While these speeds were insane, they were not quite ready for commercial use due to a number of safety prerequisites. However, now,<em> DigitalChatStation</em> reveals that speed as fast as 200W may soon get commercialized.</p>
<p>As per the tipster,<a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi"> Xiaomi</a> and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/oppo">OPPO</a> are experimenting with the 200W fast charging solution at the moment. These companies are expected to bring the 200W solution for commercial use, meaning that you may see your next Xiaomi or Oppo phone bundled with a 200W fast charging adapter. Or, at least will be able to buy a 200W adapter separately.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-436603 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Xiaomi-200W-2.png?x96852" alt="Xiaomi 200W" width="790" height="209" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Xiaomi-200W-2.png 790w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Xiaomi-200W-2-300x79.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Xiaomi-200W-2-768x203.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Xiaomi-200W-2-696x184.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 790px) 100vw, 790px" /></p>
<p>To recall, Xiaomi&#8217;s 200W charging speed demonstration for the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro proved that the solution could charge the phone&#8217;s entire 4,000mAh battery in under 8 minutes. It just took 3 minutes to get to 50% and 44 seconds to get to 10%.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-394356 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge.jpeg?x96852" alt="Xiaomi HyperCharge 200W Charging" width="798" height="479" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge.jpeg 798w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-300x180.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-768x461.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-696x418.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-700x420.jpeg 700w" sizes="(max-width: 798px) 100vw, 798px" /></p>
<p>As of now, we don&#8217;t have any official confirmation as to when we might see the technology for commercial use. But a past report revealed that Xiaomi may start the mass production of the 200W fast charging solution by Q2 of this year.</p>
<p>As for Oppo, the company earlier started<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/12/oppos-125w-super-fast-charger-will-reportedly-go-commercial-in-q1-next-year/"> mass producing the 125W</a> wired fast charging technology. It is testing the technology with dual-cell batteries and implementing smart charging technology with the help of battery safety detection chips. Having said that, the company may also start mass-producing the 200W solution and we might see it soon.</p>

It introduced 200W wired charging technology and 120W wireless charging technology.</p>
<p>Recently, it was reported that the Xiaomi HyperCharge technology <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/07/22/xiaomis-200w-hypercharg-rumored-mass-production-june-2022/">could go into mass production</a> by June 2022 and feature in a smartphone the same year. Now, a <a href="https://news.mydrivers.com/1/775/775712.htm">new report</a> also indicates the 200W fast charging technology to enter mass production next year.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-394356 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge.jpeg?x96852" alt="Xiaomi HyperCharge 200W Charging" width="798" height="479" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge.jpeg 798w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-300x180.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-768x461.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-696x418.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-700x420.jpeg 700w" sizes="(max-width: 798px) 100vw, 798px" /></p>
<p>What&#8217;s interesting is that the report claims that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 5 smartphone will be the first one to get support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/200w">200W fast wired charging</a> and hints that the device could get launched next year. It also adds that the phone may not have support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/120w">120W fast wireless charging</a> technology but come with 50W wireless charging.</p>
<p>The report claims that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xioami">Xiaomi</a> has two flagship lineups where the primary series focuses on offering top performance and display, along with better camera configuration. On the other hand, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi-mi-mix">Mi MIX series</a> comes with experimental technology, offering innovative solutions when it comes to display, phone material, and charging.</p>
<p>The newly launched Mi MIX 4 comes with 120W wired charging support, which was introduced along with Mi 10 Ultra smartphone last year as is still among the fastest charging solution available for a smartphone. But this year&#8217;s flagship, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-11-ultra/">Mi 11 Ultra</a> is limited to 67W fast charging. Because of this, it is being speculated that the 200W fast charging solution will be made available on the Mi MIX 5 smartphone.</p>
<p>The Xiaomi HyperCharge 200W wired charging solution can charge a 4,000mAh battery to 50 percent capacity in just three minutes. And it takes just eight minutes to gain 100 percent battery juice. On the other hand, the 120W wireless charging can charge a 4,000mAh battery to 10 percent in just 1 minute, 50 percent in 7 minutes, and 100 percent in only 15 minutes.</p>

