<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/">Xiaomi</a> is set to unveil a brand-new smartwatch for kids: <strong>Xiaomi Kids Smartwatch 7C</strong>! We know Xiaomi is known for its diverse range of products. The company is now launching a new watch specifically designed for children very soon. We have spotted the upcoming Smartwatch 7C in our IMEI database.</p>

<h2>Xiaomi Kids Smartwatch 7C</h2>

<p>We have spotted the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi-smartwatch/">Xiaomi Smartwatch</a> 7C with the model number <strong>MTSB28XUN</strong>, in our database. Unfortunately, this is the only information we have. Our latest findings confirm that this watch will debut soon, though we don’t have any details on the specs yet. Nevertheless, Xiaomi’s devices aimed at kids are usually very useful for both children and their parents.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="233" data-id="641935" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Xiaomi-Kids-SmartWatch-7C-MTSB28XUN-1024x233.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-641935" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Xiaomi-Kids-SmartWatch-7C-MTSB28XUN-1024x233.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Xiaomi-Kids-SmartWatch-7C-MTSB28XUN-300x68.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Xiaomi-Kids-SmartWatch-7C-MTSB28XUN-768x175.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Xiaomi-Kids-SmartWatch-7C-MTSB28XUN-696x158.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Xiaomi-Kids-SmartWatch-7C-MTSB28XUN-1068x243.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Xiaomi-Kids-SmartWatch-7C-MTSB28XUN.jpg 1381w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Xiaomi Kids Smartwatch 7C MTSB28XUN</figcaption></figure>
</figure>

<p>The upcoming Xiaomi Kids Smartwatch 7C will feature 4G connectivity support, which is actually a crucial element for a kid&#8217;s smartwatch. This allows children without phones to make audio calls to their parents with only the smartwatch. Parents worried about their children spending too much time on phones may buy this watch to maintain basic communication. While it might not be a perfect use case scenario, it’s great to see Xiaomi introducing a device specifically for kids.</p>

<p>There are indications that the<a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi"> Xiaomi </a>S3 series of smartwatches may be getting a new model soon. A new Xiaomi smartwatch has gotten the 3C certification, indicating an imminent product launch. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="600" height="400" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/xiaomi-watch.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi S3 smartwatch" class="wp-image-628623" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/xiaomi-watch.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/xiaomi-watch-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></figure></div>

<p>The 3C certification is among the certifications obtained before the product&#8217;s final release. While the 3C listing did not list the device&#8217;s name, it is tipped as a Watch S3 series model. The certification page did reveal the device’s charging rating and other details. According to the details extracted from the 3C website, the new Xiaomi smartwatch has the model number M2312W1 and supports 10W charging.</p>

<p>The Xiaomi Watch S3 already launched with a 1.43-inch AMOLED colorful large screen with a 10Hz refresh rate, 326 PPI, and 600 nits of maximum brightness. It offers 256 automatic brightness levels and comes with the industry’s first variable design. The color and style of the bezel can be removed and replaced when needed. The watch will automatically sense and trigger an exclusive customized dial, offering various style combinations for the watch. The smartwatch is equipped with the Unisoc W117 chip with a built-in LPDDR2, 1.0GHz A7 CPU core with support for complete eSIM/ eSIM independent communication. Users can use the network independently without connecting to a mobile phone.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="600" height="118" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/xiaomi-watch-3C.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Watch 3C" class="wp-image-628622" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/xiaomi-watch-3C.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/xiaomi-watch-3C-300x59.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Xiaomi Watch S3 runs on the Surge OS with a seamless connection to the Xiaomi smart ecosystem. One major highlight of the smartwatch is the ability to unlock the Xiaomi SU7 Electric Vehicle. With the ability to unlock the SU7, Xiaomi may be looking to expand its ecosystem of connected devices to its new SUV. There are no official details yet regarding the launch date and price of the new Xiaomi Watch model at this time.</p>

The new wearable is set to launch on 27th September 2021 and will be the latest smartwatch from the company.</p>
<p>As per the latest teaser poster, the Chinese tech giant&#8217;s Watch Color 2 will sport a round dial and will be available for purchase in 6 color straps. Furthermore, the company will also offer over 200 dial faces to choose from online. Back in 2020, the first <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/03/xiaomi-watch-color-went-on-sale-for-799-yuan-114-unboxing-video-revealed/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Watch Color</a> was launched with a 1.39 inch AMOLED display that offered 14 days of battery life. This version offered Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, 5ATM water resistance, and more. Since then, the company even launched a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/20/xiaomi-watch-color-sports-edition-launched/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Color Sport</a> variant as well that brought GPS functionality and blood oxygen detection, among other features.</p>

