The ZTE Libero 5G II smartphone is set to be released soon through the Y! Mobile carrier in Japan. It will come with water and dust resistance, have a 6.67-inch FHD+ display, and be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 processor.

The phone’s rear camera module is comprised of three lenses – a 16MP primary, an 8MP wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP (depth?) sensor. The camera hardware is paired with software features like “Super Night Mode” and “Background Blur Shooting.”

Upfront you get a 6.67-inch FHD+ (2400×1080) display with a center-aligned punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter. The CPU is a MediaTek Dimensity 700 MT6833 2.2GHz octa-core and the RAM and storage peaks at 4GB and 64GB, respectively. For security, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The device is a budget offering but comes with waterproof and dustproof resistance ratings of IPX5, IPX7, and IP5X, which is quite rare at the more wallet-friendly end of the spectrum. It also comes with eSIM support.

ZTE has promised “large-capacity content downloads at high speed” thanks to the phone’s 5G network support, powered by the Dimensity 700 5G chipset.

The ZTE Libero 5G II comes with a large-capacity battery of 3,900mAh that can be filled up through a USB Type-C port. The phone also supports Osaifu-Keitai – Japan’s de facto standard mobile payment system.

Details of a global launch are still awaited.
