ZTE looks serious to provide Firefox OS smartphones, while ZTE is now already release the Android smartphone line up, but ZTE is also has Firefox OS smartphone as the alternative operating systems. This can be seen from the plan of the Chinese companies that are setting up a second handset with the Firefox OS, this device is ready to launch on next year.

The plan revealed by ZTE executive VP He Shiyou when interviewed Michael Kan at the Expo Comm China 2013. According Shiyou, the handset will be released in the first half of 2014 with a larger screen, powered by dual-core processor, and the user interface has been overhauled again while ensuring this phone will be offered with very affordable price.

ZTE is currently said to sell about 100,000 units of ZTE Open, which he calls exceeds supply. He hoped that the number will be doubled later.

Shiyou said that ZTE is a series about small-scale of ZTE Open but he believes that smartphones with HTML5-based OS will be increasingly relevant as the faster network technologies such as LTE will reduce the reliance on software in a handset. He added that in the future there will be no app store business model as it is run today.

ZTE and Firefox has already developed Firefox OS-based smartphone thats called as ZTE Open, while this is the new comer for mobile OS smartphone but the user is very positive responses to this product.

The new ZTE Openm, the one of Firefox OS based smartpone is now soldout just only one weeks since it’s released in UK and US market. That the devices sold out in the UK and US might be as sign of success, but for now, fewer than 1,000 buyers in each market were able to get their hands on the device.

This phone is sold for nly $80 USD in UK and US and success to sold for 1970 unit. The ZTE’s low-end price is shows in its specs, which offer a 3.5-inch multitouch screen, a three-megapixel forward-facing camera, 512MB storage and 256MB RAM, and a single-core 1GHz processor from Qualcomm.

Both Firefox OS smartphone is already hit the Europe market and now they turn to hit Latin America through the Movistar provider. So the user from Colombia and Venezuela can buy the Alcatel OneTouch Fire and ZTE Open from the carrier today.

This make jelousy for some user in America and Asia region, since the Firefox OS will be available a month ahead, but the Latin American can bought those device just for $277 and $184 on contract, while Colombians can buy either device for $106 prepaid or $53 on a one-year agreement.