<p>In other words, we can expect the upcoming Watch Color 2 to also feature many of these features with slight improvements. Although, we can expect the usual heart rate and activity tracking features along with a similar battery life. But the brand has yet to reveal any finer details regarding this smartwatch as of right now. Notably, the September 27 launch event will also include the announcement for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/09/22/xiaomi-civi-a-new-smartphone-series-to-launch-on-september-27/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Xiaomi CIVI smartphone</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/09/24/xiaomi-true-wireless-noise-cancelling-earphones-3-pro-launching-27-sept/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Xiaomi True Wireless Noise Cancelling Earphones</a> and other products. And today (31st December 2019), the General Manager of Xiaomi&#8217;s Ecological Chain, Qu Heng, explained the strategy behind the Xiaomi Color Watch and the wearables/IoT devices as a whole through Weibo.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-298076 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color-live-photo-c.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Watch Color live photo" width="440" height="587" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color-live-photo-c.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color-live-photo-c-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color-live-photo-c-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></p>
<p>According to Qu Heng, many people did not expect a New Year release of a new wearable product. Furthermore, the Xiaomi Watch Color is a new start for the company which is now focusing on a new category that intends to deliver smart bands with a long-lasting battery life that is useful at work, exercising and even when relaxing.</p>
<h4>True Smartwatches and Long lasting Smartwatches</h4>
<p>One of the core ideas the General Manager wanted to get across is that he hopes the industry distinguishes between a &#8220;true smartwatch&#8221; and a &#8220;long battery life smartwatch.&#8221; He states that the difference between the two categories should be clear, offering the user more knowledge and the right to choose between both of them. Hu Qeng mentions that a true smartwatch should use eSIMs and have the ability to make calls and download apps, and function independently from a smartphone to some degree.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-298073 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color-live-photo-d.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Watch Color live photo" width="440" height="783" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color-live-photo-d.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color-live-photo-d-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color-live-photo-d-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></p>
<h4>Customizability</h4>
<p>Going forward, Xiaomi with the Watch Color also wanted to make the wearables a more sought after and attractive product; One that a person might wear fashionably as well as for utility. It needed to be trendy and yet maintain strong cultural attributes as well. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer apparently took cues from the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/12/25/xiaomi-mi-band-4-emerges-as-best-selling-fitness-tracker-in-japan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mi Band 4</a> and brought all the popular functions, themes, and UI functions to the Watch Color.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/12/31/xiaomi-rd-production-line-kicks-off-today-mi-9-pro-5g-manufactured/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Xiaomi R&amp;D production line kicks off today, Mi 9 Pro 5G manufactured</a></strong></h6>
<p>Additionally, the company added a larger screen, more color options and also offered multiple dials themes to choose from (options for leather bands for formal wear is a welcomed option too). All of this translates to a freely customizable experience so the user is never bound to a particular look that an OEM dictates.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-298074 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color-live-photo-a.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Watch Color live photo" width="440" height="587" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color-live-photo-a.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color-live-photo-a-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color-live-photo-a-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></p>
<h4>Making wearables more essential</h4>
<p>Xiaomi had intended to make the Watch Color a more accessible and go to product from the company. It was meant to be more supplementary to a user&#8217;s life and not just a luxury tech product offered alongside its smartphones. In other words, it is not just an accessory but aims to be a part of one&#8217;s life. With the launch of the Xiaomi Watch Color, the company plans to target the individualistic needs of a user that may require a true smartwatch or a long-lasting smartwatch.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-297805 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Watch Color Poster" width="690" height="958" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color-216x300.jpg 216w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Mi-Watch-Color-303x420.jpg 303w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>The Xiaomi Watch Color also fills in the gap between Mi Band 4 and Xiaomi Watch. The release was from a core strategic point of view and the new Xiaomi wearable product only seeks to boost its AIoT lineup. Lastly, this entry from the company might also end up encouraging other OEMs to offer long lasting smartwatches as well.</p>

This marks the first true smartwatch from the company, after launching four successive generations of the fitness-centric Mi Band series since 2014. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi&#8217;s</a> first real smartwatch is special not just because it&#8217;s feature-rich, but also because the company has a reputation of shaking-up every industry that it enters.</p>
<h3>Xiaomi Mi Watch Is A Cheaper Apple Watch</h3>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-4.jpeg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-287419" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-4.jpeg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi Watch" width="640" height="481" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-4.jpeg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-4-300x225.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-4-80x60.jpeg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-4-265x198.jpeg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-4-559x420.jpeg 559w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></a></p>
<p>Xiaomi has shamelessly copied the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-watch">Apple Watch</a> for the Mi Watch&#8217;s design and that&#8217;s not necessarily a bad thing. Apple Watch is one of the best smartwatches available in the market today and taking inspiration from the best is always a good sign. But I just wish it wasn&#8217;t an exact replica of the Apple Watch, especially since <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> has released a number of original designs in the past, including the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/26/mi-mix-alpha-official-case/">Mi Mix Alpha</a> and the original Mi Mix.</p>
<p>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Apple-Watch.jpeg?x44794'><img width="588" height="521" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Apple-Watch.jpeg?x44794" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="Apple Watch" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Apple-Watch.jpeg 588w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Apple-Watch-300x266.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Apple-Watch-474x420.jpeg 474w" sizes="(max-width: 588px) 100vw, 588px" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-4.jpeg?x44794'><img width="640" height="481" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-4.jpeg?x44794" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="Xiaomi Mi Watch" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-4.jpeg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-4-300x225.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-4-80x60.jpeg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-4-265x198.jpeg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-4-559x420.jpeg 559w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></a>
</p>
<p>Now that we have established that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mi-watch">Mi Watch</a> design isn&#8217;t original, let&#8217;s take a closer look at its body. The smartwatch comes with a square touchscreen display protected by <del>sapphire</del> Corning gorilla glass 3. The watch features a 1.78-inch <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/amoled">AMOLED</a> curved display with 326 PPI. The back of the watch is made out of ceramic.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s a crown on the right that can be used to navigate through the watch UI. Apart from the crown, there&#8217;s a multi-purpose button as well as a microphone on the right side. On the left, you have another microphone hole along with a speaker vent. The Mi Watch features an aluminum alloy body with a matte finish, but it has sharper curves than the Apple Watch. At the bottom, you&#8217;ll see the pins for the charging dock and the heart rate monitor.</p>

