Sony was expected to launch the Xperia XA3 and Xperia XA3 Ultra/Plus smartphones at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 tech event in January. The Japanese tech giant will be holding a press event on Feb. 25 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 tech trade show. It is speculated that the company be using the MWC 2019 platform to announce multiple phones such as Xperia XZ4 flagship phone, Xperia XA3 and Xperia XA3 Ultra/Plus mid-range phones and the Xperia L3 entry-level smartphone. Today, popular tipster Ishan Agarwal has revealed that the Sony Xperia XA3 and Xperia XA3 Plus could be respectively rebranded as Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus.

The tipster claims that the reason rebranding the upcoming XA models to Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus could be because of their revamped design. The renders revealed by WinFuture.de show that the Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus will be sporting a tall aspect ratio screen. Rumors have that the Xperia XZ4 flagship smartphone as well as the Xperia 10 and 10 Plus phones will be equipped with 21:9 aspect ratio displays.

The leaked renders of the Xperia 10 and 10 Plus show that both phones are equipped same design. The upper bezel of the Xperia 10 series are quite thick, but its other bezels are quite thin. The only difference is that the Xperia 10 is a smaller device than its Plus sibling. The back panels of the Xperia 10 series feature horizontal dual camera setup with dual-tone LED flash placed above it. The recession on the right side of the phone is for the side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Xperia 10 Plus may feature a 6.5-inch display whereas the Xperia X10 could be equipped with a 5.9-inch screen. Rumors have it the Xperia 10 will be packed with specifications such as Snapdragon 660, 4 GB of RAM, internal storage of 64 GB, 3,500mAh battery and 23-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual camera. The Plus edition may carry similar specs. As of this writing, there is no information on the pricing of the Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus smartphones.

Rumors are rife that the Japanese tech giant will be announcing new smartphones at the beginning of the coming year. According to Droid Shout, Sony will be announcing Sony Xperia XA3, Xperia XA3 Plus and Xperia L3 at (CES) 2019 show. The publication has also shared the color variants and pricing of the upcoming large-sized Xperia XA model.

Multiple leaks have claimed that the Sony Xperia XA3 Ultra will be launching alongside Xperia XA3 and Xperia L3 at CES 2019. However, the publication has mentioned XA3 Plus instead of XA3 Ultra as the one of the Sony devices that are pegged to go official at CES 2019. Could this mean that Sony will releasing the Xperia XA3 Plus instead of XA3 Ultra? Newer leaks are expected to confirm on the names of the Sony phones that will be announced at CES 2019.

The publication has claimed that the handset will be carrying a price tag of 519 euros (~$595) in Europe. Also, the handset will be announced in color options such as Black, Gold and Silver.

There is no information available on the specifications of the Xperia XA3 Plus. The handset is expected to feature an 18:9 aspect ratio display like its predecessor. The Xperia XA2 Plus has Snapdragon 630 onboard. Hence, it is likely that the Japanese tech giant may opt for a more SoC such as Snapdragon 636 or Snapdragon 660 or higher. The Sony Xperia XA3 will be featuring smaller display, lesser RAM, smaller storage and a weaker battery than its larger sibling. However, it could be powered by the same SoC. The handset was spotted on Geekbench a few months ago with Snapdragon 660 chipset onboard.

The Sony Xperia L3 will be an entry-level smartphone. The handset is rumored to feature a 5.7-inch display that supports HD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio.
