Xiaomi finally ended all speculations and rumours surrounding the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite with the launch of the duo in an event held in Spain. The popularity of the Mi A2 is traceable to the successful run of the Mi A1 which came out as Xiaomi’s first and only phone running stock Android. Xiaomi Mi A2 has now joined that train and along with it comes a new Mi A2 Lite.

When the dust generated by the launch finally settles, the next question would be the availability of both models. The Chinese company did not leave us in doubt as to the global availability of the models. According to details released by the firm, the Mi A2 will be available in 39 different countries cutting across six different regions of the world while the Mi A2 Lite will only be available in 36 different countries. The three countries where the Mi A2 Lite won’t be available are in the Asia Pacific and they include India, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

In the Asia Pacific, the Mi A2 will b available in Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Pakistan, Indonesia and a couple of other countries. The model will also be available in the following countries in Europe; Spain, France, Italy, Poland Bulgaria, Belarus, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Turkey among others. Both models will also be available in The Middle East and Africa in Egypt, Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE. While in the Americas, only Colombia and Mexico will get the models. The Xiaomi Mi A2 is making lots of waves and causing uproars days before its launch. Recall that a detailed hands-on video of the device which was later taken down was released a month before Xiaomi even scheduled the launch event. Days ago, the smartphone has been seen in different online stores all over the world. The device was first seen in an online store in Poland, then it was later caught in Romania and just of recent, it has been listed by a Chinese and UK online stores for pre-order with awesome price tags.

When Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 last year, the company never expected the level of interest the device would elicit. But it turned fans loved the idea of having a Mi phone running stock Android. The Mi A1 was Xiaomi’s first Android One phone. The company is expected to launch the Mi A2 any moment from now. The device is expected to have the same design and specification as the Mi A2 except that it would run Android Oreo.

A recently leaked “About phone” page coupled with its NCC listing had shown the Mi A2 is already around the corner. The “about phone” page confirms that the device will run on Android 8.1 which should be under the Android One program. A sample photo shot by the device has now been spotted online. The picture was shared by a user on the MIUI community in Spain and from the photograph’s EXIF data, it could be seen that the nice photo was indeed shot by the Xiaomi Mi A2.

Since the device has the same configuration with the Mi 6X, it is no surprise that camera sample is of awesome quality. The device packs a 20MP + 12MP rear camera with AI capabilities while at the front is a 20MP selfie shooter. This aspect might see some changes considering the Redmi Note 5 camera configuration is different from that of India’s Redmi Note 5 Pro. However, the Mi A2 will have a 5.99-inch display, 3101mAh battery and should be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. Since this is the same SoC on the Mi A1, we might see something else onboard, perhaps the Snapdragon 710 chipset.
