The phone comes with all the bells and whistles that we expect from a 2017 flagship, including the super fast Snapdragon 835 processor.</p>
<h2></h2>
<h2>Xiaomi Mi 6 Design</h2>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi 6 comes with a four curved design. The back is made out of glass and Xiaomi claims that this curved design gives the phone a natural grip in hand. The process of making the body is not an easy one, as the company adds that it takes about 12 days and 40 processes for each of the body pieces to be finished. The stainless steel frame ensures that the phone is sturdy despite the glass body. This is really important because glass phones usually don&#8217;t take falls very well. In case you are wondering, the dual cameras are not protruding and blend well with the overall design.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-hero-3.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-127444" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-hero-3.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi 6 hero 3" width="1200" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-hero-3.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-hero-3-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-hero-3-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-hero-3-1024x512.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></a></p>
<p>According to Xiaomi, the Mi 6 is all about the best visual experience. The back of the phone is curved and elegant. The front also looks good, despite the large bezels on the top and the bottom of the display. And yes, as expected, the company has decided to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack on the Mi 6. So, it&#8217;s time to say goodbye to your regular headphones and embrace the Bluetooth and USB Type-C earbuds. On the top of the phone, there&#8217;s an IR sensor while at the bottom, you&#8217;ll find a USB Type-C port and dual speakers on either side. Everything is well covered, which means the phone can take a few splashes of water. Yes, the company is not marketing it as true waterproof or IP67 certified phone (we don&#8217;t know the certification yet). So, for now, all we know is that the phone is splash resistant.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-design-elements.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-127442" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-design-elements.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi 6 design elements" width="1200" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-design-elements.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-design-elements-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-design-elements-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-design-elements-1024x512.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></a></p>
<p>And yes, the phone has an underglass fingerprint sensor that also acts as the home button.</p>
<p>There are a lot of color options for the phone and each comes with its own unique presence. First, there&#8217;s the interesting blue version, that we have already seen in the renders yesterday. What&#8217;s even more interesting is the Xiaomi Mi 6 Silver Edition that the company claims comes with a totally different feel than the Blue version. It looks like the back is made out of metal with a special ultra-reflective mirror finish. Now before you start drooling over this ultimate Mi 6 Silver edition, note that the mass production of the phone has not yet started. The company reveals that even one speck of dust during the electroplating process renders the batch useless. So, my guess is that this silver edition will be a special limited edition model, that you probably won&#8217;t be able to get your hands on.</p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-6-silver-hero-2.jpg?x44794'><img width="300" height="150" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-6-silver-hero-2-300x150.jpg?x44794" class="attachment-medium size-medium" alt="mi 6 silver hero 2" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-6-silver-hero-2-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-6-silver-hero-2-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-6-silver-hero-2-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-6-silver-hero-2.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a>