On the other hand, the HyperCharge also produced 120W wireless charging to the Mi 11 Pro from zero to 100% in 15 minutes, a world record for wireless charging.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-HyperCharge.jpg?x96852"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-392217" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-HyperCharge.jpg?x96852" alt="Xiaomi HyperCharge" width="1494" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-HyperCharge.jpg 1494w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-300x181.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-768x463.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-1024x617.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-696x419.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-1068x643.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-697x420.jpg 697w" sizes="(max-width: 1494px) 100vw, 1494px" /></a></p>
<p>A new report monitored in China (via <a href="https://news.mydrivers.com/1/770/770677.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MyDrivers</a>) indicates that the Xiaomi HyperCharge could debut in a smartphone as early as 2022, when mass production is scheduled to commence by June 2022. The innovative technology will most likely debut with one of the flagships from one of the 2022 flagships from Xiaomi. As per the report, the HyperCharge could come with the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra.</p>
<p>After the May 2021 demonstration of the HyperCharge on a Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro smartphone, several key questions were asked about the device&#8217;s technology. It was also shown that the battery power, based on computations, would decline by 20% after 800 cycles of the HyperCharge fast charging.</p>
<p>There were also concerns about whether the HyperCharge technology could apply to other devices outside the Mi range. There is a race by both smartphone manufacturers and accessories makers for the ultimate charging device for super-fast charging and minimal decline in battery life. Current charging speeds are between 30 minutes and up to two hours. Manufacturers have continued to push the boundaries in charging speeds, and the stated world records of Xiaomi both for wired and wireless charging could be breached soon.</p>

Recently <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> unveiled the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/31/xiaomi-introduces-200w-wired-and-120w-wireless-hypercharge-solutions-fully-charges-in-8-minutes/">HyperCharge 200W</a> charging that could be deployed for the Mi 11 Pro, although close industry watchers saw the announcement as a public relations stunt. The view is that we are still a bit far away from 200W charging, despite Xiaomi’s enthusiasm. However, recent reports show that a Chinese firm focusing on charging design, NuVolta Technologies, recently launched its second-generation pump fast-charging chip, called the NU2205, which can output 100W power – an industry high.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/nuvolta.jpg?x96852"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-397901" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/nuvolta.jpg?x96852" alt="Nuvolta Technologies" width="600" height="274" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/nuvolta.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/nuvolta-300x137.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The NuVolta NU2205 supports dual-cell 4:2 pump fast-charging for segmented batteries, which Xiaomi is projecting. Therefore, it is possible to have a composite charging capacity of 200W, as reported for Xiaomi’s HyperCharge technology for the Mi 11 Pro. Apparently, Xiaomi&#8217;s HyperCharge 200W charger may have been manufactured by NuVolta considering that the startup used the picture of Xiaomi&#8217;s Mi 11/11 Pro, which seems to prove the cooperation relationship between the two sides. It is most likely that Xiaomi will be the first Chinese company to unveil the NuVolta-driven fast charging dual-cell technology. It could also be adopted by other OEMs.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/nuvolta-2.jpg?x96852"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-397902 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/nuvolta-2.jpg?x96852" alt=" Xiaomi 200W HyperCharge charging technology" width="600" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/nuvolta-2.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/nuvolta-2-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/nuvolta-2-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Xiaomi had claimed that the HyperCharge could charge a battery from 0% to 100% in about 15 minutes. That is an impressive performance, although it is believed that the numbers bandied around could be misleading. Subsequent reports showed that the actual battery capacity of the Mi 11 Pro used for the demonstration was 4,000 mAh, which is different from the expected 5,000 mAh, and 800 charging cycles were needed for 20% of the battery’s capacity to be depleted.</p>
<p>There have been other efforts even within academia for super-fast charging of devices, from using sound energy to laboratory-based efforts by some researchers in<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/06/29/researchers-develop-low-cost-fast-charging-tech/"> Cambridge University</a>.</p>

The company <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/06/11/xiaomi-200w-charging-higher-battery-life/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">answered a few questions</a> related to this technology earlier today (11th June 2021).</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-394356 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge.jpeg?x96852" alt="Xiaomi HyperCharge 200W Charging" width="798" height="479" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge.jpeg 798w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-300x180.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-768x461.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-696x418.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-700x420.jpeg 700w" sizes="(max-width: 798px) 100vw, 798px" /></p>
<p>To answer questions regarding its technology, the Chinese tech giant brought in some of its engineers. Notably, these engineers added that we might soon see a smartphone launching with no USB charging port as early as next year. In other words, some smartphone brands might launch a device that solely relies on wireless charging. An example of such a smartphone is the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/28/vivo-apex-2020-is-finally-here-features-a-unique-camera-60w-wireless-fast-charging-and-curved-display/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> Vivo Apex 2020</a>, which offered 60W wireless fast charging as its sole charging solution.</p>
<p>The engineers further added that the only reason why wired charging is still the primary method of charging a smartphone is due to wireless charging technology still not being perfected, with its infrastructure in public places also being scarce at the moment. The wired charging solution is also a lot more mature in comparison to the wireless counterpart. People have even questioned the safety of this technology, especially as charging rates have increased in recent times.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-381033 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Logo-Branding-2021.jpg?x96852" alt="Xiaomi Logo Branding 2021" width="1080" height="720" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Logo-Branding-2021.jpg 1080w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Logo-Branding-2021-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Logo-Branding-2021-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Logo-Branding-2021-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Logo-Branding-2021-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Logo-Branding-2021-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Logo-Branding-2021-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></p>
<p>But in the near future with advancement in this technology, we can expect to see devices that arrive with improved wireless charging technology. Furthermore, with the Chinese government stepping in to regulate the wireless charging technology, we can expect the third party charging accessory makers to also improve the quality of their product offerings, making it more common in the market as well.</p>

