Few months after its launch, some reports had revealed that the Chinese firm will be launching as an advanced version of the Mi 6 called Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus. Probably, the company decided on cancelling the device. Today, a popular tipster from China shared some live shots of the unreleased Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro smartphone. The images show that the phone would have arrived with pressure-sensitive buttons.

In the images below, the cancelled Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro can be seen sporting a quad curved screen by LG Display. The thick forehead of the device has a selfie camera and an earpiece. The large chin of the device has a fingerprint sensor integrated capacitive home button.

The back side of the Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro seems to be made out of glass. The Xiaomi Mi 6 had a horizontal dual camera setup whereas the cancelled Mi 6 Pro had an LED flash assisted vertical dual camera system. The USB-C port can be seen at the bottom of the phone. It is not clearly visible whether the phone had a 3.5mm audio jack in its bottom edge. In terms of appearance, the unreleased Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro also appears like the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 that was introduced in September.

An interesting thing about the Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro is that it does not feature any physical buttons on the right and left edges. The leakster claims that the phone had virtual pressure-sensitive buttons. The top edge of the Mi 6 Pro has a physical restart button. Also, it is a water-resistant device. Like the Xiaomi Mi 6, the Pro version was expected to arrive with Snapdragon 835 mobile platform.

Editor’s Pick: Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro to sport 108MP cameras

Xiaomi never confirmed on the existence of Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro / Plus smartphone. Hence, it is not known why the company decided to cancel it. It could be because the year 2017 marked the arrival of phones with full screen displays. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 that came in September 2017 sport a tri-bezeless display design. From 2018, the company started launching smartphones with notched screens like the Xiaomi Mi 8 series.

Xiaomi is now working on the arrival of the Xiaomi Mi 10 series. The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi Pro 5G phones will be debuting with punch-hole displays. The launch date of the Mi 10 series will be confirmed soon. Instead of an offline event, the company has reportedly planned to hold an online live conference because of Coronavirus outbreak in China.

UNBOXING

Just before we start, the phone costs about $450 but I I will leave a generous discount code in the video description down below.

DESIGN and DISPLAY

If you are familiar with Xiaomi’s phones, you will probably see that the Mi Note 3 looks almost identical to the Mi 6. In fact, it is really hard to tell the difference except for the fact that the Mi Note 3 is a bit larger and it now uses a matt metal frame instead of the glossy one found in the Mi 6.

The device just looks beautiful and the build quality is nothing short of a true flagship. However, I found the Mi Note 3 to be very slippery and I’m not going to talk about those fingerprints as they are very easy to clean, right?

The 5.5” display is now covered with the Gorilla Glass 4 for scratch resistance and I found it to be very sharp and vibrant both indoors and outdoors.

Same as the Mi 6, this phone has a dual camera setup that consists of one 12MP shooter with a wide-angle lens and another 12MP sensor with the telephoto lens that gives 2x optical zoom and the ability to take beautiful portrait photos with that bokeh effect.

On the front, there is a beefy 16MP selfie camera.

Now a few features in a nutshell: the fingerprint is super fast and accurate, there is no headset jack but you can use a supplied adapter to connect your favorite headphones and the sound quality is great. There is also stereo speakers setup that produces rich and balanced sound.

A few extra features include nicely backlit capacitive keys, a notification LED light, the IR blaster and a face recognition feature that works quite well but I always prefer using a fingerprint scanner. It’s just a faster way to unlock the phone.

HARDWARE and PERFORMANCE

When it comes to hardware, the Mi Note 3 is not the most powerful phone out there but it still has great specs.

The phone ships with the Snapdragon 660 chipset, 6GB of RAM and either 64 or 128GB of storage, which is, however, not expandable. The gaming performance is excellent. No stutter, no skipped frames on the highest graphics in the 3D games I played and the phone does not overheat.

Speaking of that software, the MIUI 8.5 is built on top of Android 7.1 and the Mi Note 3 is one of the fastest Xiaomi phones. I have a Chinese model, meaning that there are no Google Services pre-installed but it takes just a minute to do that.

The device just flies despite all the apps I installed and extra features that all Xiaomi phones have. You can customize the phone by changing themes, wallpapers, reassigning buttons or using other little tweaks and change a lot of different settings.

CAMERAS

We have a familiar Xiaomi camera app that allows you to take pictures very fast. You can also play with some basic shooting modes and settings. E.g. you can adjust some image properties using the manual mode or shoot slow-motion videos at 720p.