<h2></h2>
<h2>Xiaomi Mi 6 Specs</h2>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi 6 comes with a Snapdragon 835 chipset under the hood clocked at 2.45GHz with Adreno 540 GPU on board. Note that this is a 10nm chip and comes in an octa-core architecture, which means the phone will be quite efficient as well as powerful. There will be 6GB of RAM on board. The display is of 5.15-inches with 1080p resolution. It&#8217;s a Negative LCD display and comes with 600-nit max brightness and 1-nit super low ultra-dark brightness, ideal for night time reading. There&#8217;s a special eye protection optimization for the display that ensures that your eyes are not adversely affected by the screen, especially at night. The reading mode on the device reduces the harmful blue light from the screen, and at the same time, maintains the colors displayed.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-snapdragon-835.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-127451" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-snapdragon-835.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi 6 snapdragon 835" width="1200" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-snapdragon-835.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-snapdragon-835-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-snapdragon-835-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-snapdragon-835-1024x512.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></a></p>
<p>Now, you will also be interested in the AnTuTu score of the device. While we have already seen the Xiaomi Mi 6 on AnTuTu, the official score is a bit higher (not surprising) and the phone reportedly scores 184,292 on the benchmarking website. That&#8217;s one of the highest scores we have seen for an Android smartphone. But understand that real life scores are probably going to be near 170K+, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/04/10/xiaomi-mi-6-specs-confirmed-antutu-scores-170k/">similar to what we have seen in the listing before</a>. On the GFX Manhattan off-screen test for GPU, the phone scored an impressive 63fps. The Mi 6 also comes with Vulkan 3D rendering API, which will ensure realistic graphics and efficient GPU performance.</p>
<p>The phone comes with 2 x 2 Dual Wi-Fi support for better speed and larger range. Mi 6 supports 4G+ which promises 600Mbps max download and 100Mbps upload speeds. Other features of the flagship include stereo speakers and NFC with Mi Pay support (in China).</p>
<p>As for the battery, the Xiaomi Mi 6 comes with a 3350mAh battery inside. Now, this may not be large, at least according to Xiaomi&#8217;s standards, but the company made sure to add that the phone has one of the larger batteries as compared to competition with similar screen sizes. You should get about a day&#8217;s usage with this battery onboard.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-Mi-6-battery.jpeg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-127466" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-Mi-6-battery.jpeg?x44794" alt="xiaomi Mi 6 battery comparison chart" width="2048" height="1024" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-Mi-6-battery.jpeg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-Mi-6-battery-300x150.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-Mi-6-battery-768x384.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-Mi-6-battery-1024x512.jpeg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2></h2>
<h2>Xiaomi Mi 6 Camera</h2>
<p>Xiaomi has once again joined the elite club of manufacturers in 2017 to focus on dual camera setup for better flagship camera performance. The Xiaomi Mi 6 features two cameras at the back, along with a dual tone LED flash on the left. The camera setup is as follows: 12MP wide-angle lens + 12MP telephoto lens. Now, this is a bit different than traditional Android dual camera setup which utilizes one Black and White and one Color sensor. Xiaomi explains that the Mi 6&#8217;s camera uses a similar dual camera setup as the iPhone 7 Plus to produce an amazing depth of field effect.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-dual-camera-setup.jpeg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-127465" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-dual-camera-setup.jpeg?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi 6 dual camera setup" width="2048" height="1024" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-dual-camera-setup.jpeg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-dual-camera-setup-300x150.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-dual-camera-setup-768x384.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-dual-camera-setup-1024x512.jpeg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px" /></a></p>
<p>Further, the phone comes with 2x optical lossless zoom ensuring clear shots, even at a distance. You also get 10x digital zoom. The Mi 5&#8217;s 4-axis OIS will be carried forward on the Xiaomi Mi 6 as well.</p>

The Xiaomi Mi 6 flagship was earlier thought to launch today but it turned out Xiaomi fixed today to announce the launch date of the device and that date is just a couple of days away.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/mi-6-launch/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-126452" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-6-launch.png?x44794" alt="" width="538" height="448" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-6-launch.png 538w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-6-launch-300x250.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-6-launch-95x80.png 95w" sizes="(max-width: 538px) 100vw, 538px" /></a></p>
<p>The teaser poster announcing the launch had the rider; &#8220;You waited 203 days, we waited 7 years&#8221;. This is apparently referring to the Mi 5S launch which is 203 days back. Xiaomi is still basking in the euphoria of its 7years  of existence and that is also contained in the teaser.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/xiaomi-mi-6-launch-3/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-126451" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-launch-576x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="576" height="1024" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-launch-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-launch-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-launch.jpg 690w" sizes="(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" /></a></p>

<p>While we don&#8217;t have too many details about the Mi 6 design and specs, we do know that it would pack a Snapdragon 835 chipset and on the design end, we may likely get a flagship with a ceramic body. The poster contains the number 6 and the &#8220;6&#8221; looks like it has a well-polished ceramic body. The Mi 6 will also come with a dual camera setup at its rear and lots of innovative features. If you are interested in witnessing the Mi 6 launch event live at the  Beijing University of Technology Gymnasium, registration is presently ongoing at Mi.com and you can access the page <a href="http://hd.mi.com/x/04071b/index.html?from=11" target="_blank">here.</a>.</p>

A new post by Xiaomi&#8217;s official Weibo account hints at a very important info about the Mi 6 being released tomorrow. Is it the launch? You&#8217;ll have to read this to the end to find out.</p>
<p>The account has been posting images of their previous flagships in the last couple of days and today&#8217;s post was for the Xiaomi Mi 5. Since the previous posts did not include variants like the Mi 4i or Mi 4C, there is a high chance that tomorrow&#8217;s post will be for the Xiaomi Mi 6 and not for the Mi 5s or Mi 5s Plus. The countdown began on April 6 with each post mentioning the highlight of the phone.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-126279" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-5-teaser.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="720" height="478" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-5-teaser.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-5-teaser-300x199.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-126280" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-6-teaser-2-1.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="610" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-6-teaser-2-1.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-6-teaser-2-1-300x197.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-6-teaser-2-1-540x355.jpg 540w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<p>A follow up post by the account says we should expect a surprise at noon tomorrow. Some say the surprise might be the launch of the Mi 6 while others say it might be the announcement of the official launch date. Since we have heard no news of an official invite going round for a Xiaomi event, the latter seems to be the more likely thing to happen.</p>

