With a silver case and brown leather strap, this wearable has a timeless look, perfect for those who prefer analogue watches over digital ones. The circular display can mimic the hands of an analogue watch, providing a seamless transition for those who want a traditional look with modern features.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="512" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro-1024x512.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro" class="wp-image-518362" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro-696x348.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro-1068x534.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro-840x420.jpg 840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro.jpg 1500w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The 1.47-inch AMOLED touchscreen has a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels and is protected by sapphire crystal glass to prevent scuffs and scrapes. The ultra-thin bezels give the watch a sleek and elegant appearance, while a rotating digital crown and a shortcut button allow for easy navigation through Xiaomi&#8217;s MIUI Watch OS interface.</p>

<p>While the Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro may not look like a sporty smartwatch, it can track over 100 different sports and activities, making it a great choice for fitness enthusiasts. With 10 running programmes, including interval and endurance training, users can expect all the usual fitness metrics, including step and sleep tracking, GPS mapping, heart rate monitoring, and SpO2 records. The watch case is also 5ATM water-resistant, making it suitable for swimming and other water-based activities.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="533" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro1-1024x533.webp?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro" class="wp-image-518363" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro1-1024x533.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro1-300x156.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro1-768x400.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro1-1536x799.webp 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro1-2048x1066.webp 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro1-696x362.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro1-1068x556.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro1-1920x999.webp 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Xiaomi-Watch-S1-Pro1-807x420.webp 807w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The watch comes in two color options: black stainless steel case with a black fluororubber strap or a silver stainless steel case with a brown leather strap. The TPU strap is adjustable to fit sizes ranging from 140-210mm, while the leather strap can be adjusted from 135-205mm.</p>

<p>Other features of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi</a> Watch S1 Pro include a built-in speaker for making voice calls, NFC for contactless payments, and a seamless pairing function for anyone with a Xiaomi smartphone. The watch has a battery life of up to 14 days, depending on usage, and can be charged wirelessly in less than 85 minutes. A 10-minute top-up on the bundled charging cradle should provide an additional two days of use.</p>

<p>The Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro is <a href="https://www.mi.com/uk/product/xiaomi-watch-s1-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">available</a> now through the official Xiaomi UK website and retails for £299. Overall, the Watch S1 Pro is a great option for those who want a classic-looking smartwatch with modern features and functionality.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As of now, only a few of its specs are out. For starters, it will carry support for 5W charging.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Further, the wearable will come with audio playback functionality via built-in storage. The newer </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Xiaomi/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Xiaomi</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> watches already offer this feature. Hence, it’s not something new.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Unfortunately, as per </span><a href="https://weibo.com/6048569942/LyJNk7Jjw"><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Digital Chat Station</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, it will lack support for eSIM. The tipster also says that the product will be a fitness tracker.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In other words, the upcoming Xiaomi watch with model number M2134W1 will be merely a fitness tracker disguised as a smartwatch. Hence, it will be most likely similar to the</span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-watch-s1/"><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Xiaomi Watch S1</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-watch-color-2/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Xiaomi Watch Color 2</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The exact marketing name of this wearable is a mystery. Anyway, we think that it may go official as Xiaomi Watch Color 3. Because the Xiaomi Watch Color 2 is due for a successor as it is almost a year old now.</span></p>

The company has also announced new features that have been introduced with this update.</p>
<p>Xiaomi says that it has added algorithmic body energy function and pressure detection feature which is powered by Firstbeat. Along with that, it has also added breathing training function to get relaxed, new dial designs, and fully-featured <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaoai">XiaoAI</a> with functions like one-step voice taxi, among others.</p>
<p>The company had recently revealed that the new OTA rollout for the smartwatch will begin on 17th January and every user will get it by 22nd January.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-286088 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-smartwatch.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi smartwatch" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-smartwatch.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-smartwatch-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-smartwatch-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-smartwatch-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-smartwatch-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi Watch comes with a square touchscreen display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It features a 1.78-inch <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/amoled">AMOLED</a> curved display with 326 PPI pixel density and the back of the watch is made out of ceramic.</p>
<p>It has a crown on the right that can be used to navigate through the watch UI. Apart from the crown, there’s a multi-purpose button as well as a microphone on the right side. On the left side, you have another microphone hole along with a speaker vent.</p>
<p>The device comes powered by the Qualcomm <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon">Snapdragon</a> Wear 3100 4G chipset featuring four Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.2GHz. The watch features one of the biggest batteries ever seen on a smartwatch featuring 570mAh in capacity which the company claims can last up to 36 hours or up to two days on a single charge.</p>

