While Xiaomi is gearing to launch the Mix 5 smartphones, here we have a new price drop on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4. The smartphone was initially priced at CNY 6299(~$990) for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant. Now, the device has received a CNY 1400(~$220) discount coupon in China. After the discounted price, the smartphone costs CNY 4899(~$770).

Notably, this is even cheaper than the launch price of the base variant of the Mi Mix 4. The base variant was priced at CNY 4,999(~$770) at the time of launch. Having said that, at the price of CNY 4899(~$770), the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 makes for a good flagship phone.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 comes with a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display with a 10-bit color depth. The smartphone has Gorilla Glass Victus protection and the screen has an under-display camera. It sports a 20MP selfie snapper that offers a 4-in-1 Superpixel imaging sensor. It has a 108MP + 8MP + 13MP triple rear cameras.

Under the hood, it is powered by the Snapdragon 888+ SoC and has a 4,500mAh battery. The device has support for 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging support. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner and boots on Android 11 OS.

In related news, this year, Xiaomi is prepping to launch the Xiaomi Mix 5 phones, and the specs look interesting. The Pro model will have a 6.73-inch WQHD+ 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED screen. It will have a 50MP Leica branded lens.

The Double Eleven (Nov. 11) shopping festival of China is drawing near. At present, many smartphone OEMs in China are announcing new phones and discounts on their existing devices ahead of the Double Eleven event. Today, Xiaomi took to Weibo to announce massive discounts on its smartphones like Xiaomi MIX Fold, MIX 4, Xiaomi 11 Pro, Xiaomi 11, and Xiaomi 10S.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold had debuted with a starting price of 9,999 Yuan (~$1,536) in China. With a price cut of 2,500 Yuan (~$390), it will be available with an attractive starting price of 7,499 Yuan (~$1,172). It is Xiaomi’s first foldable phone that features an 8.01-inch foldable AMOLED panel that delivers 1860 x 2480 pixels and a 60Hz refresh rate. It has a 6.52-inch AMOLED display that offers a 90Hz refresh rate on the outside.

The Snapdragon 888 SoC powers the MIX Fold with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. It has a 20-megapixel front camera and a 108-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel telephoto/macro liquid lens + 13-megapixel (ultrawide) triple camera unit. The MIX 4 has a 6.67-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz display, Snapdragon 888 SoC, up to 12 GB of RAM, up to 512 GB of storage, a 20-megapixel under-display camera, and the same 108-megapixel triple camera unit as MIX Fold, a 4,500mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The Xiaomi 11 Pro is another China-exclusive phone that has received a price cut. It had debuted for 4,499 Yuan (~$703), and now it will be available for 3,999 Yuan (~$625) during the upcoming sale.

Xiaomi launched the Mi Mix 4 smartphone in August for a starting price of CNY 4,999(~$777). The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 888+ chipset and has a 108MP triple camera system. Starting from tomorrow, the smartphone will go on sale again across China in the Ceramic White color variant.

It has a 50 MP main sensor with gimbal stabilization, a 16 MP telephoto sensor with OIS, and a great 48 MP ultrawide camera. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is better if we talk about zoom, due to its periscope sensor offering 5x optical zoom. But the ultrawide camera is inferior with its 13 MP resolution.

Battery

Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 and iQOO 8 Pro have exactly the same battery capacity: 4500 mAh. Even the fast charging technology comes with the same power: 120W. It is the same for wireless charging, with a power of 50W. The iQOO 8 Pro offers reverse wireless charging as well, with a power of 10W. Since these phones offer a similar battery life and they are not bad as battery phones, we recommend you to focus on other aspects while choosing between these devices.

Price

The starting price tag of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 in China is €660/$772, just like the base variant of the iQOO 8 Pro. But note that the base variant of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 has 128 GB of internal storage, while the iQOO 8 Pro starts from 128 GB. At the end of the day, both these phones are amazing and which one to buy depends on your personal needs. Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 debuted earlier this month as the company’s first flagship phone with an under-display camera. It was reported before its launch that the company may not release in global markets. However, soon after its launch, the handset was spotted at the Google Play Console. Now, it has received approval from the Bluetooth SIG (via). These listings suggest that the company could be planning to launch it in the global market.