<p>The Xiaomi Mi 6 has been delayed due to the supply issues plaguing the Snapdragon 835. There will be two variants with different screen sizes and memory configuration and the larger variant is expected to launch with dual cameras.</p>

<p>A fresh set of Xiaomi Mi 6 renders have leaked online, this in High Definition (HD) images. The new set of renders shows both the front and the rear of the expected Xiaomi flagship. They are coming not too long after the Mi 6 <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/04/06/xiaomi-sagit-k-mi-6-appears-gfxbench-shows-specs-two-variants/">appeared on GFXBench codenamed &#8220;Xiaomi Sagit&#8221;</a>.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/04/07/xiaomi-mi-6-hd-renders-leak-online/xiaomi-mi-6-hd-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-126045"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-126045" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-hd-2.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi 6" width="593" height="636" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-hd-2.jpg 593w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-hd-2-280x300.jpg 280w" sizes="(max-width: 593px) 100vw, 593px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The new renders are consistent with the previously leaked renders of the Mi 6 even though it may not be a true representation of the final design of the Mi 6. First, the renders show the Mi 6 features a curved edge design at the rear. Where things get a little bit confusing is the actual location of the LED flash at the rear. While most of the renders place it at the left side of the camera, a supposedly leaked photo of the Mi 6 shows the LED sitting at the right side of the dual cameras.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/04/07/xiaomi-mi-6-hd-renders-leak-online/xiaomi-mi-6-renders-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-126034"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-126034" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-renders-2.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi 6" width="600" height="304" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-renders-2.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-renders-2-300x152.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The front view renders also highlight some key features, like the iris scanner that is rumoured to come with the flagship. The underglass ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is another feature highlighted but this one is a going to be a bit bigger than the Mi 5S&#8217; and is said to be like the one the Huawei P10 features. The display will likely have a 2.5D curved glass above it and indeed, the Mi 6 will not have a curved screen but an entirely flat one.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/xiaomi-mi-6-hd/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-126044" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-hd.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="601" height="813" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-hd.jpg 601w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/xiaomi-mi-6-hd-222x300.jpg 222w" sizes="(max-width: 601px) 100vw, 601px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Related:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/04/05/first-xiaomi-mi-6-camera-sample-spotted/">First Xiaomi Mi 6 Camera Sample Spotted</a></strong></p>
<p>Recall that the Mi 6 is expected to come with a waterproof body with the 3.5mm audio jack removed. We can&#8217;t be so sure about all these renders. The Mi 6 may turn out looking a bit different in design but then, we&#8217;ll find out about that soon because the device will launch this month.</p>

<p>In addition, the device is shown to have support for three charging output ratings including 5V, 3A/9V, 2A/12V, 1.5A, with a minimum power rating of 15W and maximum of 18W, which is the fast charge standard. The device is suspected of being the Mi 6 because of the fast charger which it is listed to feature but that doesn&#8217;t give the speculation any certainty. It could turn out to be another device, even though we don&#8217;t know of any other smartphone Xiaomi is getting out into the market anytime soon.</p>

<p>The Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected out in the open this April and the rumored features it is expected with keep piling up, positioning the device as a true flagship. The Mi 6 is said to use the latest Snapdrag0n 835 chip and very recently it was revealed that the device may likely be without the legendary 3.5mm headphone jack and would be waterproof. Other rumoured features include an iris recognition technology, wireless charging, colourful body and fast charge support.</p>