<p>Xiaomi has adopted Google’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wearos">WearOS</a> platform for its new smartwatch. Inexpensive price tag and reliable fitness tracking features have helped the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi-mi-band">Mi Band</a> series to gain immense popularity across the world. However, not everyone prefers a tiny pill-shaped display on their wrist. And for those who are looking for a bigger display at a cheap price tag, the Haylou smartwatch comes to the rescue.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-3.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-298034" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-3.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Haylou Watch (3) featured" width="1919" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-3.jpg 1919w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-3-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-3-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-3-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-3-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-3-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-3-746x420.jpg 746w" sizes="(max-width: 1919px) 100vw, 1919px" /></a></p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/haylou-smartwatch">Haylou watch</a> is essentially a smart band in the form factor of a smartwatch. It&#8217;s a stripped-down watch that comes with basic fitness-centric features usually found on a smart band. The watch is extremely cheap, even cheaper than the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/02/full-review-xiaomi-mi-band-4-the-superstar-in-wearables-market/">Mi Band 4</a>! So we were looking to get our hands on the Haylou watch, from the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/12/23/xiaomi-youpin-crowdfunds-the-new-haylou-smart-watch/">moment it was launched</a>.</p>
<p>Inside the box, you get the watch, a TPU strap, an instruction manual, and a charging cable.</p>
<h3>Haylou Smartwatch Hands-On: Design</h3>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-14.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-298045" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-14.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Haylou Watch (14)" width="1919" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-14.jpg 1919w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-14-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-14-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-14-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-14-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-14-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-14-746x420.jpg 746w" sizes="(max-width: 1919px) 100vw, 1919px" /></a>Everything about the Xiaomi Haylou Watch is designed to look like a smartwatch. You get a 1.3-inch large display with a decent 240 x 240 resolution, an ABS + Plastic body that looks pretty good for its price, and TPU strap which is soft and flexible. The watch&#8217;s body has a metallic finish, so you might mistake it for a metal body at first glance. There&#8217;s a physical home button on the right side of the device while the charging pins are located at the bottom.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-11.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-298042" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-11.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Haylou Watch (11)" width="1919" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-11.jpg 1919w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-11-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-11-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-11-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-11-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-11-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-11-746x420.jpg 746w" sizes="(max-width: 1919px) 100vw, 1919px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>One of the fanciest features of the Haylou watch is its magnetic charger. If you look closely at the bottom of the watch, you&#8217;ll see four pins. The two circles on the sides are magnets while the two inner pins are used for charging. Given how I have to manually attach the charging cradles for both my <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/02/17/huami-amazfit-verge-review-a-seriously-good-non-intrusive-fitness-smartwatch/">Amazfit Verge</a> and Pace watches, this was definitely a surprising addition. It&#8217;s not as fancy as the magnetic charger on the Mi Watch, but for an inexpensive watch, it&#8217;s pretty cool.</p>

<h3>Xiaomi Haylou Smartwatch Hands-on: Specs</h3>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-12.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-298043" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-12.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Haylou Watch (12)" width="1919" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-12.jpg 1919w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-12-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-12-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-12-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-12-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-12-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-12-746x420.jpg 746w" sizes="(max-width: 1919px) 100vw, 1919px" /></a></p>
<p>The Haylou watch comes with a 240 x 240 1.3-inch LCD display on top. The display doesn&#8217;t cover the full front of the watch and that makes it look cheap. Since this is an LCD display, you won&#8217;t get your traditional <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OLED">OLED </a>features like Always-on display (AOD). So you have to either press the home button to light up the watch or raise your wrist (you have to enable this setting) to turn on the screen.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-298033" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Haylou Watch (2)" width="1919" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-2.jpg 1919w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-2-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-2-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-2-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-2-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-2-746x420.jpg 746w" sizes="(max-width: 1919px) 100vw, 1919px" /></a></p>
<p>Not having an always-on display does have its benefits, like extending its battery life. Xiaomi claims that the 240mAh capacity battery inside can power the Haylou watch for up to 14 days on a single charge. The real-life battery life should be shorter than this figure but even then, it would be much better than a traditional smartwatch.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Xiaomi Haylou Smartwatch Hands-on: Features</h3>
<p>The Haylou watch supports 9 sports modes that include walking, running, hiking, cycling, treadmill, fitness mode, mountain climbing, spinning, and yoga. You get 24-hour HR monitor as well as sleep monitoring for better sleep management. While it won&#8217;t run any apps, the Haylou watch supports features like Alarm clock, smart notification for calls and other information, and other smart band-like features including sedentary reminders. You can connect to your smartphone via the Haylou App using Bluetooth 4.2 LE.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-5.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-298036" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-5.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Haylou Watch (5)" width="1919" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-5.jpg 1919w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-5-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-5-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-5-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-5-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-5-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-5-746x420.jpg 746w" sizes="(max-width: 1919px) 100vw, 1919px" /></a></p>
<p>The Haylou watch is available in China for just 99.90 yuan ($14) which is an extremely cheap price for the features you get. In fact, it is cheaper than the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/06/13/xiaomi-mi-band-4-review-smart-bracelet-with-ai-assistant/">Mi Band 4 which was launched at 169 yuan in China</a> a few months back!</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-7.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-298038" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-7.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Haylou Watch (7)" width="1919" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-7.jpg 1919w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-7-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-7-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-7-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-7-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-7-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-7-746x420.jpg 746w" sizes="(max-width: 1919px) 100vw, 1919px" /></a></p>
<p>Why the price difference? Well, the Haylou watch doesn&#8217;t have an OLED display or <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nfc">NFC</a> &#8211; both present on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> Mi Band 4. It can&#8217;t run apps like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/30/xiaomi-confirms-its-mi-smartwatch-can-run-apps-like-wechat-alipay/">the Mi Watc</a>h or even use GPS for activities like running. In short, the watch strips down on some premium features to provide a no-nonsense smartband experience on a larger form factor. And this might just be perfect for people who are looking for an inexpensive smartwatch in the market. After all, what more can you expect at $14!</p>
<p>Note that the watch is only available in Chinese. It doesn&#8217;t have an English version yet. Also, the crowdfunding price of the watch was $14. You can currently get it for around $25 <a href="https://www.giztop.com/xiaomi-haylou-smart-watch.html/">via retailers like Giztop</a>.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-16.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-298047" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-16.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Haylou Watch (16)" width="1919" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-16.jpg 1919w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-16-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-16-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-16-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-16-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-16-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Xiaomi-Haylou-Watch-16-746x420.jpg 746w" sizes="(max-width: 1919px) 100vw, 1919px" /></a></p>

