Camera

When it comes to photo and videos, Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro wins because of its overall camera performance. I like both its dual rear camera and its dual front camera setups, even though the rear one remains a midrange-class setup and it loses a lot of detail in low-light conditions. Motorola One Power is at the second place with a brighter aperture than Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro for the rear camera and a pretty nice front camera. We still did not test Asus Zenfone Max M2, but on the paper it is disappointing.

Battery

As said in the first paragraph, the battery is the strongest point of these smartphones which come with huge lithium units. Motorola One Power wins the battery challenge because of a bigger 5000 mAh battery allowing it to last even more than two days with a stressed use. But its opponents still provide a very long battery life, so you should not worry in any case if you are looking for a phone with an excellent battery life.

Price

I would personally choose Motorola One Power because of its bigger battery, Android One and its faster updates, good performances, and decent cameras. But it costs more than its opponents: about €270/$307, while Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is easy to find at less than €200/$227 and Asus Zenfone Max M2 costs about €171/$195. Anyways, I would definitely spend up to €100 more for a better phone like Motorola One Power. The company had conducted four flash sales yesterday for the Redmi Note 6 Pro. However, Xiaomi has released numbers of the first sale only and is yet to reveal more details about the other three sales. The phone comes in four color options —  Black, Rose Gold, Blue, and Red.

While the starting price of the Redmi Note 6 Pro in India is Rs. 13,999 (approximately $199) for the 4GB RAM model, the phone was available for Rs. 12,999 as a limited time offer. The 6GB RAM model is priced at Rs. 15,999, which roughly converts to $227.

The phone features a 6.26-inch IPS LCD display, featuring a larger notch since it houses two camera sensors, an earpiece, a notification LED and some other sensors.

Xiaomi has today launched the Redmi Note 5 successor in Indonesia, dubbed Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro. The phone comes with four cameras and an all-new AI Portrait mode.

In terms of design, the phone comes with an aluminum unibody arc design with rounded corners. The upper and lower parts are made of plastic to provide a better antenna signal transmission. The phone still has a 3.5mm headphone jack but it still comes with a micro USB port instead of the new USB Type-C port.

Coming to the phone’s specifications, the Redmi Note 6 Pro features a 6.26-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch on top. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 processor which uses the latest Kryo microarchitecture.

After weeks of leaks, Xiaomi has now officially released the Redmi Note 6 Pro in Thailand. The mid-range smartphone is the successor to the Redmi Note 5 Pro but it’s not a major upgrade.

In Thailand, the phone is priced at 6,990 baht, which roughly converts to 1,499 yuan or $216. It comes in three color options to choose from — Black, Blue, and Rose Gold.

In terms of design, the phone comes with an aluminum unibody design while the upper and lower parts are made of plastic to provide a better antenna signal transmission. The phone still has a 3.5mm headphone jack but the company has opted for a micro USB port instead of USB Type-C port.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro features a 6.26-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, which is slightly bigger than the Redmi Note 5 Pro‘s 5.99-inch display. Unlike its predecessor, the phone comes with a notch on top of the display.

Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor — the same chipset that powers the Redmi Note 5 Pro. It packs 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, along with a microSD card slot that enables you to further expand the phone’s storage capacity.

Coming to the camera department, it bears a dual-camera setup on the back, with a primary sensor of 12-megapixel with Dual Pixel autofocus and f/1.9 aperture, and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor for depth sensing. Interestingly, on the front side too, the phone has AI Dual Cameras, with a 20-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. There’s also support for Portrait Mode and Face Unlock feature.

The phone runs Android Oreo operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own MIUI 9 on top. It comes with the usual set of connectivity options and is fuelled by a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging support, which the company says can last for two days on a single charge.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is joining the band of Xiaomi models whose specs, renders and other key details are already in the open long before they are launched. There have been quite a number of leaks surrounding the Redmi Note 6 Pro and the device has even been listed on several e-commerce websites like Giztop, AliExpress, LightInTheBox etc. We have also seen several leaked pictures and even a video of the device in the real skin. None of these offers more details than the unboxing video of the Redmi Note 6 Pro which was posted by Youtuber Technical Guruji on his YouTube channel.

The video offers us a detailed video of the Redmi Note 6 Pro unboxing. It takes us through the entire process right from when it is still inside the retail box. The retail box only houses the device, a USB cable and a 10W charging adapter which some might see as disappointing.  The phone is confirmed to feature a huge 6.26-inch notch display screen with a 19:9 aspect ratio and FHD+ resolution. It will still utilise the Snapdragon 636 chipset just like the Redmi Note 5 Pro but this particular model in the unboxing video has the modest 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage. It runs MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

The camera aspect sees the Redmi Note 6 Pro sporting dual cameras comprising a 12MP main sensor with 1.4µm pixels aperture and Dual Pixel AF and there is a 5MP secondary sensor. The device also comes with dual selfie shooters is a 20MP+2MP combo. The phone also packs a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Keeping the lights on is a 4000mAh battery which comes with Quick Charge support. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack on top and an IR blaster.

It is almost certain that Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 6 Pro soon even though the exact date is yet to be confirmed. The device is confirmed to feature a mammoth 6.26-inch FHD+ display which is a perfect fit for watching videos online. This is in the same category as the Mi Max 3’s display. However, the Redmi Note 6 Pro offers way more firepower, packing a Snapdragon 660 premium chipset. The device will equally be available in 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM versions while the storage options include 32GB, 64GB and 128GB respectively.

On the camera end, Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro also excels, sporting a dual camera setup at the rear and another dual camera at the front. The rear setup is a 12MP+5MP combo while the selfie shooters is a 20MP+2MP combo. The phone also packs a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and on the software end, it runs MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Keeping the lights on is a 4000mAh battery which comes with Quick Charge support. On the design aspect, the rear design looks like the Redmi Note 5 Pro but the front differentiates both models. The Redmi Note 6 Pro has a notch design which thus means its bezels are thinner and the screen ratio is bigger upon a larger display screen. The Redmi Note 5 Pro is just 5.99 inches.
