As a global tech media, Gizmochina always works hard to introduce tech products that serve ourselves and our global audiences beyond borders. Yes, indeed. We should not be limited by borders. That’s where the KIMIFI comes in, a mobile WIFI hotspot to transcend borders and help you connect to the world, no matter where you are. Well, it was with me for a few weeks. Now, I think it’s time to share my thoughts about the hotspot with you.

KIMIFI

The hardware is pretty simple and intuitive. It looks like a power-bank but it’s not very heavy. It’s a bit smaller than most smartphones, but still got a 3500-mAh battery, which can stay connected for over 14 hours with a full charge. In daily use, it generally can last for two days. Removing the cover, a QR code and WIFI information can be found for your device activation. A SIM-Card can be available here but my suggestion is rather to use its Cloud SIM-Card. We will talk about it later.

We used to have mobile hotspots that need us to switch the SIM card every time we leave for another country, or incur expensive roaming charges from our local carriers. No matter which solution we choose, it always means that we need to plan well ahead which carrier’s SIM-Card and which package to use before we start traveling. Well, with KIMIFI, you can leave those annoying preparations aside and just enjoy your trip, because besides switching SIM-Card, it has Cloud-SIM-card technology that we just mentioned. All you need to do is to carry it on and choose a data package in the KIMIFI app.

KIMIFI App

One important detail is the KIMIFI app. With the app, we can have a view of our current package information including our usage and fees. For me, at least I don’t need to spend much time figuring out language traps from different carriers. About its powerful connection, 5 devices can be connected simultaneously to one KIMIFI. So, if you are traveling with friends or families, it could also solve internet problems by sharing WIFI.

Up to 5-deivces connection

A feature of KIMIFI that surprises me the most is its support at a global scale. It covers 135 countries’ 4G networks and has the top 3 carriers for each country. And the KIMIFI team told us that they are still working on adding more countries to the list. Now they having a funding project on IndieGoGo, if you are interested, just go to the website and check whether your destination is in the list (see below).

About the prices of its traffic packages, I can only show a very small part here. If you want more information please check the link of the IndieGoGo project.