When it comes to the image quality using auto-mode, the Mi Note 3 can take great pictures in good lighting. There is plenty of detail, the colors look nice and noise reduction is pretty good. However, I found that the dynamic range adjustment is not always accurate. The indoor and macro shots are great too. Again, there is lots of detail and you get that nice bokeh effect thanks to the bright lens.

The low-light camera performance is decent but I would still love to see more detail and less noise as I’m always picky when it comes to camera performance.

The 4k video quality is great. The footage is detailed and the continuous auto-focus feature works well. The colors look nice too but they seem to be slightly oversaturated. Also, there are some video artifacts going but in general, the video looks great.

The 1080p video looks good too. Obviously, there is less detail but the OIS seems to do a better job than in 4k video mode.

The selfies look great as there is a lot of detail and the colors are accurate. However, the quality decreases quite dramatically in lower-lit situations.

The 1080p selfie video looks quite good and the sound recording quality is decent yet not the best I’ve heard.

CONNECTIVITY

When it comes to connectivity, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is flawless. The call quality and signal reception have been excellent, the Wifi range and speed are good, the Bluetooth works fine and finally, the GPS is very accurate, thanks to a reliable Snapdragon processor.

The phone has NFC and a lot of sensors including a gyroscope, so you are all set in this department.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 ships with a 3500 mAh battery that performs great. I used my phone very intensively for taking a lot of pictures and shooting 4k videos, running benchmarks, installing a lot of apps and so on and I still managed to get over 8 hours of screen-on time.

If you use the device just for the basic stuff, you should be able to get 9 or even 10 hours of SOT. Keep in mind, that SOT is always very subjective.

Finally, the Mi Note 3 ships with the fast charger. It takes about 1:30 h to fully charge the phone, thanks to the Quick Charge 3.0.

Conclusions

The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is a solid phone overall. Yes, it does not ship with the most powerful chip out there but I found it to be very fast and powerful enough to even handle 3D games. Also, the phone simply looks beautiful, the display is sharp, the cameras are pretty good and the battery life is great.

Even though there is plenty of storage space, some users will be disappointed by the lack of the microSD card slot. Also, there is no headset jack and the phone is very slippery, so you may want to keep it in the case.

If you can live with these shortcomings, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is a solid phone that offers a lot of flagship qualities for a lower price.

The third product announced at the event was none other than the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 (after Mi Notebook Pro and Mi Mix 2). The company seems to have a taken a different strategy for the Mi Note series this year as it ditches the dual curved display design and markets the phone as a larger version of the Xiaomi Mi 6. So, instead of the Mi 6 Plus, you get the Mi Note 3.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 comes with 7 series aluminum frame with matte texture and four glass body with curved edges. The phone is nearly identical to the Mi 6 in terms of its basic design, including the rear camera placement. Plus, you get the phone in a beautiful blue color as well.

Coming to the specs, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 comes with the upper mid-range Snapdragon 660 chipset with 6GB + 64GB /128GB memory options. There’s a 5.5-inch 1080p display on board. The 12MP camera module is the same as the Mi 6, but the algorithms have been improved to provide better bokeh tracking. Mi 6’s portrait focus wasn’t very accurate, so it would be interesting to see how the new algorithms improve the tracking. On the front, the phone features a large 16 million 2μm sensor for noise free selfies. You can check out a few bokeh samples down below. There’s a large 3500mAh battery as well.

The Redmi series includes midrange smartphones. Fresh information coming from a Chinese leakster suggests that Xiaomi may introduce a new series of phones called Xiaomi X and the Xiaomi X1 will be its very first device.

The leakster has revealed two variants of the Xiaomi X1 which includes a full-screen design version and a regular screen edition. The text on the following image states it is a TPU case for Xiaomi X1.

The first variant has a 5.5-inch Pegasus display with full-screen design. It will deliver a screen resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. It will be driven by Snapdragon 660 chipset. It will include a IMX362 or IMX386 dual camera system, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm audio jack. The tipster has provided two sets of standard and high of Xiaomi X1 along with their pricing. The first set include:

Standard model
4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage for 1,999 Yuan (~$294) or 2,299 Yuan (~$339)
High model
6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage for 2,499 Yuan (~$368) or 2,799 Yuan (~$412)

The second set of standard and high models include:

Standard model
6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage for 2,299 Yuan (~$339)
High model
6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage for 2,799 Yuan (~$412)

The second Xiaomi X1 variant is expected to come with a regular screen. Its screen resolution is unavailable, but it is likely to support full HD resolution. It will be also fueled by Snapdragon 660 chipset. It may feature a front-facing fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. For this variant also, the leakster has provided the same set of pricing for two types of standard and high models.