<p>Coming to the strap, Xiaomi is offering removable straps made out of fluoro rubber which is skin-friendly and anti-allergic. There are multiple color options including white, blue, silver, and black. Note that the strap buckle comes with the MI branding in a metallic black shade.</p>

<h3>Xiaomi Mi Watch is the first to use the SD3100 4G chip</h3>
<p>Inside, the Xiaomi Mi Watch comes with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon">Snapdragon</a> Wear 3100 4G chipset featuring four Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.2GHz. The company is calling it the first wearable with Snapdragon 3100 4G, probably because the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/06/04/fossil-sport-smartwatch-launched-india/">Fossil Gen 5 watches</a> with Snapdragon 3100 didn&#8217;t have cellular connectivity.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n6ue2k7aj33k01s0qv5.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-287646" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n6ue2k7aj33k01s0qv5.jpg?x44794" alt="Mi Watch large battery" width="690" height="345" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n6ue2k7aj33k01s0qv5.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n6ue2k7aj33k01s0qv5-300x150.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>One of the highlights of the Mi Smartwatch is its battery. The watch features one of the biggest batteries ever seen on a smartwatch featuring 570mAh in capacity. In comparison, watches like the 46mm <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/11/huawei-watch-gt-2-46mm-version-up-for-sale-starting-today-in-china/">Huawei Watch GT 2</a>, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-watch-active-2-aluminum/">Galaxy Watch Active 2</a> (44mm), or even the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-watch-series-5-aluminum/">Apple Watch 5</a> come with just 455mAh, 340mAh, and 296mAh batteries respectively. The company claims the Mi Watch can last up to 36 hours or up to two days on a single charge.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n6l8936xj33k01s0x6s.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-287645" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n6l8936xj33k01s0x6s.jpg?x44794" alt="Mi Watch eSIM" width="690" height="345" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n6l8936xj33k01s0x6s.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n6l8936xj33k01s0x6s-300x150.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>The Xiaomi smartwatch will be loaded with features such as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nfc">NFC</a>, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi (n), GPS, an independent vibration motor, and a pretty large speaker. Just like the top-end smartwatches of 2019, the Mi Watch also supports <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/esim">eSIM</a>, which ensures you can connect to the internet via cellular network as well as make and receive calls independently.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Mi Watch is Powered By Google&#8217;s WearOS</h3>
<p>In a surprise move, Xiaomi is adopting Google&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wearos">WearOS</a> platform for its new smartwatch. However, like its smartphones, the WearOS running on the Xiaomi watch will be customized with its own MIUI for Watch skin. The company will offer a number of interesting watch faces for the watch. It also, unsurprisingly, comes integrated with Xiaomi&#8217;s own <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaoai">XiaoAI</a> assistant.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n7yy96auj33k01s04qv.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-287641" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n7yy96auj33k01s04qv.jpg?x44794" alt="Mi Watch Exclusive Edition" width="1024" height="512" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n7yy96auj33k01s04qv.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n7yy96auj33k01s04qv-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n7yy96auj33k01s04qv-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n7yy96auj33k01s04qv-696x348.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/006mZuRsly1g8n7yy96auj33k01s04qv-840x420.jpg 840w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>Apart from the usual fitness-centric features found on a wearable, Xiaomi smartwatch supports heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen VO2 max sensor, sleep monitoring, and body energy monitoring. In one of the marketing videos, Xiaomi confirmed that the Mi Watch is safe for swimming as well.</p>

</p>
<p>Powered by the WearOS platform, the Xiaomi Mi watch comes with its own in-built app store that will offer 40+ optimized apps for the new watch. This includes popular Chinese apps like QQ, WeChat, and Keep (fitness). Thanks to NFC, the Mi Watch can also be used to make payments in China.</p>
<p>The Mi Watch is also capable of connecting to and controlling smart home appliances at your home.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Xiaomi Mi Watch Is Priced Aggressively</h3>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi Watch is priced at 1299 yuan ($185 or Rs. 13,116) in China. The watch is up for reservations from 5 PM today (November 5) and will go on sale at 12 AM sharp on November 11th in China.</p>

