can cover up to 463 square feet coverage. The device also houses HEPA 13 filter, Ionizer, Formaldehyde absorption, and even offers a 360 degree air suction as well.

This model also offers a 33.4 decibel low noise mode and sports an LED display. Similar to its more expensive sibling, it can basically filter out all the visible and invisible pollutants in your home’s air. This includes particles that have a size of PM 2.5, PM 10, and even gas fumes. These are also built for effectively filtering out allergens from the air. Being smart home appliances, they can also be connected with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for hands free control.

Pricing & Availability

The Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 has a price tag of 13,999 INR. Its early sale starts on 20th April 2023 and will be listed on the company’s official website, offline retail partners, and even Amazon India, with bank discounts of up to 750 INR. Meanwhile, the Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite will go on sale for 9,999 INR starting on 23rd April 2023.

Xiaomi is set to launch its latest high-end flagship air purifier, the Mijia Full-Effect Air Purifier, which promises to deliver superior air purification with cutting-edge technology. The product inherits its hard-core technology from the Mijia Air Purifier Ultra and boasts of a four-leaf clover design, which not only enhances its aesthetic appeal but also improves its functionality.

The Mijia Full-Effect Air Purifier Ultra is equipped with five sensors and an EBM DC fan that delivers a 12500L per minute air volume. It has a 7-layer purification system that includes a primary filter, durable filter, high-energy plasma field, carbon array, aldehyde filter, UV module, and self-cleaning filter. The product can purify a 90m² space in just 17 minutes and has a 99.99% virus removal rate and a 99.05% formaldehyde removal rate.

The new Mijia Full-Effect Air Purifier is expected to reduce its filter element, UV headlights, fan, and price, making it more accessible to consumers. Xiaomi has rolled out the drums to celebrate the 5 years anniversary of its popular MIJIA Air Purifier brand. The company disclosed the milestone achievement via a Weibo post which also revealed that over 10 million units of the air purifier have been sold worldwide since it was first launched.

Official information shows the MIJIA Air Purifier first hit the market on January 1, 2015, and with sales exceeding 10 million units, an average of 3.8 units were sold per minute. We can’t be so sure if that analysis is accurate. Most of the sales are likely in China where the MIJIA Air Purifier series turned out to be a very popular product. Air pollution is a major health hazard and source for concern for many in most Chinese cities. Even the cheap Airwear face mask Xiaomi launched in 2016 was a success. The air purifiers are equipped with high-precision laser particle sensors and in recent time, an OLED display which shows several parameters like the PM2.5  level, room temperature, humidity etc. The gadget can even be controlled remotely from a smartphone or smart speaker using the MIJIA app or XiaoAI.They are said to be highly efficient against aldehydes and haze.

Since the first air purifier was launched in 2015, Xiaomi has gone on to launch several improved models. Presently, the lineup includes the  MIJIA Air Purifier Pro H, MIJIA Air Purifier 3, MIJIA Air Purifier Max. There is even a MIJIA Air Purifier/Ventilator and a Car Air Purifier.

Xiaomi’s festival day promotions ended at 10:00pm yesterday and we were patiently waiting for the official data about the sales amount and units sold by the company. Now, Xiaomi reveals all the details about yesterday’s festival day sales and its pretty impressive.

In fact, this five year old Chinese company made a record yesterday. Today, the company received an official Guinness World Record certificate for the most smartphone sales in 24 hours on a single platform. Xiaomi managed to sell 2.11 million mobile phones in just 12 hours! Many companies often struggle to sell this much in an entire month, so its no surprise that these numbers created a new Guinness World record.

We have more official data from the company regarding yesterday’s sales. At the end of 12 hours of festival day sale, the company sold products worth 2.08 billion Yuan!

The distribution of sales in units were as follows:

• Xiaomi Smartphone : 2.12 million
• Xiaomi TVs : 38,600
• Xiaomi Mi Router : 79,000
• Xiaomi Power Strip : 247,000
• Xiaomi PowerBank : 403,000
• Xiaomi Piston Headphones : 336,000
• Xiaomi Mi Band : 209,000
• Xiaomi Air Purifier : 3.12 million

As you can see, these number are massive! In fact, over 1420 people were a part of this big festival day sale supporting the company! Xiaomi also reports that it shipped over 500,000 orders yesterday itself, which is once again pretty impressive.

Its really surprising to see Xiaomi managing everything so smoothly. The company had enough stock to last for the day despite these many orders and were well prepared for processing them in time.

Unfortunately, the yesterday’s festival day sale was limited to China. However, with an increasing international customer base, we hope that the company unveils such large scale discounts and offers in the foreign markets too.

Xiaomi is on a roll this year, with plenty of announcements already made in the first quarter of 2015 alone. Last year, the company had entered a brand new industry by announcing its new Air Purifier. Today, we have some new reports which claim that the company may expand into a new purifying business, this time by launching a Xiaomi Water Purifier.

Even before the release of the Xiaomi Air Purifier, the company had an account on Weibo with the name “Xiaomi Purifiers”. However, later the account disappeared. Now, a Chinese media website reports that the account may soon be enabled.

The same source also reports that the company will release the new Xiaomi Water Purifier as soon as this April for a price tag of 499 Yuan. It is also said that it will be a RO based purifier.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any other details of the device. But since Xiaomi revealed recently that it is interested in smart home products, it may have some unique features such as Wi-Fi, water quality indicator etc.

Xiaomi is yet to reveal any plans for such a product, so its best to wait for an official word from the company.
