A tipster on Weibo has claimed that the device could be the ZTE S40 series model, a successor of the S30 lineup.</p>
<p>The 3C certification process reveals that the device will come with support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/65w">65W fast charging</a> technology. However, apart from this charging speed, nothing much is known about this upcoming smartphone.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-425124 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/ZTE-S40-3C-Certificate.png?x23692" alt="ZTE 9040N (S40) 3C Certification" width="1440" height="358" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/ZTE-S40-3C-Certificate.png 1440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/ZTE-S40-3C-Certificate-300x75.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/ZTE-S40-3C-Certificate-768x191.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/ZTE-S40-3C-Certificate-1024x255.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/ZTE-S40-3C-Certificate-696x173.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/ZTE-S40-3C-Certificate-1068x266.png 1068w" sizes="(max-width: 1440px) 100vw, 1440px" /></p>
<p>Given that the smartphone has now passed through the certification process, we expect the device to soon get launched in the Chinese market. If the phone is indeed a part of the S40 lineup, then we expect it to be the Pro model given the charging speed.</p>
<p>The ZTE S30 series smartphones were launched in March this year, which could mean that its successor could also be launched around the same time, within a few months. This time also we expect three different models &#8212; ZTE S40, S40 Pro, and S40 SE.</p>
<p>The top-end model in the lineup &#8212; <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/zte-s30-pro/">ZTE S30 Pro</a> features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, and 800nits peak brightness. The device comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 786G chipset and packs a 4,200mAh battery with 55W fast charging.</p>
<p>On the other hand, the S30 is powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/23/mediatek-dimensity-720-launched/">MediaTek Dimensity 720</a> SoC and 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging. Everything else remained the same as the Pro model. The S30 starts at 2,198 yuan (~$344) while the Pro model starts at 2,998 yuan (~$470). We are expecting similar or slightly higher pricing for its successors.</p>