Ahead of the launch event, the price of the Mi Watch has appeared on the website of Xiaomi&#8217;s official store on Taobao. <p>The price looks expensive but then, considering the topnotch features that are expected on board, it is reasonable. Besides, the design of the Mi Watch is heavily inspired by the immensely popular Apple Watch which costs twice as much.</p>
<p>In terms of the specs, the Mi Watch comes with a premium build and sturdy hardware. It features a curved sapphire glass which protects the square-shaped touchscreen display and sports a side-mounted crown which can be used to navigate through the UI. It is powered by the Snapdragon 3100 chipset and Adreno 304 GPU. The Mi Watch will support NFC, Bluetooth 4.2 and low power 802.11n Wi-Fi and GPS. Now, the company is all set to launch its first smartwatch &#8212; Mi Watch at a launch event on 5th November in China.</p>
<p>Today, just a day ahead of the official launch of the Mi Watch, the company has now shared a few more renders of the device. It shows the product from almost all angles, giving us a better look at its design.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-287416 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-1.jpeg?x44794" alt="" width="640" height="360" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-1.jpeg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-1-300x169.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /> <img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-287417 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-2.jpeg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi Watch" width="640" height="360" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-2.jpeg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-2-300x169.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p>As already known from the earlier released render, the Mi Watch comes with square-shaped dial and a single crown on the right side along with a single button. The design looks quite similar to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> Watch.</p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi Watch will be running a customized version of Google’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-wear">Android Wear</a> operating system out-of-the-box which could be named “Mi Wear” OS. It is confirmed to come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 3100 processor. It will also come with support for eSIM, NFC, GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth.</p>

<p>A couple of days ago, the company confirmed that the upcoming Mi Watch can <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/31/xiaomi-mi-watch-can-store-play-music-independently/">independently play music</a> and the user will have an option to even download the music files to its storage. The Mi Watch will also, unsurprisingly, come with a heart rate sensor and smart home controls.</p>
<p>Apart from the Mi Band fitness tracker, it has a line of smartwatches under <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/amazfit">Amazfit</a> branding but none of them are running <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android">Android</a> Wear OS. Now, ahead of its official launch next week, images of the upcoming smartwatch have leaked online.</p>
<p>Earlier, the company has teased the Xiaomi Smartwatch through a poster shared on social media, which resembles the design of the Apple Watch. Now, the leaked images confirm that the device will indeed look similar to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-watch">Apple Watch</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-286221 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smartwatch-Live.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Smartwatch Live Image" width="750" height="1333" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smartwatch-Live.jpg 750w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smartwatch-Live-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smartwatch-Live-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smartwatch-Live-696x1237.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smartwatch-Live-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p>The leaked image showcases a square-shaped design and the display has a control page for the light and microwave, confirming that the device will be able to control home appliances as well.</p>
<p>It has been revealed that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> Smartwatch which has a square-shared dial, will feature a knob on the top-right corner and will come with two staps &#8212; Black and White. As said above, it looks very similar to the Apple Watch.</p>

<p>The company has confirmed that the Xiaomi Smartwatch will feature a high-performance CPU along with independent GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth modules. There will also be an independent linear motor as well as speakers inside.</p>

Finally, it is revealed that the Mi Smartwatch will come with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/esim">eSIM</a> support, just like the Apple Watch. Today, Xiaomi&#8217;s CEO, Lei Jun has revealed a render of the upcoming Xiaomi Smartwatch and we can&#8217;t deny that it takes HEAVY inspiration from the Apple Watch.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-smartwatch.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-286088" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-smartwatch.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi smartwatch" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-smartwatch.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-smartwatch-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-smartwatch-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-smartwatch-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-smartwatch-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>The Xiaomi smartwatch will come in two band colors, elegant black, and silver. It features a curved rectangular screen very similar to the Apple Watch series. What&#8217;s more, the placement of the crown is also exactly the same as the Apple Watch. Even the power button is placed just as the Apple wearable. There&#8217;s no denying that this Xiaomi smartwatch design lacks originality. We would really be disappointed if Xiaomi is marketing its new watch as an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-watch">Apple Watch</a> clone at a cheaper price tag.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Smartwatch-Xiaomi-hardware.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-286087" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Smartwatch-Xiaomi-hardware.jpg?x44794" alt="Smartwatch Xiaomi hardware" width="1024" height="1365" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Smartwatch-Xiaomi-hardware.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Smartwatch-Xiaomi-hardware-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Smartwatch-Xiaomi-hardware-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Smartwatch-Xiaomi-hardware-696x928.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Smartwatch-Xiaomi-hardware-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>Xiaomi had revealed a couple of days back that its new watch will be a true smartwatch and not just another band. Today, the company revealed more details about its internals and it&#8217;s clear that the smartwatch will be loaded with features. The Xiaomi smartwatch will feature a high-performance CPU along with independent <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/gps">GPS</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nfc">NFC</a>, Wi-Fi / Bluetooth modules. There will be an independent linear motor as well as speakers inside. Further, it is said that the battery will be pretty large as well. Finally, the Mi Smartwatch will come with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/esim">eSIM</a> support, just like the Apple Watch.</p>
<p>So even if the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Smartwatch lacks an original design, it will probably make it up with interesting features. With eSIM support and speakers, the watch should be able to make phone calls and other functions, just like a smartphone.</p>
<p>Well, after seeing Xiaomi&#8217;s new smartwatch, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/11/huami-amazfit-gts-launched-in-india-for-rs-9999-140/">Huami Amazfit GTS doesn&#8217;t look like an Apple Watch clone</a> anymore.</p>
<p>What do you think?</p>