Now, it looks like at least one of the carriers, namely China Telecom, has started testing <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/esim">eSIM</a> services in the country, activating calling and data services for the new Xiaomi smartwatch.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-289205" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Mi Watch featured 00" width="1497" height="1000" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2.jpg 1497w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2-768x513.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2-1068x713.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2-629x420.jpg 629w" sizes="(max-width: 1497px) 100vw, 1497px" /></a></p>
<p>China Telecom is reportedly testing its eSIM service in 7 pilot cities in China. They are as follows:</p>
<ul>
<li>Shanghai</li>
<li>Guangzhou</li>
<li>Nanjing</li>
<li>Chengdu</li>
<li>Shenzhen</li>
<li>Wuhan</li>
<li>Hangzhou</li>
</ul>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>There are two types of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/10/11/gizmochina-explains-esim-work/">eSIM</a> services available on China Telecom right now: Dual terminal eSIM and independent eSIM. In dual terminal eSIM service, you can share your existing mobile number with the eSIM, essentially sharing a single number on two devices. So when you get a call on your smartphone, your <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/05/xiaomi-mi-watch-launched-wearos-miui-large-battery/">Xiaomi Mi Watch</a> with the eSIM will also receive the call. You can accept the call either on your watch or on your phone. In the case of the independent eSIM service, you have a separate phone number for your eSIM. So your contacts can directly call on your Mi Watch using this independent number. The pricing naturally differs according to the eSIM service you select.</p>
<p>If you recall, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola">Motorola</a> had delayed its plans to release the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/15/motorola-razr-not-launching-china/">Motorola Razr clamshell foldable in China</a> because the carriers didn&#8217;t yet support eSIM service. However, with China Telecom piloting its service in the major cities in China, we may see the wide-scale launch of the eSIM service in the coming weeks. This should further pave the way for the Razr launch in China.</p>

Today, Xiaomi&#8217;s ecological chain (MIJIA) product director Cheng Liang answered the two major questions about the Mi Watch.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-289205" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Mi Watch featured 00" width="1497" height="1000" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2.jpg 1497w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2-768x513.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2-1068x713.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00007-2-629x420.jpg 629w" sizes="(max-width: 1497px) 100vw, 1497px" /></a></p>
<p>One of the big issues regarding the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mi-watch">Mi Watch</a> was the slow charging speeds. Users were worried whether this was a permanent problem. However, Cheng Liang said that the charging issue on the Mi Watch will be fixed via an OTA update around early December. So, it looks like an issue in the software rather than the hardware.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, we can&#8217;t confirm whether this fix will be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/15/mi-watch-ota-update-ios-app-3-december/">bundled with the December 3 OTA update</a>. The first OTA update for Mi Watch will reportedly optimize several features, including first pairing, application market, dial market, notification prompts, input method interaction, and weather positioning.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-QA.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-290904" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-QA.jpg?x10805" alt="Mi Watch Q&amp;A" width="475" height="668" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-QA.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-QA-213x300.jpg 213w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Mi-Watch-QA-298x420.jpg 298w" sizes="(max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px" /></a></p>
<p>Another big question was about Mi Watch&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/esim">eSIM</a>. If you recall, we had reported that carriers like China Telecom haven&#8217;t yet configured eSIM networks in China. So you couldn&#8217;t use eSIM services in the country, which was one big reason why the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/15/motorola-razr-not-launching-china/">Motorola Razr 2019 foldable didn&#8217;t launch in the Chinese market</a>. However, Liang said that eSIM services are expected to be opened by Chinese carriers around mid-December. Once it&#8217;s available, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> will enable eSIM support for the Mi Watch via an OTA update. So users won&#8217;t have to do anything from their end to activate the services.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00003-2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-289201" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00003-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Mi Watch featured 03" width="1497" height="1000" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00003-2.jpg 1497w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00003-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00003-2-768x513.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00003-2-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00003-2-696x465.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00003-2-1068x713.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Imagemonitor00003-2-629x420.jpg 629w" sizes="(max-width: 1497px) 100vw, 1497px" /></a></p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi Watch runs on Google&#8217;s WearOS platform with its own MIUI skin on top. It&#8217;s almost a mini smartphone coming with the ability to make and receive calls (via eSIM), connect to the internet, and even run apps like WeChat and DiDi.</p>
<p>Despite its stark resemblance to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-watch">Apple Watch</a>, the Mi Watch tries to carve out its own identity via its software and features. You can read more about the watch from our <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/13/pictures-xiaomi-mi-watch-hands-on-cheaper-edition-of-apple-watch/">Mi watch hands-on article</a>.</p>

