<p>The Mi A3 came bundled with Android 9.0 Pie and has progressed to Android 11 during its times. It had enjoyed regular software updates during the three years of its existence. Xiaomi had promised three years of security patches and updates for the device. It is now on the cusp of achieving that promise three years down the line. The 8MB download will update the Mi A3 to the July 2022 security patch. The finer details of the update can be gotten from the Android Security Bulletin.</p>
<p>Eligible Mi A3 smartphones will get the July 2022 security patch via an over-the-air (OTA) update. The phone’s settings will provide the necessary information on the current patch available. Alternatively, users can download the update using Xiaomi Firmware Updater. The Mi A3 models in Europe last received an update back in June 2022.</p>

Moreso, it was launched under Google’s Android One programme which meant Android updates would be prompt and regular. However, that hasn’t really been the case. <p>The update was also reportedly delayed by the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/coronavirus">Coronavirus</a> outbreak. However, when it started rolling out, the ROM was full of bugs and even got some models bricked. Xiaomi had to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/02/xiaomi-pulls-the-android-10-update-from-the-mi-a3-after-several-bug-complaints/">roll back the OTA update</a>. The company has now started pushing the Android 10 update to the Mi A3.</p>

<p>The update comes with the version number V11.0.11.0 QFQMIXM and is expected to hit Mi A3 units Over-The-Air. Of course, the rollout should be pushed in batches so as to ensure there is no issue. The company is reportedly planning to introduce the model for the Asian market starting with Malaysia on July 31. Already, invites have been sent out to the media ahead of the launch event billed to hold in the country&#8217;s capital, Kuala Lumpur.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-asia-1.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-265021" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-asia-1.jpg?x10805" alt="XIaomi Mi A3" width="727" height="463" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-asia-1.jpg 727w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-asia-1-300x191.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-asia-1-696x443.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-asia-1-659x420.jpg 659w" sizes="(max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px" /></a></p>
<p>The Mi A3 has been confirmed to be a rebadged Mi CC9e which was earlier launched in China. As usual, the phone won&#8217;t be launched in China just like its predecessors but other Asian markets including India will likely get the Mi A3 soon. The major highlight on the A3 is no doubt the stock Android OS it runs which some find appealing than the MIUI  overlay. But then, Xaomi disappoints by including an HD+ resolution screen on the device.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-colors-3.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-265024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-colors-3.jpg?x10805" alt="XIaomi Mi A3" width="1100" height="653" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-colors-3.jpg 1100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-colors-3-300x178.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-colors-3-768x456.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-colors-3-1024x608.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-colors-3-696x413.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-colors-3-1068x634.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/xiaomi-mi-a3-colors-3-708x420.jpg 708w" sizes="(max-width: 1100px) 100vw, 1100px" /></a></p>
<p>As a reminder, the device features 6.088-inch <strong>HD+</strong> display with an in-display fingerprint sensor, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon">Snapdragon</a> 665 processor, and a large 4030mAh battery. The triple cameras remain the same as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-cc9e/">Mi CC9e</a> which includes a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. At the front, there is a 32MP selfie sensor.  The phone comes in two memory versions &#8211; 4GB+64GB priced at €249 ($280) and 4GB+128GB priced at €279 ($315). It&#8217;s currently available for pre-orders in Spain and would go on sale on July 24.</p>