Hence, it is likely that the regular screen totting Xiaomi X1 may come with 4 GB/64 GB standard and 4 GB/128 GB high models and the X1 featuring full-screen display may arrive with 6 GB/64 GB standard and 6 GB/128 high models. The Xiaomi X1 could be the Xiaomi Jason phone that has been spotted on GFXBench.

Read More: Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 Specs Sheet Reveal Sony IMX362 In A Dual Cam Setup

Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 Cancelled?

The tipster further claims that the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 may have been canceled by the company probably because the original model may not have sold well. Hence, there is no information on its existence. During the Surge S1 conference presentation event held earlier this year, the company only spoke nothing about Redmi Pro series, but gave information on Redmi and Redmi Pro series. Hence, there is a possibility that the Redmi Pro 2 will not release and even Redmi Pro series has been cut off.

A report from the previous month speculated that the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 would be coming with a full-screen display. However, it now seems that the rumored phone could be the Xiaomi X1. The leakster claims that the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus, Xiaomi X1 and MIUI 9 ROM would be releasing in this month.

Despite the fact that Xiaomi‘s latest flagship – Mi 6 is still not readily available, talks of the Mi 6 Plus launching later this year is gathering momentum. Not too long ago, we were treated to a purported real live image of the Mi 6 Plus standing beside the Mi 6. Later on, a protective glass cover said to be for the Mi 6 Plus also appeared online showing its massive size.

Now, popular industry analyst Pan Jiutang seems to have hinted that Xiaomi will indeed launch the Mi 6 Plus this year. The analyst was responding to a question as to whether the mi 6 Plus will be launched this July. He didn’t respond directly in an affirmative manner but actually listed models which won’t be dropping this year, like the elusive OPPO Find 9, Vivo XPlay 7, Smartisan T3, Xiaomi Mi Note 3 and Honor Magic 2. The omission of the Mi 6Plus on the list could be an indication that the model will be launched this year.

Curiously, it was Pan Jiutang that also informed us of the postponement of the Mi 6 Plus due to the demand for Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 835 chip by Samsung for use on the Galaxy S8. The analyst didn’t say if the Mi 6 Plus will be launched in July as asked but he at least gave us some ray of hope that the device is still in the works.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus is expected to feature the same design as the Mi 6, packing a dual camera setup, glass body, with the 3.5mm audio jack also missing. The model is also expected to use Qualcomm’s latest SD 835 and would feature a 5.7-inch display as well as a 4,050mAh battery. The Mi 6 Plus is rumored to cost around 2,999 Yuan.

However, the Chinese manufacturer only debuted the Mi 6 flagship in April. After the release of Mi 6, rumors claimed that Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus has been cancelled and the next flagship from the company would be the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 that will launch in September. Now, a leaked image showing the rear panel of the Mi 6 Plus phone has surfaced which has reignited the rumors that the larger Mi 6 would be arriving in the near future.

Industry analyst Pan Jiutang had speculated that the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus would be launching around two months after the release of Mi 6. Jiutang had even blamed the Galaxy S8 for the postponing of the launch of Mi 6 Plus. It seems that the analyst’s prediction may come true since a leaked image of Mi 6’s rear panel has surfaced which shows a similar design that is available on Xiaomi Mi 6.

Read More: Xiaomi Introduces its Well-Experienced Senior Managers to its Fans

In the above image, the rear panel of Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus can be seen placed on the left side of the back panel of Xiaomi Mi 6. Both of them sport the same design and the only difference is that the Mi 6 Plus’s rear shell is bigger.

The bottom side of Mi 6 Plus’s rear shell has the Mi logo and there is no fingerprint reader available on it which indicates that it will be placed at the front. Interestingly, a leaked image of the protective case of the Xiaomi MI 6 Plus that appeared in the previous week also suggest that the device actually exists and may launch in the near future.

Previous rumors have suggested that the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus would be coming with a 5.7-inch screen that will carry support for full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. It is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 835. It is expected to come with identical specs that are available on the smaller Mi 6. Hence, it is expected to come with 6 GB RAM, 64 GB / 128 GB storage, MIUI 8 flavored Android 7.1.1 Nougat and 12-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual rear cameras. It is rumored to come with a bigger battery of 4,500mAh capacity.

If the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus really exist, more leaks are expected to surface in the near future.