<p>With these many devices sold in China, users also started giving feedbacks and making comments related to the smartwatch. Qu Heng, General Manager of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> Ecological Chain confirmed that the company has received feedback from the users and added that the company is thankful as it will help them improve the user experience.</p>

<p>Now, it is being believed that Xiaomi is all set to release the first over-the-air (OTA) update for the Mi Watch in China on 3rd December. With this new update, the company will be optimizing several features, including first pairing, application market, dial market, notification prompts, input method interaction, and weather positioning.</p>
<p>Along with the new update for the Mi Watch users, the company will also be launching the Xiaomi Wearable App on 3rd December, further enhancing the user experience for the iOS users. Qu Heng has also added that the company will classify, schedule, and continuously improve the product experience through OTA updates.</p>

<p>The wearable devices comes loaded with features such as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nfc">NFC</a>, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi (n), GPS, an independent vibration motor, and a pretty large speaker. It also supports <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/esim">eSIM</a>, which ensures you can connect to the internet via cellular network as well as make and receive calls independently.</p>
<p>As we mentioned earlier, Xiaomi has adopted Google’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wearos">WearOS</a> platform for its new smartwatch. However, like its smartphones, the WearOS running on the Xiaomi watch will be customized with its own MIUI for Watch skin. It comes integrated with the company&#8217;s own <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaoai">XiaoAI</a> smart assistant.</p>
<p>Xiaomi smartwatch supports heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen VO2 max sensor, sleep monitoring, and body energy monitoring. It is priced at 1299 yuan (approx. $185) in China and is now available for purchase in China.</p>

<p>MIUI for Watch is said to be an open ecosystem that incorporates <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI">MIUI</a> into wearables. The operating system will have a dedicated app store with several of the apps you use every day including maps, AliPay, QQ, and even TikTok. There will also be music streaming apps and several watch faces available.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-286470" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/MIUI-for-Watch-b.jpg?x10805" alt="MIUI for Watch store" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/MIUI-for-Watch-b.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/MIUI-for-Watch-b-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/MIUI-for-Watch-b-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Xiaomi has released two videos showing the OS in action. One of the videos even shows a video streaming app in use. We wonder why anyone will want to watch a video on a display that small.</p>
<p><div style="width: 640px;" class="wp-video"><!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('video');</script><![endif]-->

<p>MIUI for Watch will be officially unveiled on November 5 alongside the Xiaomi Watch and the Mi CC9 Pro. We should know more about the operating system on that day and what advantages it has over WearOS.</p>
<p><div style="width: 696px;" class="wp-video"><video class="wp-video-shortcode" id="video-286463-2" width="696" height="392" preload="metadata" controls="controls"><source type="video/mp4" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/MIUI-for-Watch-2.mp4?_=2" /><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/MIUI-for-Watch-2.mp4">https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/MIUI-for-Watch-2.mp4</a></video></div></p>
<p>The Xiaomi Watch will be powered by the Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor. It is a 28nm quad-core processor with four Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.2GHz. We believe Xiaomi must have greatly optimized MIUI for Watch to run on the chipset.</p>

<p>Ahead of the official announcement, the company <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/29/this-is-the-xiaomi-smartwatch-its-heavily-inspired-by-the-apple-watch/">shared an image of the upcoming smartwatch</a>, giving us a clear look at its design, which seems very similar to the Apple Watch. Soon after that, live image of the device was leaked online.</p>

<p>Now, a hands-on video of the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> Smartwatch has surfaced online, showing the device as well as its user interface. In the video, we can see the user scrolling through the apps in the &#8216;App Drawer&#8217; and tapping on an app to watch a video.</p>
<p>Earlier, it was reported that the upcoming smartwatch will be powered by the Xiaomi Wear chipset and will also also come with support for eSIM card, 4G LTE network connectivity, multi-function <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nfc">NFC</a>, and smart voice assistant.</p>
<p>The Xiaomi Smartwatch will be running a customized version of Google’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-wear">Android Wear</a> operating system out-of-the-box which could be named “Mi Wear” OS. It has been revealed that the Xiaomi Smartwatch which has a square-shared dial, will feature a knob on the top-right corner and will come with two staps — Black and White. As said above, it looks very similar to the Apple Watch.</p>