Indeed, the Mi 6 holds lots of expectations from Xiaomi fans since it is the company&#8217;s first flagship for the year and there seem to be surprises aplenty.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/xiaomi-mi-6-features-2/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-124567" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/xiaomi-mi-6-features-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi 6" width="610" height="343" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/xiaomi-mi-6-features-2.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/xiaomi-mi-6-features-2-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>Just yesterday, we got a leaked image said to be the Mi 6&#8217;s SIM card tray which reveals a stunning detail about the Xiaomi flagship. The SIM tray showed us that the Mi 6 would likely be water resistant and in effect be without the 3.5mm audio jack. While we are yet to digest that, a new rumour has emerged on Weibo hinting at the presence of an iris recognition technology among other features on the Mi 6. To buttress this, a set of leaked photo of the Mi 6 display glass panel and tempered glass protective cover were shown, revealing openings for the iris scanner at the front.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/xiaomi-mi-6-features/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-124566" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/xiaomi-mi-6-features.png?x44794" alt="" width="593" height="200" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/xiaomi-mi-6-features.png 593w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/xiaomi-mi-6-features-300x101.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 593px) 100vw, 593px" /></a></p>
<p>Also, the Xiaomi flagship is said to use a ceramic body which is similar to what the Mi Mix and a version of the Mi 5 featured. Although Ceramic glass will give the Mi 6 a more premium, sleeker look, it is slow to produce, so fans may experience scarcity of the device. We hope it gets featured on perhaps the topmost model only while we get a metal clad variant which is likely the case since the flagship is also rumoured to come with a colourful body.</p>

<p>Since the Mi 6 would be waterproof, it means the charging port has to be taken care of, literally covered up and Xiaomi will likely do that by making the Mi 6 charge wirelessly. A wireless charging feature is another innovative feature the Mi 6 is rumoured to pack. We don&#8217;t know for sure if that means it won&#8217;t have a wired charging feature, anyway.</p>

The leakster has rumored that the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner which Xiaomi first featured on the Mi 5S would be missing on the Mi 6. Instead, Xiaomi would patronize one of the local manufacturers of fingerprint technology.  The ultrasonic technology featured on the Mi 5S was manufactured by US company Qualcomm.</p>

The latest is from popular analyst and IHS director Kevin Wang who hinted that the Mi 6 may come with ceramic body.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/19/new-xiaomi-mi-6-rumors-may-come-different-processors/xiaomi-mi-6-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-111815"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-111815" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-6-2.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi 6" width="522" height="335" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-6-2.png 522w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-6-2-300x193.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 522px) 100vw, 522px" /></a></p>
<p>The Mi 6 had earlier been tipped to launch with Qualcomm&#8217;s latest Snapdragon 835 chipset as well as pack an OLED display. A ceramic glass body is the latest high-end feature the device is being tipped to come with. Its predecessor, the Xiaomi Mi 5 had a version with ceramic body but Xiaomi did pull the plug off the production of that version last year because of its low yield and high production cost.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/mi-6-ceramic/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-116185" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-6-ceramic.jpg?x44794" alt="mi-6-ceramic" width="595" height="178" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-6-ceramic.jpg 595w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-6-ceramic-300x90.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 595px) 100vw, 595px" /></a></p>
<p>This would probably be on one version, perhaps the high-end version of the flagship in order for the device not to be flagued with issues of slow production. The Mi Mix which is the latest Xiaomi flagship with ceramic body is being bedeviled by low availability due to slow production output. Peradventure the rumored ceramic version of the Mi 6 also comes with an OLED display and the SD 835 onboard, it promises to be nothing short of a sleek beast. Do recall that there is said to be a lower version with 4GB RAM and Helio X30 chip in the works as well.</p>

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun did acknowledge, though, that the worst time has passed and the company holds high expectations for this year 2017.</p>