The 2106118C, which is the model number of the Chinese variant of the Mi MIX 4 has been approved by the Bluetooth SIG authority. The listing mentions it runs on MIUI and supports Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. The Bluetooth certification does not necessarily mean that the device is heading to global markets, but the possibility cannot be ruled out.

The Mi MIX 4 that debuted in China does not feature Google Mobile Services (GMS) since it is banned in the country. Therefore, the company does not need to acquire Google Play Console certification to release its devices in China. Now that it has been spotted at Play Console, it does hint that it may arrive in global markets. Hopefully, newer reports will confirm whether the company has any plans to release the Mi MIX 4 outside China.

The last one is the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4, which comes with the 2nd generation under-display camera. Since it packs the best Qualcomm chipset, it is the most powerful Xiaomi device to date. But is it also the most complete flagship of the company? In order to establish this, we decided to compare it to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra as it is the best Mi flagship released this year if we exclude the Mi Mix 4 and the Mi Mix Fold.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 vs Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Design

There is no doubt about the fact that Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 comes with the best design. Thanks to the under-screen camera technology, the display is totally full-screen, without holes and without a notch. And this is not all: the phone is also built with an outstanding ceramic back and it comes with the Gorilla Glass Victus protection for the front glass. Unfortunately, the Xiaomi Mi Mix is not waterproof but only splash resistant, while its internal rival is waterproof with the IP68 certification.

Display

Despite the presence of an under-screen camera on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has a superior display. It shows a higher level of detail thanks to a higher 1440p resolution (also known as Quad HD+). The panel is an AMOLED which shows up to one billion colors, with a wider diagonal of 6.81 inches, a 120 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, and Dolby Vision support. You also get an in-display fingerprint reader with these handsets, as well as the Gorilla Glass Victus protection for the glass and a curved edge to edge panel.

Specs & Software

You can get a performance boost with the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 because it sports a slightly better processor: instead of the Snapdragon 888 powering most of the Android flagships released in 2021, this device comes with the Snapdragon 888+ paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has the same memory configuration in its most expensive variant, but it is fueled by the lower-end Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. The phones run Android 11 out of the box, customized by MIUI 12.5. Note that the Mi Mix 4 ships with the Enhanced Edition of the MIUI 12.5.

Camera

If you are looking for the best camera phone, then you should go for the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra without thinking twice. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has a 50 MP main camera, a 48 MP periscope sensor with 5x optical zoom, and a 48 MP ultrawide camera. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 has a great 108 MP main camera, but its secondary sensors are inferior: there is an 8 MP periscope camera with 5x optical zoom and a 13 MP ultrawide sensor. Note that Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 has an under-display camera, but it is a camera at the same level as the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra.

Battery

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra has a bigger 5000 mAh battery and this means that its battery life can be longer. Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 has just 4500 mAh, but it has a faster charging technology with a max power of 120W. On the other hand, wireless charging has a lower power (50W vs 67W).

Price

The starting price of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra for the Chinese market is 5.999 Yuan, which roughly translates into $914. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 starts from $770 and it is a bit more affordable. Overall, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is a superior device. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is more innovative with its under-screen camera and a better processor (if we exclude the secondary rear display of the Mi 11 Ultra), but the Ultra has better cameras and a bigger battery, so it provides a superior user experience.

The device offers an in-display fingerprint scanner, 108MP cameras, and 120W fast charging support for under ~$800. It went on its first sale on August 16 in the region and now, it is scheduled to go on sale again tomorrow at 10 AM China time.

Those who missed buying the device in the first sale can go ahead and pick it up tomorrow from Xiaomi’s official website and other authorized retail stores. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is priced at CNY 4,999(~$770) for the 8GB + 128GB variant and CNY 5,299(~$817) for the 8GB + 256GB variant. The display also doubles up as an in-display fingerprint scanner offering added security.

It has a triple camera system at the rear sporting a 108MP HMX primary sensor, an 8MP periscope lens, and lastly a 13MP ultra-wide sensor. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Xiaomi unveiled the Mi Mix 4 last week in China with impressive specs like Snapdragon 888+ SoC, 108MP cameras, and 50W wireless charging. Today, Xiaomi has revealed that the flagship phone comes with another impressive feature called Smart Charging which protects the phone’s battery from getting damaged while charging excessively.