<p>The company has confirmed that the Xiaomi Smartwatch will feature a high-performance CPU along with independent GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth modules. There will also be an independent linear motor as well as speakers inside.</p>
<p>Further, the company has said that the battery in the device will be pretty large as well. With eSIM support and speakers, the watch should be able to make phone calls and other functions, just like a smartphone.</p>
<p>Xiaomi has confirmed that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mi-smartwatch">Mi smartwatch</a> will be able to install third-party apps for additional functions. It will be able to download and install apps like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wechat">WeChat</a>, QQ, Alipay, Keep (fitness app), and even DiDi (uber-like app). <p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/mi-smartwatch-apps-lite.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-286437" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/mi-smartwatch-apps-lite.jpg?x10805" alt="mi smartwatch apps lite" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/mi-smartwatch-apps-lite.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/mi-smartwatch-apps-lite-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/mi-smartwatch-apps-lite-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>Xiaomi confirms that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mi-smartwatch">Mi smartwatch</a> will be able to install third-party apps for additional functions. From the image, we can confirm that the smartwatch will be able to download and install apps like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wechat">WeChat</a>, QQ, Alipay, Keep (fitness app), and even DiDi (uber-like app). You can also control smart home devices, and check your fitness data right from the Mi smartwatch.</p>
<p>However, if you notice, the apps are of small size, all under 5MB. This is a very good indication that these are &#8216;Lite&#8217; versions of the regular apps specially optimized for the smartwatch. The company further adds that it runs on an open OS just like a smartphone. Unfortunately, we still don&#8217;t know whether it&#8217;ll run on Google&#8217;s WearOS.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_286275" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-286275" style="width: 690px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Watch-render.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-286275" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Watch-render.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Watch render" width="690" height="388" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Watch-render.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Watch-render-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-286275" class="wp-caption-text">Official renders of the Xiaomi Watch</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>Xiaomi has confirmed that the Mi smartwatch will be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/29/xiaomis-upcoming-smartwatch-to-feature-snapdragon-3100-chipset-confirms-teaser/">Snapdragon wear 3100 processor</a>, made specifically for wearables. It will have <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/gps">GPS</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nfc">NFC</a>, Wi-Fi / Bluetooth modules, an independent linear motor as well as speakers inside. The watch also adds <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/esim">eSIM</a> support.</p>

A new official render has now surfaced and it was posted on Weibo by the official <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/mijia">Mijia</a> account.</p>
<p>The render shows us the Xiaomi Watch in the two colors it will be available in &#8211; Elegant Black and Plated Silver. We also get a clear look at the crown, the side/power button, the microphones (primary and noise-canceling), and the slit for the speaker. We are not sure but we have a feeling the watch&#8217;s case is made of aluminum to keep the price down. However, we won&#8217;t be surprised if there is a ceramic version as Xiaomi isn&#8217;t new to using ceramic.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-286275" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Watch-render.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Watch render" width="690" height="388" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Watch-render.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Watch-render-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Unlike the render leaked by Lei Jun which showed just the lockscreen, this new render shows two new watch faces. The watch face on the silver version shows the watch will be able to track cycling and also measure your heart rate while the watch face on the black version show the calories burnt.</p>
<p>There is a lot we already know about the Xiaomi Watch such as it being powered by a Snapdragon 3100 processor, having an eSIM, NFC, GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth. However, there are other details we do not know if the rumors about it running a custom version of WearOS is true. It will also be nice to know how much it will cost and if it will be available outside China.</p>

Now, ahead of its official launch next week, images of the upcoming smartwatch have leaked online.</p>
<p>Earlier, the company has teased the Xiaomi Smartwatch through a poster shared on social media, which resembles the design of the Apple Watch. Now, the leaked images confirm that the device will indeed look similar to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-watch">Apple Watch</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-286221 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smartwatch-Live.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Smartwatch Live Image" width="750" height="1333" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smartwatch-Live.jpg 750w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smartwatch-Live-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smartwatch-Live-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smartwatch-Live-696x1237.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Xiaomi-Smartwatch-Live-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p>The leaked image showcases a square-shaped design and the display has a control page for the light and microwave, confirming that the device will be able to control home appliances as well.</p>
<p>It has been revealed that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> Smartwatch which has a square-shared dial, will feature a knob on the top-right corner and will come with two staps &#8212; Black and White.

<p>Further, it is said that the battery in the device will be pretty large as well. Finally, it is revealed that the Mi Smartwatch will come with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/esim">eSIM</a> support, just like the Apple Watch. With eSIM support and speakers, the watch should be able to make phone calls and other functions, just like a smartphone.</p>

<p>Along with the Xiaomi Watches, the company is also set to launch a few other products at the 5th November launch event, including <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/27/xiaomi-teases-mi-cc9-pro-launches-tomorrow/">Mi CC9 Pro</a> with 108MP primary camera and new Xiaomi Mi TV 5 series.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>EDITOR&#8217;S PICK: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/28/xiaomi-mi-cc9-pro-with-108mp-five-rear-camera-and-5x-optical-zoom-to-launch-on-november-5/">Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro with 108MP five rear camera and 5x optical zoom to launch on November 5</a></strong></h6>
<p>The device is expected to run a customized version of Google’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-wear">Android Wear</a> operating system out-of-the-box which could be named “Mi Wear” OS. The design of the device has also been leaked online, which shows a circular dial, however, the teaser shows a rectangular dial, similar to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> Watch.</p>
<p>In early September, the Chinese company had registered a few trademarks, including “Millennium MIX ALPHA”, “Mi MIX Alpha” and “Mi Watch COLOR”. Xiaomi currently sells wearable devices under its eco-chain companies which includes <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huami">Huami</a> Technology.</p>
<p>Apart from the Mi Band fitness tracker, it has a line of smartwatches under <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/amazfit">Amazfit</a> branding but none of them are running <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android">Android</a> Wear OS. The upcoming smartwatch will be the first to come with company’s own branding.</p>