The VP hinted that his company will release a surprise in March this year. Though he left off short of naming the surprise product, it is likely he was talking about the Mi 6.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/19/new-xiaomi-mi-6-rumors-may-come-different-processors/xiaomi-mi-6-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-111815"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-111815" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-6-2.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi 6" width="522" height="335" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-6-2.png 522w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-6-2-300x193.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 522px) 100vw, 522px" /></a></p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to bring in some surprises in its specs lineup, according to previous rumors. The Xioami VP also seem to suggest that even the price would follow the Xiaomi tradition, which pitches it in the region of 1,999 yuan. Now, more details about the Mi 6 have been leaked online, stating among other things that the device will have a metal body, will continue the Underglass Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor featured on the Mi 5S. The source also hinted that because production of the smartphone has not been concluded, a February release is likely not feasible.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More:</span> <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2017/01/06/xiaomi-mi-6-benchmark-score-leaks-fast-furious/">Xiaomi Mi 6 Benchmark Score Leaks, So Fast &amp; Furious!</a></strong></p>
<p>In addition, the Mi 6 flagship is said to have an upgrade in its camera but the new sensor model is not yet disclosed. It is however said to be far better than the Sony IMX378 sensor. The display is also said to have two versions; one is a straight or flat screen display, while the other is a curved display. While the straight screen version will be priced around 1999 yuan, the curved screen version will fall around 2499 yuan. Another gladsome news, and it better be true, is that there will be adequate supply of the device when it launches.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/29/xiaomi-mi-6-said-look-like-sized-version-mi-note-2/mi-6-2-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-113306"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-113306" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/mi-6-2.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi 6" width="728" height="647" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/mi-6-2.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/mi-6-2-300x267.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></a></p>
<p>Furthermore, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is said to come equipped with the latest Qualcomm <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2017/01/03/qualcomm-snapdragon-835-will-provide-better-vr-experience-along-great-battery-life/">Snapdragon 835 chipset</a> which would be backed by 4GB of RAM on the straight screen version and 6GB of RAM on the curved screen verson. Both versions will cram 3,000mAh battery under the hood and would run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. There is also two storage versions of 128Gb and 256GB respectively.</p>

The likely render of the device had leaked earlier in October with a unique curved display.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/mi-6-2-2/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-113306" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/mi-6-2.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi 6" width="728" height="647" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/mi-6-2.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/mi-6-2-300x267.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></a></p>
<p>We actually didn&#8217;t see the resemblance back then, but right now a recent leak hints that the Mi 6 would adopt the same design as the Mi Note 2 bit with a scaled down size. And really on close scrutiny, the Mi 6 and Mi Note 2 actually look similar, just that the Mi 6 would be a bit smaller in size.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/mi-6-3/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-113307" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/mi-6-3.png?x44794" alt="mi-6-3" width="652" height="247" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/mi-6-3.png 652w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/mi-6-3-300x114.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 652px) 100vw, 652px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Once again, another tipster has come out to reaffirm earlier rumors that the Mi 6 would feature a Snapdragon 835 chip onboard and would be launched in February just like we have heard in the past. Another information revealed by the tipster is that the flagship would pack a 128GB and 256GB storage options and would come in black, white and blue color variants.</p>

<p>We really don&#8217;t know how all these will turn out. They may end up being untrue so for now, we won&#8217;t take them serious.</p>

However, it has been reported that production for the new chip is slow, leading a number of manufacturers to push the release dates of their devices forward. Earlier, reports saying Xiaomi had pushed the launch of the Mi 6 to April surfaced online but an analyst has disputed the statement.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-113116 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-6-launch-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi 6" width="600" height="333" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-6-launch-2.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-6-launch-2-300x167.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Posting on Weibo earlier today, Kevin Wang Diary says that even though the available supply for the Snapdragon 835 is small, it wouldn&#8217;t result in the Xiaomi Mi 6 being pushed to a date that late, as Xiaomi has started receiving its own stock of the new chip.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">After Kevin&#8217;s post on Weibo, a new report on the Xiaomi Mi 6&#8242; launch surfaced, stating that the device will be launched on the 6th of February, 2017. Which is a week earlier than the previous date of  Valentine&#8217;s. Day reported earlier.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-113115" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-6-launch.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi-mi-6-launch" width="600" height="1066" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-6-launch.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-6-launch-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-6-launch-576x1024.jpg 576w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">If the Xiaomi Mi 6 does launch on the 6th of February, chances are that it will be the first Snapdragon 835 phone, coming in ahead of Samsung who is usually one of the first to announce its flagship device but is taking its time to perfect the Galaxy S8 and prevent a Note 7 re-occurrence.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><span style="color: #ff0000">READ MORE:</span> <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/26/xiaomi-portable-mi-car-air-purifier-sales-dec-27-%c2%a5449/">Xiaomi Unveils Mi Car Air Purifier for ¥449 ($64). Sales Start on Dec 27</a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Other manufacturers like LeEco might decide to steal the show and release their own flagship ahead of Xiaomi. If you remember they beat Xiaomi to announcing the first domestic phone with a Snapdragon 821 SoC i.e. the Le Pro 3 and they might do just that again. News also has it that LG is planning to release the LG G6 earlier than expected so that it gets a head start against competitors like Samsung and HTC.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Xiaomi has not confirmed the launch date of the Xiaomi Mi 6, so you might want to take this with a pinch of salt.</p>

