Following its announcement, a number of smartphone brands shared that their own premium handset offerings will be powered by this new chip. So let&#8217;s take a look at the companies that will launch a flagship device with this new processor.</p>
<p>Talking about the chipset itself first, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 arrives with various improvements to its core technologies. This includes 5G connectivity, camera sensors, AI, gaming, audio, and security. It is built using a 4nm process over the 5nm process used in the last-gen <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-888/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Snapdragon 888</a> SoC, and features the latest ARM v9 architecture. The SoC is an octa-core processor and is claimed to offer 20 percent better performance while having a 30 percent improvement in power efficiency as well.</p>

<p>With the announcement of the new Qualcomm flagship SoC, a number of smartphone makers took to social media platforms to announce their upcoming handsets as well. Among the bunch, brands like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Xiaomi</a> are said to be one of the first to feature this latest chipset. Other companies like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/realme/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Realme</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Motorola</a> have also confirmed that they are going to be one of the early adopters of this new chip. So let&#8217;s have a look at all the brands that could be launching their flagship phones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.</p>
<h4>Xiaomi</h4>
<p>Shortly after the Qualcomm announcement, the Chinese tech giant took to Twitter to share a short video that teased the new chipset. This, in turn, also <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/01/xiaomi-12-snapdragon-8-gen-1/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">confirmed</a> that its next-gen flagship Xiaomi 12 series will feature the newly announced SoC. As per initial reports, the brand was said to be the first company to launch a smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. However, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/11/28/xiaomi-12-series-launch-by-december-end-may-not-be-first-brand-to-feature-snapdragon-8-gen1-phone/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">other reports</a> hinted at the company only being among the first batches since other brands have already announced a launch date, which is just a few days away.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-428348 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Xiaomi-12-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-Confirmed.jpeg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi 12 Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Confirmed" width="442" height="589" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Xiaomi-12-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-Confirmed.jpeg 1440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Xiaomi-12-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-Confirmed-225x300.jpeg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Xiaomi-12-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-Confirmed-768x1024.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Xiaomi-12-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-Confirmed-696x928.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Xiaomi-12-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-Confirmed-1068x1424.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Xiaomi-12-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-Confirmed-315x420.jpeg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 442px) 100vw, 442px" /></p>
<p>Although, this even could mean that the availability of its flagship phones might be earlier than other brands, rather than just the announcement.</p>
<p>Talking about the device itself, the Xiaomi 12 series is expected to feature a curved AMOLED display on the front with a 120Hz refresh rate. The series is also expected to offer a 50-megapixel primary camera on the rear and support 100W+ fast charging as well. We had previously covered a<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/11/25/xiaomi-12-12x-launch-date-could-be-december-12/"> tipster&#8217;s hint at a December 12 launch date</a>, so stay tuned for more updates.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4>Motorola</h4>
<p>Motorola is also gearing up for the launch of its next-gen flagship smartphone, which will be a part of its Edge X30 series. The premium-grade series in question is set to be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/01/moto-edge-x30-is-launching-on-december-9-could-be-worlds-first-phone-with-snapdragon-8-gen-1/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">officially announced on December 9</a>, which might make it the first brand to unveil a smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. This device is set to sport a 6.67 inch FHD+ OLED display that supports a 144Hz refresh rate on the front, while the rear houses a 50-megapixel triple camera module.</p>
<figure id="attachment_428372" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-428372" style="width: 1080px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-428372" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/20211201133228.jpg?x10805" alt="Snapdragon 8 Gen 1" width="1080" height="662" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/20211201133228.jpg 1080w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/20211201133228-300x184.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/20211201133228-768x471.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/20211201133228-1024x628.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/20211201133228-696x427.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/20211201133228-1068x655.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/20211201133228-685x420.jpg 685w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-428372" class="wp-caption-text">Snapdragon 8 Gen 1</figcaption></figure>
<h4></h4>
<h4>OPPO</h4>
<p>Similar to Xiaomi, another Chinese brand, Oppo, also took to Twitter to announce their upcoming high-end smartphone that will feature the newly announced Qualcomm chipset. Unfortunately, the brand only announced that it will be launching a smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but did not reveal any finer details regarding this device. Although, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/11/24/alleged-oppo-find-x4-pros-key-specifications-leak-reveals-2k-display-snapdragon-8-gen1-and-more/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Find X4 Pro</a> is expected to be this flagship handset, which is expected to launch sometime in Q1 2022. In other words, it is also among the first batch to feature this new chipset.</p>
<h4></h4>
<h4>OnePlus</h4>
