Today, the company has announced that the Mi 8 Pro will get the Mi Turbo mode.

The Mi Turbo is an underlying system optimization technology developed by Xiaomi. The company says that the feature effectively reduces the generation of system debris after long-term use of the device. With Mi Turo mode enabled, the smartphone runs smoothly even after 18 months of continuous usage.

However, the company has not provided more details related to this new Mi Turbo function that was introduced with the Mi 9 smartphone. From the teaser shared by the company, it’s known that the function related to anti-system aging for MIUI.

It is different from the Game Turbo mode that dynamically adjusts the CPU frequency according to the game rendering load. In Game Turbo function, with intelligent scheduling of CPU frequency, the CPU is operated at a lower frequency in a less loaded scenario which reduces system power consumption.

Coming to the Mi 8 Pro’s specifications, the phone features a 6.21-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with screen resolution of 2248 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor clocked at 2.8GHz, along with Adreno 630 GPU.

It packs 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage but there’s no microSD card slot for expanding storage. The phone comes with a pressure-sensitive in-display fingerprint sensor for added security. It comes with 6GB or 8GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage.

In the camera department, the device features a dual camera setup on the back, consisting of two 12-megapixel sensors with Optical Image Stabilizer and optical zoom. On the front side, the device comes equipped with a 20-megapixel f/2.0 camera sensor housed inside the display notch.

It runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s MIUI 10 interface.

As part of its year-end ‘Smartphone Sale’ promo, the Chinese online store is doling out up to a noteworthy 60 % off on a wide selection of well-received smartphones. The recently kicked-off promo has been split into Bestselling, APP Exclusive, Clearance and Top Brands categories.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro (8GB RAM+128GB ROM)

Xiaomi made the long-awaited Mi 8 Pro smartphone available to the public this year in September. It is an irresistible smartphone that sports an eye-catching 6.21 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 2248 pixels resolution for immersive user experience.

This feature-laden smartphone from the Chinese electronics giant usually sells for $827.99 but much to the delight of smartphone lovers, it is now up for grabs for just $569.99 on GeekBuying. This 31 percent discount can be expanded with the help of coupon code GIZ_NYJEQOLW.
The aforesaid coupon helps you get an extra $125 off by reducing the phone’s already lowered the retail price further down to just $539.99 at the time of checking out. Regrettably, the promo was on the verge of wrapping up at the time of writing. You can visit this link to grab the discount before the promo ends.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 (6GB RAM+128GB ROM)

Equipped with a Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 845, Octa core, 2.8GHz processor, the Mi Mix 3 is a feature-rich smartphone that Xiaomi launched earlier this year. The phone packs a competent Adreno 630 with a hearty 128GB of onboard storage with an unmatched screen-to-body ratio of 93.4 percent.

While the Mi Mix 3 smartphone’s exceptional features justify the steep $826.99 price tag it normally carries, the phone has now gone up for sale bearing a lowered price sticker of $594.99 on GeekBuying. But there’s more for you to cheer about.
In addition to taking advantage of this 28 percent discount, you can use coupon code GIZ_NKXDKCSP and save $126 more while checking out. After applying the coupon the Mi Mix 3 smartphone’s original asking price reduces to only $529.99.

If the Mi Mix 3 has stirred your interest, you can follow this link to buy the coveted smartphone for an unbeatable price on GeekBuying. It is imperative for you to bear in mind that the promotion sale is slated to end today.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 (6GB RAM+256GB ROM)

Even over a year after hitting the store shelves, the Mi Mix 2 smartphone continues to garner popularity among Xiaomi fans. Its skyrocketing demand can be attributed to the fact that it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 process, an Adreno 540 GPU, MIUI 8-based Android 7.1 Nougat OS and other top-end specifications that we normally associated with a steeply priced smartphone.

