However, Twitter user <a href="https://twitter.com/FunkyHuawei" target="_blank" rel="noopener">@FunkyHuawei</a> had revealed vital information of the smartphone well ahead of its launch through its leaked firmware files to XDA Developers. Today, the same source has found key information on a mysterious upcoming Xiaomi flagship phone through its firmware files. According to the publication, the leaked firmware files may belong to the Xiaomi Mi 7 Plus.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/21/xiaomi-mi-7-arrive-oled-screen-always-display-function/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">firmware files of the Xiaomi Mi</a> 7 that had surfaced in the recent past had revealed that it would be arriving with a notched display like the iPhone X. It is rumored to be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/03/12/xiaomi-mi-7-codenamed-as-dipper-appears-with-snapdragon-845-6-gb-ram-on-geekbench/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">codenamed as Dipper</a>. The publication claims that @FunkyHuawei has come across two firmware files that respectively belong to devices that are labelled as dipper and dipperold.</p>
<p>After scouring through firmware files of the two phones, it was revealed that only the dipperold features an in-screen fingerprint scanner from suppliers Synaptics and Goodix. The presence of “old” in dipperold label suggests that it could be the scrapped Mi 7 prototype. An XDA member has shared the following mock-up image of the mysterious Xiaomi phone that features a notch and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-181806" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Xiaomi-Mi-7-In-Display-Fingerprint-Sensor-Mockup.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi-Mi-7-In-Display-Fingerprint-Sensor-Mockup" width="600" height="1200" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Xiaomi-Mi-7-In-Display-Fingerprint-Sensor-Mockup.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Xiaomi-Mi-7-In-Display-Fingerprint-Sensor-Mockup-150x300.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Xiaomi-Mi-7-In-Display-Fingerprint-Sensor-Mockup-512x1024.jpg 512w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>The publication claims that there is another smartphone that is codenamed as ursa that is packed with similar <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/03/12/xiaomi-mi-7-may-arrive-with-display-notch-3d-facial-recognition/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">features like the dipper phone</a>. It’s a flagship phone that features notch enabled OLED display, Snapdragon 845 chipset, optical zoom and 4,000mAh battery. The ursa phone also features Synaptics and Goodix in-screen fingerprint scanner.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Read More: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/03/27/xiaomi-mi-mix-2s-vs-mi-mix-2-we-go-hands-on-with-the-two-phones-side-by-side/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S vs Mi Mix 2: We Go Hands On With The Two Phones Side By Side</a></strong></p>
<p>Xiaomi is known for using constellation names as codenames for its Mi series phones. Like dipper, ursa too is a constellation name. Hence, there is a possibility that the Xiaomi ursa with in-screen fingerprint scanner could be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/12/11/xiaomi-mi-7-mi-7-plus-may-launch-simultaneously/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mi 7 Plus that is speculated to debut alongside Mi 7</a>. However, there is no direct evidence to prove that ursa will launch as Mi 7 Plus.</p>
<p>The publication claims that apart from dipper and ursa, there are some other Xiaomi phones that have come across through firmware file leaks. However, information on these upcoming phones will be revealed by XDA later on.</p>

The company has now confirmed through its official WeChat channel that the Mi 7 will be equipped with wireless charging technology.</p>
<p>The Chinese firm has confirmed that the US-based Integrated Device Technology will be providing it with the wireless charging module for its upcoming flagship phone. The exact pricing for each module is not known, but a common configuration is available for buying with a pricing of around $5. IDT has various wireless charging modules that ranges from 3-watt single direction to 15-watt dual-direction, but there is no confirmation on the specific model that will be available with the Xiaomi Mi 7.</p>
<p>Xiaomi Mi 7 will carry support for Qi wireless charging standard. Around three months ago, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/09/22/xiaomi-mi-7-may-support-qi-wireless-charging/">Xiaomi had joined Wireless Power Consortium</a> that hinted that the next flagship phone from the company would carry support for Qi standard wireless charging. A report from the previous month states that Xiaomi Mi 7 with wireless charging will <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/12/01/xiaomi-mi-7-wireless-charging-enter-production-february-2018/">enter production</a> from February this year.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-164666 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Xiaomi_Mi7_IDT_Wireless_1-400x427.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi_Mi7_IDT_Wireless_1-400x427" width="558" height="596" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Xiaomi_Mi7_IDT_Wireless_1-400x427.jpg 400w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Xiaomi_Mi7_IDT_Wireless_1-400x427-281x300.jpg 281w" sizes="(max-width: 558px) 100vw, 558px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-164667 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Xiaomi_Mi7_IDT_Wireless_2.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi_Mi7_IDT_Wireless_2" width="558" height="506" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Xiaomi_Mi7_IDT_Wireless_2.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Xiaomi_Mi7_IDT_Wireless_2-300x272.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 558px) 100vw, 558px" /></p>
<p>Apart from wireless charging module from IDT, Xiaomi will be also using its RF products. This indicates that the wireless antennae of the alleged Mi 7 would be completely compatible with wireless bands of the U.S. This suggests that the Xiaomi Mi 7 could be the company’s first flagship phone to be available through carriers in the U.S.</p>
<p>The official website of Xiaomi is listed with various accessories from the company, but none of the Xiaomi phones are present on it. Its unlocked phones are available to the consumers in the U.S. through other channels like Amazon, Newegg and GearBest. Just as Huawei is planning to expand its reach in the U.S. territories by launching the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/12/28/huawei-mate-10-reportedly-arriving-att-february-2018/">Mate 10 flagship phone through carriers in the U.S.</a>, Xiaomi too could be planning to make its phones available through U.S.-based mobile operators starting with the Mi 7.</p>

