Realme launched a lot of flagship killers in 2020. After Realme X3 SuperZoom and Realme X50 Pro 5G, the Chinese giant which became one of the most important smartphone manufacturers in just one year came up with the Realme X7 Pro. It is the successor of the Realme X2 Pro released in the second half of 2019 and, just like every Realme flagship, it carries a very interesting price tag. Here is a comparison between all the 2020 flagships released by the company in order to understand which one to choose depending on your actual needs.

Design

The Realme X50 Pro is my favourite one because it comes with premium materials and minimal design. It has a glass back and an aluminum frame, a small camera module and a very high screen-to-body ratio. But some may prefer the Realme X7 Pro, especially in the gradient color variants with the big company slogan on the rear side. I do not like it so much because of its bigger camera module, but the single punch hole (instead of the dual punch hole found on its rivals) makes its front panel sleeker. The Realme X3 SuperZoom is another beautiful handset, just choose according to your tastes.

Display

Realme X7 Pro has the most interesting display. Unlike the Realme X50 Pro 5G, it lacks the HDR10+ certification (or the company forgot to mention it). But on the other hand, it has a higher 120 Hz refresh rate (against the 90 Hz of the Realme X50 Pro 5G). Realme X3 SuperZoom has 120 Hz as well, but it sports an IPS panel and that is the reason why it loses the comparison not only against the Realme X7 Pro but even against the Realme X50 Pro 5G. While Realme X7 Pro has the most stunning panel, Realme X50 Pro 5G has the most compact one with a 6.44-inch diagonal.

Hardware/Software

Realme X50 Pro 5G packs the most powerful chipset and the highest amount of RAM in its most expensive configuration, as well as the most advanced internal storage. With the Realme 50 Pro 5G, you get the Snapdragon 865 SoC, up to 12 GB of RAM, and UFS 3.0 native storage. Realme X7 Pro packs the Dimensity 1000+ mobile platform by MediaTek which sits in the middle between the Snapdragon 855+ found on the Realme X3 SuperZoom and the Snapdragon 865 of the Realme X50 Pro 5G. However, Realme X3 SuperZoom is actually better if we talk about performance since it has a higher amount of RAM (12 GB vs up to 8 GB) and better storage (UFS 3.0 vs UFS 2.1). On the other hand, note that Realme X3 SuperZoom is the only one that does not support 5G. These three devices run the same software: Android 10 customized by Realme UI.

Camera

The best camera phone of this trio is the Realme X3 SuperZoom. The only difference between Realme X3 SuperZoom and Realme X50 Pro 5G is the periscope sensor: it provides up to 5x optical zoom and it supports OIS, while Realme X50 Pro 5G has a telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom instead of the periscope lens. Even the front cameras of Realme X3 SuperZoom and Realme X50 Pro 5G are the same. Realme X7 Pro is inferior to both with its 64 quad-camera lacking a telephoto sensor. The phone even lacks the additional ultrawide sensor included in the dual front camera of its two rivals.

Battery

Realme X7 Pro should actually last more on a single charge thanks to its bigger 4500 mAh battery supporting 65W fast charging. Right after, we got the Realme X50 Pro 5G with a 4200 mAh unit. Due to its IPS display, Realme X3 SuperZoom has a higher energy consumption (if we exclude the usage of 5G networks).

Price

Realme X3 SuperZoom and Realme X50 Pro 5G are priced €499/$590 and €599/$710 respectively, in the global market. Realme X7 Pro is still not present in the global market. At the end of the day, there is no definitive winner for this comparison. Realme X3 SuperZoom has better cameras but the worse display, Realme X7 Pro has a great display but worse cameras, Realme X50 Pro 5G sits in the middle with a pretty nice display and cameras, but I would personally choose it because of its Snapdragon 865 chipset. However, I could make a definitive choice only after looking at the global price of the Realme X7 Pro.