A couple of months back, Xiaomi was seen testing a feature called MIUI Battery Health Indicator which evidently showed the estimated health status of the battery. The feature was similar to Apple’s Battery health feature and was first rolled out to the Redmi Note 10. Now, the new Smart Charging feature is an addition to the previous battery feature, but it is currently exclusive to the newly launched Mi Mix 4.

According to Xiaomi, the feature will intelligently learn the daily charging habits of the Mi Mix 4 and timely behavior of charging and discharging. Based on long-term data, the feature will regulate the battery and hence improving the battery health.

Practically, when the feature is turned on from the settings, it will learn the charging time at night and discharging time in the morning through AI. This function will therefore allow the device to charge comfortably at night, and as soon as it’s time to wake up, it will intentionally transmit the charge, ensuring that it is fully juiced up in the morning. In a long run, the Smart Charging feature will save the battery from aging quickly.

But, recent leaks deny these sensors and claim that the phone may come with a whopping 108MP triple camera system.

Recently, the smartphone appeared on Geekbench with model number 2106118C. The listing confirmed that the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset clocked at up to 3.00 GHz. It was spotted with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It is expected to come with a base configuration of 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage. It will also come in a higher 512GB storage configuration.

According to the 3C certifications, the smartphone will pack a 4,500mAh battery with support for 120W wired fast charging. It may also come with a 50W wireless charging support.

As for the software, a tipster revealed that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will boot on MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11. On top of it, Xiaomi’s PR department said that the upcoming MIUI 13 still has a long way to go as it is currently in the works. This inexplicitly reveals that the current MIUI 12.5 will run on the Mi Mix 4 smartphone.

Unfortunately, there weren’t any massive price leaks of the smartphone but, it is expected to come at a premium price range. The flagship Mi 11 Ultra, which was released in March this year, was priced in the ~$1,000 range in China, and we should expect the Mi Mix 4 to cost way more than that.

Xiaomi will launch the Mi Mix 4 smartphone on August 10 in China. Ahead of its launch, the device went on pre-reservation on multiple platforms like JD.com, Mi Mall, and Xiaomi’s Tmall store. Now, it is learned that the reservations have exceeded a whopping 230,000.

These numbers include the total pre-reservations done for the smartphone on all of the platforms. JD.com, the popular shopping portal itself has 150,000 registrations. On the other hand, the other two portals received 80,000 registrations.

Other than this, the smartphone’s specifications and other key details have been already learned. According to the Geekbench listing, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM. It scored 863 single-core points and 3181 multi-core points on the Geekbench 5.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 with model number Xiaomi 2106118C is expected to come with a 6.6-inch OLED display panel. It will feature an under-display selfie camera and a triple rear camera system. The rear setup will be led by a 50MP main sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and lastly a 48MP telephoto sensor.

The poster bears the title “new technology, new understanding” and contains a silhouette of what we believe to be the Mix 4 pointed toward a TV.

The Ultra-wideband (UWB) is a radio-based communication technology for short-range use and fast and stable transmission of data. It is a more advanced version of Bluetooth as it can precisely locate smart devices up to centimeter-level. A couple of months back, it was first rumored that the Mix 4 will arrive with a UWB chip.

A second teaer shared today by the company further reaffirms the Mix 4 will come with an under display camera teachnology. Xiaomi has been rumored to be working on a next-generation of its Mi MIX series flagship smartphone which is expected to go official in the third quarter of this year. The upcoming phone of the MIX series, Mi MIX 4, launching after three years, is said to offer an ultimate full-screen experience to the users.

Now, a new report coming from China claims that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will be made available in only one version that will have an under-display camera sensor. There won’t be a traditional version of the phone as rumored earlier, says the report.

Apart from that, the report also adds that the pricing of the Mi MIX 4 will be higher than the price of the Mi 11 Ultra flagship smartphone from Xiaomi, which is touted as the “Light of Android” because of its top-of-the-line specifications.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 could possibly miss 2K screen resolution support but the report adds that it may come with a specially customized high-screen resolution which will offer better display results compared to Full-HD+ screen resolution.