<p>Now, the company <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/556/749.htm">answered some of the questions</a> related to this new technology. The firm invited some of its users to ask questions to Xiaomi&#8217;s engineers and one of the questions raised was about the safety of smartphones.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-394356 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge.jpeg?x96852" alt="Xiaomi HyperCharge 200W Charging" width="798" height="479" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge.jpeg 798w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-300x180.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-768x461.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-696x418.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Xiaomi-HyperCharge-700x420.jpeg 700w" sizes="(max-width: 798px) 100vw, 798px" /></p>
<p>In response, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> confirmed that the technology is safe to use and also added that it has been commercialized that a long time in Research &amp; Development. The company said that there are 40 safety and protective measures included in this new charging technology.</p>
<p>When asked about the battery life of the smartphone and the impact of 200W fast charging solution, Xiaomi said that the phone&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/battery">battery life</a> remained above 80 percent after 800 charging cycles, which is much higher than the industry standard as the national requirement of energy is maintained at over 60 percent.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" title="Xiaomi&#039;s First 200W Wired &amp; 120W Wireless Fast Charging" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/obff6ZdhisU?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>At the time of unveiling the new HyperCharge Fast Charging solution, Xiaomi demonstrated that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/200w">200W wired charging</a> can charge a 4,000mAh battery to 50 percent in just three minutes and takes about eight minutes to get fully charged.</p>
<p>Similarly, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/120w">120W wireless charging</a> solution can charge a 4,000mAh battery to 10 percent in just minutes and takes seven minutes to charge it to 50 percent. It takes only 15 minutes to fully charge the battery.</p>
<p>The 120W wireless HyperCharge has arrived as a successor to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/19/xiaomi-80w-wireless-charging-announced/">Xiaomi’s 80W wireless charging</a>, which was announced back in October last year. The 80W wireless charging technology can fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in 19 minutes.</p>
<p>It remains to be seen which upcoming smartphone from Xiaomi will come packed with this new fast charging technology. If we have to speculate, then we expect the next-generation Mi series <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/flagship-smartphone">flagship smartphone</a> to feature HyperCharge technology.</p>

It currently holds the record for the fastest wireless charging technology and is one of the few manufacturers with a device that supports 120W fast wired charging. Now, it is ready to set another record tomorrow when it unveils its new HyperCharge fast charging technology.</p>
<p>The tech giant has shared a post across its social media channels that say it will set a new record with its new HyperCharge fast charging technology. We are not sure if the new technology is wired or wireless but we want to believe it is the former.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">
<p lang="en" dir="ltr">Any guesses what the new record will be? <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/InnovationForEveryone?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#InnovationForEveryone</a></p>
<p>Hint: <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/XiaomiHyperCharge?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#XiaomiHyperCharge</a> <a href="https://t.co/ewMS12mw7Y">pic.twitter.com/ewMS12mw7Y</a></p>
<p>&mdash; Xiaomi (@Xiaomi) <a href="https://twitter.com/Xiaomi/status/1398972633840971779?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 30, 2021</a></p></blockquote>
<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>Earlier this year, there were reports that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/08/xiaomi-200w-charging-phone-launch-h2/">Xiaomi has a phone with support for 200W fast charging planned for release in the second half of this year</a>. However, the source explained that the 200W is a sum of all the modes of charging the device supports i.e. wired + wireless + reverse wireless charging. The Mi 11 Ultra which is Xiaomi&#8217;s highest premium model supports 67W wired charging, 67W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging which sums up to 144W. So whatever will be announced tomorrow should see the manufacturer get closer or arrive at the 200W mark.</p>
<p>The Chinese brand already holds the record for the fastest wireless charging technology in a device with its 67W wireless charging technology present in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-11-pro/">Mi 11 Pro</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-11-ultra/">Mi 11 Ultra</a>. Last year, it <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/19/xiaomi-80w-wireless-charging-announced/">announced an 80W wireless fast charging technology</a> that is yet to be supported by any device yet though it already sells an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/30/xiaomi-unveils-an-80w-wireless-charging-stand-a-multi-device-wireless-charging-pad/">80W wireless charger</a>.</p>