Taking the Mi Mix 2’s popularity into consideration, Xiaomi is now offering the phone for a significantly lowered price of $539.99 on GeekBuying. It is worth noting that this is a noteworthy 26 percent drop in the device’s original selling price of $729.99.
On top of that, you can use coupon code GIZ_KOAYDIKP and get an extra $219 off before placing your order. The coupon helps you bring the phone’s retail price down to only $499.99 without breaking a sweat. On the downside, the promo will only be valid for just five days.

Thanks to this solution, Samsung managed to realize a full borderless design without a notch. The company decided to include an in-display hole in an upper midrange phone, a perfect competitor of devices such as Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro and Oppo R17 Pro (or RX17 Pro for the European market). Given that these wonderful handsets share a similar price tag, here is a comparison between them.

Design

Given its cutout in the display, Samsung Galaxy A8s has the most futuristic design as it does not need a notch in order to achieve one of the highest screen-to-body ratios (almost 85 percent). But note that it does not integrate an in-display fingerprint reader and it is rear-mounted, so the rear side of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro looks cleaner and more beautiful, also thanks to its gradient colors. But it has a too big notch (unlike Oppo R17 Pro) because it integrates a 3D facial recognition system based on an infrared sensor. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy A8s is the thinnest and most lightweight device.

Display

Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro has the most awesome display because it boasts a better color reproduction. Not only it comes with the Super AMOLED technology, but also with DCI-P3 coverage, and it is HDR10 compliant. At the second place, there is Oppo R17 Pro with its AMOLED screen that is also protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6. Samsung Galaxy A8s is the only phone from the Galaxy A-series to feature an IPS display manufactured by BOE instead of a Samsung’s AMOLED panel, and it is a classic midrange display which offers nothing impressive.

Specs & Software

Talking about hardware and performance, there is no challenge, Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro is the winner. It boasts the most impressive hardware side thanks to the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 which is paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The rest of the trio is powered by the Snapdragon 710, a very nice chipset, the best Qualcomm’s SoC if we exclude the whole 800 series. But it remains a midrange-class SoC. Between Samsung Galaxy A8s and Oppo R17 Pro, when it comes to hardware and software, I would pick Samsung Galaxy A8s because it comes with Android 9 Pie out of the box.

Camera

Even though they are not among the most expensive phones, all of these devices feature impressive cameras. Oppo R17 Pro is even very innovative because it has a triple camera with a variable aperture in order to adapt better to every light condition. In order to establish which is the best camera phone, we have to test Galaxy A8s personally but this is still not possible because it has just been announced. On the paper, Oppo R17 Pro seems the most satisfying one.

Battery

Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro has a much smaller and just sufficient battery with its 3000 mAh capacity, so it is excluded from this comparison. Oppo R17 Pro has the biggest one and, even if we still did not test Samsung Galaxy A8s, we believe this may be the most satisfying devices when it comes to battery, not only for the time it lasts (a working day even with intensive uses), but also because it is the world’s fastest charging last-gen smartphone.

Price

We still do not know the listing price of Samsung Galaxy A8s, but we will know it soon because it will be launched soon (more info at the link below). Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro and Oppo R17 Pro are available with starting price tags of about €500 and €600. Oppo R17 Pro looks the most convincing device and I would personally pick it because of its good display, big and fast-charging battery, and its excellent cameras. I would not choose Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro because of its smaller battery.

Design

If you are looking for the most impressive design, you should grab either a unit of the Huawei Nova 3 or Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro. Indeed, the former carries the highest screen-to-body ratio thanks to its very narrow chin, and it comes with a stunning glass back available in gradient color variants. The latter has an in-display fingerprint reader, so it sports a totally clean back, except for the vertical dual camera setup on the top left corner.

Display

Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro has the most stunning display because it is able to provide a better color accuracy. Indeed, it has DCI-P3 coverage and it is HDR10-compliant, and it also has a Super AMOLED panel. Huawei Nova 3 has the most disappointing display, a classic IPS with an average quality, while Meizu 16 sits in the middle.

