The new E Series is going to be entirely different from all the other lines and is expected to be aimed at the high-end.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91842" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Meizu-E.jpeg?x10805" alt="Meizu E" width="523" height="377" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Meizu-E.jpeg 523w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Meizu-E-300x216.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 523px) 100vw, 523px" /></p>
<p>The use of an Exynos processor shouldn&#8217;t come as a surprise considering the fact that Meizu and Qualcomm are currently not best of friends at the moment. Qualcomm filed a <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/24/meizu-sued-qualcomm-4g-patents/">lawsuit against Meizu</a> about a month ago with the former <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/27/qualcomm-suing-meizu-520-million-yuan-patent-infringement/">demanding for 520 million Yuan </a>in damages for the infringement.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91841" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Exynos-8890.jpeg?x10805" alt="Exynos 8890" width="578" height="340" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Exynos-8890.jpeg 578w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Exynos-8890-300x176.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 578px) 100vw, 578px" /></p>
<p>The Exynos 8890 SoC is a 64-bit ARMv8 octa-core processor based on the big.LITTLE architecture. It uses a custom Samsung CPU (Exynos M1 &#8221;Mongoose&#8221;) clocked at 2.3GHZ  in combination with 4 cortex A-53 cores at 1.56GHz for low power consumption. The chip is built using the 2nd generation 14nm FinFET process, offering an increase in performance and better power efficiency.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-91840" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Exynos-8890-specs.jpeg?x10805" alt="Exynos 8890 specs" width="591" height="299" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Exynos-8890-specs.jpeg 591w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Exynos-8890-specs-300x152.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 591px) 100vw, 591px" /></p>
<p>The SoC also uses a Category 12/13 modem that supports downlink speeds of up to 600Mbps and uplink speeds of up to 150Mbps and FDD-TDD joint carrier aggregation for more flexible network usage.</p>
<h4>Exynos 8890 vs Snapdragon 820</h4>
<p>A CPU comparison of the Samsung Exynos 8890 and Snapdragon 820 processor shows the SD 820 scoring 2320 for the single-core test against the Exynos 8890&#8217;s 2200. For the multi-core test, Samsung&#8217;s chip scores over 6500 against the SD 820&#8217;s 5369 indicating that the Exynos processor has enhanced multi-tasking and better utilization of the 8 cores.</p>