However, the company is moving a step forward and is reportedly all set to launch its first smartwatch in China later this month.</p>
<p>The report coming from China claims that the upcoming smartwatch will be powered by the Xiaomi Wear chipset and will also also come with support for eSIM card, 4G LTE network connectivity, multi-function <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nfc">NFC</a>, and smart voice assistant.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-281711 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smart-Watch-Leak.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Smart Watch Leak" width="728" height="433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smart-Watch-Leak.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smart-Watch-Leak-300x178.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smart-Watch-Leak-696x414.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smart-Watch-Leak-706x420.jpg 706w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></p>
<p>It further adds that the device will be running a customized version of Google&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-wear">Android Wear</a> operating system out-of-the-box which could be named &#8220;Mi Wear&#8221; OS. The report has also revealed an alleged image of the Xiaomi Smartwatch coming this month.</p>
<p>From the design point-of-view, there&#8217;s nothing unique in the smartwatch compared to other devices in the market featuring a circular dial. However, do note that it has not been confirmed if this is indeed the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> Smartwatch.</p>

<p>In early September, the Chinese company had registered a few trademarks, including “Millennium MIX ALPHA”, “Mi MIX Alpha” and “Mi Watch COLOR”. Since the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-mix-alpha/">Mi MIX Alpha</a> smartphone has already been unveiled, the launch of Xiaomi&#8217;s Mi Watch COLOR should not be far away.</p>
<p>As mentioned, Xiaomi currently sells wearable devices under its eco-chain companies which includes <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huami">Huami</a> Technology. Huami recently added the Amazfit Verge to its range of well-received wearables. The new smartwatch from the Xiaomi-backed brand is designed exclusively to meet the varied needs of its wearer.</p>
<p>The Amazfit Verge boasts an array of exceptional features that make it a must-have gadget for fitness geeks. With an IP68-certified build, it sports an easily understandable 1.3-inch circular AMOLED display with 360&#215;360 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for added protection.</p>
<p>Moreover, the Amazfit Verge packs a powerful dual-core 1.2GHz processor, which is paired with 512MB RAM and a hearty 4GB of onboard storage. Much to the delight of Chinese buyers, the smartwatch comes with built-in NFC support so that you even swipe a bus card.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-213217" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Huami-Amazfit-Verge-Smartwatch_2.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="800" height="601" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Huami-Amazfit-Verge-Smartwatch_2.jpg 1031w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Huami-Amazfit-Verge-Smartwatch_2-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Huami-Amazfit-Verge-Smartwatch_2-768x577.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Huami-Amazfit-Verge-Smartwatch_2-1024x769.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Huami-Amazfit-Verge-Smartwatch_2-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><br />
Outfitted with Xiaomi&#8217;s Xiao AI voice assistant, the Amazfit Verge comprises 11 different sports modes. On top of that, the smartwatch can accurately monitor your running and walking as it supports GPS and GLONASS dual positioning features.</p>
<p>Aside from that, the Amazfit Verge can be connected with a compatible Android-based smartphone to activate voice call support. It runs Android-based Amazfit OS and is backed by a 390mAh battery that normally offers a standby for 5 days on a single charge under normal usage.</p>
<p>If the Amazfit Verge has now captured your attention, all you need to do is to follow <a href="https://www.giztop.com/gadgets/huami-amazfit-verge-smartwatch.html">this link</a> to check out more details about the recently launched smartwatch and pre-order on Giztop. The watch is one of the best affordable smartwatches available in the market today, but until recently, only the Chinese version of the smartwatch was sold by third party retailers in most regions. Now, even the English / US version of the Amazfit Watch is being sold on sites like Gearbest which makes it one of the best smartwatches at this price.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/xiaomi-amazfit-watch-deal.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-132191" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/xiaomi-amazfit-watch-deal.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi amazfit watch featured" width="942" height="1024" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/xiaomi-amazfit-watch-deal.jpg 942w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/xiaomi-amazfit-watch-deal-276x300.jpg 276w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/xiaomi-amazfit-watch-deal-768x835.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 942px) 100vw, 942px" /></a></p>
<p>Both Linas and Joe at Gizmochina can be seen using the Amazfit watch on a daily basis and so far the watch has managed to impress us very well. The two major highlights of the Amazfit watch are its reflective always on display which looks amazing under direct sunlight (backlight takes care of things when there&#8217;s not enough light) and the super long 7-day battery life.</p>