Specs & Software

If you want the fastest and smoothest device, we recommend you the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro for both its hardware components and its huge software optimization. It is equipped with the octa-core Snapdragon 845 chipset by Qualcomm, up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. I also like the software of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro more because it is customized by MIUI. Meizu 16 is almost at the same level and it features exactly the same hardware side, but its custom UI is Flyme OS. Huawei Nova 3 is a step back with a less powerful Kirin 970.

Camera

Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro has the best hardware performance as well as the best camera department, with two 12 MP rear cameras, 2x optical zoom, and OIS. It captures a stunning detail even in low-light conditions and it can even record 4K videos at 60 fps. The second place goes to Huawei Nova 3 with an above average rear camera and a dual front camera.

Battery

Meizu 16 and Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro did not satisfy us so much when it came to battery life. They have below-average batteries compared with today’s standards. But Huawei Nova 3 is convincing thanks to its bigger 3750 mAh battery which can last for one day even with a pretty intensive use.

Price

These devices’ prices range from about €400 to about €500. Meizu 16 and Huawei Nova 3 are currently available on the €400/$453 price range and Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro costs about €500/$567 but you can also find it at €450/$510 thanks to online street prices. The device I like more is definitely the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro, but not for its battery life. If you want a long lasting phone, then choose Huawei Nova 3.

We’ll shed light on some of the items that you can buy at unbeatable prices. On top of that, we’ll even show how you can save a considerable amount of extra money during the checkout process.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite (6GB RAM+128GB ROM)

Xiaomi unveiled the Mi 8 Lite this year in September and the phone became an instant hit among those who fancy watching their favorite videos on a big-screen mobile device. Equipped with a mammoth 6.26-inch IPS LCD display, the Mi 8 Lite would normally set you back a pretty penny but you can now buy for only $279.99 on GeekBuying.
This is a 31% reduction in the phone’s original selling price of $405.99. Aside from receiving this discount, you can use coupon code SFGDGMIJ to get an extra $75 off. In other words, you can use the aforesaid coupon to reduce your grand total to only $264.99.

You can follow this link to grab the discount and check the full specification. Note that the promo is slated to end in 4 days.

Xiaomi Mi 8 (6GB RAM+256GB ROM)

Deemed as one of Xiaomi’s most well-received smartphones, the Mi 8 was announced in May this year. The phone comes loaded with impressive features and sports a big 6.21-inch FHD+ screen with 2248×1080 pixels resolution.

While you’d normally associate a steep price tag with a feature-laden smartphone from a top brand like Xiaomi, the Mi 8 can now be yours for a considerably lowered price of only $449.99. If this 36% reduction in the phone’s steep retail price of $700.99 doesn’t impress you much, you can apply coupon code LPCJNYWZ to save $145 more.
As a result, your already lowered grand total comes down to only $434.99 before you proceed to checkout. If you’re interested in taking advantage of this discount, all you need to do is to follow this link before the promo ends in 4 days.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro (8GB RAM+128GB ROM)

If you’ve restlessly been waiting to get your hands on the Mi 8 Pro without spending a lot of money, it might interest you to know that the coveted smartphone from Xiaomi has gone up for sale carrying a heavily discounted price tag of $579.99 on GeekBuying. Both the phones are aimed at a younger generation crowd and comes with new color options to set it apart from the competition. The gradient version of the two new devices are a bit different than the ones that you have seen from companies like Huawei. Our quick Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro hands on reveals the twilight gold gradient color in detail. Make sure to check out the photos down below.

At the time of launch, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro was announced in three color variants: Twilight Gold, Black, and one special variant, a transparent version similar to the Mi 8 EE edition. In many ways, the new model is a good replacement for the Explorer Edition, featuring a cheaper price without its 3D face unlock feature on board.

