AnTuTu has compiled a list of its top 10 smartphones for January 2017 based on user’s preference and in continuation of its monumental exploits, the Xiaomi Mi Mix came top in the list.

According to AnTuTu, the criteria for selection seems to be based on the number of favorable reviews and comments by individuals. But in the overall, the positive review rate is said to be very strong with the top 10 devices scoring above 80% in the rating, higher than the average of 60%.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix which had the highest rating scored 94.4%, while the OnePlus 3 came second with 89.93%. The OnePlus 3T came in at third, closely followed by the Meizu Pro 6Plus and then Huawei Mate 9 at fifth.The Vivo XPlay 6 sits at the sixth position while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 continues to occupy a place in the top 10 chart despite having a successor. The Redmi Note 3 is at number seven position. 360 Q5 Plus, Meizu Pro 6s and 360 N4S completes the list.

Despite its huge popularity, Mi Mix topping the chart for January 2017 is still surprising. The device is quite hard to come by, with production slowed down by the ceramic glass body it features. Just in case you are wondering how come Samsung’s devices are not on the list, only the Galaxy S7 Edge made it into the list, situated within the 11th to 20th positions where you also get smartphones such as ZUK Z2 Pro, Honor 8, Honor V8, Xiaomi Max, Xiaomi Mi 5.

The Mi Mix is said to be difficult to produce, that we know, but what we didn’t know is the level of difficulty. Xiaomi‘s CEO has just given us an idea of how difficult it is for the Xiaomi Mi Mix concept phone to be mass produce by disclosing that the company has only managed to mass produced 100,000 units of the flagship so far.

The CEO hinted this while fielding questions during the Geek Park Innovation conference held recently in China. The tech giant’s henchman spoke of several issues concerning the future of the smartphone industry and other and as usual, the Mi Mix was expected in the discussion. While explaining the reason for the scarcity of the concept device, the CEO admitted that the output is poor most especially because of the process involved in producing the ceramic glass body which the device features.

The Xiaomi executive also gave his take on foldable smartphones which he thinks isn’t the future of the smartphone industry and that smartphones with full-screen displays could be the next high-end item to compete for in the industry very soon.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix is hardly available for purchase, with the stock running out at quick intervals during flash sales. There is no likelihood that the production will be shored up anytime soon as the company seems to be focusing on reviving the ailing brand by launching more sleeker smartphones and concentrating its strategies to help rake in more revenue this year.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix Pearl White Edition was officially unveiled by Xiaomi today in its maiden conference at CES 2017. The Pearl White edition of its barrier-breaking flagship concept phone takes the centre stage as the first product that the company announced during the presentation  which also saw the launch of several other innovative products.

The Mi Mix Pear white edition had been popping in and out of leaked images over the past few months and recently, the company conducted a quick poll to find out which of the color variant was more preferred and indeed the white version came top. It is better understood why many persons would want to go for the Pearl White Edition of the Mi Mix, taking a look at these hands-on images / pictures of the concept device.

Certainly, the design remains the same as on the black colored version but it is not known if the body of this latest edition is made out of Ceramic as well. Sure we wouldn’t mind having an all metal smartphone, as long as it is readily available for purchase. In case you are not aware, the ceramic glass body is fingered for the slow production of the Mi Mix, leading to a huge scarcity of the device.

A launch at CES 2017 means Xiaomi is set to sell the device globally and it would be good to see this go on sale. Perhaps, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Pearl White Edition is just the right spring board to help propel Xiaomi on the international scene. The company also has a great lineup of unique products that could supplement the Mi Mix. Unfortunately Xiaomi was mute about the international availability of the device.

For the avoidance of doubt, the specification didn’t change, this version still features same 6.4-inch FHD display, Snapdragon 821 chip, 4GB/6GB RAM, 128GB / 256GB storage, a 16MP rear camera with EIS that shoots 4K videos, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