Twitter handle Xiaomiui, which is known for spilling information about the upcoming Xiaomi phones, has shared the key specifications of the alleged Mi MIX 4.

Xiaomiui has claimed that it has come across a new Xiaomi device with the model number K2B in the MIUI code. The device is codenamed ODIN. Since it is speculated to arrive with some advanced features like an in-screen selfie camera and support for mmWave 5G, it is speculated that it could be a premium device from Xiaomi. Probably, this handset could be the upcoming Xiaomi Mi MIX 4.

The alleged Mi MIX 4 could be featuring a Quad HD+ resolution supporting AMOLED display. It may offer users a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen could be integrated with a fingerprint scanner. The Snapdragon 888 chipset is expected to power the handset.

For photography, it could be equipped with a Sony IMX766 50-megapixel primary camera, a 48-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the company will be launching a new Mi MIX series smartphone later this year. Along with the Mi MIX 4, the company is also confirmed to launch a tablet device.

Ahead of the launch of the Mi MIX 4, more and more information related to the smartphone keep surfacing online. One such report is claiming that the device will come with the leading display design.

It claims that the phone will have a full-screen design without any notches. It could mean that Xiaomi could be among the first phone makers to launch a smartphone with under-display camera technology.

So far, only ZTE has launched a smartphone with under-display camera technology. It had launched the Axon 20 5G last year and is now gearing up to launch its successor, dubbed as the Axon 30.

Xiaomi had earlier teased the under-display camera technology using a prototype device. Last year, in September, it was reported that the company’s under-display cameras made by TCL CSOT could arrive in 2021.

There are also reports that the Mi MIX 4 could feature the four-sided waterfall display with 88-degree curves which was recently unveiled by Xiaomi. However, do note that all these have not been confirmed by the company yet.

We expect more details about the smartphone to surface online and teased by the company as the launch date nears. Till then, we will have to rely on leaks and reports hitting at possible specs and features.

While not much is known about the upcoming Mi MIX smartphone at this time, reports say that the company could be opting for a foldable design that can be opened and closed like a book. In that case, it will be the first foldable smartphone from Xiaomi.

Another possibility is that the company may adopt the new four-side waterfall display with 88-degree curves on all sides. The display was unveiled a few days ago with a concept smartphone and it could end up being used in the Mi MIX 4.

Although Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has confirmed to launch the company’s new Mi MIX smartphone later this year, there is no timeline available for this. It’s noteworthy that the Mi MIX device will be launching after a gap of two years.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 has been in the rumour mills for a long time running now. When we expected the Chinese tech giant to deliver the Mix 4, we instead got the Mix Alpha concept which won’t be available to buy just yet. That has kept the rumours alive. A recent listing for the Mix 4 on Jingdong did not help matters. The latest leak about the Mi Mix 4 is a couple of live pictures said to be of the device.

The pictures first appeared on Slashleak but have been labelled as fake by Xiaomi’s product director Wang Teng Thomas via Weibo. However, the images look real and contain some interesting features that would be amazing to have on the Mix 4. Besides, we really can’t take Xiaomi for its word since we have seen them backtrack on several occasions on statements made, in order to spring up a surprise. This may be one of such statement meant to keep the surprise intact.

The most prominent of this is the in-display selfie camera design instead of a pop-up, notch or punch-hole design. The two sensors are located centrally at the top of the display. Xiaomi had patented the in-display dual-camera design in September this year in China. However, it is very unlikely that the design will be used on the Mix 4 even though we can’t be so sure.

The leak also tips the Xiaomi Mix 4 to come with a curved display with QuadHD resolution It will be powered by a Snapdragon 855+ SoC and come with UFS 3.0 flash storage. The display will also have support for 60, 90 and 120HZ refresh rates. The in-display selfie camera is said to be a 12MP+2MP combo while at the rear, there is a quad-camera setup of 108MP + 20MP + 12MP + 5MP sensors.

We expect Xiaomi to spring up a surprise pretty soon regarding the Mix 4 launch.