<p>Earlier today (1st December 2021), <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">OnePlus</a> shared a new post on its official Weibo account (a Chinese microblogging website). On the social media platform, the company officially announced that its new generation of flagship smartphones will feature the Snapdragon 8 series SoC. While the company did not reveal any finer details, the model is expected to be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">OnePlus 10</a> series. The series is rumored to feature top-notch specs like a curved Quad HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage. This lineup is also expected to debut in the first quarter of next year.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4>Realme</h4>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/realme-gt-2-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Realme GT 2 Pro</a> is the highly anticipated 2022 flagship smartphone from the brand. It is also officially confirmed to feature the top-end Snapdragon 8 series platform. The handset is expected to feature a Super AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, punch hole cutout, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. On the rear, a 108-megapixel primary sensor will be paired with an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 5-megapixel tertiary sensor. The front features a 32-megapixel selfies shooter, as per previous leaks.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-428365 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Realme-GT-2-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1.jpeg?x10805" alt="" width="3840" height="2160" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Realme-GT-2-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1.jpeg 3840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Realme-GT-2-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Realme-GT-2-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Realme-GT-2-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Realme-GT-2-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Realme-GT-2-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Realme-GT-2-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-747x420.jpeg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Realme-GT-2-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-1-1920x1080.jpeg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3840px) 100vw, 3840px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4>Vivo</h4>
<p>Following the Snapdragon Technology Summit, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/vivo/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Vivo</a> also shared an announcement on Weibo that revealed its plans for a new Snapdragon 8 series-powered smartphone. Unfortunately, finer details are currently unknown, but we can expect the chip to debut in its upcoming Nex 4, X80 Pro, and X80 Pro+ series of smartphones. On the other hand, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iqoo/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iQOO</a> has also announced that their next-gen flagship will feature this processor as well. It is likely a part of the iQOO 9 series.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4>Other Brands</h4>
<p>A number of other brands are also looking to launch their premium offerings with the new SoC. This includes the likes of Honor with its Magic4 series, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Samsung</a> with its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-s22/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Galaxy S22</a> series, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/redmi/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Redmi</a> with its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/redmi-k50/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Redmi K50</a> series, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nubia/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Nubia</a> with the Z40 series, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/brand/black-shark/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Black Shark</a> with the Black Shark 5 series, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/zte/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">ZTE</a> with the Axon 40 series, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/red-magic/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Red Magic</a> with its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nubia-red-magic-7/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Red Magic 7</a> series and even <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/sharp/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Sharp</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/sony/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Sony</a> as well. Keep in mind, that a number of models mentioned above have yet to be confirmed or even officially revealed as of right now and are just based on educated guesses.</p>
<p>Although, with the companies previously equipping their flagships with the latest and greatest Snapdragon chips, it won&#8217;t be surprised if an official confirmation from these brands is just around the corner.</p>

Ahead of the November 30 official announcement of the name changes to the Qualcomm Snapdragon lineup and the unveiling of its new chips, rumors on the debut devices remain rife. It is alleged that three upcoming premium <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/zte" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">ZTE</a> smartphones will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Qualcomm-Snapdragon-logo.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-176299" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Qualcomm-Snapdragon-logo.jpg?x10805" alt="Qualcomm Snapdragon" width="600" height="360" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Qualcomm-Snapdragon-logo.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Qualcomm-Snapdragon-logo-300x180.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Xiaomi and Motorola have been some of the other OEMs that have been mentioned to deploy the new chipset in their models. The high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is rumored to be used by ZTE’s upcoming gaming-oriented smartphone lineup – the nubia Red Magic 7 and Red Magic 7 Pro, as well as the Nubia Z40. While the source of the leak is not fully specified, we cannot confirm at this time, other key details relating to these models are rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/zte.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-427862" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/zte.jpg?x10805" alt="ZTE" width="1200" height="142" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/zte.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/zte-300x36.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/zte-768x91.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/zte-1024x121.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/zte-696x82.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/zte-1068x126.jpg 1068w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></a></p>
<p>An official announcement from Qualcomm itself or from the smartphone maker itself will clarify all the doubts and uncertainty regarding the debut of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It is also unclear when these models will hit the market and their pricing details. The November 30 Qualcomm event will illuminate some of these details at least.</p>
