Realme, OPPO’s sub-brand, now has an official website. The website went live today and includes information about the brand.

According to the CEO of Realme, Sky Li, the brand is targeted at young people around the globe. Li used to be the head of the overseas market at OPPO before leaving OPPO officially.

While he does make it sound like Realme is a separate brand independent of OPPO, it actually isn’t. The company’s only phone at the moment, the Realme 1 has OPPO’s branding on it which confirms the fact that it is actually a sub-brand and not independent of its parent company. OPPO itself is one of the companies owned by BBK Electronics, who owns the Vivo and OnePlus brands.

Realme 2 retail box

Apart from the website that went live today, a photo of the manufacturer’s next phone, the Realme 2 leaked. Hours after that, another photo, this time of its retail box, also surfaced online. The image shows the phone will come in a red and white box with a large and bold “2” on top and the Realme brand at the bottom.

Sadly, the image doesn’t show if there are specs of the phone on the box. However, the image that leaked earlier today revealed the phone will have a notch, dual rear cameras, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It will surely sell for much higher than its predecessor but we believe it will still be priced under INR 20,000 (~$285).
