The YOGA Pad Pro is one of the flagships tablets Lenovo announced this year. It has one advantage over most tablets and that’s because it doubles as a portable monitor. Today, the manufacturer has announced a new variant of the premium tablet that sports a different material finish.

The YOGA Pad Pro is available in only one color which is black but Lenovo adopted a dual-texture finish. The upper portion is covered in Alcantara while the lower half is metal. The new variant announced today swaps the Alcantara for leather. Lenovo has dubbed the new variant Midnight Aurora.

The tablet has a 13-inch 2K LCD display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, Dolby Vision, and HDR 10. There is a Snapdragon 870 processor powering it with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of storage.

Lenovo ships the phone with four JBL speakers, an 8MP front-facing camera along with a TOF sensor for face unlock, and a 10200mAh battery. The tablet also has a micro HDMI port that allows users to connect it to a device with an HDMI output port, thus allowing the tablet to serve as an external display for the device. It also has support for stylus input.

The manufacturer has not yet announced when the leather version of the YOGA Pad Pro will be available neither has it revealed how much it will cost. It is also unknown if it will be available outside China.

If you have been waiting for Lenovo to announce its new tablets, then there is good news. The tablets which were expected to launch at an event last month but didn’t now have an official launch date.

An official poster released by the manufacturer has revealed that it will have a launch event on May 25 in China and from the image, we are pretty sure that it will announce its new tablets on that day. It also appears that we will be getting a new Legion gaming laptop too.

Lenovo is expected to launch the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021, a flagship tablet powered by the Snapdragon 870 processor; the Xiaoxin Pad Plus, a mid-range tablet with a Snapdragon 750G processor under its hood; and the YOGA Pad Pro, a tablet that can be used as a secondary display for a connected device.

The manufacturer has been teasing all three devices for weeks now. For example, in its most recent Weibo posts, it confirmed the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021 will run Android 11 and have software features designed to make it more productive. It also released videos showing the gaming performance of the tablet. In one video, it shows the popular game, Genshin Impact running smoothly on it while in another, the user is playing King of Glory.

The Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021 will have an OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 2560 x 1600 resolution. It will also have HDR10, Dolby Vision, and quad speakers. The poster above shows the device supports a stylus but we do not know if it will come with one included or buyers will have to purchase it separately.