That is why we always expect very innovative technological products by this Chinese giant and this week wasn&#8217;t any different as the company has just announced a new watch, but it is not an innovative smartwatch with tons of features like the wonderful Amazfit series, neither an advanced fitness tracker like the Xiaomi Mi Band 3.</p>
<p>This time, Xiaomi has announced a simple I8 quartz watch which is focused on style and elegance, and it does not boast any smart features. Xiaomi&#8217;s I8 quartz watch has a minimalist design and a 6.2-mm thin body with a circular case. The straps are made of steel and, to be accurate, they have been forged from high-tech Vintage Milanese steel. This will make the Xiaomi I8 quartz watch tearproof. The watch also boasts a sapphire glass mirror which is scratch-resistant and scratch-proof.</p>

The release date is said to be around September this year, which is just a couple of months away. Earlier, we heard from a <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/04/28/xiaomi-official-confirms-mi-smartwatch-launch-second-half-2016/">Xiaomi&#8217;s executive about the upcoming smartwatch</a> but now, it looks like the company is preparing its website for the release of the Mi smartwatch as the official website seems to have already listed smartwatch category in the smart devices section. While this doesn&#8217;t reveal anything about the upcoming watch, it kind of confirms again that there&#8217;s a smartwatch in the making.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-86864" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-on-official-website.jpg?x10805" alt="mi smartwatch on official website" width="600" height="470" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-on-official-website.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-on-official-website-300x235.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>We had previously heard from the CEO of Huami, which is the company that manufactures the Mi Band wearable that <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/04/05/xiaomi-smartwatch-almost-confirmed-coming-q2-2016/">Xiaomi Mi smartwatch will meet us in the second half of the year</a>. Given that Huami is directly involved with the production of the wearable, it was a kind of our first confirmation.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-86587" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-sketch-e1466523022219.jpg?x10805" alt="mi smartwatch sketch" width="599" height="754" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-sketch-e1466523022219.jpg 599w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-sketch-e1466523022219-238x300.jpg 238w" sizes="(max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px" /></p>
<p>Thanks to a recent leak, we already have the basic render of the device. The Mi smartwatch is said to come with a standard round watch design with the Mi logo on top. We can also see two physical buttons on the right side. Also, the smartwatch looks quite thick as well. But what really took our attention was the black bar at the bottom of the display. It seems like Xiaomi&#8217;s new smartwatch could have an ugly black bar on the display, just like the first generation Moto 360, which would be really disappointing. But this is just a render, so we will have to wait for some pictures of the new Mi watch in action to really confirm this design.READ MORE:</p>

<p>The release is said to be in September, so expect more details soon.</p>

The band was yet another successful product from the company, featuring a power efficient OLED display and heart rate sensor for a cheap price tag. However, this year, the new Mi Band isn&#8217;t the only wearable that&#8217;s coming from the company. It&#8217;s almost confirmed that there&#8217;s a Xiaomi smartwatch in the making and the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/06/xiaomi-will-soon-launch-new-smartwatch-reveals-analyst/">product should soon be announced</a>, according to an analyst.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-86586" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/xiaomi-smartwatch-011.jpg?x10805" alt="xiaomi smartwatch 011" width="479" height="375" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/xiaomi-smartwatch-011.jpg 479w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/xiaomi-smartwatch-011-300x235.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 479px) 100vw, 479px" /></p>
<p>While we still haven&#8217;t seen the new Xiaomi smartwatch in pictures, today a new sketch of the watch was leaked, which gives us a basic idea about the possible design of the new wearable. According to the image, the Xiaomi smartwatch should come with a regular design similar to other round watches in the market. We can see the Mi logo on the front as well as two buttons on the right side. The watch looks quite thick as well.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-86587" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-sketch-e1466523022219.jpg?x10805" alt="mi smartwatch sketch" width="599" height="754" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-sketch-e1466523022219.jpg 599w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/mi-smartwatch-sketch-e1466523022219-238x300.jpg 238w" sizes="(max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px" /></p>
<p>One of the interesting things revealed by this sketch is the bar at the bottom of the display. It could be hinting at a Moto 360 like design, which had a black bar on the display, ruining the true round watch experience. We hope that&#8217;s not going to be the case here.</p>
<p>As for the release, it is said that the new Xiaomi smartwatch should be announced sometime in September this year. So, there&#8217;s still a couple of months for the release, which means more information about the device should be leaked in the coming weeks.</p>