<p>There are a lot of special modes on the watch, like indoor running mode, outdoor running mode which makes sure your calories and heart rate data are continuously updated during your workout regime. The fact that the watch has GPS and can even connect to Bluetooth headphones make it one of the best watches at $109.99.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-95738 aligncenter" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/xiaomi-huami-watch-2.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi-huami-watch-2" width="600" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/xiaomi-huami-watch-2.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/xiaomi-huami-watch-2-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>Mr Wang disclosed via a Weibo post that the smartwatch will be a complete sports watch with GPS and heart rate monitor and also a very long lasting battery power. According to Wang, the battery still lasted for very long, even after turning on the GPS and heart rate monitor.</p>
<p>Previously, Wang had leaked information about the smartwatch having a water resistant covering and that the smartwatch band can be easily replaced with any standard 22mm third-party watch straps, because of its quick release design that means no tool will be required to remove the straps.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-95739 size-full aligncenter" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/xiaomi-huami-watch-e1472449256290.png?x44794" alt="xiaomi-huami-watch" width="597" height="228" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/xiaomi-huami-watch-e1472449256290.png 597w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/xiaomi-huami-watch-e1472449256290-300x115.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 597px) 100vw, 597px" /></p>
<p>Also, like we mentioned earlier, the smartwatch will not bear the Xiaomi or Mi trademark in its name but Huami&#8217;s own brand name.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Related: </span><a style="color: #0000ff;" href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/21/first-xiaomi-smartwatch-sketch-leaked-reveals-mi-logo-front/">First Xiaomi Smartwatch Sketch Leaked: Check it out!</a></strong></span></p>
<p>In addition, Huami&#8217;s CEO had previously revealed that the person in charge of manufacturing the watch ROM was a former Google employee and was involved in the development of the Android TV, Android Home, Android Auto and other projects but joined Huami last year.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/xiaomi-smartwatch.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-94589" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/xiaomi-smartwatch.png?x44794" alt="xiaomi smartwatch old yao comment" width="602" height="183" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/xiaomi-smartwatch.png 602w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/xiaomi-smartwatch-300x91.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 602px) 100vw, 602px" /></a></p>
<p>This news comes from the Chinese Mobile Phone League Secretary General on Weibo, who revealed that Xiaomi smartwatch will be released this month itself, but the pricing may not be very cheap. We are used to seeing Xiaomi products priced at super affordable figures and maybe, he meant to warn that the price may not be as cheap as we expect.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-sketch-e1466523022219.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-86587" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-sketch-e1466523022219.jpg?x44794" alt="mi smartwatch sketch" width="599" height="754" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-sketch-e1466523022219.jpg 599w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-sketch-e1466523022219-238x300.jpg 238w" sizes="(max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px" /></a></p>
<p>In case you are wondering, initially, we were expecting <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/07/xiaomi-smartwatch-cheap-price-analyst/">Xiaomi&#8217;s first watch to be priced under 999 Yuan ($150)</a>. However, after this comment, maybe we can higher our expected price tag. Xiaomi is not new to wearables, but this would indeed be its first every smartwatch. Launching a brand new product, especially its first product in the segment is never easy or cheap, so it remains to be cheap whether the upcoming Xiaomi smartwatch is priced aggressively.</p>
<p>Hopefully, we&#8217;ll hear about the new watch from the company in the next few days.</p>

<p>While we are yet to see what the Xiaomi smartwatch looks like, except in sketched images, we have got an idea of what price the gadget will likely carry when ever Xiaomi finally launches the smartwatch. According to the well-known industry analyst Pan Jiutang, the Xiaomi smartwatch will be priced less than 1000 yuan ($150). Mr Juitang disclosed this via a post on Weibo and went further to add that the smartwatch would clutch a price tag much cheaper than Garmin smartwatches.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-92702" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Xiaomi-smartwatch-weibo.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi smartwatch" width="600" height="682" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Xiaomi-smartwatch-weibo.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Xiaomi-smartwatch-weibo-264x300.jpg 264w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>

<p>The Xiaomi smartwatch is likely to feature a larger display than the Band 2, and focus on a particular function. Smartwatch manufacturers are particularly keen on health-related functions, so we may see the smartwatch boast of such features and more. But, apart from the existence of the device as well as the release timing, and likely price tag, nothing else is known about its specifications. As we draw nearer to the expected release date, more hypes are likely to come out about the smart gadget.</p>

