Xiaomi has launched several products other than smartphones as it has a wide portfolio. In the latest development, the Chinese company has launched a new smart door lock in the Chinese market.

The newly launched Xiaomi Smart Door Lock M20 Cat Eye Version is now available for pre-order in China for the price of 1,899 yuan which roughly converts to $277.

The Xiaomi Smart Door Lock M20 Cat Eye Version comes with a large screen on the device that acts as a peephole, a feature that was missing in the original version of the M20 launched sometime back.

It comes with a built-in 180-degree ultra-wide angle camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens and support for a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. It appears that the company will be providing free cloud storage where the recorded video clips will be stored for free for three days.

The device has a 3.97-inch display, making it easier for users to take a look at the outside activities from inside the house. There’s also an innovative anti-pitch design, a fully automatic noise-reducing lock body with support for automatic locking, and is also equipped with an inductive electronic doorbell with multiple unlocking methods.

Xiaomi Smart Door Lock M20 Cat Eye Version comes with support for the Xiaomi Smart Home Ecology. As for the battery, the door lock has a battery life of 12 months, while the Cat Eye unit has a battery life of around 4 to 6 months.

Xiaomi has now started to accept pre-orders for the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock M20. The new smart door lock features 7 ways to open the door and it is priced at 1,799 yuan (~$270). The Xiaomi Smart Door Lock M20 also features an anti-pinch hand design and a high-strength alloy frame.

The Xiaomi smart door lock M20 features an innovative full-board push-pull architecture. The smart door lock allows you to customize the holding direction to avoid an accidental pinch of the door. The unlocking options available with the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock M20 include fingerprint, smartphone, password, NFC password, Home kit, periodic, and one-time password. These unlocking options offer a variety of ways of authorizing entry into the house.

The Xiaomi Smart Door Lock M20 has a fully-automatic lock body that houses a power system. The mechanism for opening the door lock starts with verification and authentication of the request. After the successful verification, the main door lock will retract to grant access to the user. You can push or pull the handle to enter in. The door will automatically lock thereafter.

The powerful main door lock of the M20 can withstand up to 6000N lateral external force and prevent its disassembling. The device features several alarms that are activated to notify the owner of an abnormal door look, multiple trial and error attempts, external panel prying, and so on. The Xiaomi Smart Door Lock M20 uses 8 AA batteries that can deliver up to 10 months of service. It also features emergency unlock capability via the Type-C port of the outer lock.

Overall, the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock M20 has gone through a rigorous stress testing regimen. These include endurance, sweat resistance, temperature tolerance, as well as opening and closing. A global release could be on the books, but for now, the Smart Door Lock M20 is only available in China.