Till now, we haven&#8217;t seen a full-fledged smartwatch from the company. Instead, Xiaomi has focused on its Mi Band wearable which is doing quite well, releasing the new <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/11/07/xiaomi-mi-band-1s-official-with-heart-rate-sensor-for-15/">Mi Band 1S</a> model with heart rate sensor on board.</p>
<p>Xiaomi does not personally manufacture these Mi Band wearables, instead, its partner company, Huami takes care of the process. Hence, although, we call it the Xiaomi Mi Band, it&#8217;s actually made by Huami. Now, Huami&#8217;s CEO Wang has revealed a few details about the second generation model of the Xiaomi Mi Band as well as Xiaomi smartwatch. It looks like, once again, Huami is manufacturing these two devices.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_63438" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-63438" style="width: 600px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-63438 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/mi-band-1s-10.jpg?x10805" alt="mi band 1s 10" width="600" height="401" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/mi-band-1s-10.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/mi-band-1s-10-300x201.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/mi-band-1s-10-537x360.jpg 537w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-63438" class="wp-caption-text">mi band 1s</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>First up, CEO Wang confirmed that both, the Mi Band 2 and the Xiaomi smartwatch will debut in the next two months, within Q2 2016. The major selling point of the new Band version will be the small display on board. So, it looks like the Mi Band 2 will be able to show you a lot more information than its previous generation, reducing reliance on the connected smartphone.</p>
<p>As for the price, the new Band will be slightly costlier than the previous generation model. To recap, the Mi Band 1S with heart rate sensor retails for 99 Yuan (~$16) in China. Another important information revealed by him was that the new version will abandon the &#8220;Mi&#8221; branding. It will be called as the Band 2, but we are not sure of the exact name.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_78318" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-78318" style="width: 550px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-78318 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Xiaomi-smartwatch-render.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi-smartwatch-render" width="550" height="349" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Xiaomi-smartwatch-render.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Xiaomi-smartwatch-render-300x190.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-78318" class="wp-caption-text">This is not the Xiaomi Smartwatch</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>Now, coming to the most interesting part of the interview, CEO Wang confirmed that Xiaomi smartwatch with a display exists and will meet us in Q2 2016. The watch will feature a larger screen than the Band 2, and focus on a particular function. Smartwatch manufacturers are particularly keen on health-related functions, so we may see the smartwatch boast of such features. But, apart from the existence of the device as well as the release timing, nothing else is confirmed.</p>
<p>Finally, remember the Amazfit smart wearable that we<a href="http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomibacked_amazefit_smart_wearable_line_by_huami_is_now_official-blog-14047.php" target="_blank"> read about back in September, 2015</a>? He confirms that a new generation version of the wearable is also coming, but only in the second half of the year.</p>
<p>So, now that these two devices have been almost confirmed, we hope to see a lot more information about them in the coming days.</p>
<p>Adding a display on the new Band 2 won&#8217;t be a bad idea, as long as it provides a decent battery life. The definition of decent differs from one person to another, but personally, I feel a week&#8217;s battery life on the new Band with a display would be just great. My Mi Band lasts for around three weeks on a single charge, so I would expect the new version to give me, at least, a week&#8217;s life.</p>
<p>So, what do you think? Happy to hear that the new Band 2 comes with a display?</p>

The latest rumor that is going around this Chinese social networking site is about a Xiaomi smartwatch. Earlier today, leaksfly, who is known to leak news about gadgets revealed a few details about a new Xiaomi smartwatch. Of course, Leaksfly hasn&#8217;t been accurate all the time, so before you get too excited, take the following news with a pinch of salt.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/xiaomi-watch.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54233" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/xiaomi-watch.png?x10805" alt="xiaomi watch" width="600" height="337" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/xiaomi-watch.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/xiaomi-watch-300x169.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>According to Leaksfly, the new Xiaomi smartwatch will come with Qualcomm S410 chip, with 520MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It will have heart rate monitor and other such features traditionally found on a smartwatch. There will be a 1.3-inch screen, but we don&#8217;t know whether it will be round watch.</p>
<p>The leak further adds that the Xiaomi smartwatch should release sometime in November this year for 600 Yuan ($96).</p>
<p>It makes sense for Xiaomi to expand its wearable line up this year. We have <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/06/04/xiaomi-ranks-second-in-wearable-shipments-for-q1-2015/">already seen that Xiaomi was the second largest wearable smartband maker</a> in the world, thanks to its best selling Xiaomi Mi Band. So, a logical upgrade would be to expand this popular lineup with smartwatch this year.</p>
<p>However, we are not quite convinced with the specs posted by Leaksfly. So, like we mentioned above, take this news with a pinch of salt and wait for some concrete information before getting excited.</p>