The band was yet another successful product from the company, featuring a power efficient OLED display and heart rate sensor for a cheap price tag. However, this year, the new Mi Band isn&#8217;t the only wearable that&#8217;s coming from the company. It&#8217;s almost confirmed that there&#8217;s a Xiaomi smartwatch in the making and the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/06/xiaomi-will-soon-launch-new-smartwatch-reveals-analyst/">product should soon be announced</a>, according to an analyst.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-86586" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/xiaomi-smartwatch-011.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi smartwatch 011" width="479" height="375" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/xiaomi-smartwatch-011.jpg 479w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/xiaomi-smartwatch-011-300x235.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 479px) 100vw, 479px" /></p>
<p>While we still haven&#8217;t seen the new Xiaomi smartwatch in pictures, today a new sketch of the watch was leaked, which gives us a basic idea about the possible design of the new wearable. According to the image, the Xiaomi smartwatch should come with a regular design similar to other round watches in the market. We can see the Mi logo on the front as well as two buttons on the right side. The watch looks quite thick as well.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-86587" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-sketch-e1466523022219.jpg?x44794" alt="mi smartwatch sketch" width="599" height="754" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-sketch-e1466523022219.jpg 599w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-sketch-e1466523022219-238x300.jpg 238w" sizes="(max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px" /></p>
<p>One of the interesting things revealed by this sketch is the bar at the bottom of the display. It could be hinting at a Moto 360 like design, which had a black bar on the display, ruining the true round watch experience. We hope that&#8217;s not going to be the case here.</p>
<p>As for the release, it is said that the new Xiaomi smartwatch should be announced sometime in September this year. So, there&#8217;s still a couple of months for the release, which means more information about the device should be leaked in the coming weeks.</p>

However, the new generation Mi band is not the only wearable that we will be seeing from the company this year. For the first time, Xiaomi is said to be working on a smartwatch and the device was earlier confirmed to be released sometime in the second half of 2016. The confirmation came directly from the CEO of Huami, the company who is responsible for the manufacturing of the Mi Bands.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78318" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Xiaomi-smartwatch-render.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi-smartwatch-render" width="550" height="349" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Xiaomi-smartwatch-render.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Xiaomi-smartwatch-render-300x190.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></p>
<p>Now, the noted analyst, Pan Jiutang from China reveals that the new smartwatch should be released by the company soon. He also says that the power consumption of the new Xiaomi smartwatch should be similar to Garmin&#8217;s wearables. Finally, he asked his followers what would be the ideal price tag for the new sports watch from the company and gave two options, 999 Yuan ($152) and 1599 Yuan ($243). Well, considering that he revealed two specific price figures for the new Xiaomi smartwatch, it is speculated that there could be two variants that would be priced at 999 Yuan and 1599 Yuan respectively.</p>
<p>Also, since Huami CEO and now Pan Jiutang confirmed that the Xiaomi smartwatch exists, we now have to wait for an official announcement. Considering that the company&#8217;s Mi Band 2 costs $22, the Mi smartwatch at 999 Yuan may be a bit costlier than expected.</p>
<p>What do you think? If the Xiaomi smartwatch looks good and has a decent battery life, would you be ready to shell out around $152 for the wearable?</p>

However, we still haven&#8217;t received any official confirmations from the company regarding the existence or the launch of a Mi smartwatch. But that just changed today, as Liu De, the co-founder and Vice President of Xiaomi revealed at a conference in Beijing that the Mi smartwatch does exist and is ready!</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78318" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Xiaomi-smartwatch-render.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi-smartwatch-render" width="550" height="349" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Xiaomi-smartwatch-render.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Xiaomi-smartwatch-render-300x190.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></p>
<p>He further added that the company will announce the wearable in the second half of 2016, which means sometime after May. It looks like the launch of the smartwatch has been slightly delayed as the CEO of Huami, the company which actually manufacturers the Mi Band had revealed the Mi Band as well as the Mi smartwatch will meet us in Q2 2016. After hearing Liu De&#8217;s comment today, it looks like the watch will most likely debut only after a few months.</p>
<p>This is the first time the company has acknowledged the existence of the Mi smartwatch. This comes just after the company released a new smartwatch for kids priced at just 299 Yuan ($46). So, it looks like the company has quite the interest in the wearable industry. Not surprising given that it&#8217;s Mi Band wearable is doing so well.</p>
<p>He also revealed that the company currently is not planning to release automobiles, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/04/20/heres-leecos-lesee-autonomous-electric-car-concept/">unlike rivals such as LeEco</a>. Instead, it is interested in products catering to the needs of short travel, so we can expect products such as electric bikes and <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/04/15/ninebot-acquires-segway-the-two-wheeled-vehicle-maker-with-help-from-xiaomi/">self-balancing walking robots like Ninebot</a>. Finally, he said that the company would focus on establishing offline outlets this year. He also gave a figure, so we can expect around 60 such outlets by the end of the year.</p>
<p>Given that an executive has already confirmed the existence and launch of the Mi smartwatch, we can soon expect more details about the wearable in the coming days. Meanwhile, let&#8217;s wait and see what Xiaomi has in store for us for the next Mi Band version on May 10.</p>
<p>Till that time, you can check out the details revealed by Huami CEO, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/04/05/xiaomi-smartwatch-almost-confirmed-coming-q2-2016/">Wang about the two wearables from here</a>.</p>