<p>Recent rumors have suggested that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/12/11/xiaomi-mi-7-mi-7-plus-may-launch-simultaneously/">Xiaomi may launch Mi 7 and Mi 7 Plus simultaneously</a>. The Mi 7 is rumored to house a 5.65-inch 18:9 display whereas the Mi 7 Plus is speculated to be fitted with a 6.01-inch 18:9 screen. These phones are speculated to be respectively packed with 3,200mAh and 3,500mAh batteries.</p>
<p>The Snapdragon 845 and 6 GB of RAM are expected to power the Mi 7 and Mi 7 Plus. The Mi 7 duo are also rumored to deliver stellar <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/12/05/xiaomi-mi-7-may-arrive-ai-powered-dual-rear-camera/">AI driven photography experience</a> through its dual rear cameras. The Mi 7 may carry a pricing of 2,699 Yuan (~$415) whereas the larger model may be priced at 2,999 Yuan (~$460). The Xiaomi Mi 7 duo may get unveil in March this year.</p>

Rumors are rife that the Mi 7 will be sporting a full screen design like the Mi MIX 2 phone, but there are no leaked images of the smartphone yet. We have come across some interesting concept renders of the Xiaomi Mi 7 that showoff its amazing full screen design.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-162254 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Xiaomi-Mi-7-Concept-Model-4.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi 7 Concept Render" width="500" height="281" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Xiaomi-Mi-7-Concept-Model-4.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Xiaomi-Mi-7-Concept-Model-4-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" />  <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-162256 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Xiaomi-Mi-7-Concept-Model-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi 7 Concept Render" width="500" height="281" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Xiaomi-Mi-7-Concept-Model-2.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Xiaomi-Mi-7-Concept-Model-2-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" />+</p>
<p>These renders show that the side bezels of the Xiaomi Mi 7 are almost non-existent. The lower bezel is also very slim while the upper bezel is slightly thick as it houses a hidden earpiece and selfie camera.</p>
<p>It features an elongated display that offers an aspect ratio of 18:9. It seems to offer a very high screen-to-body ratio. The rear design of the phone is similar to the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-6/">Xiaomi Mi 6</a> as it features a curved glass panel.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-162255 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Xiaomi-Mi-7-Concept-Model-3.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi 7 Concept Render" width="500" height="281" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Xiaomi-Mi-7-Concept-Model-3.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Xiaomi-Mi-7-Concept-Model-3-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></p>

It goes without saying that the forthcoming flagship phones releasing in 2018 will be fueled by Snapdragon 845. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/12/06/xiaomis-upcoming-flagship-powered-snapdragon-845/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Xiaomi Mi 7 is expected to be the first Snapdragon 845 phone</a> by a Chinese firm. Fresh information claims that <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Xiaomi</a> will be launching the Mi 7 in large and small sizes and both of them would be hitting the market simultaneously.</p>
<p>This year Xiaomi had launched 5.15-inch <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-6/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Xiaomi Mi 6</a> flagship. Soon after the launch of Mi 6, the rumor mill was speculating that the Chinese firm would be releasing <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/06/26/xiaomi-mi-6-plus-probably-coming-june-hints-analyst/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mi 6 Plus</a> too at some point this year. It is speculated that the company could not launch it because of the lack of Snapdragon 835 chipset. However, the Chinese company is pegged to unveil Mi 7 as well as Mi 7 Plus next year.</p>
<p>The Mi 7 is expected to arrive with a 5.65-inch display whereas the Mi 7 Plus may house a large 6.01-inch screen. Both the phones are rumored to support 18:9 aspect ratio. The Mi 7 may include a battery of 3,200mAh capacity whereas the larger Mi 7 Plus may feature a 3,500mAh battery. Both the phones are likely to arrive with metal and glass combination design. These smartphones are also rumored to support <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/12/01/xiaomi-mi-7-wireless-charging-enter-production-february-2018/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wireless charging</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-142932 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Xiaomi-Mi-6-21.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi 6 Silver" width="1024" height="683" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Xiaomi-Mi-6-21.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Xiaomi-Mi-6-21-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Xiaomi-Mi-6-21-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More: </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/12/08/xiaomi-redmi-5-redmi-5-plus-available-oppomart-start-139/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus are available on Oppomart, start at $139</a></strong></p>
<p>The Snapdragon 845 chipset and 6 GB of RAM are likely to be driving force for both phones. These smartphones are expected to house dual rear cameras featuring Sony IMX380 and IMX350 sensors. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/12/05/xiaomi-mi-7-may-arrive-ai-powered-dual-rear-camera/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">photography experience on the Mi 7 duo will be enriched through AI</a>.</p>
<p>Since Xiaomi is expected to receive adequate stock of Snapdragon 845 for Mi 7 and Mi 7 Plus, it may not have any problem in making both phones available for purchase at the same time. Hence, the Mi 7 and Mi 7 Plus may debut together with 2,699 Yuan (~$408) and 2,999 Yuan (~$453) pricing in March next year.</p>