There were also rumors that the Mi 6 Plus has been cancelled but looks like that may not be the case. Once again, a protective case for the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus soon after all as a protective case has leaked showing us the likely design of the Mi 6 sibling. The Mi 6 Plus is expected to have a larger size than the Mi 6 which features a 5.15-inch display. The Mi 6 Plus is said to have the same display size as the Mi 5S Plus which comes with 5.7-inch display. From the leaked protective casing, it could be seen that the device would pack a dual camera setup just like the Mi 6 but there seems to be a change in the position of the LED flash. This time around, the LED flash is located in located on the right side of the dual cameras.

The leaked protective case also reveals the Mi 6 Plus will join the Mi 6 in not having a 3.5mm audio jack. Since the Mi 6 Plus comes with a large display size, the battery will likely be a larger 4,500mAh battery. Earlier rumours had tipped the Mi 6 Plus to come with 6GB of RAM, 64GB / 128GB storage versions, Sony IMX362 12MP main camera while there will be an 8MP front camera (Ultrapixel). The device may likely use the same 18W fast charger which was certified by China’s 3C. However, we still don’t know when Xiaomi will officially unveil this model since the Mi Max 2 with an almost similar size just went official.

There have been conflicting reports explaining why Xiaomi didn’t release the Mi 6 Plus. Analyst, Pan Jiutang in a new post via Weibo says Samsung’s Galaxy S8 is responsible for the Mi 6 Plus getting postponed. He said the response to Samsung’s new flagship is better than expected, hence the need for more supply of the Snapdragon 835 chip. Since there are not enough chips to go round, Xiaomi has to reschedule the release of the Mi 6 Plus.

Mr. Jiutang’s take on the matter is quite different from what circulated on the micro-blogging platform a few days ago. The news peddled around was that Xiaomi had cancelled the Mi 6 Plus and will instead release the Mi Note 3 in Q3 2017.

READ MORE: Xiaomi headphones Relaxed Version Review – Amazing Value, Again!

Some folks agree with Xiaomi’s move to cancel it citing clashing sales as their defense. Their explanation is that if Xiaomi goes on to release the Mi 6 Plus, it will affect the sales of the Mi Note 2 and Mi MIX which already satisfy the market for those who want a phone with a big display. If they do not want any of the two devices, then they can wait for the Mi Note 3 when it launches in H2 2017.

But a new rumour has appeared in the Chinese social media that alleges that the Mi 6 Plus has been scrapped entirely by Xiaomi.

The implication of this latest rumour is that this year’s Mi 6-series would only be made up of one model. Well, maybe Xiaomi will continue with the line next year. The post which appeared in a group discussion also reveals that the Mi Note 3 would instead be released in the third quarter of this year. This is actually an affirmation of the earlier rumour of a Q3 launch for the Mi 6 Plus shared on Weibo and which we reported but this latest rumour pegged the launch precisely in September.

Before the Mi 6 was launched, the Mi 6 Plus was rumoured to come with a full display screen similar to the Mi Mix but surprisingly Xiaomi never mentioned anything about a Mi 6 Plus. Fans who were holding on to Pan Jiutang’s prediction that the Mi 6 Plus may find this disappointing. But then, it’s still a rumour as Xiaomi is yet to confirm or deny anything concerning the Mi 6 Plus.

We really can’t say why Xiaomi didn’t announce the Plus-size version with this one but according to a Weibo post by the well-known industry analyst, Pan Jiutang, the Mi 6 Plus is real. The trusted analyst, while responding to a Weibo post by Xiaomi phone official account, the analyst among other things hinted that the Mi 6 Plus may likely be released in two months time.

The Mi 6 Plus is expected to come with a bigger 5.7-inch display and the analyst also affirmed that. Earlier rumours had tipped the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus to come with 6GB of RAM, 64GB / 128GB storage versions, Sony IMX362 12MP main camera, and an 8MP front camera (Ultrapixel) as well as a large 4,500mAh battery. The device may likely use the same 18W fast charger which was certified by China’s 3C. The Mi 6 Plus may also come with a different design from the Mi 6, especially the display. The Mi 6 Plus had earlier been rumoured to have a display similar to the Mi Mix, with narrower bezels. We’ll have to wait to see how this pans out.

This time around, an image said to be the live front view of the bigger Mi 6 Plus has appeared on China’s Weibo.

The latest rumour about the Mi 6 Plus is that the design might be different from that of the Mi 6, with its design tilting towards that of the Mi Mix that is, a full-screen display. The front home button may also not be an ultrasonic technology. The latest leaked image seems to lend some authenticity to the rumour, except that we are not even sure that this is actually the Mi 6 Plus.

