Xiaomi and iQOO were gearing up to launch their latest flagship series of smartphones in China soon. However, both brands have just announced that their respective launch events have been postponed following the death of the former leader of China.

For those unaware, Jiang Zemin was the Chinese communist leader and was the head who helped the nation acquire its position as a global superpower. The former leader has passed away at the age of 96, as per local news agency. Following this news, the Chinese tech giant announced that on Weibo (Chinese microblogging website) that it will be delaying the launch of the Xiaomi 13 series. The company further added that the upcoming smartphones will be announced soon, but have yet to official reveal a launch date.

On a similar note, iQOO has also announced the postponement of its launch event for the iQOO 11 series of flagship devices. During the iQOO conference, the brand was also set to announce the new iQOO Neo 7 SE model as well. However, it seems that the release will take place at a later. But unfortunately, the brand hasn’t announced a new launch date either for its new smartphone models. While the two brands didn’t explicitly state the reason, the passing of the former Chinese communist leader. So stick around for more, as we will be providing updates to the new release date for both the Xiaomi 13 series and the iQOO 11 lineup as well as the Neo 7 SE.

Xiaomi Facebook account has just released a new photo of larger devices covered with a red blanket, featuring a mysterious impression. We are assume that those device is the new Xiaomi Mi3 smartphone.

A new rumor said that Xiaomi Mi3 will likely cancel to using Tegra 4 processor, even the release of the Xiaomi Android phones will also be delayed to September. Apparently, talks between XiaoMi and NVIDIA have broken down because both parties could not arrive at an agreement. So it ended up that Xiaomi switch to using Qualcomm chipset.