Xiaomi has been quite frisky with the naming pattern for the Mi Mix series right after the first-gen Mix smartphone. The company launched the Mi Mix 2 and when we expected a Mix 3, the company took the wraps off the Mi Mix 2s and did also launch the Mix 3 a couple of months later. This year, attention was focused on getting the Mi Mix 4 but the Chinese innovative company added a twist by announcing the Mix Alpha with an entirely new design outlook.

To complete the twist, Xiaomi China’s brand promotion manager, Edward Bishop was reported to have disclosed that there won’t be a Mix 4 this year. Well, that was the message his statement on Weibo a few days back was interpreted to mean. However, the Xiaomi exec has released a fresh statement, three days after, to clarify that he never confirmed there won’t be a Mi Mix 4 this year. He was quick to add that he isn’t also confirming if there is a Mi Mix 4 smartphone coming this year.

This again opens up a ray of hope of a more affordable Mix series smartphone coming this year. When we talk of affordability, it is relative to the Mi Mix Alpha’s staggering above $2k price tag. Earlier on, popular leakster Ice Universe had hinted that there will be a Mix 4 soon, as the 108MP sensor won’t be for the Mix Alpha alone. The Mix Alpha’s price means it won’t be within the grasp of most Xiaomi fans. Well, except you are willing to trade off some of your body organs to be able to afford the concept phone. Alternatively, we may have to wait a few more years when a Mix Alpha 3 or higher must have been released in order to get the current Mix Alpha at a lower price.

Last week, Xiaomi launched a couple of smartphones, which included Mi 9 Pro 5G and the Mi MIX Alpha concept smartphone. However, the company was expected to launch the Mi MIX 4 but instead we got the MIX Alpha concept phone.

Now, as it turns out, the reports were right about Xiaomi working on Mi MIX 4 smartphone, the successor of the Mi MIX 3. The device has been listed on online retailer JD.com which suggests that the phone will get launched by the end of October.

The listing also reveals that the phone will come in two variants based on connectivity support — 4G and 5G. However, apart from this, nothing is known about this upcoming smartphone from Xiaomi. The phone is listed for a price of 9,999 Yuan which is just a placeholder and not the actual pricing.

If the previous reports are to be believed, then the Mi MIX 4 will come featuring a waterfall display offering very high screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, ensuring powerful and smooth performance.

In the camera department, the smartphone will come with 108-megapixel primary sensor on the back, making it the second such device from Xiaomi after Mi MIX Alpha. The launch event will be held in China by the end of October where we’ll get to know what the company is offering in this smartphone. A new product landing page from Xiaomi has surfaced online, which reveals two upcoming smartphones — Mi 9 Pro 5G and Mi MIX 4. The leaks also hints that both the devices will be soon be launched together.

While the company has not yet revealed the phone’s launch date, reports indicate that the launch event could take place on 24th September. Xiaomi has officially revealed that the company’s second 5G smartphone — Mi 9 Pro 5G will come with the 30W Super Fast Wireless Charging support.

The smartphone has already been certified by TENAA, which reveals that the phone will come with a 6.39-inch display and should come powered by Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, and will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery.

Xiaomi is reportedly working on a new smartphone that is codenamed as Hercules. Early information that has appeared through its source code have revealed the key specs of the smartphone. It has been found that the Xiaomi Hercules phone is powered by the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. While the exact identity of the phone is under the wraps, it is being speculated that it could be the forthcoming Xiaomi Mi MIX 4.

According to leaked information released by Mishaal Rahman who is the Editor-in-Chief with XDA Developers, the Xiaomi Hercules will be arriving with triple rear-mounted cameras and a front-facing camera. The smartphone will carry support for wireless charging.

Among the connectivity features, the Xiaomi Hercules smartphone will be equipped with NFC. It will be also arriving with an in-display fingerprint reader. Well, these specs are also available on the Xiaomi Mi 9 flagship phone that was announced in February.

Probably, the Xiaomi Hercules phone could be the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 flagship phone. If it is really the next Mi MIX series phone, it may arrive with some specs that are identical with Mi 9 along with a marvelous design. The Mi MIX series have been always known for its captivating full screen design. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 from last year is a slider smartphone with full screen design.
