Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s will be officially launched on March 27 and ahead of the launch, we have had a couple of teasers from the tech giant centred on the features the device will pack. The latest teaser from Xiaomi seems to be the presence of wireless charging technology on the flagship device.

This isn’t the first time we are getting the rumour that the Mi Mix 2s will support wireless charging technology but this seems to officially confirm the presence of wireless charging. Although it isn’t explicitly stated that the device will come with wireless charging, the presence of what looks like a charging pad and the battery charging sign diagrams on the poster. The poster also contains the text “Not just” with a sign that resembles Qualcomm’s quick charge and we believe this implies that the device will not only have fast charging support but will also support wireless charging. We won’t be needing any text to decipher this one. It is, no doubt, wireless charging technology. The question which would then arise is if the company will launch the smartphone bundled with the charging pad. That is the likely scenario and so we may not just see the Mi Mix 2s on March 27 but also a new wireless charging pad, Xiaomi’s first.

It should be noted that to the best of our knowledge, Xiaomi is yet to release a smartphone with wireless charging support. So, the Mix 2s is likely going to be the first. The flagship Mix series phone will also score another first on the processor aspect. It will be Xiaomi’s first model to utilize Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 chipset. Other features of the Mi Mix 2s include a premium full-screen, bezel-less display design with 18:9 aspect ratio, up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage as well as under-display fingerprint technology. Further, the Mi Mix 2s is expected to feature a dual camera setup which is another first for the Mix series model and will be supporting Google ARCore AR software solution at launch. A recent teaser suggests the dual camera sensors may have the ability to function independently. That is in addition to the AI camera feature also teased to be onboard the flagship device.

Xiaomi is expected to go official with the much-anticipated Mi Mix 2s, its first flagship for the year on March 27. Ahead of that date, the tech giant in its usual fashion has been sending out a couple of teasers centered on the features of the smartphone. Just a couple of hours ago the tech giant teased the presence of an AI camera. The latest teaser is that of a dual camera setup but this isn’t just any dual camera. The teaser suggests the two camera sensors can function independently.

The Mi Mix 2s is expected to pack a Sony IMX 363 sensor at the main camera and some of the features of the camera had earlier leaked via the Mix 2S firmware files. The camera is said to come with the capability to identify various kinds of scenes such as doc (document), flower, food, sky, sunrise/sunset, cat, dog, green plants, night, snow, sea, autumn, candlelight, car, grass, maple leaves, succulent, building, city, cloud, overcast and backlight.

The Mi Mix 2S is confirmed by its AnTuTu listing to feature a Snapdragon 845 chip and this could be paired with 8GB of RAM. We expect more teasers from Xiaomi as the days roll by.

The highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is in the news again, this time around an official-looking banner housing the renders and specification of the expected flagship have leaked. The leaked banner surfaced on Weibo this weekend and while we are not sure it is officially from Xiaomi, the renders and specs bear some similarity to previously leaked ones. 

The Mi Mix 2s is expected to pack a Snapdragon 845 flagship chip and that is contained in the said banner. Also listed is a 5.99-inch display which is a full-view display with highly reduced bezels compared to the Mi Mix 2. The device is also tipped to come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage which may likely be on one of the variants. There should be a 6GB RAM-packing variant as well.

Perhaps, the most interesting aspect isn’t the 8GB RAM but the renders which reveal a full-screen design 3.0. The front render shows a higher screen-to-body ratio than what we had seen on previous full-screen phones.  It really does take the edge-to-edge display concept to a whole new level. There are side bezels but the top and bottom bezels are much reduced than the Mi Mix 2. The front camera is also moved from the bottom right corner to the top right corner creating a slight notch at the edge. Other details contained in the leaked banner include a dual 12MP rear camera with Sony IMX363 sensors and since there is no rear fingerprint sensor, the device is tipped to pack an under-display fingerprint sensor and facial recognition. There is also listed an AI technology onboard which powers the facial recognition algorithm. We can’t say if these details are accurate but we really hope they are because they make the Mix 2s look quite interesting to look forward to. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is rumoured to be unveiled before MWC 2018 but no word from Xiaomi yet in that regard.

In what could be termed to be a surprising disclosure, a fresh rumor has emerged that the much-anticipated Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s would be the world’s first Snapdragon 845-powered smartphone. This contrary to widely held expectations that the Samsung Galaxy S9 would have that honor just as the Galaxy S8 was one of the first smartphones to pack a Snapdragon 835 chip. We won’t forget, though, that the Sony Xperia XZ Premium was the first commercial smartphone that was announced with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset at MWC 2017 before the Galaxy S8 and S8+ were launched.

Just recently, we brought you a report where a popular tipster had alleged that the Mix 2s may likely be released even before MWC 2018. The Weibo tipster who made this assertion based his disclosure on reports from the components supply chain. The tipster had asked his followers to guess which device would be the first SD 845 smartphone. We should have known that he left a clue with that question. This latest rumor has now made that bare. The source of the new rumor also stated that the Mix 2s will be the first device to be announced packing Qualcomm’s latest chip but Samsung would get most of the chips for its Galaxy S9 series.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is expected to pack the same full-screen bezel-less design as the Mi Mix 2 as well as an 18:9 aspect ratio. Before now, the chipset that would be onboard the flagship model was unknown but we now know that the device will likely pack a Snapdragon 845 chip. Other details of the device are still unknown as of this moment. By the way, this is just another rumor about the Mi Mix 2s, so don’t take it too seriously until Xiaomi officially confirms it.

We recently got wind of speculations that China’s Xiaomi Inc. would be launching a new Mix 2S along with the Mi 7. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is no doubt an upgraded version of the flagship Mi Mix 2 which was unveiled last year. Xiaomi was tipped to release the device at MWC 2018 but there is a new rumor in town that the Mix 2S may just drop well before the start of MWC 2018.

The source of the rumor happens to be a Weibo tipster who confirmed that Xiaomi is planning the launch of the Mix 2S and that it may even be launched before MWC 2018. He didn’t reveal any further details but asked readers to guess which of the upcoming models would be Xiaomi’s first Snapdragon 845 -powered model. There is no doubt the Mi 7 will covet that crown even though we don’t know the processor the Mi2S would pack. It is unlikely, though, that XIaomi would utilize a Snapdragon 845 chip on the model when a Mi Mix 3 is still expected to be launched, packing an SD 845 chip, later this year.

For the avoidance of doubt, there is no official confirmation of the existence of a Mi Mix 2S. The render of the device which was spotted online recently looked like that of the iPhone X which was photoshopped. But a second picture housing the renders of the device appeared on Slashleak (picture below). As can be seen, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S screen accounts for almost 100% of the device with some more reduction in the bezels compared to the Mix 2.

The front camera is located on the top right corner in this case as against the bottom right on the Mix and Mix 2. As a result, there is an awkward-looking notch on the right side. The bottom bezel also looks more narrow than that of the top edge since the front camera is redeployed to the top. At the rear, the design isn’t different from the Mix 2, with a single rear camera, rear fingerprint sensor with 18K gold decorative ring around the rear camera and a ceramic body. The design looks just perfect for an offshoot of the Mix 2 but still, neither the design or the device itself is yet to be confirmed. The device is expected to be priced around 4000 Yuan.