The Mi 6 is Xiaomi&#8217;s expected next generation flagship and it has got a huge task fitting in as a worthy replacement for the highly successful Mi 5 series smartphones which comprise the sleek Mi 5, innovative Mi 5S with its Underglass ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and the dual camera packing Mi 5S Plus.</p>

<p>Yesterday, a leaked poster had teased what is thought to be the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/25/xiaomi-mi-6-flagship-valentines-day-launch-february-14/">Mi 6 launch date</a>, pointing at a launch on Valentine&#8217;s day (February 14, 2017). Yesterday also, a tipster said to be familiar with the Taiwanese mobile phone industry had revealed that Samsung foundry is experiencing some hitch volume-producing the 10nm chip for Qualcomm&#8217;s latest Snapdragon 835 processor. The tipster also revealed that t<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/26/samsung-galaxy-s8-xiaomi-mi-6-delayed-chip-supply-shortage/">he delay would likely affect the release of the Samsung Galaxy S8</a> billed for release in February at MWC 2017.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/26/samsung-galaxy-s8-xiaomi-mi-6-delayed-chip-supply-shortage/galaxy-s8-4/" rel="attachment wp-att-112844"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-112844" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/galaxy-s8-4.png?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi 6" width="587" height="453" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/galaxy-s8-4.png 587w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/galaxy-s8-4-300x232.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 587px) 100vw, 587px" /></a>Also embedded inside the post are some leaked specs of the Xiaomi Mi 6 which includes design details like the Mi 6 having an ultra-narrow frame and four antenna. The Mi 6 is also detailed to feature dual lenses which are upgraded specs as well as Mi Charge which should be a specialized charging feature perhaps delivering fast charging. Don&#8217;t forget the Mi 6 had earlier been tipped as the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/11/25/xiaomi-mi-6-will-first-domestic-flagship-feature-snapdragon-835-says-analyst/">first domestic brand in China that would use Qualcomm&#8217;s super powerful Snapdragon 835 chip</a>. There were also earlier rumor of the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/19/new-xiaomi-mi-6-rumors-may-come-different-processors/">Mi 6 coming in more than one version with each version having a different processor.</a></p>

<p>The Mi 6 was hitherto tipped as scheduled for release in February but according to the leakster, the flagship&#8217;s launch will now be sometime in April. It remains to be seen if these details are indeed correct as there&#8217;s still no word from Xiaomi about the rumored and much acclaimed Mi 6.</p>

As we are already aware, the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/08/latest-samsung-galaxy-s8-rumor-screen-display-similar-mi-mix/">Samsung Galaxy S8 </a>would be the first smartphone to feature the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/11/17/qualcomm-snapdragon-835-soc-announced-10nm-finfet-process-quick-charge-4-0/"> Snapdragon 835 processor</a> and would likely be unveiled at MWC, 2017. Now, there are rumors also that the Xiaomi Mi 6 may be launched on Valentine&#8217;s day which is February 14.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/xiaomi-mi-6-4/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-112801" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/xiaomi-mi-6-1.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi-mi-6" width="610" height="495" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/xiaomi-mi-6-1.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/xiaomi-mi-6-1-300x243.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>A poster recently surfaced on Weibo which contained the Mi logo, a boldly written number 6, as well as the date and time of launch of the expected device. Although its not explicitly stated that it is the Xiaomi Mi 6 that would be unveiled on that day, the clues point to the Mi 6. We must point out that the poster could be a fake, as it seems to have emanated from @kjuma who is becoming notorious for fake leaks. All the same, we can&#8217;t be so sure about that.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/xioami-mi-6-2/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-112799" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/xioami-mi-6-2.png?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi 6" width="522" height="335" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/xioami-mi-6-2.png 522w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/xioami-mi-6-2-300x193.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 522px) 100vw, 522px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More:</span> <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/19/new-xiaomi-mi-6-rumors-may-come-different-processors/">New Xiaomi Mi 6 Rumors: May Come With Different Processors</a></strong></p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi 6 is touted to come as Xiaomi&#8217;s most powerful phone till date and would be fired up by a Snapdragon 835 chip as well as sport a curved display on one of its versions. Several versions are touted such as Mi 6S, Mi 6E and Mi 6P with each of them rumored to have different processors. Xiaomi is yet to officially release any statement about the Mi 6, so we&#8217;ll wait for words from China&#8217;s Apple.</p>