The screen fingerprint sensor found on the EE edition makes it way to this cheaper model, however, there are a few differences. According to the company, the Mi 8 Pro’s screen fingerprint is 29% faster than the EE edition. Further, the success rate increases by a solid 8.8%. Overall, when it comes to fingerprint, the Mi 8 Pro should offer a superior experience than the EE edition.

The mirror like finish is obtained by a vacuum nanometer splash plating technology. The end result is a highly reflective back surface with hues changing from the top to the bottom.

Design

For Xiaomi, Meizu and OnePlus, these flagships are a big step forward in terms of aesthetics. Indeed, Meizu 16 Plus and OnePlus 6 are the first flagships from the companies to sport an elegant glass back and, as you know, glass backs are the most common choice for premium designs. But the winner is Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro with the most impressive design: it is the only last-gen smartphone to come with a transparent back thanks to which you can see internal components from the outside. And if you do not like it, there is also a stunning gradient hue.

Display

All of these handsets pack wonderful AMOLED displays and a Full HD+ resolution. So you will get a stunning viewing quality in each case. Judging from the specs on the paper, Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro may offer a slightly better viewing quality thanks to the HDR10 technology making colors richer. But the one I would pick is the Meizu 16 Plus due to its huge 6.5-inch display without notch. A so big display is hard to find on a so powerful flagship and this is enough to award Meizu 16 Plus. But obviously, if you do not like big phablets, go for the Mi 8 Pro.

Specs & Software

These devices are three smartphones with the most powerful hardware department launched in 2018. They all have the octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC which is the best Qualcomm’s chipset, and it is paired with up to 8 GB of RAM. So all of them deliver blazing speeds and a limitless multi-tasking experience. It is a draw under this point of view, but note that Meizu 16 Plus and Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro come with 128 GB of internal storage in its base variant, while OP6 starts from 64 GB.

Camera

We did not try to click a photo with the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro, but given that it has the same camera department as the original Mi 8, it will provide the same photo and video quality. A quality which makes us put this phone in the first place of this trio, as this device can shoot detailed photos with rich colors in every light condition and the stabilization works greatly. But Meizu 16 Plus and OnePlus 6 are still stunning camera phones, so even if you choose them you do not make a bad choice.

Battery

Given that it has a bigger size, Meizu 16 Plus also has the biggest battery. And it surely lasts more than both Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro and OnePlus 6. It can also charged very quickly thanks to the proprietary mCharge 4.0 technology.

Price

All of these handsets are very affordable flagships if we compare it with the concurrency. Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro starts from just $470/€400 (6/128 GB configuration), Meizu 16 Plus starts from exactly the same price in the same base configuration, while OnePlus 6 starts from $519/€519 in the 6/64 GB variant. With the actual prices, in my opinion, Meizu 16 Plus is the king for productivity and advanced users, but if you prefer the design and cameras you should go for the Mi 8 Pro.

Instead, the device kept on with the popular rear-mounted fingerprint sensor which seems to be fading away gradually from latest flagship models. Xiaomi took care of that with the recent launch of the Mi 8 Pro. Xiaomi isn’t letting the frenzy generated by the launch die down as the Chinese company has officially announced a big news. Donovan Sung, Xiaomi’s Global spokesperson disclosed via a tweet that the Mi 8 Pro will be launching globally soon across the markets Xiaomi is present. Mr Sung also shared some unboxing photos of the device.

The photos include a variant with a translucent glass back similar to the Mi 8 Explorer edition. The device is also available in Ochre Black and Twilight Gold. The device sports a 6.26-inch AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. The device also packs an infra-red face unlock technology like the Mi 8. The use of infra-red ensures the phone can be unlocked in the dark using Face ID. As stated, the fingerprint security on the device includes an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Mi 8 Pro is billed to go on sale in China on September 21. The global rollout may likely start in October and Europe is likely going to be the preferred debut destination for the company. We can’t say how soon Xiaomi will unveil the Mi 8 Pro in India but that may also happen in coming months.