The clues we would have looked out for to tell whether this is even a Xiaomi device or not were stylishly masked. In reality, the leaked image is very much different from the earlier images we had seen of the Mi 6 or even the Mi 6 Plus. The display is a full-screen display with a small part reserved for the home button at the extreme edge just like on the Mi MIX. The design of the home button is obviously different from that of the Mi 5S with its ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The body seems to be manufactured using ceramic glass and it is relatively thick. In addition, the device uses the USB Type-C interface.

Read Also: Real Image of Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus Surfaces Online, Shows Dual Cameras

We are not sure about this leaked image and the new details it brings to the table but there is a precedent. The Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus did not exactly look alike. The Mi5S ultrasonic fingerprint sensor was missing on te 5S Plus while the Mi 5S Plus features a dual camera setup as opposed to the single sensor on the Mi 5S. It is not certain the same scenario will play out on the Mi 6 and Mi 6Plus but we’ll keep our fingers crossed and watch out for further details.

The Mi 6 is listed to start at 2,199 Yuan ($314) which is a little higher than the 1,999 Yuan price tag we expect on the Xiaomi flagship. The Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus starts way higher at 2,699 Yuan ($390).

The leaked price sheet indicates that the Mi 6 will come in two memory variants, both packing 4GB of RAM. The storages are 64GB and 128GB respectively. While the 2199 Yuan is the price of the 4GB + 64GB model, the higher 4GB + 128GB model is expected to be priced at 2599 Yuan ($376). Both prices are still less than the almost impossible 3,599 Yuan price the device was earlier leaked to carry.

On the other hand, the Mi 6 Plus comes with three versions and all three have 6GB RAM onboard. But the difference lies in the storages. The 6GB + 64GB version of the Mi 6 Plus is listed with a 2,699 Yuan ($390) price tag. The next model features a 6GB + 128GB combo and is priced at 3,099 Yuan ($448). Finally, a third version of the Mi 6 is listed with 6GB RAM + 256GB storage and carries a 3,699 Yuan ($535) price tag.

Read Also: Xiaomi Reveals Top 10 Smart Products In China!

As we already know, the Mi 6 and 6 Plus will come with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 flagship chip and would run Android 7.1.1 with the MIUI 8 overlay. While the Mi 6 is expected to sport a 5.1-inch display, the Mi 6 Plus is expected with a larger 5.7-inch display. There will also be a dual camera set up on both models. Despite these high-end features and specs, we still don’t expect the Mi 6 to start higher than 1,999 Yuan. So, we’ll take this latest leak, coming from a source without much credibility, with a pinch of salt.

It was meant to be a test done by UCBrowser and the information revealed is not accurate.

Apparently, the Xiaomi Mi 6 launch is seven days away from today. That is if a leaked specs sheet of the Mi 6 which is said to have emanated from a search of the keyword “Xiaomi Mi 6” on UC browser in China is to be believed. The specs sheet shows that a seven days countdown towards the launch of the device has begun. To this end, we’ll be looking at a launch around April 11 if the countdown is correct.

The countdown page also contains a run down of the specifications the Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to come with and among them is a 5.7-inch 2K display which should be for the Mi 6 Plus. The device is also listed to feature the Snapdragon 835 chip clocked at 2.45GHz, as well as the Adreno 540 GPU. Other listed specs include 4GB of RAM, 32GB storage and a SONY IMX400 camera sensor.

While the specs align with those that have leaked earlier on, we are not so sure about the images that were displayed along with the listing. Those are concept render of the Mi 6 that had leaked earlier so we don’t think they are real. In addition, we expect the Mi 6 to come with an IP68 dust and waterproof rating and as a result, the 3.5mm audio jack may be off.A recent rumour all hinted at the likelihood of a surprise 3499 Yuan ($522) price tag which negates the 1999 Yuan ($290) we are expecting the device to start at.

This time around a render of the likely Plus-sized version of the Mi 6 captured from the front and rear has leaked online. As would be expected, the render gifts us a look at the device from the front and rear end.

This new render comes in a coral blue colour but the images are similar to those which had leaked earlier on but obviously, this one doesn’t look real. Up front, we could see the home button looks similar to the Mi 5S’ underglass ultrasonic fingerprint sensor while there is no opening for the iris recognition technology which the Mi 6 is rumoured to feature. The Mi 6 Plus is said to come with a 5.7-inch HD display and the render shows a thin bezel at the two sides of the display but the screen to body ratio isn’t spectacular.