From the Moto 360 to Samsung Galaxy Gear, manufacturers have been trying to achieve the perfect smart wrist companion for a couple of years. However, following the announcement of the Apple Watch, more companies are getting on the smart watch band wagon as the wearable market promises to grow in the upcoming months.</p>
<p>Huawei has already released a smart watch, called TalkBand B1 and Meizu also plans to release a smart wrist band. However, the biggest Apple Watch competitor to seems to be Xiaomi.</p>
<p>Partnering with Huami, the company is aimed at conquering the wearable ID market. Following the success of the Mi Band, Xiaomi has recently announced a second iteration of the smart band as well as the Xiaomi Smart Watch, which seems to be a direct response to Apple&#8217;s wrist wearable device.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43631" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Smart Watch Apple Competitor Specs Wrist Band" width="829" height="450" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs.jpg 829w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs-300x163.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs-774x420.jpg 774w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs-640x347.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs-681x370.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 829px) 100vw, 829px" /></a></p>
<p><strong>The Xiaomi Band 2 won&#8217;t be that different from its predecessor. With a sporty look and a light design, the band will feature a new NFC sensor in addition to the existing Bluetooth module and accelerator.</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;My mission is to make the Xiaomi band (Mi Band) look better,&#8221; Huang Wang, CEO of Huami stated in a recent interview with <a href="http://www.36kr.com/p/220494.html">36 Krypton</a>. &#8220;In addition to variety of designs, at the core of the Xiaomi band will be its customization.&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/smart-watch-xiaomi-hunami-new-pic-2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43635" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/smart-watch-xiaomi-hunami-new-pic-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Smart Watch Apple Competitor Specs" width="624" height="351" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/smart-watch-xiaomi-hunami-new-pic-2.jpg 624w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/smart-watch-xiaomi-hunami-new-pic-2-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px" /></a></p>
<p>Even more interesting is the direct Apple Watch competitor &#8211; the Xiaomi Smart Watch. Improving on the wrist band, the watch will feature a large dial, making pulse wave velocity identification possible. Currently, the technology has two major problems &#8211; light pollution and high energy consumption.</p>
<p>&#8220;Apple did made a lot of progress in health tracking with the Apple Watch, but they also had to give up a lot of health-related functions,&#8221; researchers told <a href="http://www.36kr.com/p/220494.html" target="_blank">36 Krypton</a>. Doing accurate measurements and identifying biological signs with such a small device seems to be a problem and researchers state that &#8220;in order to improve the accuracy of pulse reading and other health-related measurements, the wrist wear should be solid and well-positioned, which is hardly achieved with a smart watch.&#8221;</p>
<p>However, Huang Wang is certain that the engineers of Huami have managed to deal with those difficulties, while achieving an amazing design. Whether or not the new Xiaomi Smart Watch will be able to deliver on said promises is still to be seen. However, Huang said that the their previous experience in the development of consumer electronics, will help them achieve a great product at an affordable price.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs-new.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43630" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs-new.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Smart Watch Apple Competitor Specs Moto 360 Design" width="1116" height="654" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs-new.jpg 1116w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs-new-300x176.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs-new-1024x600.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs-new-717x420.jpg 717w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs-new-640x375.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/xiaomi-smart-watch-apple-wrist-band-2-specs-new-681x399.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 1116px) 100vw, 1116px" /></a></p>
<p>What&#8217;s more, the Xiaomi Smart Watch will feature a special design and be made with brushed metal material, similar to the one used in smartphones, such as the HTC One (M8). Although, Huang did not reveal any information regarding the overall shape of the device, he noted that &#8220;the watch industry has been around for many years and the classic dial shape is the most popular, as everyone can see.&#8221; He also added that &#8220;For everyday purposes, smart watches are relatively thick, thus they can sue some trimming of the design, so it looks more pleasing.&#8221;</p>
<p>Huami have also made sure to get the best software engineers on their Smart Watch team, as well. Lin Bin and Hugo Barra, Huami and Google employees, stated that &#8220;the [Xiaomi Smart Watch] user experience will be the best.&#8221;</p>
<p>All in all, Huami seem to be pretty confident in their ability to deliver a worthy competitor to the Apple Watch. Furthermore, according to Huang, the Xiaomi Band 2 and the Xiaomi Smart Watch will come at a lower price, compared to other devices on the market.</p>
<p>Will the company be able to deliver on their promises? Only time will tell!</p>

Right now almost every company has stepped into Android Wear including Apple, Huawei and oppo. Xiaomi always focuses on Price to Performance ratio and they are pretty good at it. With the release of Apple watch some might be thinking that they can not even think of a smartwatch. Xiaomi is always in the market, they Launch products which are necessary and is required for a Normal Strata Person. Xiaomi also makes Premium devices keeping in mind Price to Performance ratio.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>After Huawei and Oppo smartwatch, we think it&#8217;s time for Xiaomi, The Android wear market has got a  lot of  choices but all have some great problems, majority of them can&#8217;t last more than 8 hours, and the one&#8217;s which can last does not fit well in the pocket. Xiaomi would be going to  launch Mi5 in Q4 this year. If it also launches its Smartwatch then it would be a icing in top. Xiaomi already has it&#8217;s fitness band, Mi band, Mi band tracks steps and major the sleep. In a nutshel it takes care of the daily routine.</p>

<p>If Xiaomi releases its Smartwatch, it would be one of the best smartwatch, it would be running android wear, with a MIUI6 flavor in it at a very reasonnable price. So tell us what do you think. Will Xiaomi launch its Android Wear this year?</p>