Till now, we haven&#8217;t seen a full-fledged smartwatch from the company. Instead, Xiaomi has focused on its Mi Band wearable which is doing quite well, releasing the new <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/11/07/xiaomi-mi-band-1s-official-with-heart-rate-sensor-for-15/">Mi Band 1S</a> model with heart rate sensor on board.</p>
<p>Xiaomi does not personally manufacture these Mi Band wearables, instead, its partner company, Huami takes care of the process. Hence, although, we call it the Xiaomi Mi Band, it&#8217;s actually made by Huami. Now, Huami&#8217;s CEO Wang has revealed a few details about the second generation model of the Xiaomi Mi Band as well as Xiaomi smartwatch. It looks like, once again, Huami is manufacturing these two devices.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_63438" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-63438" style="width: 600px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-63438 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/mi-band-1s-10.jpg?x44794" alt="mi band 1s 10" width="600" height="401" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/mi-band-1s-10.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/mi-band-1s-10-300x201.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/mi-band-1s-10-537x360.jpg 537w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-63438" class="wp-caption-text">mi band 1s</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>First up, CEO Wang confirmed that both, the Mi Band 2 and the Xiaomi smartwatch will debut in the next two months, within Q2 2016. The major selling point of the new Band version will be the small display on board. So, it looks like the Mi Band 2 will be able to show you a lot more information than its previous generation, reducing reliance on the connected smartphone.</p>
<p>As for the price, the new Band will be slightly costlier than the previous generation model. To recap, the Mi Band 1S with heart rate sensor retails for 99 Yuan (~$16) in China. Another important information revealed by him was that the new version will abandon the &#8220;Mi&#8221; branding. It will be called as the Band 2, but we are not sure of the exact name.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_78318" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-78318" style="width: 550px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-78318 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Xiaomi-smartwatch-render.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi-smartwatch-render" width="550" height="349" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Xiaomi-smartwatch-render.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Xiaomi-smartwatch-render-300x190.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-78318" class="wp-caption-text">This is not the Xiaomi Smartwatch</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>Now, coming to the most interesting part of the interview, CEO Wang confirmed that Xiaomi smartwatch with a display exists and will meet us in Q2 2016. The watch will feature a larger screen than the Band 2, and focus on a particular function. Smartwatch manufacturers are particularly keen on health-related functions, so we may see the smartwatch boast of such features. But, apart from the existence of the device as well as the release timing, nothing else is confirmed.</p>
<p>Finally, remember the Amazfit smart wearable that we<a href="http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomibacked_amazefit_smart_wearable_line_by_huami_is_now_official-blog-14047.php" target="_blank"> read about back in September, 2015</a>? He confirms that a new generation version of the wearable is also coming, but only in the second half of the year.</p>
<p>So, now that these two devices have been almost confirmed, we hope to see a lot more information about them in the coming days.</p>
<p>Adding a display on the new Band 2 won&#8217;t be a bad idea, as long as it provides a decent battery life. The definition of decent differs from one person to another, but personally, I feel a week&#8217;s battery life on the new Band with a display would be just great. My Mi Band lasts for around three weeks on a single charge, so I would expect the new version to give me, at least, a week&#8217;s life.</p>
<p>So, what do you think? Happy to hear that the new Band 2 comes with a display?</p>

The latest rumor that is going around this Chinese social networking site is about a Xiaomi smartwatch. Earlier today, leaksfly, who is known to leak news about gadgets revealed a few details about a new Xiaomi smartwatch. Of course, Leaksfly hasn&#8217;t been accurate all the time, so before you get too excited, take the following news with a pinch of salt.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/xiaomi-watch.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54233" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/xiaomi-watch.png?x44794" alt="xiaomi watch" width="600" height="337" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/xiaomi-watch.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/xiaomi-watch-300x169.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>According to Leaksfly, the new Xiaomi smartwatch will come with Qualcomm S410 chip, with 520MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It will have heart rate monitor and other such features traditionally found on a smartwatch. There will be a 1.3-inch screen, but we don&#8217;t know whether it will be round watch.</p>
<p>The leak further adds that the Xiaomi smartwatch should release sometime in November this year for 600 Yuan ($96).</p>
<p>It makes sense for Xiaomi to expand its wearable line up this year. We have <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/06/04/xiaomi-ranks-second-in-wearable-shipments-for-q1-2015/">already seen that Xiaomi was the second largest wearable smartband maker</a> in the world, thanks to its best selling Xiaomi Mi Band. So, a logical upgrade would be to expand this popular lineup with smartwatch this year.</p>
<p>However, we are not quite convinced with the specs posted by Leaksfly. So, like we mentioned above, take this news with a pinch of salt and wait for some concrete information before getting excited.</p>

<p>In the begining of October, Xiaomi is rumored <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2013/10/09/xiaomi-smartwatch-heading-to-market-later-this-year/">to develop a new smartwatch</a>, but now we have heard from Xiaomi co-founder Liwan Jiang, who says that at this point in time, the company is going to focus on its smartphone and TV business. Xiaomi has never actually confirmed that it is working on smartwatch product.</p>