The rear view shows the dual-lens camera setup that the Mi 6 is almost certain to come with. The cameras are arranged in a horizontal plane while the LED flash sits to the right of the cameras. The capacitive buttons on the right side protrude abnormally that they seal this images as likely not being real live renders. Perhaps it is a fan generated work which isn’t a bad depiction anyway, even though it doesn’t look too captivating as we would have expected the Mi 6 Plus to be.

On the other hand, the Mi 6 is expected with a smaller 5.15-inch display and two versions with 4GB and 6GB of RAM as well as three storage versions of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. The Mi 6 will likely also pack a lesser 3,2oomAh battery. Both smartphones will likely be unveiled this April so brace up for more leaks and rumours.

In recent weeks, a number of manufacturers have released new color variants for some of their phones. We have also seen newly launched phones sport unique color options. An example is the Huawei P10 which comes in green and blue. Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and S8+ which will launch tomorrow will also be available in blue, pink, and purple. A new leak suggests that Xiaomi will be joining this colorful bandwagon with a pink Mi 6.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 is rumored to launch in April and pictures we have seen so far have shown the phone in black. It is therefore good to know that alongside the usual black (and white) color variants, Xiaomi might be adding a pink variant too.

I’m using the word “might” because these images bring up a lot of questions. First the build and design are different from previous leaks. Instead of a glass back, this “pink Mi 6” sports a metal back just like the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus.

The design is also different. It lacks the curves present on the Mi 5 series and doesn’t even appear to be brushed metal like the Mi 5S Plus. Another confusing part is that it sports the same dual camera design we have seen on recent leaks. And those antenna lines…..Aarrgggh! I thought we left that in 2016.

READ MORE: Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Makes First Debut Outside China, Taiwan Gets The Honor

This device may actually be a Redmi phone, probably the Redmi Pro 2. But even at that, Xiaomi has changed the design of the Redmi series. I seriously hope this is not the Xiaomi Mi 6 or 6 Plus. I’ll assume it is the upcoming Redmi Pro 2.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 is one of such flagship which would lock horns with the Samsung Galaxy S8 as the first two Snapdragon 835-powered smartphones. The Mi 6 is rumoured to launch next month, after the Galaxy S8 must have been unveiled on March 29.

Ahead of that launch, the Xiaomi Mi 6 pricing details have leaked online revealing the likely prices the various versions of the flagship device will sell for. The price list contains not just the Mi 6, but also the Mi 6 Plus which is probably the bigger 5.7-inch variant. Accordingly, the list reveals three memory versions for the Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus. The Mi 6 comes in 4GB + 32GB which is listed to start at 1999 Yuan ($290). There is also a 4GB + 64GB version listed with a 2,299 Yuan ($333) price tag and finally, a 6GB + 128GB version priced at 2,699 Yuan ($391).

Finally, the Mi 6 Plus is listed with a top-end version with a fiery 8GB RAM and 256GB storage priced at 3499 Yuan ($507).

We can’t verify these price listing but if true, then the Mi 6 would be the cheapest flagship around considering that it packs a Snapdragon 835 chip, dual cameras and several other top-end features. We don’t know if the base versions will pack Snapdragon 835 chip or a lesser Snapdragon 821. Also, there are rumours of the Xiaomi flagship equally coming with several colour variants including the unconventional colours like red. We have a feeling the long wait for the Galaxy S8 and Mi 6 would be worth the while.

We have seen a number of leaks about the specs of the upcoming device already but more details keep coming in.

The new info reveals that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will come equipped with the latest Sony IMX400 sensor. Previous reports had said that the rear camera will be an IMX386 but that seems to have changed. If the Mi 6 does come with the IMX400, it will be quite surprising since Sony usually reserves it’s best sensor for itself.

We have also learnt that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will come in two screen variants. There will be a 5.15-inch model and a 5.7-inch model. Apart from the difference in size, they will also feature slightly different designs. The larger variant is even said to come with dual cameras on the rear in a design similar to that of the iPhone 7 Plus.

Other details mentioned says the Xiaomi Mi 6 will have a thickness of 8mm, a 3200mAh battery and will have its memory configuration starting at 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM. The larger variant which is currently called the Mi 6 Plus will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Both variants will come with the Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at the highest frequency. For pricing, the Mi 6 will start at ¥1999 (~$289) while the Mi 6 Plus will begin at ¥2499 (~$360).
