The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/10/24/leak-reveals-xiaomi-will-release-three-full-screen-redmi-phone/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Redmi Note 5 is speculated to launch in December</a>, but fresh information suggests that the two Redmi phones that were approved by TENAA could be the two variants of the upcoming Redmi 5 Plus that are likely to launch before Nov. 11.</p>
<p>A Xiaomi phone with model number MEG7 has been certified by Taiwan’s NCC.  However, we could not find the document that linked the Redmi 5 Plus to that model number. After searching for the certification, we could only find the following image which reveals that the MEG7 model will launch as Redmi 5 Plus.</p>
<p>TENAA, China’s certification body, had recently approved <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/10/21/redmi-mee7-redmi-met7-full-specs-appear-tenaa-may-launch-redmi-note-5/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">two Xiaomi devices with model numbers MEE7 and MET7.</a>  Since the MEG7 model is approved as Redmi 5 Plus by NCC, it appears that MEE7 and MET7 are the two variants of Redmi 5 Plus for China. The MEE7 is rumored as a Redmi 5 Plus variant that will be exclusive to China Mobile. The MET7 is speculated to support all the carriers in China.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-155274 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Xiaomi-Redmi-5-Plus-leak-MEG7-NCC.png?x10805" alt="" width="867" height="685" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Xiaomi-Redmi-5-Plus-leak-MEG7-NCC.png 867w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Xiaomi-Redmi-5-Plus-leak-MEG7-NCC-300x237.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Xiaomi-Redmi-5-Plus-leak-MEG7-NCC-768x607.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 867px) 100vw, 867px" /></p>
<p>According to the TENAA listing of both phones, these devices will feature 5.99-inch screens that carry support for full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. It appears that these devices will offer an aspect ratio of 18:9.</p>
<p>The Redmi 5 Plus models will be driven by 2 GHz octa-core processor. Some sources claim that they may be fueled by Snapdragon 625 chipset, but there is possibility that these phones may feature the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/10/20/full-screen-redmi-phone-arrives-tenaa-said-come-snapdragon-450-soc/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Snapdragon 450 chipset</a>. These devices are preloaded with Android 7.1.2 Nougat. For photography, these phones are expected to feature a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Both phones are pegged to feature 4,000mAh capacity batteries.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-155275 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Xiaomi-Redmi-5-Plus-TENAA.png?x10805" alt="" width="899" height="601" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Xiaomi-Redmi-5-Plus-TENAA.png 899w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Xiaomi-Redmi-5-Plus-TENAA-300x201.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Xiaomi-Redmi-5-Plus-TENAA-768x513.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 899px) 100vw, 899px" /></p>

<p>The only major difference between the MEE7 and MET7 devices is that the former features 3 GB of RAM + 32 GB of storage and the latter has 4 GB of RAM + 64 GB of storage. These variants are speculated to launch with respective pricing of 999 Yuan (~$150) and 1,299 Yuan (~$195).</p>
<p>Nov. 11 is Singles’ Day in China and it is the biggest online shopping festival in the country. Previous reports have revealed that the company is looking forward to making the most of the upcoming shopping festival by launching the Redmi 5 Plus before Nov. 11. The company has reportedly prepared plenty of stock of the smartphone as it is expected to encounter huge demand.</p>
<p>Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun had recently claimed the company is targeting to ship <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/10/17/xiaomi-aims-sell-90-million-phones/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">at least 90 million units in this year</a>. Since the company is speculated to unleash its highly affordable budget phones with full screen design before the end of 2017, it appears that it won’t be too difficult for it fulfill its goal.</p>
