New results shows the Kirin 950 raking up more points in the core-tests and the Snapdragon 820’s scores suffering a decline.

Qualcomm’s snapdragon 820 SoC scored highest in the single-core test on Geekbench 3, followed by Samsung’s Exynos 8890 and Huawei’s Kirin 950.

New single-core test scores on Geekbench 4 Beta, puts the Exynos 8890 in front followed by the Kirin 950 and the SD 820.

For the multi-core test on geekbench 3, Samsung leads with the Exynos 8890, Huawei comes in second, and Qualcomm takes the rear. The results for Geekbench 4 Beta remains the same.

In terms of overall performance, the Kirin has seen a huge improvement. However, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 (Adreno 530) is still the best in terms of GPU performance, dwarfing Samsung’s Mali T880 MP12 by more than double.

Unless you’re a geek, the scores wouldn’t really matter to most people. Most buyers tend to look at other factors other than processing power when picking up a new phone such as camera performance, battery life, and quick updates.
